Thorne POV

“Do I have to go? Do I really have to go? Can't I just make some excuse that I'm sick or something?” Hades whined, swinging my arm like a child. If you really thought about it, that’s exactly what he was—a fifteen-year-old brat with all the time in the world to be spoiled, childish, and downright ridiculous.

I smiled, my eyes curving upward as I patted his head. “You need to go, Hades. It’s the werewolf gala, where all the packs will be attending, and your duty as the youngest son of the king is to be present.”

Yet, this spoiled, childish, and stupid kid was stronger than me. Far stronger. This kid, who used to run away from training with the king, was more powerful than I ever was.

“Pfft, we have a ton of events like this every day! All the packs are always there. Why does Dad have to go through all this trouble? I’m sure half of them don’t even want to be there!” He huffed, flinging his arms in the air dramatically, clearly fed up.

“Well, it is necessary,” I replied, kee

Disclaimer: Intense sex scene.Thorne POVI ran my hand through the hair of the young girl in front of me, my fingers tangling in her soft strands as I gazed down at her. Her wide eyes were filled with fear, her small frame trembling like a leaf caught in a storm. She looked up at me, her lips quivering as if she wanted to say something but couldn't find the courage. The corner of my lips curled into a wicked smirk as I leaned back, my gaze locked on her. She was the newest addition—a fresh, trembling piece of prey plucked from one of the captured packs. I had been too busy to indulge in my daily sessions, but tonight, my frustration demanded an outlet. And she—helpless, wide-eyed, and at my mercy—was the perfect target. "How old are you, girl?" I asked, my voice a low purr as my fingers brushed against her face, tracing her features like I was carving them into memory. She shivered under my touch, her eyes fluttering closed as a deep, shaky breath escaped her. My fingers paused at

Just do it and stop acting like a coward,” Rylie chimed in, and I could practically feel the smug, mischievous grin stretching across his face. Eva clicked her tongue and I knew that she was shooting him a glare. “Stop talking to her like that! Don’t forget she’s now the king’s guest and—” “Yeah, yeah,” Rylie interrupted, “She’s the king’s guest, and I should be respectful. Blah, blah, blah. Can we drop the royal etiquette lesson and focus on what’s important here? Like convincing this drama queen to grow a spine.” Eva groaned. “You’re impossible.” “And you’re welcome.” Rylie gave her a mock bow, earning himself a swat on the back of the head. "Will you two stop arguing and listen to me for once?" I snapped, throwing my hands in the air. To my surprise, they actually stopped mid-bicker and turned their gazes to

The king's safety is important.”As we walked, my gaze locked onto the patrolling guards, making sure they were alert and doing their jobs. The air was tense since every detail mattered.I should pay attention because every detail mattered—it really did. But as I walked and examined things, my head was clouded with thoughts of her, distracting me from everything.Davina. I was thinking about the girl who belonged to the king. Damn it.These past few days, I had been trying to keep my focus, but it was becoming impossible. Every time I thought I had a handle on the situation, she slipped into my mind again.

Davina povSomething was horribly wrong.I couldn't pinpoint when it started, or how it all began, but I knew something was off. It started when a maid had approached Eva. She mentioned that her brother, Emmanuel, was looking for her. Eva had hesitated, reluctant to leave me alone, but Rylie assured her he would stay by my side. That was until he received an emergency call from the pack’s clinic and had to rush out.He didn’t want to leave, but I reassured him. I wasn’t a child. I could stay right where I was. After that, everything became a blur. Someone—no, Stella—had come up to me with a tray, offering a drink. I didn’t want to take anything from her, not especially after she had bullied me, but she insisted, saying that the king had noticed I hadn’t been drinking and asked her to bring me orange juice. Reluctantly, I took the drink, trusting that it was harmless. But only a few minutes after drinking it, my body began to react. A heat spread through me, intense and burning, as if

I kept my head bowed, my face burning hot. If my cheeks got any redder, I might as well have been mistaken for a ripe tomato."Did you hear it last night?" someone whispered, their voice carrying just enough for me to catch."The screams? Oh, everyone heard it. 10 years agoHades povEverything was supposed to be boring today. That was why I had escaped from the hunting game to sneak in some sleep. But as I looked at the girl groaning while trying to sit up on the ground, I couldn’t help but feel amused—and a little intrigued.Usually, people would fawn over me and bend to my every whim, eager to please and let me have whatever I desired. At first, it was thrilling—having everything handed to me without question. But over time, it grew tiresome, predictable, and unbearably dull. Then, when I was named the next in line to be the Lycan King, it only got worse. Suddenly, the world’s eyes were on me, every move scrutinized, every word echoed back like gospel. It was suffocating, maddening—a constant pressure that left no room to breathe, let alone be myself."Are you crazy?!" the girl snapped, her eyes narrowing into a sharp glare as she shot up so quickly I could hear the sound of her bones cracking. She froze at the noise, her mouth opening an

10 years agoDavina pov“Help! Help me!” I screamed, clutching the tree branch as if my life depended on it. And, well, if you think about it, it really did. Because once I let go of this branch, I'd either fall to my doom or take a nasty tumble that would probably involve some broken bones and a very bruised ego. My breath was coming in panicked gasps, my heart was beating a little faster than necessary, and I was starting to question how I ended up in such a ridiculous situation.“I hate you for luring me into this trap!” I hissed, glaring at the bird in my hand, which I had somehow named Shelly—yes, Shelly. I don’t know why, I just did. Shelly, the bird who led me up this towering tree that I was now precariously clinging to, barely holding on for dear life. How did I end up here? How did a ten-year-old even climb this tree without being completely ridiculous?Well, it all started innocently enough. I was walking along with the maids and my utterly annoying, spoiled four-year-old y

Davina povToday had been... something.Breakfast with the king had been weird, to say the least. And I’m not only talking about the Alpha seated beside me who couldn’t stop boasting about how powerful and wealthy he was. I maintained respect and control, nodding politely as he spoke. But at some point, when his hand slid under the table, grazing closer and closer to my inner thigh, that control began to slip.I froze, my breath hitching as I struggled to decide what to do. My throat felt tight, and no words came to mind. I thought I’d have to endure it, to sit there silently and take it, when suddenly, Hades’ laugh rang through the hall.It wasn’t the kind of laugh that brought joy or eased tension. No, it was dry, devoid of humor, and cold enough to send a shiver down my spine.I quickly realized something bad was about to happen. It always did when he laughed like that. What was going to happen."Goodnight, Davina," Eva said softly, her hand gently patting my head as she tucked me
