Chapter 121

Aurelia's POV

He locked me up in my room all day without a drop of water or a taste of food. I was drained and weakened by hunger and thirst by the time a maid came in carrying a tray.

She placed it on my bed and headed out. I didn't expect much from Adrian and since he was hellbent on punishing me, the small portion of food that was before me wasn't a surprise.

I had expected it. Regardless, I ate what I was given, in hopes that it wasn't poisoned but then again, if poison didn't kill me, starvation just might.

I could survive on only water but I wasn't just eating for myself this time around. I rubbed my belly- something that was slowly becoming a subconscious action but I had better get it under control if I didn't want Adrian to notice. He was neither dumb nor stupid. He could pick up on the strange habit in no time.
