(TWO YEARS AGO)
(ARES KINCAID)
A loud, shrilly scream filled the dark, quiet forest. Birds resting peacefully flew away, flapping and squawking, as my Lycan wolf growled inside my head.
"FIND HER!" His voice was a loud snarl. He was using his Alpha voice on me?!
"I am not really in any shape to be a hero tonight, Storm! I am dead drunk," I slurred as I walked inside the dark forest following the scent.
Storm snarled. I didn’t know why he felt so overprotective right now of this girl. We didn’t even know who she was. "GO!"
I started running into the woods and a loud growl made me pause for a second, and my heart twisted when a small whimper followed the growl.
I could now see the massive wolf standing over the tiny girl. Her body was trembling in fear, but even when she knew she was going to die, there was also a spark of anger in her eyes. A touch of fire. My heart gave a mighty tug as I looked at her.
I knew I had to save her. I couldn't let her die in this cold forest, alone and afraid.
"Tell the bitch I will come back to haunt her," the girl hissed as she glared at the massive beast. "I won't let her rest."
The wolf snarled closer to her face, his mouth frothing at the side, and I knew it was time to shift and go be a hero.
I quickly removed my clothes and I stumbled out of the bush, still not transformed. It must be the overwhelming amount of alcohol in my system.
The wolf whirled around, staring at me with his beady eyes. “F*ck."
He was huge for a werewolf, and if I didn’t shift now, there was no way in hell I was going to save myself, let alone save the girl.
“Storm, ideas? You wanted to save the girl.”
Storm looked at the trembling girl and his anger skyrocketed, and before I knew it, I felt a ripping pain and I was transformed into my Lycan wolf without my control. He was taking over.
Storm quickly barrelled toward the wolf, giving him no chance to defend himself.
He plunged his paw into the wolf's chest and ripped out its heart in one swift motion. Blood seeped from the wound as the wolf transformed, and the man fell to the ground, writhing and groaning until he finally went still. Storm kicked the lifeless body aside with a growl before crushing the heart and slicing through its muscle with his sharp claws. Throwing it away like it was garbage, he turned to the girl, his eyes turning worried.
I had no idea why my Lycan was acting like a possessed beast.
The girl looked up from the ground, her eyes hazy, and then she smiled groggily before standing up. She took a step closer to Storm, and her trembling fingers reached Storm’s chin. "You are a good man- wolf..."
It was strange to hear her say that. Was I, though? I winced a little.
"I am really not. I am a fucking mess." I didn't know why I was confiding to this strange girl, but I couldn't stop. "I- I abandoned my pack. I can't be the Alpha and I can't do anything to-"
She looked at me, her eyes soft and soothing as her fingers ran along my Lycan's arms.
"You saved me. You are a good man. And you will be a good Alpha, too, and-” She stumbled back and Storm grabbed her by her shoulders. She groaned and closed her eyes, leaning closer to my wolf. He was so fucking giddy that she was responding to him. But why? Who the hell was this nameless girl?
He put his big paws around her back, and she sighed, burying her face in his hairy chest.
“Are you alright?” Storm asked, his voice gravelly. She mumbled something under her breath, her words incoherent. She was losing a lot of blood from the wounds on her arm.
And then, out of nowhere, I shifted back to myself, standing completely naked with a girl pressed against my body. I felt my throat go dry and my heart jumped when I felt her body against mine. She was so soft and lush. Her skin felt like satin under my fingers.
“Let go.”
“No…” she whispered, tightening her arms around me. “Don’t go.”
“I need to- I am naked here,” I said, my voice hoarse.
One eye lazily popped open before she sighed. “I don’t mind,” she breathed out, and I gasped as she pressed further into my body. “I don’t want to- to be alone. Please hold me. I am so cold and you are so, so warm,” she slurred.
“I will just grab my shirt and then-”
She tightened her grip, and I wasn’t- I- fuck… my c*ck was twitching slightly from being so close to a warm, lush body. I felt like a pervert. A drunk pervert.
This was not the time or the place.
What the fuck is wrong with me?
I pried her hands away. "Give me a second. I'll get dressed and then take you to the hospital," I grunted. I moved towards the bushes, took my clothes, and quickly pulled them on. After that, I grabbed the whiskey bottle and took a long gulp, then another, to calm myself down.
