Athena’s POV

I was astounded by the amount of blood Evelyn was vomiting; for someone who is emaciated and hasn't had any proper nourishment for days, she had a lot of blood to cough up.

I felt pain in my hand and raised my shirt; I saw the crest she had transferred to me blazing and tears streamed down my face; I felt my lungs closing in on me and I could barely breathe. I gasped for more air before collapsing on the floor.

"Athena!"Alpha Daniel called and stepped closer to me; he held me closer to him, and I could hardly talk, "What's wrong with you? doctor! Nurse!"He yelled.

“My hand is burning…. I can hardly breathe!” I struggled to say and one of the nurses rushed over to meet me, They tried to help me up, and I suddenly screamed. I felt my soul detaching from my body and fear gripped me.

I wasn't prepared to die, and I didn't want to die. I'd do anything to stay alive. The thought of Evan and Alpha Daniel overpowered me; what would I do if I never saw them again?

Andrea’s POV I inhaled slowly and looked at myself in the large mirror in my room; the elders had summoned me for a meeting about the pregnancy; I hoped the witch did an excellent job and I wouldn't have to explain myself. Before leaving my room, I gave myself a pep talk. When I passed Lucas on my walk, he quickly moved over to me, clutching my hand. His eyes darted around, and when he was sure no one was watching us, he cleared his throat and looked at me. "What exactly is going on? I've heard rumors about you being pregnant, but I don't think now is the time to get pregnant."Lucas remarked, and I took a big breath. “Trust me, Lucas, everything is under control, I have a meeting with the council elders and I have to go now,” I said, and he gave me a skeptical look, he finally sighed and let my hand go. I went away from him and towards the courthouse, breathed deeply as I approached the courtroom, I squeezed my eyes shut and noticed my hands were slightly quivering, and event

Athena’s POV I swallowed the lump in my throat and looked down at the black dress I was wearing; my heart still ached from Evelyn's death; I knew I hadn't known her for that long, but her death saddened me as if I had known her for years. I murmured “Come in” as I heard a knock on the door. The door was pushed open, and Miriam walked inside. Her gaze flew around my body as she exhaled, her brows raised with concern. "Are you okay?" she said, and I smiled sadly; she was also dressed in black in memory of Evelyn. "No, I'm fine. Where has Evan gone?"I inquired. “He is sleeping. Alpha Daniel called for you, it’s time to lay the lady to rest” Miriam said and I nodded. “Thank you, Miriam, let him know I will be joining him soon” I replied, and she nodded before walking away. I looked in the mirror one more time, inhaled deeply, and stepped out of the room with my small purse. I stepped down the stairs and noticed Alpha Daniel and Beta Carl having a discussion; they were both dr

Gideon’s POV I lay on my bed like a dead man because I couldn't do anything for myself, There was hardly any difference from when I was in a coma and I don't know why Andrea was taking so long to give me the antidote, I know she wants to torture me and I don't know how long I can put up with this torture, I want to be back on my feet and finally have control over things around me. I heard the doorknob click and the door was pushed open, Two elders from the pack council entered, and their gaze landed on me, they seemed troubled as they approached me. They sat on the stool next to the bed and the first elder, Elder Ryker cleared his throat. “How are you feeling, alpha? We wanted to be certain you are alright” he asked and I swallowed the lump in my throat. “Good” I force myself to say, and they look at each other, nodding their head. “We have something important to discuss with you, We held a meeting the last few days and We are uncertain if the future Luna has discussed it with yo

Andrea’s POV Finally, the day arrived for the wedding ceremony. As I stood before the mirror, my heart raced with anticipation, even though I knew the ceremony wasn’t out of love. Thanks to my maids, I slipped into my wedding dress. As I looked at my reflection, a wide smile spread across my face. The gown hugged my curves in all the right places and cascaded beautifully down to the floor, creating an aura of elegance and grace. My dress was adorned with delicate lace and intricate beadwork, adding a touch of timeless charm. The veil, gently resting on my intricately arranged hair. “You look so beautiful,” one of the maids said, and I smiled at her, I have always looked beautiful in anything, and I am proud of it. I took a moment to soak it all in, appreciating how the dress made me feel. It was finally time to meet the priest, I stepped out of my room and saw Lucas who was dressed in a beautiful two-piece suit, he had a smile on his face and his eyes traveled down my body. “I

Athena’s POV “Are you ready?” I suddenly heard Alpha Daniel ask and I tilted my head to look at him, I exhaled deeply and forced a smile. “Yes,” I lied. I wasn’t ready, I didn’t know what to expect, and I was not sure how this was going to turn out to be. However I do hope everything turns out well, and I can finally end the reign of alpha Gideon and the tyranny of Andrea with Lucas. “We should go,” he said and I nodded. I stepped out of the room and I saw Miriam holding Evan, Her brows were arched with worry, and I smiled faintly, moving closer to them. I kissed Evan’s cheek and he giggled. “My little man” I murmured and stepped away from them. “You should be careful!” Miriam said, and I nodded. When we exited the pack building, I noticed some warriors waiting for us, as well as several trunks, one of which contained Evelyn's dead body. We got into the car, and the driver stepped on the gas, launching us out of the pack. I softly placed my head on the car seat, looking

