-Anastasia- 10 years later. “Roman!” I yelled loudly for my mate, who came rushing into the bathroom where I was standing, leaning a little against the sink. “What? What happened?” He had only just gotten a t-shirt on and looked at me worriedly. He could feel through the bond how scared I was and saw the look on my face too as I turned my head and focused on him. “This is your fault!” I told him. “What?” He looked at me, confused, not at all understanding what I was talking about. “This!” I grabbed the pregnancy test and held it up to him. He took it and then a smile spread across his lips. “I see.” “We said three!” I told him. “Seems like we will be four instead,” he told me. I crossed my arms and glared at him, and he chuckled, coming over to me and wrapping an arm around my waist before kissing me. “You’re the one who asked me to take care of your through your heat,” he said. “We could have used sedatives instead.” “We already have three! I thought since it hadn’t hap

-Jackson- The rain poured down on me, but I barely felt it. I pushed my body harder than ever. I was more fueled by energy than I had ever been before. My wolf was clawing inside of me, growling and pissed off. He would not be quiet these days. He was always grumbling and demanding I did more to get our mate back, to win her over. I wanted to. I wanted nothing more, but Daphne was no ordinary wolf. She was not even a wolf. Daphne was a lycan from a high-status family. She had been engaged to the king, who was now mated to my cousin. They had had their problems, but after meeting Roman, Ana was happier than ever. She had avenged her family, taking down Roman’s distant relative, who was the one behind the attack on Ana’s family. My uncle, aunt, and second cousin had been slaughtered together with the entire pack, just because the wolves were getting a little braver, wanting more of a say since we outnumbered the lycans these days. They were more powerful, therefore it was harder for the
-Jackson- If there was one thing my parents had taught me, it was that a rejection was never a solution and something very disrespectful thing to do. Not just to your mate, but to the Goddess. A rejection should only be done if you had an abusive mate. There were no other times when a rejection was acceptable. At least not in my parents’ minds. They were each other’s true mates. My aunt and uncle had been true mates as well. Ana and Roman were true mates, and it was clear just from looking at all of them that honoring the bond was the key to a happy future, one filled with joy and wonderful moments. I was so shocked that my dad couldn’t even say it, and it was clear it pained him to even utter the words. “Dad… what are you saying?” “I am saying I am looking at half the child I used to have,” he said. “I’m worried. Your mother is scared for you, and you’re this pack’s future alpha. They need you, and you can’t keep this going.” “You and mom have always taught me how important it is
-Daphne- “I don’t know,” my mom said as she walked around me and the tailors around me tried to take care of the last few things of my ceremony dress. It felt tighter than I thought it should, or maybe it was knowing my union day was about to approach that made me unable to breathe. I couldn’t say anymore. It always felt like I was drowning these days or couldn’t breathe. I had begun having panic attacks, but I didn’t know how to stop them. They came out of the blue, hitting me hard, and I knew if I told my mother how much I was regretting my decision, she would just look at me like I was crazy and tell me what a great opportunity this was to bring me back to my former status. While Roman had made it clear to everyone that there was no flaw in me and that he had chosen Ana because they were true mates, people loved gossiping. They loved seeing a star fall, so they could talk about it and make that star feel like trash. I heard people whisper about me still, and while I could survive
-Daphne- My mother’s voice practically echoed off the walls and her shouting drew my father to enter the room. He must have been walking by, and while he often didn’t want to deal with my mother’s moods, he seemed to know I might need some assistance. While my father had treated me like his little princess, I knew he wouldn’t be on my side when it came to this. “What’s going on here?” my dad asked. “Our daughter is in love.” “Oh?” “With a werewolf.” “With a what?” my dad asked, and I glanced over my shoulder, seeing him come closer. “I’m sure I heard wrong.” “No, it’s true…” “Why? How?” “We are… mates,” I said. “True mates.” They surprised me that I was even able to keep it a secret for as long as I had, but I knew how my parents would react. It wouldn’t be pretty. I couldn’t keep it in any longer, though. If there was any hope that I could be with Jackson, then I had to take it. “True mates?” my dad asked. “With a werewolf?” I could see the smile on his lips. He found it a
