MasukSEQUEL TO TWO ALPHAS AND A LIE... His eyes sent shivers rushing through me as I tried to process what was going on. "Did you just say..." I stammered as my heart began to pound painfully in my chest. "To forget that I found you?" How could he stand there and say that with such a straight face? Wasn't he feeling the same way that I did? That all consuming want to be near and the flutter of butterflies just from our being near? "I have no intentions on ever accepting a mate." He said slowly, his eyes growing darker. "Especially a lycan one." His words felt like knives piercing into my heart. He was rejecting me. He was really standing here rejecting me and not even giving me a chance. "Why?" I asked slumping to the ground. "Because mates and love are fucking ridiculous." He hissed. I couldn't move, couldn't breath as he turned and began to move. He was leaving and I didn't have the strength to call for him or chase after him. I watched from my place on the ground as he continued to move further and further away. My mind was reeling and my breathing was becoming difficult. How was it even possible that I had managed to find my mate after all the chaos and the person that was destined for me was the one that I absolutely couldn’t touch? Feeling tears beginning to prick at my eyes, I laid down against the cold dirt. Never in my life did I think I would cry due to emotion, but fuck I was in pain.

I was only five, innocent and clueless. I was made to stand on a platform in the center of the a dark room. I didn’t understand why I was there or why I wasn’t wearing clothes on my body. All I knew was that there were men, lots of them in black suits and their eyes were locked on me like vicious predators. Thick cigars sat between their fingers, and each one had a scary man behind him, also dressed in black suits and shades. Those men standing occasionally whispered things to the ones sitting. "Four hundred thousand dollars!" a deep voice shouted. "Eight hundred thousand!" another voice countered. Emily was the only woman in the room, she stood beside me and whisper instructions to me. She was the closest thing I had to a mother. She taught me everything I knew at that age. I only got to know that she wasn't my mother when her son Daniel, who was two years older than me told me. Emily was a care taker employed to look after me and this place was the only home I’d known, for as long as I could remember. I wasn't allowed to leave my room or interact with anyone else except Emily and her son, Daniel. I didn’t even know where I came from, or how I got here. However, Every night I kept having this scary dream of two cold bodies in a pool of blood. A blonde woman, naked, her thighs looking like they’d been broken with force and the second body, was that of. A headless man, lying beside her. I had no idea who they were, or why I kept dreaming of them. Emily touched my shoulder gently, then she leaned in, and whispered, “Turn around, sweetie.” I obeyed and turned slowly. “Five million!” A man suddenly called from the back. The room went quiet for a moment, no one could challenge that amount. A man in a gray suit approached us and whispered something in Emily's ear. She nodded quickly, then turned to me with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. “Come on, sweetie, let’s get back to your room.” It was finally over, I stepped off the platform and gazed up at her. She smiled back weakly, held my hand and walked me down the narrow hallway, back to my room. I could still hear the men talking and laughing behind us. “She’ll make a nice doll for my boss” one voice said with a chuckle. I didn’t know what that meant but somehow, I knew it wasn't good. Daniel, Emily's son was inside my room, reading when the door opened. My eyes lit up when I saw him but as soon as he stood up , he walked to his mother and asked the question I hate to hear. “Can we go home now, Mom?” “Just a minute, honey. I need to get Aria ready,” she said, and brought out a new dress from a fancy bag. She got me all dressed up after which she knelt down, looked me in the eyes, and touched my cheek. “You did great out there, sweetie,” she said softly. “So brave. I’m proud of you.” I looked up at her. “Am I going somewhere?" She paused, then sighed and brushed my long hair behind my ear. “Yes.” “With you and Daniel?” I asked again. She smiled — the kind of smile that meant “no.” Then she shook her head, her eyes were sad. “No, sweetheart. But you’ll be taken good care of. It’s… it’s…” She paused, as if the words were too heavy to say. “It’s a .....a...good family. They will adopt you. You have to do whatever they say so they’ll take good care of you. Understand?” She had tears in her eyes. Seeing her like that, summoned tears in my own eyes and I allowed them to roll freely down my cheeks. “Hey, honey, you don’t have to cry. I promise to visit,” she said gently and cleaned my face. “I don’t want to go anywhere. I’m scared,” I sobbed and hugged her tightly. She wrapped her arms around me and kissed my forehead. "It's okay honey, it's okay". She whispered and consoled me. Daniel came over and joined the hug. Just then, the door opened. Daniel immediately stepped back in fear as two scray looking tall men in black suits walked into the room.