Athena’s POV

I hurriedly grabbed something to wear and found I couldn't walk properly, I watched alpha Daniel getting closer to me and this time he was entirely clad, the notion of shifting back to our human form and being completely nude and being in such close proximity made me feel extremely uneasy.

I hurriedly got away from him and decided to go to the pack clinic to take care of my health. I limped to the clinic and found the pack nurse busy with several patients.

"What happened to your legs?" she inquired as she averted her sight from the patient she was tending to.

“It's nothing serious, just some scratches,” I said, and she nodded gently holding my legs to see the extent of my injuries,

“I will be right back to treat you, go to that room, I will join you as soon as I am done,” she said, pointing at a door and I nodded, watching her disappear into one of the doors.

I proceeded to the room she had asked me to wait in and sat on the bed, feeling somewhat relaxed. I sigh

Andrew’s POV I grinned as I walked around the pack, pleased with the state of things; the pack isn't back to its former splendor, but there has been a significant improvement thanks to Edna, whom I can't thank enough. I expected she would stop talking to me and refuse to help the pack after I left her in my office the last time because I didn't want to complicate our relationship any further. Edna isn't the person I want; I only want Athena, and I will do all in my power to get her. I came to a halt when I spotted Edna; the breeze was blowing her sundress, and she had to hold the dress tightly because the dress was slitted at the top way above her knee level. "Alpha Andrew," she said as she was inches away from me. "Edna, I wasn't expecting to see you" I murmured, and she chuckled, her eyes darting over the field where we were standing. "Yeah, I checked your office, and you weren't there, so I came down here and my guess was correct, you were here for some sightseeing," she

Daniel’s POV I was working on some papers in my office when I heard a knock on the door. I dropped the file in my hand and whispered come in. The door was opened, and Beta Carl entered with another file in his hand. "Good morning, alpha," he murmured, and I nodded, taking the file from him. "How was your night?"I inquired, and he nodded slightly. "It was all right. I completed all you requested. I was able to acquire a small amount of information that isn't much help"Beta Carl mentioned something that piqued my interest. "What did you find, any information on Andrea?"I inquired about her. I wanted to be ahead of the game, and it's a little disconcerting that I haven't heard anything about her and her brother after the war, I know they are not dead and they are probably somewhere. "I was only able to find out about Lucas her brother, he had formed his little pack, he gathered rogues and trained to offer them protection and that way they became part of his pack, he had been d

Daniel’s POV "Are you sure you want to hear mine and Andrew's story?"I inquired, and she eagerly nodded. I couldn't say no to her; for the first time since Athena returned to the pack with me, she wanted to have a conversation, even if it was not about us; it made me happy. "We can't talk here, so let's go to my chambers," I murmured, and she arched her brow at me, curiosity was eating her up and she had no choice but to follow me. We entered my chambers together, and I noticed Athena looking around, it had been a while since she had stepped foot in my chamber, and it wasn't a good memory, I had no idea why I was being mean to her, maybe because she was chosen to be a breeder, or perhaps I was just frustrated because I was cursed never to have a mate. "Andrew is a few months older than me; my father had a one-night stand with his mother before meeting my mother. My father refused to accept his pregnancy at first, fearing it would ruin his image; nevertheless, my mother forced hi

Andrea’s POV I entered the grand hall and noticed that the chandelier was hung low; I looked around and wondered why the hall had been adorned in this manner; the servants were scurrying about, and Alpha Gideon was standing close to his throne with a file in his hand. I walked quickly to meet him, and he raised his head to see me, cleared his throat, and I had the most seductive smile on my face ever, "Alpha Gideon." "Andrea, what is it that brought you here?"I came closer as he asked, and he immediately closed the file he was carrying and dropped it beside him. "I was bored and decided to pay a visit to the love of my life. I can leave if you are too busy though” I said and he chuckled "I can hardly be busy for you, my lady," he replied, and I stepped in closer, kissed him, and slowly pathed my lips for him. We heard a throat clearing and I stepped away from him; Alpha Gideon's countenance indicated he wasn't pleased with the sudden interruption. “Alpha!” Gamma Thomas smil

Andrea's POV It had been days since my encounter with gamma Thomas and I hadn't heard anything from him; I was afraid he wouldn't fall for my tricks and end up telling alpha Gideon, which would eventually ruin all of my plans; my heart was racing, and I decided to check on alpha Gideon, who hadn't checked on me either for the past few days. I arrived at his chamber and tapped on the door. I heard his feeble voice and pushed the door open, entering the room. He was sitting on the bed with a file in his hand, which he dropped beside him and raised his head to see me. He had a slight smile on his face as his eyes wandered around me; he didn't look as happy as he usually does when he sees me, and I became concerned; what if he's just sleepy or doesn't want to see me? I swiftly zipped down my gown, took it off, and came closer to him,"What are you doing?" He inquired, his brow furrowed at me. "You haven't asked of me in a few days, and I had missed you so much, I couldn't breathe