When I walked back to her, she was leaning against a tree with her eyes closed. There was no response when I called her.
Taking my phone out from my pocket, I called the emergency number. It took me a few tries to tell them where we were. I took her hands in mine, rubbing them to keep her warm. "Hey, you are alright."
After a few minutes, I could hear a van approaching, and soon two men and a woman walked towards us. They pulled her up and put her on the gurney before one of them turned to me. "Are you coming?"
I shook my head in response. The man then looked at the dead wolf lying next to me and let out a sigh.
“No, just take care of her. Here.” I reached into my wallet and gave him enough Euvens to cover her expenses for the next three days of her hospital stay.
The EMT nodded and walked away, leaving me alone in the dark once again, with only the dead body a few feet away for company.
I woke up with a start, my head pounding. I had no idea where I was. When I looked to my side, I winced at the sight of the lifeless body next to me. "Damn, that's gruesome," I muttered, staring at him and trying to remember why I had killed the bastard.
“Storm?”
“Do not disturb me for a month."
***
I staggered inside the pack house and hissed when my best friend stopped me.
"What the hell happened to you?" Kai exclaimed as he noticed my grimy, bloody shirt. "You reek of alcohol and blood. Whose blood is that?"
"Well, it's my good deed for the day, or night," I replied. "I killed a wolf and saved a girl. I'm a fucking hero, Kai."
Kai let out a deep sigh as he looked me over, trying to gauge the seriousness of the situation.
"I know it's tough, but you need to snap out of it, Ares. If you don't, things are going to go downhill quickly," Kai said sternly. "You're the Alpha now, whether you like it or not, and you can't go around doing things like this."
"I never wanted to be Alpha," I hissed back. "Brian- he should be the Alpha, Kai. He shouldn't be locked up."
"It's unfortunate, Ares, but it's the way things are now, and we have to deal with it. This is your pack, and we're all counting on you."
“I don’t want the responsibilities. I can’t run the pack. And Azalea… she's only three years old. How am I supposed to take care of a baby? What do I even know? Does she poop?"
"Of course she does," Kai replied with a frown. "But you're not alone in this. We're all here to support you, but you need to start acting like an Alpha and stop behaving like a drunk asshole."
I took a deep breath and looked at Kai, seeing how worried he was. "I'm sorry."
“You needed time. But now, it is time to act like the Alpha you are."
He was right. I remembered the voice telling me I would be a good Alpha, but how would I know if I spent all my time drinking? I sighed, realizing that I needed to step up and take responsibility for my pack and for Azalea.
“Yes, Alpha.”
“Kai, will you be my Beta?” There was no one better for the job.
"Absolutely, yes!" Kai replied, accepting the position.
I stared out at the endless stretch of land and woods beyond my pack's territory, my mind consumed with thoughts of the one man I couldn't wait to obliterate. To achieve that, I knew I had to stop drinking and become more powerful.
I turned to Kai, my eyes filled with anger. "Alpha Albert Adams will rue the day he came for my family. One day, I will make him pay. I will take away everything he loves and cherishes."

(ELYN FROST)
The night was as dark as the large wolf chasing me through the thick woods.
My lungs burned, but I couldn't stop now. Stopping meant a bloody, painful death, and Luna Amelia would dance over my grave. I wouldn't give that bitch the satisfaction. Never.
Faster. Faster. The words rang inside my head. But no matter how fast I ran, he was always right behind me.
I had no wolf to match him.
When I turned sixteen, I was excited to meet my wolf, to hear her voice. I waited all day long, but she never came.
Everyone in the pack talked about the curious case of Elyn Frost and dubbed me a freak. And a freak, I had been since then.
A frustrated whimper escaped my lips as I stumbled on a root and fell.
Air stilled for a moment. It was eerily quiet, and then the wolf came bounding out of the dense trees with a loud growl. I felt his sharp claws scratching along my arms, ripping my sleeves away.
He raised his paws, ready to deliver the final blow...
Screaming, I woke up, shuddering.
I looked around, noticing the white walls, and the heavy smell of antiseptic hung in the air. I should be dead by now.
Am I already dead?
The last thing I remembered was being chased by a wolf.
“Luna Amelia,” I hissed as the door opened and she walked in. If I was dead, I must be in hell, because Luna Amelia was my hell.
She peered down at me, her face a mask of feigned concern. My father sighed, looking exasperated.