-Jackson- I was sitting by the lit bar, nursing a drink. My friends had forced me to come out tonight, not liking to see how isolated I had become, but I didn’t want to go out. Only because they kept nagging me and I knew my parents were just as worried, did I go, but I was sitting by myself enjoying the drink, while my friends went “hunting”. I had my fun myself. I was no saint, but now, after meeting Daphne, I couldn’t get hard for anyone. I didn’t even want to chase. I wanted to chase only one person, and she didn’t want me to. Go get her! Shut up! I growled at my wolf as I sipped my drink. “Jackson!” One of my friends came up to me, slammed his hand against my back, and almost made me spill my drink. “Fucker,” I mumbled low. “Jackson, meet Ivory,” Gary introduced and made a female wolf sit down in front of me. He winked at me and patted my shoulder. “You’re welcome,” he whispered in my ear, and I shook my head. He knew about Daphne. Everyone knew I had met my mate, but th

-Daphne- Two years later. “Jackson?” I walked into my mate’s office. Often we would sit there together, but I had woken up later today. He lifted his head and smiled at me as he saw me enter. “Hey,” he said, his smile growing the closer I came to him. I walked around the desk and smiled playfully. He tried to reach for me to pull me closer, but I moved away and he looked puzzled. “Can’t I touch you now?” he chuckled. “Not yet.” “Oh, are we playing?” “Yup, my own little special game.” “Is that the game where you tease the hell out of me with your mouth and tongue?” he asked. “No.” “Where you strip and make me go crazy?” “No.” “I am getting confused now,” he said, making me chuckle. “What kind of game are we playing?” “A guessing game.” “Okay,” he said. “Is there a prize for me to win?” He smiled mischievously, and I nodded. “I am all in then.” “Tell me the first thing that comes to mind when I say a word,” I told him. “Okay.” “House.” “A home,” he said. “Love.” “
-Jackson- Daphne had her fears, but after I recovered and her parents received a proper sentence locking them away for years, Daphne stepped up to the role of luna. I had never seen her flourish more. It was like this hidden side of her had been slumbering, waiting to come out and show what she could truly do. We gave her members a choice, but almost everyone wanted to rather be merged than be on their own. She and those who wanted moved to our territory, but she still owned the former land and house her parents had, and told anyone who wanted to stay could, but they would still be under both our controls. It was going great between us, and I watched from afar as my mate was coming back from a late run. We were both so busy we barely had time to truly enjoy being together. My dad was stepping down, and I was becoming alpha more and more until I would receive all the control from him. Daphne smiled as she saw me coming up onto the porch and I pulled her closer and kissed her. “Hey,” I
-Daphne- I was fuming. I couldn’t believe what my family had wanted to do. This was so much further than I realized they could ever take it, and I had demanded my mother was arrested too. Roman had no problems with it. I couldn’t believe they thought they could get away with this, but sometimes greed made people reckless and it made them think they were invincible. They weren’t, though, and I would never speak to them again. Jackson had to undergo a minor surgery, but the doctor assured me he would recover fast, and it wasn’t long before he woke up, all of us there. His eyes found me first, though, and he smiled at me so sweetly. “Hey,” he whispered. “How are you feeling?” “Sleepy.” “Yeah, the drugs are wearing off slowly.” “Mmm, wonderful,” he whispered. Jackson’s parents moved closer, and I let them have a moment with him as I waved Roman with me out into the hallway. He followed me and we stopped a little further away. “I can’t believe they did this,” I said. “How do you wa
