Cyrus POV

I wanted her.

I’ve never desired something so badly and not gotten it. Whatever I wanted, I had to have—whether it was the blood of those I wished dead or the thrill of playing with anyone I chose. Hades always ensured I got exactly what I craved.

It had always been this way… until the day we went to the auction house and saw her for the first time. I was the first to catch her scent, and in that moment, when she appeared on that stage, something inside me snapped. I wanted nothing more than to take her away from the prying eyes of the men that looked at her like she was some commodity– to kill everyone of them, pluck out their eyes and end the pathetic lives of those who dared lay a hand on our mate.

But Hades?

That bastard didn’t flinch. He was an emotionless monster who didn’t feel a thing—not even for his mate. To him, she was nothing more than wolfless, blind, and weak. But I didn’t care. She was mesmerizing—almost too mesmerizing. Her beauty seemed to cast a spell on m

Hades POVEverywhere was dark and eerily quiet. I’d slipped into my own consciousness—a place I knew well whenever Cyrus took control or shifted. Just as he could take over in my human form, I could also take control in his wolf form. But this time, he’d forced the shift. And as I listened and watched him kiss her—I was pissed. It wasn’t because he was kissing her; she was our mate, so he had every right to do as he pleased with her. No, I was furious because he had challenged me—he’d forced the shift. How dare he.This was the first time he’d done something like this, but I knew I was partly to blame. Before I even realized it, I’d lost control—I’d kissed her. My body had reacted before my brain, and damn it, that sneaky wolf had used that to seize control. I hated disobedience. I hated losing control. And it all started the moment she came into our lives.“It’s okay; I won’t hurt you. I just need you to sit still for me, mate. Can you do that?”“I’m Cyrus, Hades’ wolf.” He said in a

Davina’s POVHades kissed me. Cyrus kissed me.And I kissed them both back.Technically, they were the same person. Even though I never had a wolf, this was common knowledge. Despite the distinct personalities that set Hades and Cyrus apart, they were still one.On my eighteenth birthday, I didn’t shift like other werewolves do. Every girl and boy has their first shift at eighteen, but I didn’t. That day was the day I lost everything—everyone. A medium once told me that my wolf might have hidden away because of the trauma. She said it had gone into hiding, but I didn’t know how to unlock it. So eventually, I just gave up.I gave up on trying to unlock my wolf and focused on finding Sebastian instead. Earlier, I had wanted to leave, to avoid getting tangled up with Hades and escape from this place. But somehow, here I was, sitting on his lap.Damn it.“What’s wrong? Would you rather have Cyrus here instead of me?”I sat there, frozen, unable to utter a single word, with only a towel co

Davina’s POV“Wait a damn minute! Are those… hickeys?!”“No—” I tried to say something, but Eva gently removed my hand from my neck. I felt her shocked gaze on me, and I sucked in a breath, keeping my head down. I didn’t know why I felt as if I’d been caught doing something wrong. He… he was my mate, so it shouldn’t have been wrong, right? But then again, I couldn’t tell anyone that the king was my mate—that was one of the rules he’d given me in the car.She looked like she wanted to say something but decided against it. “I must have seen it wrong,” she laughed awkwardly. “Come on, let’s get you something to eat. You must be hungry.”I relaxed slightly at her words, breathing a sigh of relief. She didn’t push further, instead pulling me along to eat.The dining area we sat in was designated for the maids. She explained that the king didn’t use the main dining hall; instead, he preferred to eat in his study. Since I was assigned to serve him, it would be my duty to bring his meals ther

Davina’s POV“Davina!”I stopped cleaning and turned toward the sound of the voice. Eva gently took my hand, pulling the rag from my grip. Though I couldn’t see her, I knew she was smiling. It had been a week since I arrived here, and I had grown close to Eva. She was the one who made this place feel a bit more comfortable—and she was my… friend.“Davina, let’s go into town,” she said, and I tilted my head in confusion.“Can we go out?” I asked, feeling her grip tighten on my hand. She’d told me before that we couldn’t leave because of the upcoming hunting games.“Of course, we can’t go near the boundaries surrounding the pack, but we can still go into town. There’s so much to do outside—it’s far livelier than staying cooped up in the palace. Emmanuel already gave us permission. Since the king isn’t around, he said we’re allowed to go, but he warned us to stay out of trouble.” She scoffed.I hadn’t seen the Lycan King for a week straight after what happened in his room. Evangeline POV“You said what?!” My hand froze as I spun around to glare at the two useless girls in front of me. They didn't respond, didn’t even meet my eyes, cowering in fear—and that only fueled my anger. I forced myself to take a deep breath, reminding myself to stay composed. Daddy always said that ladies shouldn’t raise their voices. They should be elegant, calm, and beautiful—the qualities of a future queen. And I have those qualities.“Now repeat what you just said, Stella.” I opened my eyes and spoke through a forced smile, but they both seemed to shiver, glancing at each other nervously.“M-my lady, what I meant was that… the Lycan King bought a new slave a week ago, and she spent the night with him. I also heard she’s now serving directly under him,” Stella stammered.Marie added, “We tried to get her into trouble by giving her the late Queen’s dress, but we were suspended for it and only just resumed today.”My eye twitched, and before I could stop myself, I screamed, thr