[Leah's POV]I looked around the table at all the smiling faces who were here to celebrate my 21st birthday. Even though I insisted that I didn't want to celebrate because I needed to study for Ian's herbal medicine quiz the next day, Thia insisted. After all, according to her, that was the day that I became a true adult."Auntie Leah," Serenity murmured, fixing her large blue gaze on mine. "Why do you look so unhappy?"For only five, she most certainly was perceptive. However, how could I possibly say that I wasn't happy because the one person I hoped to see here wasn't present?"I'm okay." I murmured, jostling her dark wavy hair that was the exact color of Haidan's. "I'm just tired.""You're lying, auntie." My nephew, Devlin, huffed."Leave your poor auntie alone." Thia snapped, shooting a glare towards her son. "Today is to celebrate, not to interrogate.""But...""No buts, young man." Ashton warned, making his way to the table from the kitchen. As he took his seat beside Thia, I s
[Thia's POV]I stood on the stage, staring out into the crowd of familiar faces and strangers. Today was the day of my ceremony to become luna of Ashton's pack, and I still found myself unable to believe that this was happening. After recovering from Lord Santos' attack and saving the world as we knew it, you would think that I would be happy to be going through something like this. However, it was nerve-wracking and my heart was hammering in my chest.Sweeping my eyes across the crowd of onlookers, I found my siblings standing in the center, smiling. The twins were thrilled that their older sister was being made a 'queen' and Leah was happy to be getting more involved with pack life.Letting out a breath, I looked at Ashton as he made his way towards me. A brilliant smile played on his lips and his eyes were ablaze with delight as he reached out and took my hands for all to see."Don't be nervous. Otherwise you'll stress out Devlin. " Ashton murmured, leaning in close to my ear.As
[Ashton's POV]My heart pounded in my chest as we raced towards the portal that would take us back to our world. For some reason, I had a bad feeling that something was happening there and didn't want Thia to be put in any more danger. When we arrived at the portal, Haidan and Antoine were the first to go through, followed by Asher, leaving only Thia and I."Go!" I called as Thia eyed it. "I'll be right behind you.""But…""What a cute scene."Shit, shifting my gaze from Thia, I looked to where a large man with glowing red eyes and long black hair was making his way towards us."You," Thia growled, seeming to recognize him. "Seems you discovered my escape quicker than I thought.""Go!" I called, grabbing Thia and jumping through the portal.Light swirled around us as wind tore at our skin before we tumbled onto the ground of our hideout in the inbetween."Why did you do that?" Thia hissed, quickly getting to her feet."What's wrong?" Haidan asked Antoine, drawing our attention."Brail
[Thia's POV]I watched with wide eyes as Andrew and Ashton rolled around on the ground. I was having a hard time believing what was directly in front of me and couldn't help but wonder if it was a dream.'Get out of here, Haidan and Antoine are waiting by the window.' Ashton huffed as I remained in place.'I'm not leaving you.'How could he possibly expect me to just up and leave while he was fighting a powerful vampire?Looking around, I tried to find something that could be used as a weapon. When I spotted a torch sitting against the wall, I began to move.I weaved in and out of the bodies that were locked in battle until I reached what I was after. I could only hope it wouldn't be too hard to dislodge without my lycan strength. Reaching up, I wrapped my hands around the smooth wood and began to pull. After a few tugs, it began to move, and then, with a loud crack, it snapped, giving me the perfect edge to do what I had in mind.Turning, I quickly ran back to where I left Andrew an
