Marly POV I staggered backwards under the pressure of the slap. I put a hand to my cheek and held it on the throbbing spot on my face. “What the hell?” I demanded, as I watched the woman walk into the room and slam my door. She locked it behind her, and caused me a moment of panic as I took in her stance, “Who are you?” she asked me. “Who the hell are you?” I replied. She looked me up and down. I was still in my torn dress with Carson’s suit jacket covering my body. “I am the Luna of the Full Moon Pack,” she responded proudly. I looked at her, “My understanding is that you are the acting Luna,” I said calmly. Seeing her face go red gave me a brief moment of happiness, until she grabbed the jacket and ripped it from my body. A chill rolled over my body, as I simply stood there in shock. “You heard wrong,” she stated, before repeating, “Who are you and why are you wearing Carson’s jacket?” she demanded. Carson POV I heard Marly’s door slam and sat up in bed pulling on my gym shorts. Had she stormed out of her room? Was she not tired after the trip and the day she had? I opened my door but saw nothing so perhaps she had simply gone back to her room. I started to close the door when I heard voices coming from across the hall. I walked over and stood for a moment. She knew nobody so it would make no sense that she would have anybody visit with her. I was just about to knock when I heard something hit the wall hard. I pounded on the door, “Marly?” I shouted, trying to listen for her reply. There was nothing. I started slamming my body against the door, cursing the strength of our buildings to withstand an attack. I heard more crashing inside the room and knew I needed to get in there. I raised my foot and slammed it into the door handle. The wood splintered and the door flew open. I was able to enter the room.

Marly POV I cannot believe I just suggested that. My heart was racing. I was leaving soon. What was I thinking suggesting we sleep together. Well not “sleep” together; just sleep. That is all. I was moving around him when his hand reached out and stopped me. “I am sure we can handle one night, don’t you think?” he teased. I do not know why I am feeling this way, but for some reason I feel comfortable with Carson. It makes me a little sad that things could not work out between us, but an Alpha Lycan needs a strong mate. An equal and I was far from equal. Marly POV Warm. I was so warm, and there was a weight on my body. I could not move away from the heat source. I groaned, as my eyes were still closed, and I had no sense of where I was. I wiggled around, trying to dislodge the weight across my body. I had to use the washroom, and the delay was adding unwanted pressure on my body. My eyes slowly opened, forcing me to remember the events before I fell asleep. I gasped and whipped my body around, effectively waking the person who was keeping me warm. “Good morning,” Carson mumbled as he stretched. As he did, hardness was poking my body. I felt my face go red with embarrassment. I had sex before but had never woken up with somebody. And I was limited in my experience. “Where are my pillows?!?” I shrieked, remembering my wall of pillows that were supposed to keep us separated. Carson chuckled, “They were in the way,” he teased, as he swung his legs over the side of the bed.

Carson POV I was pissed that Marly was so obedient as to bow to Jenna. I knew this was a problem, and I had no idea how to fix it. Marly would need to be stronger, if she were to take over as Luna. But Jenna would fight all the way to retain the title. It was no secret that the Elders wanted me to take Jenna as my mate. Now that Marly was here, I could not see myself with anybody else but her. It was fucked up. How did I end up mated with an Omega? Anything else would be easy to defend, but an Omega was going to be a challenge. But I loved a challenge, I thought with a smirk. “Marly is not going anywhere,” I found myself saying. I felt like everything was getting away from me. I wanted the chance to see what could happen between Marly and me. I also did not want to hurt her. I knew she had her own doubts in who she was. It made me want her more. Made me want to show her what I saw, when I looked at her.

Jeff tensed as Sarah looked visible taken aback. “She is more than prepared for her duties,” Jeff stated angrily. Timothy’s view slowly landed on Marly. I could feel her try to hide behind me. I gently pulled her forward, “I heard you have a mate, Carson. Surely, this is a joke?” he demanded. My anger rose, as I felt Marly shrink in front of him. “No joke, Timothy. And none of your business,” I replied, as I made a move to step around him.
