Athena’s POV

I let out a breath I hadn't realized I was holding when alpha Daniel locked the door behind him.

How can he look so insanely handsome this morning?

At this rate, I might get pregnant before the war starts. I had done my hardest to avoid him the day before, but something overwhelmed me and I let him sleep with me. Though I don't regret it, I have never felt more relaxed in recent years, and when I looked in the mirror, I felt like I was glowing; I adore the way I look and wouldn't trade it for anything else.

I hurriedly went to the toilet and took a quick shower, wondering what alpha Daniel wanted to speak with me and what he had asked for breakfast; the possibility of it being about Andrea crossed my mind, but I shook my head quickly to clear my mind.

I went back to my room and dressed up; I looked in the mirror and liked how I looked. I stepped out of the chamber and down the stairs to the dining hall, where I found Alpha Daniel sitting and a variety of delicaci

Lucas’s POV It's been a few days since I started giving Evelyn the antidote, and she's gotten surprisingly better; I hope Mary and Alpha Gideon don't find out about her body's recovery; though the doctor didn't promise her safe recovery, all I want is for her to recover sufficiently to allow me to get what I want from her. "How are you feeling right now?"I inquired, and she slowly raised her head to look at me; at least she can raise her head better now than she could before. "Thank you, the pain has subsided," she answered, and I nodded. "I heard your name is Evelyn, everyone thought you were dead because your mate locked you up here," I said and she furrowed her brows. “He… he is not my mate!” she forced out, and I narrowed my eyes at her, I thought he was her mate, what happened. “Alpha Gideon is not your mate?” I asked shocked, and she nodded while tears streamed down her face. “He deceived me, he deceived my father,” she said, and I was perplexed, just when I though

Andrea’s POV I wrapped my robe around my body and waited for Gamma Philip, I asked him to come over, and it appeared that he was taking too long to arrive. I sighed and walked over to the window, looking down at the people going about their business. I went to open the door when I heard a knock. Gamma Philip walked in and I instantly shut the door. His eyes swept across my figure and I smirked as I removed my robe. I stood naked in front of him, and he quickly diverted his sight from me; I wrinkled my brows and moved closer to him, touching his face, "what's wrong with you?"I inquired, and he sighed. “I had a tiring day, I had to force myself here” he replied and I smirked “I can help you relax, you know,” I said seductively, my hands tracing his chest, but he gently pulled away from me “That’s not what I need right now, I want to…” I cut his words short with a kiss... He was so close to the edge of my lips that he could have easily slipped in and tasted me. I pressed my l

Athena's POV I sighed as I looked in the mirror at myself, twirling about to look at the sundress I was wearing, Alpha Daniel had requested we go on one of our dates today, and as much as excited as I am, I am also terrified. I took the invitation card Alpha Daniel had taken his time to set up for me and I chuckled, "A date amidst nature's splendor" I read the title of the card before opening it. "My dear Athena, I wish to invite you out on a date with me, I hope you won't reject my request, all love from your mate alpha Daniel" I read and chuckled quietly. I suddenly heard a knock on the door, I left the invitation card on my dressing table and walked to the door, where I saw Miriam with Evan. I smiled and took Evan from her, who simply wanted to pull the hair I had worked so hard to make. "Please look after Evan for me; I won't be in the pack house tonight," I informed Miriam, who nodded gently. "I hope you have a wonderful time," she whispered, and my lips twitched. "I

Athena’s POV I look around the breathtaking clearing. Towering redwood trees framed a magnificent vista, where the setting sun painted the sky with hues of orange, pink, and gold. I gasped, momentarily unable to find words to express my awe. “Do you like it?” he asked and I cried “I love it so much Alpha Daniel, this is so beautiful,” I said taking in the scene before me, He held my hand, and we move forward, settling on a comfortable blanket, alpha Daniel’s gaze was on me, he looked happy and filled with pride that I had loved that he took his time to do this for us. He stood up, and my eyes trailed his figure, he came back with a wicker basket filled with gourmet delights, surprising me with my favorite treats, I never knew he had paid attention to those little details. There was a candle lit on the blanket, and they were beautiful, the wind was busy blowing the fire, but it didn’t go off. We both took our plates, fetching enough food that we can eat. “I had thought about d

Andrew's POV It was a beautiful late afternoon, and the environment was filled with warmth and tranquility. As the day began to wane, the golden rays of the setting sun paint the sky in different colors. The light passes through the leaves of the trees, producing long, dappled shadows on the ground below. The air is motionless, with only a gentle wind passing through, providing a calm environment. The temperature has dropped slightly from earlier in the day, bringing some relief from the heat. The sunshine is gentle and diffused, lending an ethereal tint to everything. I sigh, looking at the birds chirping cheerfully, filling the air with their melodies. I love the peace I was getting just from walking through nature. I suddenly heard a clearing of a throat and I tilted my head to look at Beta Royce. "Alpha Andrew," he called, and I grinned. "I searched everywhere but couldn't find you," he added, and I nodded. "Yes, I was outside because I wanted to go for a walk. Is there anyth

Lucas’s POV The days have become so stretched and boring that I have night and day fantasies about having my hands on that crest, about what it looks like, and how wonderful it will be if I can finally take sole control of the pack. I rose from my bed and exhaled a sigh of relief before taking the antidote and walking out of the room. I've waited and analyzed the times when Mary and Alpha Gideon visit Evelyn. Mary sees her three times a day at the same time each day, and Alpha Gideon visits occasionally but not frequently, so I had ample time to go there, and I was startled, Mary hadn't discovered one of her several keys was missing. I had the impression that I was being watched. No one had seen me enter that room, and I wondered if I was that clever or perhaps alpha Gideon was up to his old tricks on me. But I didn't let it upset me because I wanted to make sure that before he caught on to what I was doing, I had my hands on the crest. So I strolled down the halls until I a