"Why do you always do this to yourself, Elyn?" he asked, as though I were to blame for being chased by a murderous wolf.
Deep down, he knew it was Luna's fault, but he kept quiet. The guilt of what he had done to her had made him spineless and blind.
"Do you think I sent a freaking wolf after myself to hunt and kill me?" I asked with a malicious smile.
“Why did you have to leave our pack? You are safe here.”
"Am I? Am I safe here, Alpha Albert?" I growled, as he shook his head. He had given up on me the moment I was born. He had never been a father to me anyway.
"Just two weeks ago, Ella Cohen and her bullies dragged me through the forest and tied me to a tree." I pointed to the rope burn that still hadn't fully healed. "This is what they did, and what did you do?"
"I punished them. They were just being silly kids."
My body burned with anger. They weren't being silly. They were bullies and psychopaths.
I spent the entire night in the cold, my teeth chattering, tears trailing down my cheeks. Everything in me had gone numb from the cold, and the rope had cut off my circulation. And here was my father, telling me they were just being silly kids. No, fuck it.
That was the reason I left the pack, but now I was back here again. STUCK!
“You know what? Leave,” I hissed. He growled, his Alpha wolf hating the disrespect, but he left.
“I know you sent the wolf to kill me, Amelia."
She had always wanted to get rid of me, the black spot in her perfect life.
"What are you talking about? Why - I would never do that," she said.
Lies. All lies.
"I know it was you. I know you were the one who told Ella to do that. But you know what, Luna Amelia? I won't die. Not until after I watch you die. And your death, I pray every day, will be cruel. Your eyes crushed into your skull. A stone smashed into-"
"You are a terrible girl. Maybe that's why you never got your wolf," she said with a derisive smile.
"I don't care about the wolf," I only half lied. "Get the hell out."
The door to the room opened and my frown turned into a smile when I saw Liam walking in.
“Oh, you- you should never, ever do that to me,” he said as he sat next to me. “El, I will kill you if you ever leave without telling me where the hell you are going.”
“Liam, why are you here?” Amelia gave him a bitter look.
“Because she is my best friend, Luna Amelia." He knew about her, but not everything. "So a wolf tried to kill you?”
“Yes, but how did I end up here?"
"Yeah. Someone saved you. You don’t remember?" Liam asked, taking my hand. ”
Amelia grunted and walked away, leaving us alone. I gazed into Liam’s beautiful hazel eyes, and the pain subsided. “Who saved me?”
“Some guy. Now go back to sleep, lovely El.”

TWO YEARS LATER... (ARES) "No, Brian. Stop. It is me..." But he clawed and growled. My heart twisted when I looked at the way Brian's neck fell limply to his side as the doctor injected him with the mixture of watered down aconitum, nightshade, and valerian root extract to weaken his wolf, and concentrated extracts of madwort and yarrow seed to keep him sedated. Doctor Riker had come up with this concoction especially to help my brother sleep and help his Lycan wolf calm down. "Will he ever get better, doctor Riker?" Doctor Riker shook his head, scratching his chin, his eyes grave. "We will never know. I am doing everything I can, Alpha, but it has been two years," the doctor said. "I will leave you with your brother, Alpha." Brian looked nothing like the man I once knew. Happy, kind, strong. He was THE ALPHA, and now, he was reduced to this- this animal, who only scratched and howled. "Come back, Brian," I whispered. "Azalea needs her father, B. She is already growing up
(ELYN) THIS IS HOME. SWEET FUCKING HOME. This was my home, with the Luna lording over me, an Alpha father who barely had time for me, a mother who lived in shame and silence. This place was a reminder of everything that was wrong with me, my life. It was not my fault that I was born, but as far as everyone in the pack was concerned, it was MY fault. I shouldn't have been born. My mother was not the Alpha's mate. He strayed, and I was paying for it everyday now. I hated everything here, except two people. My half sister, Reyna, and my best friend, and the love of my life, Liam. As long as they were there, even this hell would be worth it. *** The pack land was decorated with lights and lanterns. The sound of a soft piano floated in the air, and the melodious voice of a woman singing a song about magical destinies and goddesses softly entwined with the piano chords. Everything looked beautiful. Breathtaking. Reyna turned eighteen today, and no expense was spared for the birthda