I wanted to glare at him, but since he couldn’t see it, I settled for flipping him off instead.Sebastian only laughed harder, his amusement echoing. I heard Father’s disapproving sigh before he spoke again.“You need to learn how to fight without sight, kiddo. It’s essential,” Father said firmly, though the mental image of him fanning himself as he lectured didn’t quite inspire the seriousness he was aiming for.“But how am I supposed to know when–” I yelped mid-sentence, cut off by another swift tap of the fan on my head. “Dad! That hurts!”“Listen to the sound, Davina.” A third strike landed on my shoulder, forcing me to focus. “You can’t use your sight right now, but let your other senses sharpen.”I sighed but turned serious, trying to concentrate. Hades POVThe town bustled with noise and excitement outside the window. Though faint, the sounds reached my ears, but I tried to focus on something more important—something worth my time. Running a hand through my hair, I scanned the file in my other hand as I sat in the restaurant.“King, here is the document you requested," Draven said, handing me another file. I took them and opened the first page, flipping through the contents. As I read, my frown deepened."The last pack to fall under attack is in the North?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. Draven nodded."Yes, King. The rogues have stopped attacking the West and South and are now heading North."His words darkened my mood further. I clenched the file tighter, my eyes narrowing. "They have guts, attacking the North where my kingdom is based. Do they no longer fear the consequences?"Draven lowered his head, his posture shifting as the edge of my Alpha’s voice slipped out unintentionally.I just returned from a week-long trip to the

Evangeline POVMy eyes widened in surprise when I saw her kick the big man. How could she fight? I thought they said she was wolfless.I turned my glare towards Stella and Marie, who stopped eating and shrank back in fear, their hands trembling as they held their spoons, trying to avoid my gaze.I had told Liam to call for the strongest and most feared thugs. I would pay them twenty silver if they could bully the blind girl, or even better, drag her to a corner or ditch and do whatever they liked with her.I liked the latter idea better; then the king wouldn't care to invite her to his room again if he found out she had already been sullied by other men. I would pay them thirty silver if they did that. Now I didn't expect her to be strong! But as I watched, my smile returned when one of the hooligans held her against him and demanded compensation. If she didn't pay, she would have to pay with her body.“Good, a commoner like her wouldn't have silvers,” I smirked, but suddenly somethin

Hades pov. “Moon Goddess.” The words slipped from my mouth before I could stop them, and I froze, my eyes locked onto the woman before me. She was exactly as I remembered— unchanged, untouched by time. The same presence that had left everyone speechless that day, the same piercing eyes that seemed to strip away all privacy, as if she could read every thought in my mind. And that same knowing smile, the one she wore when she named me king instead of Thorne. It was all there. “Hades, my child… my favorite child.” Her smile widened as she gazed at me, an unsettling warmth in her eyes. My expression remained unreadable as I bowed my head in respect. There was only one being in this world that a king could bow to— only one deity worthy of such reverence. Not a mere person, but the Moon Goddess herself. The mother of all werewolves. “Greetings to the goddess,” I said, my voice cold. Almost immediately, I heard a light, amused chuckle. She lowered herself gracefully and sat onto the f

