Punch after punch resounded clearly from a fairly large room. The punches were loud and echoed throughout the room without stopping. Despite the repeated blows, the punches didn't lessen or weaken. Instead, they grew stronger and harder. Lyall's body was covered in sweat, pouring down profusely. He would occasionally throw kicks.

"How long are you going to do that? Isn't that too much?" Zaiden walked over. Lyall ignored him, continuing to hit the punching bag. "Exercise makes you healthy, but too much makes you sick."

Lyall still ignored Zaiden. He continued to hit relentlessly.

"Geez, that kid, he really doesn't care about me," Zaiden grumbled softly, even though he knew Lyall heard him clearly, thanks to his werewolf-like hearing. "HEY... HELLOOOOOO???!!"

Zaiden's shout made Lyall stop his punching. He took a deep breath and rolled his eyes, but a second later, he was back to hitting the punching bag hanging in front of him. Zaiden snorted in annoyance. He threw the towel, which landed right on Lyall's head and covered his face.

"Oopsss... Sorry..." Zaiden pursed his lips, holding back his laughter.

Lyall snorted in annoyance and roughly ripped the towel off his face, throwing it somewhere. Without looking at Zaiden, Lyall resumed hitting the punching bag.

"Did you forget you have to go to school? You're going to be late."

Lyall ignored Zaiden's words again. Zaiden snorted in annoyance.

"Okay, I get it. You're ignoring me. But I'm sure Luna will enjoy scolding you," Zaiden grumbled, then sat down on one of the benches. Lyall stopped his hitting, took a deep breath, and then looked at Zaiden.

"I've already told Mom clearly. I'm not going to school no matter what. So now stop whining! You're hurting my ears!"

"Me? Whining?" Zaiden stood up from his seat. He stared at Lyall in disbelief. Lyall shook his head and resumed practicing his punches. "I'm not whining, but I agree with your mother. You should go to school and be a normal teenager, just like other kids your age."

A hard punch landed on the punching bag. It was much harder than Lyall's previous blows. Lyall glared at Zaiden angrily.

"Normal? You think I've never tried? (walks toward Zaiden) No matter how much I try to be normal, I won't be able to be normal if this damn monster is still inside me!!"

"Whoah, calm down, no need to shout. I understand all of that, but—"

"No," Lyall interrupted quickly. "You don't understand, and you never will!"

Lyall grabbed his backpack and water bottle and quickly left. Zaiden took a deep breath and followed Lyall. Outside the room, two boys about Lyall's age were waiting for him.

"Hey, Ly, we have to go to school—" one of the boys tried to speak to Lyall, but Lyall just walked quickly past them without even looking at them. They both exchanged confused glances.

"Just ignore him," Zaiden said, having just left the room. “You guys go first. I don’t want you to be late.

“But... Is he okay? He seems angry?” asked one of them, Nathan.

Zaiden chuckled. “It wouldn’t be Lyall if he wasn’t angry. He’s always like that.”

The two teenagers nodded in unison. “Then we’ll go.”

“Be safe. Oh yes, tell Theon to meet me in the forest south of town.”

“Are you guys going to train together again?” they looked enthusiastic. Zaiden laughed.

“No, there’s just something I need to discuss with him in person. You guys go. I have to go too.”

Zaiden left, leaving Nathan and Miro still watching him leave.

“Everything’s ready, Luna,” Zaiden said when he arrived in the kitchen.

“Good, thank you. Let’s eat. After that, please take Lycus and Lyall, if you can?”

Zaiden smiled. “Of course, Luna, you don’t need to ask.”

“Of course I have to. You're like my son. Sit down.” Stella placed a pancake on a plate for Zaiden. Indeed, after Zaiden's mother died, Stella took on the role of mother. She cared for Zaiden as if she were her own. Even Alpha Cyrus treated him that way. Zaiden sat down and began eating his pancake. Lyall lazily descended the stairs. He sighed repeatedly. Lyall was wearing a white t-shirt paired with a light brown shirt and dark blue jeans. His brown hair was messy. Lyall put his bag on the floor and sat down in one of the chairs.

“Can't you style your hair? Use gel!” Stella began her morning nagging. Lyall just sighed deeply. “Eat and go or you'll be late.”

“I'm not hungry,” Lyall replied curtly. He looked at his brother, who was now sticking out his tongue and making a mocking face at him. Lyall glared at him.

“Eat a little.” Stella cut a piece of pancake and put it in her mouth. “And there’s no uniform at school here. You must be happy. Don’t you always say… Uhmm… What’s that…”

“School uniforms are the most childish thing ever,” Zaiden replied. Stella nodded quickly.

“Right! School uniforms are the most childish thing ever.”

