ARIA

The more I tried to avoid Aaliya, the harder it became. She was always there. When I didn't go to her, she came to me. She knew I was trying to push her out after intentionally spilling tea on me but she apologised and warned her way back into my heart.

She started coming over more frequently, staying later each time, as if hoping to see the king again. Her presence became a constant, her eyes always lingering a little too long on the door, waiting for him to appear. Whenever she heard a knock, she would jump and her expression eould shift to disappointment whenever she realised he wasn't the one. I noticed it, but I tried to ignore the unease gnawing at me.

But that wasn't exactly my problem. My issue with Aaliya was that she always came dressed in the dresses I gave to her: hate to say it looks good on her, and recently she had been styling her hair the way I did and spraying a little of my fragrance. It was so faint you wouldn't pick out the scent if you weren't next to her an

ARIAI slipped into my bedroom and stripped out of my clothes. A wide smile was plastered on my face as I recounted the day's journey.I had fun with Aaliya today. We went to watch some of the warriors on the training ground and she even flirted shamelessly with two. I had also gone because I wanted to see Onyx. He didn't stick to the plan and also didn't show up on the first day of our private training. But he wasn't there either.I let the water wash over the stress and sweat of the day and let it bring relief to my spirit. Soon it would be dinnertime and I needed to ensure I didn't miss out or show up late. After my bath, I slipped into my dress again and rushed down the stairs to the dining room. But when I got there, the Beta's were already leaving and so was Irish. She flashed me a look I couldn't understand and the Beta brothers just smiled at me and left.Zavier was there, but the plates before him were empty. As if sensing my presence he lifted his head. His eyes were dark an

ARIAThe king and I hardly spoke for days. I refused to let him into my room, and without his protective scent at night, I felt a hollow sadness and disappointment. I missed his presence, but my stubbornness kept me from reaching out.We barely ate dinner together. Not because I was always hanging out with Aaliya, but because I didn't want to see him even though I missed him. I didn't want any arguments either. And lately he had been engrossed with work, discussing the ball and the spy network with his advisors. And Irish, I barely saw her around also as the Beta's and the loneliness was draining. I was done with Aaliya's problems. She was suffocating and had no new thing to say. All she wanted was to talk about the Alpha and there was nothing I was willing to share about my mate.I climbed out of bed, where I had been for the past two days and was surprised to find I could move my legs. I was almost afraid I was becoming furniture. I forced myself to the bathroom and had my bath.Wh

ARIAZavier, determined to keep me safe, sent two warriors to guard my room, ensuring no one irrelevant could visit me. I wasn't allowed to leave without his permission, which only fueled my anger. Feeling trapped, I decided I was going to use my superpowers to escape.Days passed, and my exhaustion grew. I missed the king's protective scent at night, his warmth, his presence. My stubbornness waned, replaced by a longing to reconcile. Finally, I decided to find him. Making myself invisible, I slipped out. I made my way to his office, my heart pounding with each step.As soon as I entered, I was overwhelmed by his scent. Although he was nowhere to be found which gave me enough time. The warmth of his room washed through me and I felt an unfamiliar heat spreading through my body. I was hot, really hot and I needed something to quench the fire that was intensifying within me.-stop it, Aria. You're driving me to the edge.“I'm trying Celine,” I whispered to my wolf. “But I can't. I miss

That was when his scent hit me. I slowly forced my eyelids apart. I was in the king's bedroom!I found myself wrapped in his embrace, the warmth of his body seeped into my skin and I shifted comfortably, a smile playing on my lips. I recounted yesterday's events of how I got caught trying to run and it became funnier. I stretched, feeling surprisingly happy.I lifted my head gently, to sneak a peek at him but rather I found him watching me.The king smiled down at me and the shyness crept in. “Good morning,” he murmured.I stared down at my fingers, as the shyness overwhelmed me. “Good morning Alpha.”“Did you sleep well?” He asked, still watching me with his beautiful eyes.I nodded, “yeah I did. I feel better.”“That's what happens when you sleep next to me,” he joked and gazed into my eyes. “Don't you

ARIAStaying in the Alpha’s room wasn't as bad as I thought. It wasn't any much different from mine, except I knew by the end of the day, a man was coming home to me and we would have dinner and go to bed together. But we still tried our best not to be seen together by anyone,to avoid gossip. The only people who knew were the Betas and although I still hadn't said a word about it to Irish, I suspected she knew I was the Alpha’s mate.Every morning, before the Alpha left, I helped him get dressed which was literally my favourite part. Knotting his tie with care, the way he had taught me. And the kisses we shared when I wore his tux for him or sprayed his cologne. I could get used to this type of life.“I may be late today, princess,” he said and pulled me in for a warm hug.“How long though?” I inquired.“Long enough to miss dinner,” he said.I nodded in understanding. “I guess I'll be stuck here again. But that's okay. I will blend with the furniture.”A hearty laugh left his mouth an

