Punch after punch was heard clearly from a fairly large room. The punches sounded loud and echoed in the room without stopping. Even though it had happened many times, the punches did not decrease or weaken. They became stronger and harder. His body was covered in sweat that was flowing profusely. He also kicked occasionally.
"How long are you going to do that? Isn't that too much?" Zaiden walked over. Lyall ignored him, he continued to hit the punching bag. "Exercise makes you healthy but too much makes you sick." Lyall still ignored Zaiden. He continued to hit without stopping. "Gosh, that kid, he really ignoring me," Zaiden grumbled softly, even though he knew Lyall heard it clearly, thanks to his werewolf's sharp hearing. "HEY..... HELLOOOOOO???!!" Zaiden's shout made Lyall stop his punches. He took a deep breath and also rolled his eyes, but the next second, he returned to hitting the punching bag hanging in front of him. Zaiden snorted in annoyance. He threw the towel that landed right on Lyall's head and covered his face. "Oops.. Sorry.." Zaiden pursed his lips, holding back his laughter. Lyall snorted in annoyance and roughly removed the towel from his face and threw it anywhere. Without looking at Zaiden, Lyall hit the punching bag again. "Did you forget you have to go to school? You'll be late." Lyall ignored Zaiden's words, again. Zaiden snorted in annoyance. "Okay, I understand. You ignored me. But I'm sure Luna will be happy to scold you." Zaiden grumbled then sat down on one of the benches. Lyall stopped his punches and took a deep breath then looked at Zaiden. "I've told Mom. I won't go to school for whatever reason. So now stop whining! You're hurting my ears!" "Me? Whining?" Zaiden stood up from his seat. He looked at Lyall with a look of disbelief. Lyall shook his head and then went back to practicing his punches. "I'm not whining, but agreeing with your mother's words. You should go to school and be a normal teenager, just like other kids your age.” Bugh! A hard punch landed on the punching bag. The punch was much harder than Lyall’s punches earlier. Lyall stared at Zaiden angrily. “Normal you say? Do you think I’ve never tried? (walking closer to Zaiden) No matter how much I try to be normal, I won’t be able to be normal if this damn monster is still inside me!!” “Whoah calm down, no need to shout. I understand all that but—” “No.” Lyall interrupted quickly. “You won’t understand and you never will!” Lyall took his backpack and water bottle and immediately left there. Zaiden took a deep breath and then followed Lyall. Lyall opened the door to the room. There were already two boys the same age as him waiting for him. “Hey Ly, we have to go to school—“ one of the boys tried to talk to Lyall but Lyall just walked quickly past them without even looking at them. They both looked at each other confused. “Just ignore him,” Zaiden said who had just come out of the room. “You guys go first. I don’t want you to be late.” “But... Is he okay? He seems angry.” Asked one of them named Nathan. Zaiden chuckled. “It wouldn’t be Lyall if he wasn’t angry. He’s always like that.” The two teenagers nodded in unison. “Then we’ll go.” “Be careful. Oh yeah tell Theon, meet me in the forest south of the city.” “Are you guys going to train together again?” they looked enthusiastic. Zaiden laughed. “No, there’s just something I have to talk to him about directly, and I know he didn't like to use the phone. You guys go. I have to go too.” Zaiden left Nathan and Miro who were still staring at Zaiden’s departure. *** “Everything is ready Luna,” Zaiden said when he arrived in the kitchen. “Good, thank you. Let’s eat. After that please take Lycus and Lyall, can you?” Zaiden smiled. “Of course Luna, you don’t need to ask.” “Of course, I have to. You’re like my son. Sit down.” Stella put a pancake on a plate for Zaiden. True, after Zaiden’s mother died, Stella played the role of his mother. She took care of Zaiden like she was her child. Even Alpha Cyrus treated him like that. Zaiden sat down and started eating his pancake. Lyall came down the stairs lazily. He sighed several times. Lyall was wearing a white t-shirt paired with a light brown shirt and dark blue jeans. His brown hair was left messy. Lyall put his bag on the floor and sat on one of the chairs. “Can’t you fix your hair? Use gel!” Stella started her morning nagging. Lyall just took a deep breath. “Eat