Lyall spun his mane around and let out a shaky sigh, then grabbed his bag and stood up.

“I’m going.”

“Hey, hey, you haven’t had breakfast yet. Zaiden hasn’t finished either!” his mother protested.

“What do I care? I really don’t want to hear nonsense this early in the morning.” Lyall walked out of the house.

“Oh my—that kid.”

“I’ll go after him, Luna.” Zaiden got up from his seat.

“But you’re not finished yet.”

“I’m finished and full. Thank you for breakfast, Luna. If you’ll excuse me.” Zaiden jogged after Lyall.

“That kid.” Stella sighed and looked at Lyall. “Looks like you’re going with Uncle Carl today.” Stella smiled at Lycal, who was still engrossed in his breakfast. Stella arranged some plates and took them to the dishwasher. She looked out the window in front of the dishwasher. In the backyard, she saw her brothers, Carl, and Dal, talking outside. Tears welled up in her eyes. She quickly wiped them away so Lycal wouldn't see them.

"Can't we go slower?" This was the umpteenth time Zaiden asked and spoke to Lyall, but not a word came out of Lyall's mouth. "It's easier by car, why choose to walk? You usually always complain when told to walk or train," Zaiden grumbled, which Lyall certainly heard clearly.

The school wasn't that far from their house. Only a ten-minute drive. The walk took longer, but with the forest views on both sides of the road, it looked very beautiful and the air was fresh. Lyall lived in a small town surrounded by forests and small rivers. The small town of Fortres Hill had a small pack, but they were known for being solid and strong. It was Lyall's uncle's pack, Luna Stella's home pack, the RaClaws.

"But I just noticed, what's with the wounds on your forehead and neck?" Zaiden quickened his pace to keep pace with Lyall. Lyall was a little surprised, but he managed to hide it.

"As usual, injured while training," Lyall finally answered. Zaiden suddenly stopped in front of Lyall, blocking his way. Lyall stopped in his tracks.

“It doesn’t look like a training injury.” Zaiden frowned. Lyall gave Zaiden a flat look, then pushed him away and continued walking.

“You’re lying, right? I know you’re lying (turning himself back to Lyall). I know you too well, Ly.”

Lyall stopped abruptly and looked at Zaiden.

“Why are you so interested in my life? Do you like me?”

Zaiden’s expression turned pitiful. “You really hurt me. I thought you already knew that.”

“Ew! You’re so disgusting!” Lyall walked quickly away, leaving Zaiden, who was laughing at Lyall’s reaction. Lyall touched the wound on his forehead. This was all because of that girl.

“Have you picked up your schedule and books?” asked a middle-aged man with a plump build and a head of thinning hair.

“Yes,” Lyall replied flatly, seeming unconcerned.

“Good, very good, and wow... You're so tall and so handsome. I'm sure the girls here will like you.” The man teased, but Lyall didn't react. “Ahem... Okay. Let me take you to your class. Now you have... Uhm, history. I'll introduce you to your classmates.”

“Is that necessary?” Lyall hated the idea. “I can go to class by myself.”

“No, no. I'm your homeroom teacher, and it's my duty to introduce the new student to his classmates. Come on.”

The man walked ahead to class. Lyall rolled his eyes and snorted in annoyance. He had planned to skip school after finishing his things at this school. A new student arriving during that period was truly annoying. He thought public school would be different. Students would find their own classrooms. But Lyall's hopes were dashed. Damn!

“Sorry to interrupt your studies, students. I, as your homeroom teacher, will introduce your new classmates. Come on in.”

There was no answer, nor was anyone else entering the classroom.

“Young man. Mr. Lycaros. You may come in now.”

With a heavy heart and a sense of annoyance, Lyall entered the classroom. A clamor erupted from the female students. Quite a few male students also joined in their comments. How could they not, a new student with a tall, well-proportioned body, fair skin, and a handsome face with a defined jawline had just entered their classroom.

“Okay, class. Calm down. I know you can’t wait to get to know him. Let him introduce himself. Please, Mr. Lycaros.”

Lyall remained silent and lowered his head. He truly hated this idea. But everyone was staring and waiting for him.

Lifted his head and looked at his classmate. “Hey.. My name is Lyall.”

No more words came out of Lyall’s mouth. He didn’t want to say more than that. Especially now that his eyes were fixed on one person in the class.

“Is that all?” The homeroom teacher waited for Lyall’s answer. Lyall remained silent. “Okay. Then you can sit in that empty seat over there.” The homeroom teacher left the classroom, leaving Lyall motionless. His body froze, staring at the one person in the room. The strange girl, Eira. Eira was also quite surprised to see Lyall and looked very displeased.