ZAVIERAs the water cascaded down my body, I felt the need to keep her around me so I called it her name. . There was an unsettling silence before she slowly answered her name.“Serve me wine, please,” I said.“In the bathroom?” She sounded innocent and unsure and it tugged at my heartstrings.“Yes, in the bathroom,” I said. There went the silence again but I could scent how close she was. She was either at the door or close to it.“Your Majesty, don't you think it's wrong to serve you in the bathroom?”I smirked as I pictured her timid face. “No please, but you can have the maids serve me too. I wouldn't mind.”A light growl escaped her throat. “You don't mean it, do you? Why would I have the maids serve you in the bathroom?”“Because it makes you uncomfortable.”She didn't respond back this time but rather, the door opened slowly. Her small head poked in. “Are you sure you want me to?”“Yes, I am,” I said, trying to lure her in.She walked in, bearing a golden tray and a bottle of w

ARIAThe sound of someone knocking at the door woke me from my sleep. I groaned and forced my eyelids apart. I was exhausted from sleeping and my body ached all over.As always, the king wasn’t by my side. His absence was becoming constant, something I was reluctantly getting used to. With a sigh, I dragged myself out of bed and went to open the door. Standing there was Irish, the healer, waiting outside.“Good morning, my lady,” Irish said, bowing slightly.“Please, Irish, stop being so formal. You know how it makes me feel. Just call me Aria,” I replied with a smile.“Oh of course, my lady,” she said with a smirk.I rolled my eyes at her. “What brings you here so early?”Irish chuckled softly. “It’s not early, Aria. It’s already noon. I came to invite you to brunch with me.”I glanced at the clock, surprised by how late it was. I must have overslept. “I haven’t had my bath yet, and I don't want to let you down but I’m not sure if His Majesty would want me to go out.”“Don’t worry,”

ARIAThe night was heavy with a thick silence as I slipped out of the room, my heart pounding in my chest. After Zavier had denied me access to the ball, my anger and disappointment had simmered until I couldn’t bear it anymore. I needed a distraction, something to take my mind off the betrayal I felt. Onyx was the only person I could think of, the only one who could provide that distraction.I made my way to the secret place where Onyx and I had agreed to train. It was a secluded clearing in the pack, hidden from prying eyes. As I approached, I saw Onyx practicing his swordsmanship, his movements smooth and calculated. He looked up, surprised to see me.“Aria?” he called out, sheathing his sword. “What are you doing here? You didn’t inform me you were coming.”“I needed to get away,” I said, my voice tight with frustration. “The king denied me access to the ball. I can’t stand being cooped up in that palace anymore.”Onyx’s brow furrowed with concern as he walked towards me. “I’m sor

ARIAFor months I stayed inside fearing to come outside. Not because of my bulging belly I couldn't hide anymore but because of the accusations. The rumour of Aaliya’s child loss and the king's first heir had spread like wildfire.Aaliya had spiralled into madness after losing her baby. She became angry, blaming both Zavier and I for her loss and deep down, I bore the guilt. The first and last time I visited her, she had lost control. Her once-beautiful features were twisted with grief and rage. “You took everything from me!” She had screamed, snatching a pair of scissors from her drawer.I ran back, dodging her and pleading with her. “Please don't Aaliya, I'm sorry.”“If you hadn't run off he wouldn't have come after you and my child would have still been alive. That's all you wanted isn't it? You get pregnant and I lose mine.”She had thrown the scissors but Artemis had come just in time to get me out of there. Aaliya had been taken to the clinic and it was suggested that it was be

ARIAAt the first light of dawn, I moved quickly through the palace, my heart pounding in her chest as I kept looking behind my shoulders. The air was cold, the kind that clung to your skin and made you feel alive. I had secured a few of my belongings under my cloak and the pressure made it difficult to walk but I didn't stop. Not this time.“My lady,” One of the guards called, causing me to halt in my footsteps. How did they camouflage in the dark cause I could swear I saw no one.“Flynn,” I say, turning around with a fake smile plastered on my face.He stepped out of the dark, his Armour glistening in the moonlight as he took a bow.“You dropped this,” he said and gestured to the pink scarf in his hands. Oh shit! He must've seen it fall from under my clothes.“Thank you,” I said nervously as I gingerly took it from him. “I barely even realised.“Where are you headed so early my Lady? The palace is still asleep,” he said, eyeing me suspiciously.“I want to take sparkles for a race an

ARIA Panic surged through my veins, my body going cold despite the warmth of the atmosphere and the heat of his gaze on me.“Why didn't you tell me about the child, ARIA?” He demanded, his voice low but dangerous. My eyes widened and my breath hitched in my throat. How did he know? Who had told him, could it be Artemis? No– I was in the damn clinic. The doctor must have had me tested. My mind screamed for me to run, to get away from him and everyone but rather I couldn't move. Couldn't speak.“Answer me! “ He growled, his voice growing impatient by the minute.“I… I don't—” I stammered, taking a shaky step backward but my legs felt heavy and slow like I was trying to walk through quick sand. Before I could move again, his hand shot out, grabbing my wrist firmly and pinning me against the wall. His hold wasn't painful, but it was enough to stop me and make me feel trapped. “Don't lie to me Aria,” he warned, an edge of pain to his voice. “Don't you dare lie to me.You're carrying my c