Lucas’s POV Andrea is certainly hiding something from me, and I can't figure out what it is. I groaned, rubbing my palm all over my head, exhausted; I need to figure out how to go about it, and I can't stay here feeling useless. I walked out of my room with the intention of walking around the pack to get some fresh air, but my steps came to a halt when I noticed Alpha Gideon standing nearby; I want to be on his good side so that he doesn't suspect my motives, and I had been giving him the cold shoulder before learning about Andrea's plan. I was walking closer to him to exchange greetings when I saw he was exchanging hushed tones with someone, I peered to look at the person, and it was one of the servants, and they seemed as if they didn't want to be found. I became skeptical because I knew alpha Gideon couldn't be too good to be true; he wouldn't be able to manage such a large pack with so many armies if he was a fool who could easily fall for any woman; he might know who we are a

Lucas’s POV My legs failed me as I raced out of the room, barely managing to lock the door and walk briskly to my room, perhaps certain secrets are not meant to be revealed and this has shown alpha Gideon is not what he appears to be. "Please, please save me!"Her voice rang in my thoughts as I walked back to my chamber, wondering who the lady could have been. She was neither dead nor living, and she appeared to desire to be saved, no! She must be rescued. How can Alpha Gideon be so cruel as to imprison someone who is half-dead? What had happened to her? Her eyes seemed lifeless, her hands feeble, and she could hardly stand on her own. How did she get to that point, and why is Alpha Gideon isolating her from the rest of the world when he could simply kill her and rescue her from the pain she is subjected to, countless thoughts raced through my mind at once, and I felt...hopeless. The scene was terrifying, and I was suddenly afraid for Andrea, despite everything she was doing.

  • The Lycan King's Runaway Bride    Chapter 103: My Primary Concern

Athena’s POV I didn't understand why I lied to Alpha Daniel, I could have told him that nothing occurred between us and that we barely kissed a few times, that we couldn't be intimate because of the kids, and that we were just waiting for the proper time to get to that point before everything got wrecked. Maybe I lied because I really wanted to embrace alpha Andrew, but I never did; I never experienced what it was like to be loved and make love; I never made love; I just had sex as a breeder and nothing else. It hurts my heart, and I sometimes wish I could be in the embrace of love, but I've learned to accept my fate; I wasn't built for love. Love is not for me, and every time I go through a trial, I end up hurting myself. I should just focus on my son, and that should be my primary concern. Who knows when Andrea and Lucas will decide to make another appearance? I yawned and rose from my bed, checking on Evan, who was blissfully asleep; I had been so fearful of anything happen

Athena’s POV It’s been a month since the death of Andrea and Lucas, and it still felt unreal, this past month has been the happiest I have been in my life. I have never felt so at peace, sleeping with no course to worry about. I looked at my wedding dress, and it was breathtaking, I ran my hand through it and it was a masterpiece, with delicate lace and silk, adorned with shimmering beads and sequins. I smiled as I took it from the hanger and wore it. Slowly slipping into the wedding dress, I felt an indescribable sensation. Every delicate stitch seemed to weave love and happiness into the fabric. As I stood before the mirror, I gasped in awe at the vision it reflected. My eyes shimmered with tears of overwhelming joy as I finally realized my dream of being a bride. I stepped out of the room when I was pleased with the way I looked and met beta Carl outside, he had promised to walk me down the aisle and I have never felt so glad. Beta Carl stretched his hand and I slowly placed m

Athena’s POVI watched as Lucas gulped for air while struggling to stay alive, he died and Andrea screamed and ran over to his dead body. She tried to carry him, but she had no power as she cried profusely. “Lucas! Lucas wake up!” she screamed and the kind part of me felt bad while watching her cry, but I suddenly remembered how she laughed devilishly as they killed Emily, every ounce of pity I felt for her left immediately and I scowled. “Are you ready to give up now or not?” Alpha Daniel asked a land, and Andrea shot him an angry look.“I would rather avenge my brother! Avenge my mother who died pitifully in the wilderness, avenge my father who was killed and reaped his title!” Andrea screamed and she stood up, trying to attack Alpha Daniel. I move closer to her and yank her hair, pulling her down, “don’t you think it’s time for you to give up? It’s time you stop everything you are doing and reflect on yourself?” I said, and she elongated her claws, trying to tear my face like I

Athena’s POV I was about to lunge at Andrea after snarling when I heard a screeching yell that caused me to tilt my head immediately. I discovered it was Donald who produced that sound, and I attempted to control my heavy breathing as I stared at him. Elder Ryker was able to escape Alpha Daniel's strike when I noticed him, and his eyes widened in amazement as he saw his son, his body went pale quickly, and I smirked, it seemed what Donald said was true. He must have assumed his son was dead. "You…you are alive?"Elder Ryker pushed himself to say, and his son frowned at him. “You must have thought I got burnt in that car, I escaped and here I am, it’s nice to see you again Father!” Donald said as I stepped closer to them after he mentioned the crest. “What’s going on here?!” a man who I didn’t recognize asked but looking at his attire he seemed to be the chief commander of their pack. “My father, Elder Ryker is responsible for killing the old alpha, Luna Evelyn’s father, for h