and go or you’ll be late.” “I’m not hungry,” Lyall answered shortly. He looked at his little brother who was now sticking his tongue out and making a mocking face at him. Lyall glared at him. “Eat a little.” Stella cut a pancake and put it in her mouth. “And the school here doesn’t have a uniform. You must be happy. Don’t you always say.. Uhmm.. What is that..” “School uniforms are the most childish thing,” Zaiden replied. Stella nodded quickly. “Right! School uniforms are the most childish thing.” Lyall spun his eyes ball and took a deep breath then grabbed his bag and stood up. “I’m leaving.” “Hey, hey you haven’t had breakfast. Zaiden hasn’t finished either!” his mother protested. “Why do I care? I’m tired of hearing nonsense this early in the morning.” Lyall walked out of the house. “Oh my god, that kid.” “I’ll catch up with him Luna.” Zaiden got up from his seat. “But you haven’t finished yet.” “I’m done and full. Thank you for breakfast Luna. I’ll excuse myself.” Zaiden jogged after Lyall. “That kid.” Stella sighed and looked at Lycal. “Looks like you’re going with Uncle Carl today.” Stella smiled at Lycal who was still busy eating his breakfast. Stella arranged some plates and took them to the dishwasher. She looked out the window in front of the dishwasher. In the backyard, she saw her brothers, Carl and Dal, talking outside. Unconsciously her tears flowed. She quickly wiped them away so that Lycal wouldn’t see them. *** “Can’t we go slower?” This was the umpteenth time Zaiden asked and spoke to Lyall but not a single word came out of Lyall’s mouth. “It’s easier by car, why choose to walk? Usually, you always complain when have to walk or practice.” Zaiden grumbled, which, of course Lyall heard clearly. The school wasn’t that far from their house. Only ten minutes by car. Walking sometimes took longer, but with the view of the forest on the left and right of the road, it looked very beautiful, and the air was also fresh. Lyall lived in a small town surrounded by forests and small rivers. The small town of Fortress Hill has a small pack, but they are known to be solid. Lyall's uncle's pack, Luna Stella's pack, Raclaw's pack. "But I just noticed it, what's with the wounds on your forehead and neck?" Zaiden quickened his pace so he could walk parallel to Lyall. Lyall was a little surprised but he managed to hide it. "As usual, injured during training." Lyall finally answered. Zaiden suddenly stopped in front of Lyall, blocking him from walking. Lyall also stopped his steps. "It doesn't look like a training wound." Zaiden frowned. Lyall stared at Zaiden flatly then pushed him away and walked again. "You're lying, right? I know you're lying (aligning himself with Lyall again). I know you very well, Ly." Lyall stopped his steps suddenly and then looked at Zaiden. "Why are you so interested in my life? Do you like me?" Zaiden's expression turned pitiful. "You really hurt my heart. I thought you already knew that." “Eww! You’re so disgusting!” Lyall walked away quickly, leaving Zaiden, who was laughing at Lyall’s reaction. Lyall touched the wound on his forehead. He didn't know why the wound not heal yet. This was all because of that girl. *** “Have you taken your schedule and books?” asked a middle-aged man with a fat body and a thin head of hair on top. “Yes." Lyall replied flatly, seeming not to care. “Good, very good, and wow... You are really tall and very handsome one. I’m sure the girls here will like you.” The man teased but Lyall didn’t give any reaction. “Ahem... Okay. Let me take you to your class. Now you have... Uhmm history lesson. I will introduce you to your classmates.” “Is that really have to?” Lyall hated the idea. “I can go to the class by myself.” “No, no. I am your homeroom teacher, and I have to introduce the new kid to his friends. Let’s go.” The man walked first to class. Lyall rolled his eyes and snorted in annoyance. He planned to skip school after finishing the administration at this school. The new kid entering during class time was really annoying. He thought public school would be different. The students would find their own class. But Lyall’s hopes were dashed just like that. Damn! “Sorry to disturb your studies, children. I will introduce your new friend. Come in.” No answer nor anyone was entering the class. “Young man. Mr. Lycaros. You may enter now.” With a heavy heart and annoyance inside him, Lyall entered