Athena's POV We finally found the hall where the wedding was taking place after several minutes of searching. We stood in front of the massive door and one of our men stepped closer and smashed the door open, immediately quieting the assembly as everyone cocked their heads to stare at us. My eyes met Andrea's right away, and all the hatred and pain I thought I had buried surfaced. I remembered how she tortured me, leaving me in the cell to rot away; she never offered me an ounce of pity, and I wasn't going to show her one when I finally lay my hands on her. The look on her face said it all; I knew she didn't expect to see us because of how she clutched her white wedding gown. I raised my head and noticed Alpha Gideon, who was dressed in a suit but was in a wheelchair; I wrinkled my brows, wondering what had happened to him. Alpha Daniel introduced himself to the crowd and Andrea called him a liar, I smirked and walked forward, attempting to convince her that her end was near, an

Athena's POV I fought to free myself from the hand that was holding me so tightly but couldn't, I yelled at the top of my lungs as I was pulled from the hall, Alpha Daniel didn't notice, or he would have run after me and attempted to save me from whatever had his hands on me. As we went out of the hall, away from the pack hall, the person finally let me down. I turned with rage to stare at the obnoxious being's face, and I saw Lucas staring back at me. My anger understandingly grew. "Athena," he muttered, his gaze scouring my body. “Why did you drag me out of there? Are you okay?!” I yelled at him, I wasn’t here for any formalities with him. “I have missed you so much, I didn’t realize how much I missed you until I saw you again in the hall,” Lucas said, and my gaze traveled all over him, I wanted to be sure if he was alright, or if he had finally lost it. “I don’t care about all that, Lucas, You should save those words for someone who cares enough to see you again. Andrea’s POV I was so relieved that everything had worked out in my favor, I felt my soul leave my body as alpha Daniel walked into the hall. I believed it was finally over, and the elders would hand me over to them, but things went out so flawlessly that they opted to stay with me even if their old Luna corpse was brought before them. I was flitting around the room, I couldn't sleep at night, Athena's eyes haunting me, and I couldn't believe I had to see her that way. I saw the hatred in her eyes and noticed how different she looked; she appeared more sassy than before, and she no longer resembled the nimble and easily breakable girl I had known before. I had a dream about her eyes peering deeply into my soul, and each time I awoke with a headache, and when I returned to bed, I experienced the same dream. I choked down the lumps in my throat and exhaled slowly as I stepped out of my room; I needed to eat, or I would become weaker; No one knows when they would attack again, and

Athena’s POV It’s been a month since the death of Andrea and Lucas, and it still felt unreal, this past month has been the happiest I have been in my life. I have never felt so at peace, sleeping with no course to worry about. I looked at my wedding dress, and it was breathtaking, I ran my hand through it and it was a masterpiece, with delicate lace and silk, adorned with shimmering beads and sequins. I smiled as I took it from the hanger and wore it. Slowly slipping into the wedding dress, I felt an indescribable sensation. Every delicate stitch seemed to weave love and happiness into the fabric. As I stood before the mirror, I gasped in awe at the vision it reflected. My eyes shimmered with tears of overwhelming joy as I finally realized my dream of being a bride. I stepped out of the room when I was pleased with the way I looked and met beta Carl outside, he had promised to walk me down the aisle and I have never felt so glad. She tried to carry him, but she had no power as she cried profusely. “Lucas! Lucas wake up!” she screamed and the kind part of me felt bad while watching her cry, but I suddenly remembered how she laughed devilishly as they killed Emily, every ounce of pity I felt for her left immediately and I scowled. “Are you ready to give up now or not?” Alpha Daniel asked a land, and Andrea shot him an angry look.“I would rather avenge my brother! Avenge my mother who died pitifully in the wilderness, avenge my father who was killed and reaped his title!” Andrea screamed and she stood up, trying to attack Alpha Daniel. I move closer to her and yank her hair, pulling her down, “don’t you think it’s time for you to give up? It’s time you stop everything you are doing and reflect on yourself?” I said, and she elongated her claws, trying to tear my face like I

Athena’s POV I was about to lunge at Andrea after snarling when I heard a screeching yell that caused me to tilt my head immediately. I discovered it was Donald who produced that sound, and I attempted to control my heavy breathing as I stared at him. Elder Ryker was able to escape Alpha Daniel's strike when I noticed him, and his eyes widened in amazement as he saw his son, his body went pale quickly, and I smirked, it seemed what Donald said was true. He must have assumed his son was dead. "You…you are alive?"Elder Ryker pushed himself to say, and his son frowned at him. “You must have thought I got burnt in that car, I escaped and here I am, it’s nice to see you again Father!” Donald said as I stepped closer to them after he mentioned the crest. “What’s going on here?!” a man who I didn’t recognize asked but looking at his attire he seemed to be the chief commander of their pack. “My father, Elder Ryker is responsible for killing the old alpha, Luna Evelyn’s father, for h

