Tasha allowed herself to lean on him, aware of the burden standing on his shoulders. “I hope they will give us a chance to enjoy ourselves.”

As the car neared the dock, Tasha felt her phone vibrate again in her pocket. She did not want to pick it up, rather compounding the feelings she had in the dynamics of the present and ignoring the black clouds on the corners of her vision.

“Let’s just take it positively,” she said in her tone trying to put in some cheerfulness.

“Sure,” he said as he got out of the car, but she saw that his eyes reflected a sense of fear.

Joining their hands together and breathing heavily, they proceeded towards the vessel. Tasha, however, felt her other life folding on her.