the class. Noisy voices began to be heard from the female students. Not a few male students also commented. How could they not,? A new boy with a tall height, proportional body, hand, and some face with a firm jaw had just entered their class. “Okay, children. Calm down. I know you can't wait to get to know him. Let him introduce himself. Please, Mr. Lycaros.” Lyall just kept quiet and lowered his head. He hated this idea. But everyone was staring and waiting for him. He had to spoke so he can end this staring contest. “Hi.” Lyall raised his head and looked at his classmate. “I'm Lyall.” No more words came out of Lyall's mouth again. He didn't want to talk more than that. Moreover, his eyes were currently focused on one person in the class. "Is that all?" The homeroom teacher waited for Lyall's answer. Lyall remained silent. "Okay. Then you can sit on the empty seat over there." The homeroom teacher left the class while Lyall did not move. His body froze, staring at one person in the class. The weird girl, Eira. Eira was also quite surprised to see Lyall and looked very displeased. "Lyall!" the sound of his teacher's call interrupted his reverie. Lyall looked at his history teacher. "You can sit and I have to continue my lesson." Lyall nodded. "You can sit on the empty seat next to Eira." Wait, what? Next to who? "What are you waiting for? We can't wait you all day. Hurry up." Arrgghhh this fucked up!Lyall sat on the school cafeteria bench staring out the window. He didn't know why he was there. In his head, he just wanted to get out of school, but his legs dragged him to the cafeteria. More precisely his hungry stomach. But after getting a tray full of food, he didn't eat it. He just stared at the food with a frown on his forehead and folded his arms in front of his chest. Not long after, several children his age sat at the same table and even sat next to Lyall carrying trays full of food each. Two of them, Nathan and Miro asked him to go to school together this morning. They laughed and threw food at each other. Lyall rolled his eyes and then snorted in annoyance. "Oho... Look. It seems like this prince looks upset." One of them, Trey, started to mock. "Hey!! Don't be like that to him. He's a prince! A royal." Luciano said the word A Royal dramatically. "Forgive him, Your Highness. He has a mental issue." This time Luciano seemed to mock him. "What? So (throws some chips
The kitchen was busy early in the morning. Eira flipped the pancakes she made and prepared plates and cutlery. But only two plates. Then she filled one glass with milk and two other glasses with coffee. Since her mother passed away a year ago, Eira has been in charge of cooking in the kitchen. Eira placed the pancakes one by one on the two plates, along with the arrival of one of her brothers, Charlie. "Morning, sweetheart." Charlie put his bag on the floor and sat on one of the chairs. "Hmm.... The smell of the pancakes is amazing." Eira just kept quiet hearing her brother's praise. She added syrup to the pancakes and then washed her cooking utensils. "How was school?" Charlie put a small piece of pancake in his mouth. "As usual." Eira sat on her chair. "If there is a problem, tell me. Anything." Charlie asked but Eira just stared at him for a moment and then drank it. Charlie looked at his only sister. His sister was indeed a quiet child, but usually, she would tell him any
The sound of fast footsteps and gasping breaths could be heard on one side of the Fortress Hill forest. It got faster and faster. Lyall tried to push his limits. He kept running non-stop for a few minutes, until his legs gave out. He ran through the forest, up the hill, and over the rocky path. After a few minutes had passed, Lyall stopped running. He bent his body for a moment then stood back up and put his hands on his hips. Sweat was pouring down his muscular body. He was not wearing a shirt. Only his black shorts and running shoes. This was the second time he had changed his shoes because he had run too much. It seemed like his training craze was getting bigger. Suddenly Lyall's body froze. He sharpened his hearing. He was sure he heard something and it was fast. Lyall looked around and was alert. Something seemed to be circling him. That thing became closer to him and.. Zaiden came out of the bushes and laughed. Lyall snorted in annoyance. "Did I scare you?" Zaiden teased wi