ZAVIERFor weeks, I tried to adjust to the changes around me. Aria barely had dinner or breakfast with me. She was always reserved, and I barely caught a glimpse of her. Aaliya had made me bring most of her things to my room because she needed my attention and believed it formed a bond with the baby. I was exhausted by her constant presence, but all I wanted was for her to have the baby, nurse him for three months, and then I’d pay her off to leave.I missed Aria terribly. She never came out of her room, and when she did, it was only for brief moments. I saw her from afar sometimes, but often, she seemed to disappear entirely. The palace felt empty without her presence. The betas, who used to be lively and engaging, had become more quiet and reserved since Irish left. They barely told me things or joked with me anymore. I considered bringing Irish back, knowing she always made Aria happy and that would please the betas. One morning, while having breakfast with Aaliya and my betas, Ari

ARIAWhen I woke up, a shadow loomed over me. Startled, I jerked up to see Artemis towering above my bed. "Get off!" I yelled, and she jumped back, her eyes wide with fear."Sorry! I was just—" she stammered."What were you doing?" I demanded, sitting up fully."I was checking your temperature," she explained, trying to compose herself."Why?" I narrowed my eyes. "Are you gay or something? Look, I’m not homophobic, but I’m not interested in women.”Artemis burst out laughing. "No, no. I was genuinely checking your temperature. You seemed unwell.”I frowned. "I caught you staring at my lips."She took a deep breath and stared at me. "Why were you drinking last night, Aria?”I threw my hands up in exasperation. "Why is everyone trying to be my parent? And did you forget the rules? Stay out of my business.”"Drinking is unhealthy for you," she replied calmly. "You need to be careful, especially now that you’re early.”"Early?" I repeated, confusion clouding my mind. "What do you mean by

THIRD PERSON POVAria woke up to an empty room. Artemis was gone for now, and for that, she felt a wave of relief. It wasn’t that she hated her, but she couldn’t get used to someone new. She relished the solitude for a moment before deciding to start her day. After a quick shower, she realized most of her clothes were still in Zavier’s room. With a sigh, she wrapped herself in a robe, letting her dripping wet hair rest on her shoulders, creating a messy trail down her back. She called for her maid, Beatrix.Beatrix entered the room with a smile. "Good morning, my lady. What do you need?”"I need you to get my things from Zavier’s room. Most of my dresses are at his and my undergarments too," Aria said, trying to sound casual.Beatrix paused, her smile faltering. "Okay my lady. Are you coming for the event today, my lady?”Aria raised an eyebrow. "What event?”Beatrix looked at her, a little confused. "The celebration for the king’s expected child.”Aria felt a chill run down her spine

ARIAAs soon as I made myself invisible, I slipped out of the palace, my heart pounding in my chest. I had to find Onyx. He was the only friend I had left. The only one who hadn't been driven away by Zavier. My mind raced with thoughts of Irish's departure and the unbearable loneliness that seemed to grow every day.Onyx agreed to meet me in our secret space, a hidden alcove in the forest where we used to train together. When he arrived, his face lit up at the sight of me, but I noticed he was keeping a ridiculous amount of distance."Onyx," I called softly as I made myself visible. He looked relieved to see me but still stayed a few steps back."Aria," he said, his voice warm but cautious. "It's good to see you. What's wrong?”I couldn't hold back my tears any longer. "Irish left. The king made her go.”He nodded, as if he had expected it. "I figured it would happen. The king is removing everyone you're close to, Aria. That's why... that's why I've made up my mind too.”"What do you

ZAVIERHer fiery gaze burned deep holes into my skin, causing my stare at her to waver. She was hurt but there wasn't a thing I was willing to do about it. I detested the way everything was.She needed to learn and with Irish around, she wouldn't. Irish needed to leave for her to live in understanding. Irish didn't teach Aria bad values but if she offended, she knew the healer would always take her in and then she would see no reason to apologise for her wrongdoing or learn from her mistakes. She approached me, picking her steps carefully. “I hate you Zavier.”“I know, and that's okay,” I said and gripped her wrist in my fist. “I've asked the guards to move most of your things to her bedroom so that way, you'll feel more connected.”“You are a sadistic fucker,” she cursed but I could hear the pain in her voice. My eyes followed the long queue and came in contact with Irish. She flashed me a bright smile and waved at me. My heart clenched but I nodded at her. After Irish left, I watche

I jumped from my seat in a shock and rushed to her, wondering what had caused her to elict tears.“Irish,” I said, rushing to her side. “What's going on?”Before she had the chance to say a word, her door was forced open with a force that made my heart skip a beat. Three guards walked in with an ugly look on their face. They didn't spare me a glance. Instead they walked up to Irish and began to yell at her to pack up.“What is wrong with you?” I screamed at them at the top of my lungs.Still, they pushed her hard against the wall and began to scatter the room. I couldn't wrap my arms around what was going on. I rushed to the guard who was constantly hitting her and threw myself at him. I was fueled by anger and frustration.“Leave her the fuck alone,” I screamed, punching him hard in the face even though I knew one sing of his arm was all I needed to end up in bed.“Stay out of this, Aree,” Irish whispered, blood tri