“Lyall!” the teacher’s voice interrupted his reverie. Lyall looked at his history teacher. “You can sit, and I have to continue my lesson.” Lyall nodded. “You can sit in the empty seat next to Eira.”

Wait, what? Next to who?

“What are you waiting for? Hurry up.”

Arrgghhh, so annoying!

Karina suddenly stopped in her tracks and looked around."W-What's wrong?" Eira asked, confused.Karina continued running but soon stopped again."Karina, are you okay?"Karina growled. It grew louder and louder. Karina's sudden run startled Eira, unprepared for her spontaneous movement. Karina ran even faster. Eira tightened her grip and closed her eyes. Karina suddenly acted strangely and ran very fast, as if being chased by something. Could it be?Sure enough, a second later, both Eira and Karina's bodies were thrown into the air by a powerful impact. Karina twisted in the air, trying to grab Eira, but she couldn't. Scott sat on the sofa, still reeling from the shock. Carl and Ron's expressions were no less shocked. "Is... Is it possible that his fur color could change?" Scott considered all the possibilities. "Lyall's is exactly the same as his grandfather's the last time I saw him," Carl assured. "But how is that possible?" Ron still couldn't believe it. 'So I've been misjudging him all this time? That he would kill Eira?' Scott wondered. "Then why were you so sure he was still in his pack at the time? Wasn't he a member of your pack too?" Scott was still searching for at least a small reason to justify his belief in Lyall. Carl shook his head. "Lyall comes from the LycroClaws pack, his father's pack, in Europe. You know Stella, my sister. I'm sure you know she married and lived with her husband and child in Europe. And life there was very difficult. It wasn't about material things, but about the struggle for power and the throne." "Throne? You mean, like a kingdom?" “Indeed. Lya

Lyall massaged his suddenly aching head.“Are you okay?” Eira asked.Nodded. “Hmm... I'm fine. So... Is this your farewell party?”“Of course not. This is the official announcement of us becoming good friends.”“Oooo..”“Why are you reacting like that?”“I thought we were already good friends.”“Well. .. At least this makes it official.”Lyall laughed. “Just stay like this, Eira. Be the cheerful Eira, not the nerd Eira.”“I'm used to being a nerd.”“No, you're not a nerd. You're the one who made them call you that.”Eira sighed. “I don't know. I prefer being invisible.”Lyall stared at Eira. “But you're too beautiful to be invisible.”Lyall's words made Eira's heart skip a beat. She was sure her face was now red with embarrassment. Eira cleared her throat. “Don’t try to lie to me,” she said, folding her arms across her chest.“I’m not lying. You have a beautiful face and a caring nature. That’s what makes you perfect in my eyes.”“Yes, only in your eyes. In the eyes of others, I’m a

"What are you doing here alone?" Zaiden asked. He saw Lyall standing for a long time on the edge of the cliff. "You're not going to jump, are you?" "I'm not crazy." Lyall shook his head, but his eyes were still closed. "I'm just enjoying the warmth of the morning sun." "You? Enjoying the morning sun?" Zaiden touched Lyall's forehead. "Are you sick?" Lyall snorted and slapped Zaiden's hand away. "It's not funny." "I was just asking. Besides, it's not like you to suddenly enjoy the morning sun." Lyall remained silent. They didn't speak for a while. "Do you remember? The three of us used to wake up early just to sunbathe. I remember Lycaon waking me up every morning. He even dragged me away when I didn't want to get up. Don't forget you were the one who helped him, his henchman." Lyall chuckled. "Then we'd run and train. I miss him." Zaiden sighed. Yes, he missed Lycaon too. He had been Lycaon's best friend since they were little. Where there's Lycaon, there's Zaiden. They're insep

That night, Eira paced back and forth in the forest near Carl's pack's alpha training ground. Occasionally, she peeked into the barracks and their surroundings. She seemed nervous and uneasy. She snuck out after dinner, telling her brother she was going to study for tomorrow's exam. Her brother wouldn't come into her room if she was studying for the exam. "What are you doing here, Eira?" a voice startled Eira. Eira froze for a moment, then slowly turned around. Zaiden was standing behind her. Eira breathed a sigh of relief. "You startled me. How did you know I was here?" Zaiden pointed to his ear. "Werewolf." "Ah... Right." Eira nodded. "And I could smell your nervousness from a mile away." "Re-really?" "Are you... okay? Do you want to see Karina? I'll call her." "No, no! Don't. I... I want to see you." "With me?" Eira nodded. “Uhm... I... I heard about Lyall.” “So?” “I... no, can you let me meet Lyall?” “Eira, I think—” “Please. Let me meet him just once.” Zaiden paused