Zaiden was still standing quite a distance from Lyall and Eira. He watched them silently. Lyall should have turned into a monster and Zaiden was wary of that. But nothing happened. He heard Lyall's heartbeat which was still beating faster than normal. But not as fast as before. "What's wrong? Has he changed?" asked Theon who had just arrived. "Uhmm... I don't know. I don't understand. He should have changed by now, seeing his condition earlier. But this is strange.." Zaiden was silent for a moment. "Wait, what are you doing here?" "I thought you needed help." "No Theon, you could get hurt or die." "Then you don't?" Theon looked at Zaiden then sighed. "Two is better than one. And beta is on his way here. While alpha is out of town but beta has informed him." Zaiden nodded. "For now, let's just watch." "Wait, that's... Eira." Theon said while pointing at Eira. "Eira? Who is she?” “The third child of the Lurvine couple.” “Lurvine? That name sounds very familiar. Where
Lyall hurriedly put on his shirt then grabbed his bag and went downstairs. Yes, he was going to be late. He really couldn't sleep for the past two nights since the incident in the forest. He was still thinking about what happened two days ago. He was sure he would change. But strangely when he looked into Eira's eyes, everything changed. But why? His father once said that if he met his mate, he would know for sure. He would experience changes, from his heart beating erratically when he was near her, her natural scent that only he could smell and one thing for sure, he would be madly in love with our mate. Lyall tried to remember if he felt all that. No, he didn't find any memories of it. Instead, he wanted to get as far away from Eira as he could and of course, for him, Eira was a strange girl. Lyall headed to the dining room. "Good morning, Lyall." Greeted his uncle who was also the alpha of RaClaws, Carl. Carl came to Lyall's house early in the morning bringing beta Ron. For so
The bell rang. Lyall quickly grabbed his bag and left the classroom. He left as fast as he could to avoid Miro. “Why are you walking so fast?” Miro asked, who was starting to have difficulty keeping up with Lyall. “None of your business and stop following me.” “I’m just curious. If she’s really your mate, then—” Lyall stopped walking and glared at Miro. “I know I’m still a teenager, but I’m an alpha. My bite is deadly for you. So don’t make me upset.” Lyall turned around and started walking again. “But I’m curious. They are too. You’ve found a mate at a young age! There’s no one like you.” “Gosh, you’re so nosey.” Lyall said as he continued walking. “That’s amazing. Come on, admit it. She’s your mate, right?” Lyall was annoyed and didn’t want to answer anything Miro said. They were really nosey. It made him sick. “Lyal.” Lyall ignored the call. “Lyall.” Lyall was still walking out of school. “Lyall.” “WHAT?! Can you stop calling me?!” Lyall shouted. Several
“Do you know me?” Lyall asked the two vampires in front of him. “Oh yeah sure. You’re quite famous.” Nick replied. “Come on... Just hand over the girl. We have to do something about her.” “Be patient, Pierre.” “But Your Majesty...” Brukk! Eira fainted behind Lyall. Lyall and Miro were shocked. “Eira?” Lyall shook Eira’s body gently. But Eira had fainted. Blood was still dripping a little from her neck. “Did she bleed out? (stands up and looks at the vampires) this is all because of you!” Miro shouted. “Oho...calm down young dog.” Pierre tried to calm him down. “Wolf.” Miro growled. “Okay, wolf. There’s no difference. Even your smell is similar to dogs. But your smell is more like a wet dog which ugh is hard to—“ “Pierre...” Nick scolded “Okay, sorry. But it’s not entirely our fault.”“It’s not your fault? You’re crazy. I don’t care if you’re vampires, demons, ghosts, or whatever. But you hurt our friend and sucked all her blood!” Miro growled. His breath was irregular. “
FLASHBACK Scott rang the doorbell of an apartment. Soon a man opened the door. "Scott?" the man looked surprised. "Hey Alex." "It's been so long since I've seen you. You just disappeared!" "I'm sorry about that. Can I come in? I want to talk to you about something." "Sure, come in." Scott walked nervously into the apartment. He drove his car miles away to meet Alex. "I just made breakfast, do you want some? Coffee?" "I'm fine." "Are you sure?" Alex asked, looking at Scott from the kitchen of his apartment. "You don't look okay Scott. Look at your appearance. You're a mess. Drink it." Alex handed him a cup of coffee that he had just made. Scott walked slowly to the kitchen table and took a sip. "What's wrong with you? Where have you been all this time? You just disappeared. Your brother even came looking for you that time. Then he said you were home and just like that, no explanation. You never even picked up my phone.” Alex grumbled. “I… I need your help.” “Help?” “I kn