-Jackson- I was on the ground, bleeding and completely beaten up. I had tried nothing like it before. I had fought before. I had had my ass kicked, and I had been close to death, but this just seemed personal, and so the pain was different. I was unsure how many had attacked me, but the smell of lycan filled the room, so I knew it was no small wolves who had come after me. I had been able to take down one of them and he laid on the ground not far from me, but the others were standing above me, and I was unsure why they had stopped kicking me. Soon the door opened, and I saw nice shoes coming my way. I was able to keep my eyes open enough to slowly let them wander up the body, and seeing Daphne’s father in front of me. “You have made a lot of problems for me,” he accused. I tried speaking, but I just coughed up blood. “I need to have you removed so I can take home my daughter.” Hadn’t he tried ruining her with those rumors? Why kill me now? “She… is… mine,” I croaked out. “Not fo
-Jackson- Daphne was scared to begin with as we began the dance, but when I asked her what it matter what other people thought, she seemed to realize something and began enjoying our night. I led her around through two dances before we finally joined the party and began to mingle. Not a lot wanted to talk to us. They either thought Daphne was some kind of whore, giving herself to a wolf, or maybe her family had made people believe she had given herself away to many. Or that I was a lunatic who had kidnapped her in the night and made her fall in love with me. That she was suffering from some kind of Stockholm Syndrome, but the people we spoke to were quickly convinced otherwise. They saw the love in our eyes. They noticed how affectionate we were with each other, and it changed their view of things. I knew some people we could never convince, but they didn’t want to be convinced. They want to believe the drama, because it was what excited them, but we wouldn’t care. Daphne and I were h
-Daphne- Jackson came up behind me as I stood in the closet, all dressed up. He kissed my neck and made me feel so calm and secure pressed to his powerful body. I moaned a little as he kissed the mark on my shoulder. My dress had no sleeves or straps and my hair was up, so everyone could see I was taken. I knew it pleased my mate a lot. It was a way to tell everyone to fuck off if they tried anything. I squeezed his hands on my stomach before I turned around and he rested his on my hips. “You ready?” “Not really,” I admitted. “Why not?” “I am so nervous. I have never stood up to them before.” He smiled a little and kissed me. “You’re not alone.” I smiled back and finally noticed how sexy my mate looked in a suit. I ran my hands down his arms and back up, and I knew he saw the shift in me. “Like what you see?” “Very much,” I confessed. “You look amazing too,” he complimented me. I smiled even bigger, feeling how warm my cheeks grew. “I love you,” I told him again. Over the
-Jackson- Later in the evening, as rain began to pour, and we had eaten dinner, my family gathered in one of the living rooms. Just my parents, me and Daphne, and Ana and Roman. We were all sipping drinks, munching on snacks, and talking. I really enjoyed being there with them. I loved them all so much, and when I turned to look at my mate, I could feel it in my heart too. I was falling for Daphne, and I couldn’t wait until we could start our life together, with no one trying to interrupt our happiness. “So, when are you heading home?” I asked Ana. “Oh, want to get rid of me that fast, huh?” We all chuckled. “Just asking.” “No, you are trying to kick me out,” she teased. I shook my head, and she finally turned serious. “No, we are going home tomorrow, and then will begin setting everything up for the party.” “It will be the party from hell,” Daphne said. “No, it will be fine,” Roman assured her. “Is there anything special we should be prepared for?” my mother asked. “Just t
-Daphne- Roman and I were walking beside each other outside. Jackson and Ana decided to spend some time together after Roman asked if he could have a moment with me. I was glad he asked, because I had missed my friend and I needed his guidance. It wasn’t just Jackson I had been hiding from. It was Roman and Ana too. After the dinner with Shane, I had simply gone back to my old life and acted like I could be the same person again. The one who could be the perfect lycan luna, and get mated to a complete stranger. The one who pleased her parents, no questions asked. I wasn’t that person, though. I had never wanted to be that person. On the inside I was so much different, but I didn’t know how to escape them. “So, how is it going?” Roman asked. “It’s… good,” I said, searching for the right word, but not even good could describe how wonderful I felt, and when Roman saw the smile on my lips, he began smiling too. “You look better.” “Better?” “Taller,” he said. “Yeah, Jackson brings so