Daniel's POV The night was quiet, and I sighed as I looked up at the sky; I had been outside for a while now, trying to clear my mind of the many things that were racing through it. This week, Beta Carl has been quite active and helpful in attempting to get everything in order. I wandered farther into the garden, admiring the gorgeous flowers and attempting to forget about everything going on around me. I sighed and decided it was time to return inside and meet Athena; I've grown so attached to her that I can only sleep better in her arms. I was headed towards the pack building when I heard a bomb detonate. The ground trembled, and I staggered; I tilted my head to see what was going on; I strained my ear and heard the cry of war approaching. My eyes opened in surprise; I hadn't anticipated being attacked. "There is a war approaching, everyone should get ready for a battle," I yelled to the pack members over the mind link as I dashed toward the pack house. I ran up the stai

Andrea’s POV When I saw the crest in Athena's hand, the blood on my face drained and I turned pale. The same crest that Alpha Gideon and I have worked so hard to obtain is now sitting on Athena's hand. I always assumed the crest was something tangible, not realizing that was not the case. When alpha Daniel and Athena exited the courtroom, I tried to rise but my body felt weak as I reflected on everything I had gone through to reach where I am now. I finally pulled myself up and began walking to my room; I can't let Athena and Alpha Daniel gain control of the army; I've sacrificed so much for this, and I'm not going to let it go easily. I slumped on my bed and I entered my room. * I couldn't sleep all night because I was tossing and turning in my bed, and the only time I tried to sleep, I had a terrifying dream about Athena killing me. At the first roasting crow, I got out of bed and decided to take a bath. I finished bathing and dressed in all black because I was still grie

Daniel’s POV Fear gripped me right away. I couldn't trust anyone, let alone a stranger when Athena spoke to me over the pack's mind link. As a result, I was instantly bothered. "What's the matter with you? You went quiet?" Alpha Andrew inquired, and I sighed. "Athena just spoke to me through the mind link; she said a man approached her and asked to speak to her and me," I replied, and they both narrowed their eyes. "Who is that man?"Alpha Andrew inquired. "She doesn't know him," I said. “I think it’s best if we go over and meet her immediately, we can’t be too sure of anything, you know” Beta Carl stated "He is right, we should go meet her right away," Alpha Andrew stated as we all stood up. We walked out of the house and encountered Athena, who was standing beside her with a man whose face I had never seen before. I was taken aback when he referenced the war and claimed to be Elder Ryker's son. I moved in closer to him. "Do you know the gravity of punishment you will re

Athena’s POV The car stopped in front of the pack building, and we both got out. We went inside, and I noticed Alpha Andrew and Edna, who seemed anxious when they saw us, and they approached us. "How did it go?"Alpha Andrew inquired hurriedly. “Exactly like I had thought, Andrea and an elder were blatantly refusing what I had said, but the rest wanted to comply” Alpha Daniel answered. "That elder must be gaining something from whatever is going on," Alpha Andrew responded. “Of course, it’s obvious but it’s not a problem to me, I am going to put them in their places like I have always done” Alpha Daniel answered. "I believe you, you should rest because you appear tired and Athena too,” Alpha Andrew said, and I nodded at what he said. “Yes, we will do that” Alpha Daniel replied, and we walked away from them. I went back to my room and sighed lying on the bed, I heard a knock on the door before the door was pushed open, Miriam came in with Evan, and my face broke into a smi

Daniel’s POV “The crest?” Elder Ryker asked and I smirked. He must have thought he was smart, but he wasn’t smart enough. Murmurs erupted in the hall as people were busy saying different things, no one had seen the crest for long, and it would be surprising if they saw it. “As I had said, Evelyn talked to us regarding everything that had happened in the pack, she told us Alpha Gideon wasn’t her real mate, he bewitched her to believe he was, just to get the alpha title when he finally succeeded, he killed her father and poisoned her every day after locking her up and lied to the world she was dead, he poisoned her and tortured her just to have his hands on the crest because that was the only way he would have full control over the pack’s army,” I said and the murmurs increased. My gaze was drawn to Andrea and Lucas, who were shivering. They appeared afraid, and I chuckled; I would give anything to see them look that way every day. "How sure are we that you're telling the truth? Sho

Athena’s POV I sighed as I looked out my window. I wasn't mentally prepared for the journey ahead of us; Alpha Daniel had sent a letter to Andrea, alerting her of our presence in the pack. The door swung open, and I turned to see Alpha Daniel enter the room. When he saw me, his face burst into a smile, and I swallowed when I noticed the black shirt he was wearing; Alpha Daniel looks nice in anything, but he always looks hot in this specific shirt. "Are you trying to seduce me?"I inquired, and he chuckled as he moved closer to me, wrapping his hands around my waist. I exhaled, resting on him. “I don’t mind seducing you over and over again if that makes you give me another child” Alpha Daniel replied and I chuckled. “You talk about babies too much, don’t you think?” I raise my brows at him. “I want a baby from you Athena, I want to see every stage of pregnancy in you” he murmured and slowly kissed my ear, I closed my eyes and wrapped my hand around his neck.