TWO WEEKS AFTER ELYN WAS KIDNAPPED... (ARES) Elyn, without a last name, was the most infuriating creature I had ever had the pleasure of meeting. My men had royally messed up and now, that little problem was taking over my whole fucking pack. There was no peace. No place was safe. I came to the library for a moment of peace, but what did I find? Her! Elyn and my fucking best friend were nestled together, laughing at something like they were old friends. The traitors in my pack were all besotted with her. I didn't know what she did, but I was almost positive it was black magic. I slammed the door shut, and she looked up, startled, the big book raised above her head like a weapon. "Do not throw it," I growled in warning and she looked at me and the book, like she wanted to do what I told her not to. After a while, she put it back down, sighing. "Kai? Don't you have something else to do?" "What? I have nothing else to do," Kai said as Elyn looked at him with a knowing look an
(ELYN) I ran through the tall trees, trying to see who it was, but there was no one. The forest was quiet, empty, still. Even the birds were quiet, like somehow they were afraid to make a sound. What the hell was it. I looked around once again, making sure no one was here. No one really was. But my heart was still thundering from the scare. Wiping my brows, I walked out. I was reaching the edge of the forest when a wolf leaped out of the thick canopy of trees. I yelped a little at the unexpected intrusion, my heart thundering in panic, and he stilled when he saw me. And then I looked at him, and it wasn't fear anymore. My heartbeat was loud and excited when I saw the magnificent creature. He was a mix of black and white, and he was massive and the most beautiful wolf I had ever seen. I had seen a lot of wolves in my life and never been so entranced by one. I took a step towards him and his eyes met mine and I gasped. One dark blue and one golden eye blinked up at me and the
(ARES) Everything in me begged to stop, but Storm was strangely exhilarated. He never cared about women. I didn't know what it was about her that made him horny, too. He craved her, just as much as I did. "I want to bite her and then lick her off... She smells delicious!" Storm said in a strange moan, which made me want to run far away from her. I licked my lips as I looked into her gray eyes, full of dark, dangerous storms, pulling me in, calling to my every sense. My c*ck responded eagerly to the come hither look in her eyes. I wanted to grab her hand and push it against the evidence of my desire for her. It was too much. She was too much. "Do you want a taste?" she moaned out and my arousal jumped in response. A million times yes and more. This was why I didn't like this woman. She is unexpected. After all, she was still here in my pack and that should tell me how much trouble she was. "I do. I do want a taste." Storm said, in a deep moan. I shook my head as the fire in my b
(ELYN) "Yeah, please, tell me, Elyn," Ares said with a sullen look in my direction, his lips pressed together, his arms crossed across his chest, and I knew if Azalea wasn't here, he might probably bite my head off for this. I quickly averted my gaze away from him, laughing as I did. I just couldn't stop myself. Azalea, not knowing why I was smiling, tugged at my shirtsleeve and looked at me with big blue eyes and I ruffled her hair. "Well, that is the story. She has already told you everything," I said to the Alpha, and he grumbled under his breath. "Story. Huh! What a vexing creature you are!" he murmured so that only I could hear it. I flashed him a smile, and he didn't look pleased about it. "No, Elyn, there is one bit about how Princess Elle puts Draconian peppers in his coffee, until he is all-" This little girl was going to get me in trouble. Her uncle was already itching to push me out of the pack, or kill me! Ares grumbled under his breath and she stopped and blinked
(ELYN) Ares glared at me as he stood there like a fucking statue. I inhaled loudly, watching him, as shadows danced against his body, making a mesmerizing effect. He fisted his palms, and I knew I had once again offended him. The Alpha must be itching for a fight, but he said nothing as he stood there, his body rigid and his jaw stern. He looked like he wanted to punish me. I wanted him to. My brain cells died when he was with me. "Do you need anything more?" I said, and he growled at me in response. "Don't growl at me, you know... you don't scare me!" "Why are you- so- so frustrating?" he huffed as he took a step towards me and stopped halfway. For someone with terrible impulse control, his self restraint was admirable. "Well, because I don't act the way you want me to act!" I blinked at him innocently. "Because you fear me." "Scared? Of you? That is laughable," he said with a sarcastic smile as his eyes narrowed. "I am a Lycan wolf and an Alpha at that, and you- you have nothi
