Prescott's POV

“Your Majesty!” Wharton, the royal Beta, whom I had left the matter of the nation in his hands before leaving the royal Villa, his voice echoed through my mind and I let out a soft groan.

This was my first time hearing from him and being away for a couple of days.

“Yes, Wharton,” I said through the mind link as I slowly got up from the seat, after sparing my Queen a last glance.

I walked away from the dining room, not wanting to display any unnecessary facial expressions at the dining. I didn't know the purpose of my Beta’s mind link and I needed to be someone quiet to be able to express myself.

“How are you doing, Your Majesty? And how is the matter with the rogue, are you making any progress in finding the root of the rogues?” he asked in one breath, his voice came out hoarse and I let out a loud groan.

“I’m still on the rogues, I haven't gotten my hand on anything useful and it makes me feel sick.” I let out truthfully, didn't have any reason to hide the fact from my

Nova’s POVWalking through the dark hallway with my heart thumping hard against my chest, I held my shirt in my hand as fear engulfed me. What the hell are we going to say to people about his Majesty? What the hell would we say happened to His Majesty while he was at our pack? How the hell are we going to do with his body?A lot of questions lingered in my mind and I knew if I asked Tam, she wouldn't have an answer to them. It was clear she didn't think about the aftermath of our action but all she knew to do at that moment was to take revenge on His Majesty.Prescott gripped my hand, forcing me to stop on my track. I knew he had a lot of questions to ask me, but who was I to tell him what I had planned against him?Slowly, I turned on my heels when I felt his hold on my shoulders, telling me to turn around and look at his face. I couldn't see the clearer look on His Majesty's face but I knew he was worried about me. There was no light in the hallway, all the light here had been cut

Prescott’s POV“Don’t!” Nova yelled, her eyes shot at me with rage. I sighed, ready to take a step closer to her but stopped when she raised her palm, stopping me from coming closer to her.“Don’t come closer, you beast!” she screamed at me, her eyes were blazing with furyIt felt as though a bowl of chilled water was poured down on my head. I felt my stomach ached in pain as she rushed up to her sister who was lying quietly on the floor.“Beast!” I gasped, unable to believe my ears.Hearing her sister call me a beast didn't disgust me, in fact, I liked it when they called me names so it would always remind them how powerful I was.But hearing it from Nova made it seem like my world had come crumbling down at my feet. The way she said it, the disgusting look on her face as she called me that name made me wish I could just vanish into the thin air.“You call me a beast?” I didn't know when the words left my mouth. My lips shivered and my voice shook as I stared at her. Hoping she woul

Nova’s POVWalking out of the bathroom with a towel in my hand, I strolled over to the dresser with my dampened hair, wetting the floor I walked on.I got to the dresser and sat down quietly in front of the mirror while staring at my reflection in the mirror. My hair was scattered all over my face, my eyes were red due to excess cries and I watched as more tears rolled down my eyes.I sniffed, moving the towel to my head, absent-minded wiping my hair as my mind drifted back to earlier in the hallway.‘She used us! She used us to get to His Majesty!’Remembering the little voice that yelled out to me in the hallway, I jumped out of the stool, falling to the floor with my head hitting hard against the tiled floor. My head hurt but what I was feeling in my heart hurt more than the one I was hurting in my head.“Why did I do it? Why the hell did I agree to do it?” I sob quietly, my heart clenched as I recalled how I had stabbed Prescott with that dagger. My hands curled into a tight fist

Nova’s POV My dear Queen Nova,I know that our marriage has not been a definitive one, nor has it been one of love. I am not a man who knows how to love, and I have never loved anyone before. All I have known is friendship, and I always thought that was enough for me. But then, I brought you into my life, which somehow changed everything.I never thought I would someday regret my actions, nor have I ever thought I would one day say this to anyone, but I regret ever making you be in a marriage against your will.I never realized how much I was hurting you, because you had never said a word, never once complained. But when you hugged me that day in front of your father's building, and when you wrapped your arms around my neck in my apartment, I thought maybe there was something more between us. I never realized that it was just your way of showing your gratitude. I'm so sorry, I should have seen how my actions were affecting you. Please don't blame yourself for what happened in there.

Prescott’s POV The cars pulled to a halt in front of the building, The door opened from the outside and I stepped down from the car.I stared at the guards who had lined up in front of the building with a weak smile on my face.“Greetings to His Majesty, our acclaimed King!” they all chanted and I felt the smile on my face grow wilder, spreading across my face.“Greetings.” I smiled, giving them my sincere smile as their arms crossed over their chests in greetings.I turned around to see my men had already stepped down from the car and the car had been driven away from the entrance.“Take that file to my bed chamber,” I said to the nearest person to me.“Yes, Your Majesty!” he bowed before walking away to deliver the message.“Prescott!” I heard that cheerful voice of Ulrica, calling out to me her voice echoed through the corridor and I felt the corner of my lips curved into a smirk.I moved my gaze away from the guards to the royal building, there she was, running towards me as if h

