79. Ceremony

“What do you want?” I looked at the little girl. The worry in her eyes had vanished, and she just looked like a little girl who was excited for her ice cream.

“That and that and that and-”

“Hmm…” I hummed as I gave her a stern look, that made her giggle.

“Ok. Cookie cream.”

“That is a good girl,” I said as I ordered one for her and one for me. The ice cream came in a big waffle bowl, and there was a cookie on the top. She smiled.

“This my favorite. Uncle Ares always buy me this.”

We finished our ice creams, talking about Uncle Ares. I could see how much she loved him. Of course, she did. He was the one who had been her father after she lost both her father and mother.

“You love him so much, don’t you?”

“Yes. He is the best, Raven.”

I chuckled as I wiped the ice cream away from the side of her lips. “Let’s go home, then.”

“Where is uncle Ares and Elyn?”

“Oh, uncle Ares bought Elyn a ring.” Her eyes widened when I told her that and she squealed, jumping up and down.