(ARES) My head pounded and my eyes burned. I hadn't slept the whole f*cking night wondering what she was doing. It was my f*cking men. They were the reason for my dilemma. Them and the creature who slept two rooms down from mine. She might not have horns, but she was the devil. I spent the night twisting and turning in my bed, and I almost wanted to break her door down and bring her back to my fucking room. She knew what she was doing. Of course, she knew. Every bone in my body begged for her. My c*ck was hard from the midnight meeting, and she didn't even touch me properly. The ache in my body grew with the thoughts racing through my head. I spent minutes under the shower, still thinking of how soft and magical she looked in the moonlight. I could almost feel her breasts on my chest and smell her scent around me, as if she was still there, as if she was right next to me in the shower. My c*ck jumped like a greedy fucker just at the thought of her. I could feel her everywhere, li
(ELYN) They didn’t let me stand up. My body ached as Coulton kicked me again, and then followed it with a kick and another. My jaw hurt like hell. I used my magic to deter them, to heal myself, but mine was so weak right now when compared to theirs. It was as if their magic was feeding off their anger. "Goddess, please..." I whispered. Robert hissed as he kicked the side of my chin. My jaw felt like it was one fire. "My father was right. We should eradicate abominations like you. You shouldn't have been allowed to live, not even after you lost your power. They should have just killed you all and be done with it. Because you are roaches and you come back to life again and again. I will crush you beneath my feet and then our world would be free.” "You aren't escaping this time, bitch. You hurt my father, and you will pay for that. You will pay for it with your own blood and pain." Robert hissed. Lord Coulton looked at his son, a proud smile on his face. "Lord Coulton, you and
(ELYN) Zien looked at me. “I am sorry I had to ask so much of you. I wish I didn’t have to.” He looked apologetic as Storm and the other Lycan warriors walked inside. "It is hard, but I think I will survive this, because I have all of you, and this is my responsibility, too. You didn’t ask me more than I had to give. This is my war, too. The Vampires made it so. I was wrong to say it is not my war.” "You are not really wrong. It is not really your war, but you are part of all of this, even if you don't want it. I am sorry," Zien said. “Somehow, our destiny is tangled.” “The stone and dagger came to me. And now, I truly did trust that it was my destiny. So, Vinc- dad…” Vincys looked at me with wide eyes. He looked surprised, but there was also a hint of a smile on his lips as he looked at me with a nod. We walked inside, but it was so quiet inside. Something didn’t feel very right. "This is- this doesn't feel right," Nix said, looking agitated. “Something is so wrong. Everything
(RAVEN) I couldn’t sleep. How could I, when I knew my friends were out there, and fighting for their lives? I couldn’t stop thinking about Zien and Elyn and the other wolves. Somehow, they had become a part of my life, too, and I didn’t mind they had. When I first walked into this pack, I only had disdain, but now, I loved everyone here. Especially… I shook my head and jumped up from my bed. This was going to be a long, sleepless night and I was already thirsty thinking about Brian and how it felt when we danced together. I smiled a little as I walked out of my room, thinking about what Azalea said. She was awesome, and I wanted her to be my daughter, too. I knew it was greedy, but I couldn’t stop wanting for things that didn’t belong to me. Brian had slowly become himself and I could see how handsome he looked now that he wasn’t only covered in bones. “You alright? Can’t sleep?” I turned to see Vincys sitting at the table, drinking water. He motioned me to sit with him. I took
(ELYN) (A week later…) It was calm. But the calm wouldn’t last. The whispers were coming once again. The darkness was waiting. And I knew. We knew it wasn’t over yet, but this time, we didn’t want to wait. We found out from Rebecca that the dark vampires had holed up in the woods of Dorchas. "Let’s go.” I looked at Zien and he smiled. “It seems like the others have abandoned Lord Coulton.” “It seems like that. I told you we can trust Rebecca,” I said to him and he gave me a look and rolled his eyes. “And the sexual tension…” “What sexual tension? Shut up,” he said, but I saw the look in his eyes and smirked to myself and Ares shook his head, poking a finger against my head. ''I am leaving." Rebecca came back from talking with Meli. She stopped as she looked at me. "If you can talk some sense into him... not all of us are bad. Assuming that doesn't make him better than them," she mumbled under her breath as she watched Zien with a frown. "We can't withstand another war." I did