Daniel's POV The night was quiet, and I sighed as I looked up at the sky; I had been outside for a while now, trying to clear my mind of the many things that were racing through it. This week, Beta Carl has been quite active and helpful in attempting to get everything in order. I wandered farther into the garden, admiring the gorgeous flowers and attempting to forget about everything going on around me. I sighed and decided it was time to return inside and meet Athena; I've grown so attached to her that I can only sleep better in her arms. I was headed towards the pack building when I heard a bomb detonate. The ground trembled, and I staggered; I tilted my head to see what was going on; I strained my ear and heard the cry of war approaching. My eyes opened in surprise; I hadn't anticipated being attacked. "There is a war approaching, everyone should get ready for a battle," I yelled to the pack members over the mind link as I dashed toward the pack house. I ran up the stai

Andrea’s POV When I saw the crest in Athena's hand, the blood on my face drained and I turned pale. The same crest that Alpha Gideon and I have worked so hard to obtain is now sitting on Athena's hand. I always assumed the crest was something tangible, not realizing that was not the case. When alpha Daniel and Athena exited the courtroom, I tried to rise but my body felt weak as I reflected on everything I had gone through to reach where I am now. I finally pulled myself up and began walking to my room; I can't let Athena and Alpha Daniel gain control of the army; I've sacrificed so much for this, and I'm not going to let it go easily. I slumped on my bed and I entered my room. * I couldn't sleep all night because I was tossing and turning in my bed, and the only time I tried to sleep, I had a terrifying dream about Athena killing me. At the first roasting crow, I got out of bed and decided to take a bath. I finished bathing and dressed in all black because I was still grie

Daniel’s POV Fear gripped me right away. I couldn't trust anyone, let alone a stranger when Athena spoke to me over the pack's mind link. As a result, I was instantly bothered. "What's the matter with you? You went quiet?" Alpha Andrew inquired, and I sighed. "Athena just spoke to me through the mind link; she said a man approached her and asked to speak to her and me," I replied, and they both narrowed their eyes. "Who is that man?"Alpha Andrew inquired. "She doesn't know him," I said. “I think it’s best if we go over and meet her immediately, we can’t be too sure of anything, you know” Beta Carl stated "He is right, we should go meet her right away," Alpha Andrew stated as we all stood up. We walked out of the house and encountered Athena, who was standing beside her with a man whose face I had never seen before. I was taken aback when he referenced the war and claimed to be Elder Ryker's son. I moved in closer to him. "Do you know the gravity of punishment you will re

"How did it go?"Alpha Andrew inquired hurriedly. “Exactly like I had thought, Andrea and an elder were blatantly refusing what I had said, but the rest wanted to comply” Alpha Daniel answered. "That elder must be gaining something from whatever is going on," Alpha Andrew responded. “Of course, it’s obvious but it’s not a problem to me, I am going to put them in their places like I have always done” Alpha Daniel answered. "I believe you, you should rest because you appear tired and Athena too,” Alpha Andrew said, and I nodded at what he said. “Yes, we will do that” Alpha Daniel replied, and we walked away from them. Daniel’s POV “The crest?” Elder Ryker asked and I smirked. He must have thought he was smart, but he wasn’t smart enough. Murmurs erupted in the hall as people were busy saying different things, no one had seen the crest for long, and it would be surprising if they saw it. “As I had said, Evelyn talked to us regarding everything that had happened in the pack, she told us Alpha Gideon wasn’t her real mate, he bewitched her to believe he was, just to get the alpha title when he finally succeeded, he killed her father and poisoned her every day after locking her up and lied to the world she was dead, he poisoned her and tortured her just to have his hands on the crest because that was the only way he would have full control over the pack’s army,” I said and the murmurs increased. My gaze was drawn to Andrea and Lucas, who were shivering. They appeared afraid, and I chuckled; I would give anything to see them look that way every day. Athena’s POV I sighed as I looked out my window. I wasn't mentally prepared for the journey ahead of us; Alpha Daniel had sent a letter to Andrea, alerting her of our presence in the pack. The door swung open, and I turned to see Alpha Daniel enter the room. When he saw me, his face burst into a smile, and I swallowed when I noticed the black shirt he was wearing; Alpha Daniel looks nice in anything, but he always looks hot in this specific shirt. "Are you trying to seduce me?"I inquired, and he chuckled as he moved closer to me, wrapping his hands around my waist. I exhaled, resting on him. “I don’t mind seducing you over and over again if that makes you give me another child” Alpha Daniel replied and I chuckled. “You talk about babies too much, don’t you think?” I raise my brows at him. “I want a baby from you Athena, I want to see every stage of pregnancy in you” he murmured and slowly kissed my ear, I closed my eyes and wrapped my hand around his neck.