I waved him off nonchalantly, too preoccupied with the words that girl had said earlier in the car."With his hands, my king."I frowned, my fingers instinctively drumming against the chair— an unconscious habit whenever I needed to think.A kid had broken a wall that had remained unbroken for years? I didn’t need to think too deeply to know this was the same child Thorne was using to kill my Alphas. This wasn’t the first time I had heard whispers about him from survivors."He was merciless. He killed without blinking, he tore through people like they were nothing to him. But… he saved me. I don’t know why. He killed everyone but spared me.""He didn’t touch me. Hades pov.Despite keeping my eyes shut, I could still sense her gaze on me— stealing glances before quickly looking away in fear. The rhythmic drumming of my fingers against the seat came to an abrupt stop as my frown deepened. I opened my eyes, staring into the distance before shifting my gaze to the slave I had bought at the auction house.Earlier, when I stepped into the car, I was surprised to find the little slave crouched to the side, trembling. That was when I remembered her. I had told her to leave, to return to her pack, making it clear that I had no intention of taking her with me. But instead of leaving, she had fallen to her knees, tears streaming down her face as she pleaded— insisting that she had offended me. The desperation in her voice had genuinely taken me by surprise.“Go home to your family, you’ve been released,” I had told her back then, but her response was,“No, my king. I have no family to return to, and if I leave, I’ll only be captured again and forced int

Draven pov.“Your dinner is ready! Look, I made your favorite meal, Draven. Remember how much you used to love it when I cooked for you?”My mate— no, the woman before me spoke with a bright smile, placing the freshly cooked porridge on the table, her eyes filled with eagerness for me to try it.I stared at the porridge for a moment, my gaze cold, a tired frown tugging at my lips. With a slow shake of my head, I pushed the bowl away, my eyes flickering back to her.“You’re not real,” I repeated, for what felt like the hundredth time. “You are not my mate. You are not here. And this… this isn’t real.”Her smile faltered for a split second before she quickly masked it, forcing a cheerful expression back onto her face."Draven, please…" she whispered, her voice trembling slightly, almost sounding rehearsed as she pushed the bowl back toward me. Yet, with each passing second, the sound grew louder, almost deafening, as if it were counting down to something— something unknown, something inevitable."Where am I?" I murmured to myself, blinking as I tried to recall what had happened. But it felt like something was blocking the memory—so close yet just out of reach.Clank! The sound of something shattering on the ground snapped my head in that direction, and I froze when I saw my mother's stunned expression, her eyes widening as she stared at me."Mother…" I murmured under my breath, my voice hoarse. In the blink of an eye, she ran toward me, pulling me into a tight embrace."Oh my goddess, Davina! Davina pov. My father always used to say that when you are close to death, your life flashes before your eyes in the form of a dream—like watching a movie. But this one shows everything: your past, your present, and the illusion of the future you long for. The future you would do everything to have. Maybe that explained why I was here—why they were all here. “Haha! You should have seen her face when she thought she could land a strike on me, only to end up flat on the ground.” I turned to my right, watching as my father laughed, clapping his hands in amusement, his eyes glistening with mischief. “Really, Dalton? Do you have to make fun of your daughter after knocking her down?” My mother shook her head in disapproval, shooting him a glare. “Hey, ‘knocking her down’ is a strong phrase. I was merely… training her, dear.” My father smirked before turning his gaze back to me. “Davina needs to learn how to fight and control her powers. She’s twenty-four—she needs to step up her game

Please believe me," he pleaded, his voice trembling with emotion.“Do you expect me to believe that?” I asked, my tone bored and empty as I released the bastard, letting him collapse to the ground with a soft thud. Without sparing him another glance, I walked to my seat, reached for the glass of wine, and took a slow sip. Resting my head on my hand, I narrowed my gaze at him.“Do you expect me to believe that you have no idea where you supply the women? Don’t take me for a fool, Valen. Or perhaps… you fear Thorne too much to speak the truth, hm?” I drawled, lazily twirling the wine in my glass, a cold smirk curving my lips.“N-no, Your Majesty. That is not true—”“Or let me guess,” I cut him off, my voice turning sharp. “You’re one of those fools who worship Thorne. Who believe he is your true king, your savior, your rightful ruler. Hades pov. “It is an honor to have an audience with the Majesty.” Valen bowed as he stepped into the private room, his head dipped low in respect. I frowned the moment I saw him, irritation bubbling within me. Why was I angry? Perhaps it was because of this auction house. The auctioning business had existed for generations—packs trading slaves to the highest bidder to strengthen their resources. But not just anyone could own an auction house. There were crucial rules to follow. First, one had to obtain permission from the king. Second, and most importantly, the slaves had to be acquired legally—no kidnappings, no forced captures. Valen had obtained permission for the auction house from my father, the late king, while he was still alive. Since taking the throne, I hadn’t granted anyone new permissions—I had been too preoccupied with searching for Thorne, with no time for matters that weren’t urgent. But now, as I sat here, I realized I may have overlooked something