(RAVEN) I laughed and stopped when Brian looked up, and his blue eyes met mine. I felt like I couldn’t breathe properly when he looked at me like that. He was so beautiful, and I feel it now... something, some kind of connection between us. This was getting beyond ridiculous. I had never been someone who hesitated to take what she wanted, and I knew I wanted him. But why could I not make a fucking move? Why was I so scared all of a sudden? “Ah, yes, yes, of course, your aunt Elyn is something else,” Brian said. “Now go on. What do you want from me, little girl? Dad will do anything for you.” “I know, daddy, and I want you to dance with Raven.” “Yes?” “Why do I have to explain every little thing?” “My Goddess, Cookie, how old are you? Fifty?” “I am turning six in a month,” she giggled before pushing him towards me. I stared at him as he hesitated for a second before he smiled and shrugged. “Want to dance? I think my daughter will punch me in the nose if I didn’t do that?” “Y
(ELYN) The music started back again. Despite the night we just had, I felt fresh, I felt happy. We had won this battle. Of course, there was a war to come, but I had a feeling it would be more Zien's war than mine, I think, but even if it was mine, I had all of the people around me, and I knew I would survive it too. I was happy with what I had now. I would help him, but once he had his kingdom back, I knew he wouldn't need me much. "Flower, pretty girl," I said to Azalea, and she pouted. "It is almost empty." "It is fine, Cookie. This is perfect as it is. Everything is perfect." Vincys and Sienna stood on either side of me as I walked towards my mate. He was wearing a t-shirt that was one size small, and his beautiful body was for everyone to see, but it was only for me to touch and do as I pleased. From that first moment I met him in his study. "Ours." Nix said with a deep sigh and I laughed. "I kinda hate that I have to share, but since you are mine... okay," I said as I fin
(ELYN) The dark vampire’s power expanded around him, like a protective shield. I leaped towards him and plunged the Dagger into the field of power around him. I hadn’t really expected it to do anything, but I was wrong. The shield, like glass, shattered around him and his eyes widened as I thrust the dagger into his chest. My eyes widened along with him as blood gushed out of his wounds. He moved back. “Oh,” I whispered softly as my fingers trembled as I pulled the Dagger out of his wound. I cringed when I saw the same black vines spreading from his wound. I stared at my hand drenched in blood. I hadn’t really thought of killing him, but I knew I did what I had to do. One of the Vampire grabbed him, their anger overwhelming. A tall man with pointy fangs, pointed a finger at me. “Our realm will never belong to you. We will make sure of that.” “We will see about that,” Zien said with a dark look in the direction of the Dark Vampires. “Dorchas belongs to me. I am its rightful own
(ELYN) I saw thick black veins forming on his pale white skin. His body shuddered as his face morphed in pain, and a soft hiss left his lips as he glared at me, his eyes piercing red. My body trembled in response. My heart twisted as I looked at the men staring at us, and the wolves behind me. They all looked stunned, and their eyes were focused on the Dagger in my hand. The blood stone glowed. "What the- what the hell is this?" Even I was stunned by what was happening. He growled in anger as he whirled around, his angry eyes burning holes into mine. "You stupid girl. You stupid, stupid girl,” he hissed as he waved his hand and I was thrown back. Storm gave me a hand. I pulled myself up. “I will destroy you for this. I will destroy all of you.” His pale skin looked even paler. His fangs gleamed. He was afraid. I could see it in his eyes, his fear. His desperation. “You okay?” Storm whispered and I looked into the soft brown and blue eyes of the Lycan and nodded. He looked worried
(ELYN) My beautiful dress... I sighed as I kicked the vampire who just ripped a hole in my sleeve. I stabbed him with the dagger, and he screamed and stepped away as if he was being scorched. A loud wail left his lips. Using his momentary distraction, I kicked him in his head with a growl. My wolf wanted to come out and play, but not yet. I am liking this game. He felt to the ground with a scream and the wolves were ready for him. They fought viciously, without giving him a chance to run away. But soon I saw more and more vampires coming from the east and west side, flanking us, but the Lycans were relentless, and hard, their resolve unwavering. Some of them were shooting arrows and some just used their claws to rip these vampire assholes into pieces. "This is going to be difficult," I whispered to Nix and she let out a deep sigh. "I know. But I have a feeling we will win this." "You are an optimistic person, maybe because, Nix, you haven't really seen life. Not much. But I thin
