Marlie was dragged outside by two guards, towards a car that sat in front of the building. She was placed inside, both guards taking a seat on either side of her. The lady from before sat in the front seat along with another man; the driver.

“The forgotten castle you say?”

“Yes…that one.”

“Alright.”

Marlie jumped when the car engine started, her eyes unfocused as she looked around at a world she had only seen glimpses of for 6 years.

The sun was bright, hung up in the sky like a halo of death, there were trees almost everywhere and other cars drove by, some swiftly, some slow. The car she was in, moved backwards the slightest bit, twisting towards the road and then it took off.

Marlie’s eyes were fixated on the blurred world that she could see through the windows, her hands gripping onto the seat for leverage. She knew this was a ride to another space of captivation, yet she couldn’t help but enjoy the air that bruised her skin.

It made her feel as though she was a butterfly, flittering freely through the wild and empty sky. The men beside her became nothing but a memory as she moved even closer to the window, trying to get a better view.

She wished she’d be able to see this every day, but she knew luxury such as this wasn’t available to mere slaves. Sighing, she leant back, burying her hands in her lap. She shouldn’t look forward to this, because living as free as a butterfly was a dream that wouldn’t come through. She had already lost her wings or perhaps she was a caterpillar incapable of acquiring its wings.

Marlie had been dragged out of the car and inside the largest building she’d ever seen. In her innocent eyes, it had looked tall enough to touch the skies. There were multiple buildings behind it and a forest filled with tall trees and tall bushes. It was pretty, but nothing outside could compare to what she had seen on the inside before she was thrown like a doll into a room so high that it was hard to see what’s below.

She had seen golden decorations, a bundle of diamonds hanging from the ceiling and there was this machine, so shiny and pretty…it took her up so fast that she had found it hard to breathe. But now that she sat lonely in the room with a plate of food she had never eaten before and doors that were locked, windows that were barred and a heart that was beating way faster than it ever had…she did not know what to do.

Despite seeing food that made her tastebuds curious, she didn’t have the appetite to eat, instead, her eyes glided around the room, looking for something, anything to protect herself.

Marlie stood from her stoop, taking a better look around. There was a big bed in the corner of the room, furniture that barely had anything on them and a floor made of beautiful tiles…unlike what she was used to.

There was nothing useful in this place; no knife, no wood that she could sharpen, no scissors, no…

Marlie turned towards the plate of food, quickly picking up the metal fork inside. The edges weren’t really sharp, but if she utilized it well enough, it’d do some damage. The lycan king had better not forget that she had promised to kill him that night and she wouldn’t stop trying until she succeeded, so he’d better kill her before that happened.

With shaking hands, Marlie shoved the tray from the door way and took its place; sitting down with the fork in her lap. She’d wait for his return, after all, he didn’t bring her here just to show her how well he was living.

The wait continued for hours, but Marlie did not move. At some point, even her legs were cramped and her body stiff, but a few stretches and she was good again. She waited until the room was pitch black, completely swarmed by the night that had taken over the world…and it was then that she heard movement from the outside.

She gripped the fork tighter, standing to her numb feet. The knob; she heard when it twisted and her heart started to beat even faster. The door creaked as it was pushed open, light from outside drifting inside, highlighting the fact that the person who had just now opened the door was the enemy she had been waiting to fight.

She ran forward, pulling her hand back before powerfully hammering it forward towards his neck. A frightened gasp left her lips when instead of being planted deep into his throat, the stupid fork was buried inside his fist.

She staggered back, blending in with the darkness as the door closed behind the cruel man, blocking the light from outside. “You would’ve caught me if I wasn’t prepared.”

A clicking sound was heard and immediately after, lights came on. The smile on his face was the first thing she saw, that same sick smile he had given her that night. He stepped towards her and Marlie tripped over her own feet when she tried to move away. “P-Please…I…”

“Please what?” He stooped in front of her with a chuckle. “You made a foolish decision my little human…one that you will indeed get punished for. I came here in a good mood, but now knowing that the woman I was so happy to see is trying to kill me spoiled it.”

He grabbed at her hair, pulling her to her feet and Marlie cried out. “Let go!”

“Come here…” He dragged her to the bed, sitting her on his lap before twisting her face towards him. “Tell me beautiful, how should I punish you for such insolence?”

