Davina pov

I frowned, coming to an abrupt halt after walking for two hours nonstop. Dropping to my knees, I clumsily reached out for the ground, desperately hoping not to find the rock I had placed there an hour ago. But to my utter dismay, my hand brushed against it right where I'd left it.

"Fucking hell!" I groaned, running my hand through my hair in frustration as I sank onto the ground, trying not to break into tears.

But how could I not? I was lost, hungry, and scared.

I should've expected it to turn out this way, to be honest. Why? Because I was blind, and I didn't know this route well enough to navigate it easily. Hell, what was I even saying? The boundaries were vast and confusing. The last time I was here, I was just a kid—and I got lost with that boy.

At least I wasn't alone then, but now I was in these eerie woods by myself. I wrapped my arms around myself, frowning as I stared into the blank whiteness that surrounded me.

I should have at least agreed to eat the breakfast E

Davina povI didn’t know how long I had been running, but by now, I was panting—barely able to breathe as I pushed forward toward the palace. I stumbled, tripping and falling along the way, but I didn’t stop. For some reason, I couldn’t.It took me about thirty minutes to reach the palace and when I did, I instantly froze when I heard sounds of footsteps and voices. Reacting quickly, I ran towards tree, hiding behind it before I could be seen.“Did you hear that the king's mate has gone missing and he ordered almost half of the guards to look for her” A gruff male voice said and I sucked in a breath as the voices drew nearer.Hades was looking for me?“Really? Even though since the king's mate, isn't she blind and wolfless. I still don't understand why he hasn't rejected her yet, if it was me I would have done that long ago, tsk”.“Shh. You better be careful and not let anyone hear you, or else you'd be in trouble but you are right, I agree. Though, I am a little jealous of those guar

I couldn’t move, couldn’t speak. I could only stand there, helpless, as she accused me. Everyone’s eyes were fixed on me in horror, backing away as though I were some kind of virus.“No. I wasn't the traitor. I wasn't trying to poison the king.”That was what I had wanted to say, to tell them, but before I could utter a word, the first accusation came.“P-poison the king! She ran away to avoid getting caught!” another exclaimed.“Oh goddess, you're right. How could she do such a thing?”I staggered back as their words pierced my heart, ringing in my ears.Stop it. Before I could react, I heard him groan and stagger, coughing as he collapsed toward the ground.I gasped and quickly reached out to catch him, but his weight sent me crashing down with him, his hard body pinning me against the floor. A sharp pain shot through me, making me groan.Fuck. Are these people made of steel?I blinked, reaching back to rub my aching lower back, but then froze as his low, deep voice cut through the air, making my breath hitch.“Davina…”His voice snapped me out of my daze, and I quickly reached out to steady him. Davina povI ran. I ran. I ran.Wiping my tears with the sleeve of my shirt, I pushed forward with every ounce of strength I had, the echoes of the fallen ringing in my ears. The clash of swords against flesh, the agonizing, heartbreaking cry of Draven as he collapsed behind me—it all broke within. But no matter what I heard, I didn’t look back. I just kept moving. Even when I stumbled, I forced myself up, my legs burning as I ran toward the hunting grounds.“Get her! Don’t let her escape, you idiots!” The loud voices of the guards echoed behind me as I pushed forward. I didn’t know how I found the strength to outrun a dozen men, but somehow I was able to as I tried to get there before it was too late—before Hades drank the wolfsbane.“I’m sorry. I’m sorry… I promise to save him,” I muttered under my breath, taking a swift turn to the left.“She’s going to the hunting grounds. Quick, force the shift!” Immediately, I could hear the cracking of bones, followed by the loud sounds of paws

My hands clenched into fists, my eyes narrowing, desperately hoping that whatever Felix had just said was some cruel joke. How dare he joke about something like this? After everything that happened in the hunting ground, the first thing I did was take Davina to my room to be treated by the pack doctor. I had wanted to stay by her side throughout the night and had strictly ordered that I was not be disturbed for any reason, no matter how urgent the situation was. But not long after, Felix had jumped through the window, disobeying my orders for the first time. Before I even had the chance to get angry and punish him for his disobedience, he dropped this bombshell on me.“Repeat what you just said,” I demanded again, my eyes narrowing into a dangerous glare as I stepped closer, towering over him. Davina pov.Why was this happening? Why did my body always seem to betray me whenever Hades was near? Whenever he touched me, pulled me against him in the most sinful, addicting way. Why?I knew the answer. It was because he was Hades—my mate. He was the reason my mind became a tangled mess whenever he was near. The reason why, even when I should have been furious with him, I couldn't bring myself to resist his touch.I should be mad. I should push him away—especially after what happened when I was drugged, especially what happened to Draven. I should tell him I didn’t want this. But instead—“Ah, please… please, Hades,” I moaned, my head falling back as my fingers tangled in his hair, pulling him closer. His tongue moved inside me, sending shocks of pleasure through me. My back arched, my breath coming in ragged gasps. I bit my bottom lip, trying to stifle the moans threatening to spill out—but I couldn't stop them.“Fuck!” I moaned, my toes curling as waves of pleasure crashed over