Charlie walked back and forth in Eira's room, while Eira was still lying on the bed and unconscious. The door opened and Scott entered the room. "Get some rest. I'll keep watch." Scott offered. "I... I just can't understand. How could she... go into the forest, barefoot, not wearing any warm clothes. What was on her mind?!" Charlie became hysterical again. He kept asking the same thing several times. "Maybe she missed something important or maybe she remembered the wolf—" "But why? Why didn't she think about her safety?!" "Come on Charlie, the important thing is that she's safe. We'll ask her later when she wakes up and feels better." "I really don't understand it.. (still walking back and forth in front of Eira's bed) I really can't." “Come on Charlie..” “After our parents died, whatever the reason, I promised in front of our parents’s graves and to myself that I would take care of you, keep you safe (sits on the edge of Eira’s bed). Because of that, I dismissed why our paren
Eira was still sitting on the ground. She was very surprised by what she saw. Lyall's wolf stood in front of Eira and growled harshly at the three wolves in front of her. Lyall turned to Eira, who was still sitting on the ground and scared, then looked back at the three wolves. 'Who are you?' Lyall asked. But the three wolves did not answer. One of the wolves attacked Lyall. Lyall quickly dodged and attacked back. Eira got up then ran and took cover in one of the trees. She watched the wolves fight. Lyall bit one of the wolves and tore its flesh. Not finished, another wolf attacked too. Lyall dodged the wolf's attack and then kicked it. The wolf was knocked down, but he immediately got up and attacked again. He tried to bite Lyall. While another wolf approached Eira. Eira was shocked and slowly backed away. Lyall saw that and immediately pushed away the wolf that attacked then bit him. Lyall jumped towards the wolf that was approaching Eira. They rolled kicking and biting each othe
Of course, as expected. Zaiden would tease him. Even in front of his mother, making his mother not stop asking. And also his uncle who repeatedly asked if they were dating. What a mess! His mother asked, of course, because she wanted to know if Eira was her son's mate. Because everyone knows, the one who can save Lyall is his mate. While his uncle, was worried about him. Scott had become a full supernatural guardian, which meant the law also applied to Eira. Not allowed to have a lover from the supernatural side. Lyall snorted in annoyance as he closed his locker. Because Miro kept talking. He kept asking about his relationship with Eira, making him sick. "Well yeah, I know you don't want to talk about it—" "So stop asking or talking about it. You make me sick." "It's just that I'm not the only one talking about it." Lyall walked away. He saw a group of Trey and his wolf friends. Lyall stopped in his steps. "Oh shit." Lyall turned around and wanted to leave but it was to
“So what about it Scott? You have to do it. We all promised you.” “He’s so stupid. How could he just believe it.” Odys blurted out. “Mr. Odys, please. Don’t provoke him and make things worse. That’s not helpful.” Carl, who was initially reluctant to comment on anything Odys said, gave him a comment this time. He was fed up with Odys who kept trying to make things worse. “Me?! Making things worse?! That’s amazing! You already feel like you’re the greatest!” “I don’t feel great at anything. I just want this to end. We all want that. Didn’t you say you didn’t want to waste time?” “If you make the deal, you, your brother and sister are protected. No supernatural beings can hurt you.” Darius explained. Scott laughed mockingly. “No one was hurt? Then what about my parents? They were killed! Even though they made the oath!” “That can’t be confirmed—“ “So, you’re saying I’m lying?” Scott interrupted quickly. “I didn’t say it like that, Mr. Lurvine. We’ll investigate of course.” “And