Nova’s POV Tears welled up in my eyes as I quietly walked down the foyer. My legs felt light, my entire body felt heavy and it seemed like I was going to fall down on my knees any moment from now.‘I don't have anything to say to you, please leave.’ Prescott's words to me kept replaying in my head and I couldn't do anything to stop my mind from repeating those hurtful words. Why did he do that? Did he really not want to see me again? Did I make the wrong choice by coming here?“No! I didn't make the wrong choice,” I shook my head, “coming back is the right choice I could ever make.” I sniffed, tears rolled down my eyes as I kept walking aimlessly to the building I shared with His Majesty.I couldn't call it “Ours” because it was more like I was the only one staying in the building. Ever since the coronation, Prescott had never slept in the building that it would make sense if I could just call it my building.I kept on walking with my thoughts on Prescott whom I had gravely sinned a

Nova’s POV The chiming of the bell woke me up from my slumber, hoping to the goddess it was his Majesty that was at the door. After staying awake all night, in the King’s hall, waiting for the man who never come back home. I raised my head, staring at the wall clock to see that it was already 6:30 a.m., in the morning.I rolled out of the king size bed and hurriedly slid my feet into the flip-flop. I tried to calm my self but my heart was throbbing with joy.“Finally, his Majesty is here! I will finally get to explain myself to him!” I exclaimed as I raced to get the door.My hand curled around the doorknob, I took a deep breath before twisting the door open. I gulped down nervously as I opened the door for him, my eyes shut on its own as I opened the door wild. “Good morning, your Highness!” Instead of the baritone voice of his Majesty, I heard the cheerful voice of Anika and I flung my eyes opened as realization dawned on me.My eyes widened in both disappointment and shock as I s

Prescott’s POV Sitting behind my office desk with my palm on my chest, gently caressing the part that got stabbed with that poisoned dagger. “Ummm,” I let out a painful moan as my fingers softly pressed on the wound that was still covered with plaster. I hadn't completely healed from the wound because of the poison that was used on the dagger and the thought about the person behind it made me want to demolish the pack. The corner of my mouth curved into a smirk as the scene replayed in my head. The grin on the first daughter's face as she plucked the dagger into my chest made me wish I had killed her on the spot, right there in front of Nova whom she had talked into rebelling against me.But then again, what will Nova say about me? Wouldn't that prove her right that I was truly a beast she had accused me of being?I let in a drag of air as my mind drifted off to Nova and I wondered how she was doing. Was she busy resenting me? Or has she moved on with her life?I couldn't stop ques

Nova’s POV “Has she been given a name?” I asked, gazing down at my niece's tiny hand, her tiny fingers wrapped around my pinky. She was the most precious thing I had ever seen, and I couldn't help but feel a surge of love for her. Tamsyn shook her head, her eyes never leaving her daughter's face. “No, we haven't given her a name yet,” she said, her voice soft and full of wonder. “I was so sure it would be a boy, and I'd been planning to name him after his father. But now...I'm at a loss. I don't know what to name her.” She paused, her gaze shifting to meet mine. “I want her name to be perfect, to capture everything she is.” “What about Dahlia?” Prescott spoke up for the first time since we got to the pack and I had to turn around to stare at my husband from where he was standing at the far end of the room. “Dahlia?” I asked, not believing Prescott would want to take up the task of naming my niece. “Why Dahlia?” Tamsyn asked from where she was lying down on the hospital bed.

Ulrica’s POV“Don't tell me you're still sulking over the fact that your crush chose some cock over you?” I asked, my lips parting in disbelief as I watched Shayna continue to give everyone the cold shoulder. I couldn't help but burst out laughing - the whole situation was just too ridiculous. How could she be so upset over something so trivial? I mean, sure, getting rejected by your crush is never easy, but it's not like it's the end of the world. There are plenty of other fish in the sea! Everest groaned from where she sat, patting Shayna on the back. “Oh, please. That's rich coming from you.” she scoffed.“Don’t act all innocent. You chased after my cousin for years and didn't eventually get him. You shouldn't be acting all mighty, you know?”I had always known Everest to be a grumpy, no-nonsense type of lady - if you could even call her a “lady” with the way she acted. But I never expected her to be so fiercely protective of Shayna. I mean, when did they become best friends? The

I haven't gotten over the incident and Prescott did little to nothing to make me get over the incident.Every action he took, every word he uttered and his sudden possessive act reminded me of that horrible incident that happened to me a month ago. I'm taking her back to where she belongs.” I smirked, closing the little distance between me and him.Elder Bighana slightly raised one brow, his smile deepened as he lowered his head, smirking down at me.“And where did she belong? I gulped down nervously before moving the bottle to my mouth.“He said he would get rid of me tomorrow, it can't be possible that he gave me poison to drink, right?” I breathed out, the fear of drinking poison weighed me down, but if he was to poison me he would have done it by himself.I parted my lips and poured the whole content into my mouth, I didn't feel anything at first, so I gulped it down my throat. My throat hurt like hell, it was as if the content was tearing my throat apart. I slid into the shadows, desperate to avoid the man who had caused so much pain. He was a monster, and I couldn't face him again. The door opened, and I gripped my chest as I heard the footsteps moving towards me.“There you are, my sweet queen.” The voice was sickeningly familiar, but I couldn't place it. He was shackled to an iron chair, his body bare except for a pair of shorts. Blood streaked his torso, and I could see claw marks on his chest. He was broken, his eyes glazed over in defeat.