So much for not going in when she was in there now, shaking like a leaf in Zhander’s arms. The bastard had shoved her in without a warning and when she was on the brink of drowning, he had come to her rescue. “You’re e-evil…I almost drowned.”“You weren’t drowning Marlie, you were just being overly dramatic.”“I wasn’t…” Marlie’s hands gripped his shoulders tighter, glancing down at the water that almost killed her. “I was going to die.”“As if I’d let that happen, stop exaggerating…the water is so shallow that we’re literally sitting in it.”Marlie puffed her cheeks, she didn’t have a comeback for that because it was the truth. They really were sitting in it ~Zhander at the bottom and her in his lap~ and the water only managed to reach up to the center of her back. But still, because of it, her hair was wet now and her nose was stuffy. “You didn’t have to d…”“Marlie…” His hands started to create circular motions on her back. “I thought we agreed that you’d beg me to f*ck you as soon

Zhander watched as his driver hauled the suitcase out of the car trunk before slamming it shut. “Where should I put it?” “Just follow me, Greg.” The middle-aged human obliged, following Zhander back towards where Xanthus and Romere stood, waiting for him with a small backpack in both their hands. “We didn’t bring much, but we brought clothes for the celebration tonight.” Xanthus looked around. “But I never thought I’d hate coming back here as much as I do now.” Zhander sighed, following his gaze towards where some of Zaid’s pack members stood. They were walking and staring and talking. It must be surprising that he was here since he hadn’t visited since Rosa’s death, so it was normal for them to stare, for them to talk…but them doing that only reminded him of back then when they all chose his brother instead of choosing him…when they all turned their backs on him claiming he was incompetent and unable to rule… And for that…he hated these lands and the very people on it. “Don’t min

Marlie slid out of Zhander’s arms, the towel garnered beneath her on the sheets that had been too wet to sleep on last night shifting along with her movements. Zhander stirred beside her, his heavy arm falling around her waist once again. “Where are you going?”“It’s none of your business…” Marlie looked away from him, away from his squinted eyes and away from the bold and annoying tattoo on his chest. “It’s nothing.”Zhander perched his head on his palm, staring down at her with deep curiosity. “If you were looking for your dress, then it’s all torn. I had the maids pack us a suitcase of clothes in the trunk of the car, but last night it had been too late to pack them out. I’ll go instruct someone to get them so you can shower and get dressed.” He sat up, finally releasing her. “Stay here until I get back.”Marlie’s eyes floated back over to him, holding a glare that depicted her hate for him. “Like I have anywhere else to go…how will I go outside naked?”“You’re right…” Zhander smil

Marlie clenched her hands against the sheets as Zhander stripped himself of clothes. He’d never done it before…the other times they’d done this, Marlie was the only person naked. But now that Zhander’s chest was bare, she couldn’t help but acquaint her eyes. There was a wolf howling towards a broken moon drawn beautifully on his chest, and these four letters were written beneath it… R. O. S. A. It was that name again…the one that now lived in her head; Rosa… Marlie blinked away from it, ignoring the way her heart churned in what she could only call pain. She didn’t know why, but for some reason, the fact that the name was printed across his chest didn’t sit right with her…she didn’t like it. It contradicted the words he’d just said. He said she was made for him and him for her…if that was so…why was Rosa’s name on his chest? Marlie’s hands loosened the sheets to cover herself once again…. She felt self-conscious all of a sudden…she felt as though she lacked something, something th

“Because I…I want you to f*ck me.” An animalistic growl left Zhander’s lips and after that, Marlie found herself on the bed and him on top of her. “You don’t know what you do to me…I swear.” He ripped the top of her dress and Marlie gasped out in surprise at the sound of the material being destroyed. “Turn around angel…let me take the corset off too.” Marlie slowly turned her back to him, feeling as he easily unlaced the leather material, pulling it off of her. He undid her bra and pulled her dress down her legs before turning her back to face him. “Don’t let this be like the last time…if you end up regretting our mating again it’ll be painful.” His finger ran along the waistband of her panty and Marlie stared anywhere but at him. “I-I won’t…” “So you’re telling me that I won’t have to worry about the pain? I won’t have to worry about your glares…any harsh words or your tears?” “I’m not a baby…I won’t cry, not this time.” “And if you do…must I punish you?” “A-Are you challengin

Zhander pulled away from the kiss, and Marlie shuffled uncomfortably in her spot. Her panty was wet, and her body was shaking. She thought the kiss would quell her desire, but it did nothing but heighten it. “I’ve dreamt of you actually taking the initiative…but I never thought I’d actually get to see it in real life. I can smell how needy you are, Marlie…I know, I’m sure that you want me.” Marlie clenched her legs together when the sound of his voice started to disturb her in multiple ways…just the sound of it had heat flaring up within her. Her core kept clenching and unclenching, and her clit kept convulsing. “This side of you gives me hope…” He forced his hand between her closed thighs, feeling for the part of her that was more desperate than any other. “That you will really be mine soon.” Marlie moaned when he roughly clutched onto her…though there was a dress, though there was a panty…she could still feel it all…the sparks and the undeniable pleasure. “Z-Zhander…!” “Hmm…?” H