Could it be my Sebastian? My missing brother who disappeared years ago during the rogue attack? My shoulders trembled as I took a shaky breath and reached out, my fingers tracing the delicate lines of his features, desperate to feel the familiarity, the resemblance, the proof that this wasn’t just my mind playing cruel tricks on me– to confirm that he was real."S-Sebastian… is that you? Is it really you?” I whispered, my voice barely audible, laced with disbelief and raw emotion.I felt him stiffen under my touch, but I only smiled through the tears, my fingers tracing the contours of his face, desperate to etch them into my memory—to remember how Sebastian had looked before he went missing and compare if the boy standing before me was truly my Sebastian."Sebastian..." 99|Is that really you? Hades pov. Where is she? Where the fuck is Davina? “Hades, to the left!” Cyrus growled, snapping me out of my frantic thoughts. I turned sharply in the direction he called out, my feet barely making a sound against the ground. My mind was racing, my heartbeat pounding—relentless, growing faster with each passing second. I had given the order for those little rats to be killed, yet before I even realized it, my attention had shifted. I turned to search for her in the chaos, but she was nowhere to be seen. In that moment, I couldn’t quite describe what I felt—only that the sight of her disappearance sent a cold rush of fear through me. A fear I hadn’t felt in a long time. It was like that day all over again. Seeing her gone, knowing she was in danger, made everything else fade into nothing. All I could think about was her. “Ahhh! Die, you filthy imposter! You are not the king!” I halted, my gaze narrowing as I focused on the bastard charging at me wi

Fear gripped my body, paralyzing me despite Eva’s desperate tugging, trying to pull me to safety. Her voice seemed distant—fading into the background—while the only sounds I could hear were the agonized cries, the thud of bodies hitting the ground, and the desperate pleas for help.“Davina!”I staggered back as images flooded my mind, suffocating me. The massacre of my pack, the rogues’ ruthless attack, the arrows striking down those I once called family—each memory struck like a dagger, replaying their final moments.I couldn't breathe. I couldn't breathe. I couldn't-My trembling hand reached for my chest as I gasped for air.“Help! 96|Kill her.Hades pov. When Father was alive, he would always say, ‘Mercy is ruthlessness upon ourselves’. At first, I thought it was just some silly quote he had stolen from a novel. Besides, Father wasn’t exactly what you’d call ruthless.Back then, I saw him as a kind king who wouldn’t even hurt a fly. But now, looking back, I finally understood the truth behind his words.Father wasn’t cruel, but there were moments when he chose to be—moments when he steeled his heart and passed judgment without an ounce of mercy. Why?Because mercy could be a double-edged sword. Sparing someone today might mean giving them the chance to kill you tomorrow—just like Theron did.So I made a vow. Never again would I show an ounce of mercy, no matter how desperately they begged for it."Have mercy! M–my king, please have mercy!" the first girl cried as the guards drag her onto the podium. But I don’t blink. My expression remained cold, unchanging, as she’s forced to her knees. The sack was ripped fro

Was I glad they were finally being punished for their crimes? Or was I sad that their punishment was death?Perhaps I was torn between the two, unsure of what I should be feeling. But one thing was certain—I was relieved. At least they wouldn’t be causing any more trouble, like drugging me or attempting to kill Hades.“You don’t have to worry,” I said with a soft smile. “I won’t be seeing anything anyway, so it doesn’t really matter.” I joked, and Eva scoffed before letting out a noise of agreement.“True, but still, you’re braver than that idiot who refuses to step outside until the execution is over. Can you believe it? A grown man making himself sick on purpose just to avoid attending. If men are scare

Liam, who works for Thorne, and Liam, who works for Evangelina, are two different people.)“What?” I asked, my hand freezing mid-motion as I stopped applying makeup. Turning around, I stared at Liam with wide eyes, unable to believe what I had just heard.“Those fools—no, I mean Stella and Marie—are being executed tomorrow?” I repeated, my voice laced with disbelief. When Liam nodded, bowing his head even lower, my mouth fell open in shock. No fucking way.“From what I gathered, the king has officially announced their execution. It’s set for tomorrow at the hunting grounds—where Beta Draven’s execution was originally supposed to take place.”I gasped, slamming my brush onto the table, my eyes wide as I stared at Liam."So... does that mean Beta Draven's execution won't take place after all?"