Daniel’s POV The night in the tent was filled with love, Athena and I gazed through the sky all night and the crescent moon shone brightly at us, we barely slept due to the cold, but it didn't matter, what we had at that moment was what mattered most, I wouldn't trade anything in the world for this, Athena is the best thing that has ever happened to me. The day was here again, and I was the first to wake up. I softly touched Athena, and she slowly opened her eyes, squinting slightly before groggily standing up from the floor. We emerged from the tent, and she took a look around. We went out of the garden hand in hand when her stomach suddenly rumbled, "Don't tell me, you are already hungry?" I questioned, and she chuckled, covering her face up. "This is so embarrassing, I can't believe it!" she exclaimed, and we both laughed. I had told several of the maids that we would clean up the garden after we left, so it wasn't a big deal. We got to a clear path where the limousine was

Lucas's POV My heart was filled with hate, and nothing seemed interesting anymore; I couldn't believe Evelyn for denying me the one thing I needed from her, so I fisted my hand violently, my slightly lengthened claws cutting into my palms and drawing blood. Maybe she deserved what happened to her because even in her sickbed, she was stubborn and unwilling to give up. Who knows, perhaps the crest isn't really needed to control the warriors, and what if the crest doesn't exist? She wouldn't subject herself to so much pain and torture if it didn't exist, right? I grumble, rubbing my hand around my head, as my thoughts are jumbled; I don't know what to do, and I can't seek advice from anybody; I can't even tell Andrea, who is busy messing around with alpha Gideon. I walked out of my room with the goal of walking about the pack and possibly calming my anxiety. I wandered around the halls and down the steps.I let out a sigh of relief as I stepped out of the pack house and took a deep b

Athena’s POV It’s been a month since the death of Andrea and Lucas, and it still felt unreal, this past month has been the happiest I have been in my life. I have never felt so at peace, sleeping with no course to worry about. I looked at my wedding dress, and it was breathtaking, I ran my hand through it and it was a masterpiece, with delicate lace and silk, adorned with shimmering beads and sequins. I smiled as I took it from the hanger and wore it. Slowly slipping into the wedding dress, I felt an indescribable sensation. Every delicate stitch seemed to weave love and happiness into the fabric. As I stood before the mirror, I gasped in awe at the vision it reflected. My eyes shimmered with tears of overwhelming joy as I finally realized my dream of being a bride. I stepped out of the room when I was pleased with the way I looked and met beta Carl outside, he had promised to walk me down the aisle and I have never felt so glad. Beta Carl stretched his hand and I slowly placed m

Athena’s POVI watched as Lucas gulped for air while struggling to stay alive, he died and Andrea screamed and ran over to his dead body. She tried to carry him, but she had no power as she cried profusely. “Lucas! Lucas wake up!” she screamed and the kind part of me felt bad while watching her cry, but I suddenly remembered how she laughed devilishly as they killed Emily, every ounce of pity I felt for her left immediately and I scowled. “Are you ready to give up now or not?” Alpha Daniel asked a land, and Andrea shot him an angry look.“I would rather avenge my brother! Avenge my mother who died pitifully in the wilderness, avenge my father who was killed and reaped his title!” Andrea screamed and she stood up, trying to attack Alpha Daniel. I move closer to her and yank her hair, pulling her down, “don’t you think it’s time for you to give up? It’s time you stop everything you are doing and reflect on yourself?” I said, and she elongated her claws, trying to tear my face like I

Athena’s POV I was about to lunge at Andrea after snarling when I heard a screeching yell that caused me to tilt my head immediately. I discovered it was Donald who produced that sound, and I attempted to control my heavy breathing as I stared at him. Elder Ryker was able to escape Alpha Daniel's strike when I noticed him, and his eyes widened in amazement as he saw his son, his body went pale quickly, and I smirked, it seemed what Donald said was true. He must have assumed his son was dead. "You…you are alive?"Elder Ryker pushed himself to say, and his son frowned at him. “You must have thought I got burnt in that car, I escaped and here I am, it’s nice to see you again Father!” Donald said as I stepped closer to them after he mentioned the crest. “What’s going on here?!” a man who I didn’t recognize asked but looking at his attire he seemed to be the chief commander of their pack. “My father, Elder Ryker is responsible for killing the old alpha, Luna Evelyn’s father, for h

Daniel's POV The night was quiet, and I sighed as I looked up at the sky; I had been outside for a while now, trying to clear my mind of the many things that were racing through it. This week, Beta Carl has been quite active and helpful in attempting to get everything in order. I wandered farther into the garden, admiring the gorgeous flowers and attempting to forget about everything going on around me. I sighed and decided it was time to return inside and meet Athena; I've grown so attached to her that I can only sleep better in her arms. I was headed towards the pack building when I heard a bomb detonate. The ground trembled, and I staggered; I tilted my head to see what was going on; I strained my ear and heard the cry of war approaching. My eyes opened in surprise; I hadn't anticipated being attacked. "There is a war approaching, everyone should get ready for a battle," I yelled to the pack members over the mind link as I dashed toward the pack house. I ran up the stai

Andrea’s POV When I saw the crest in Athena's hand, the blood on my face drained and I turned pale. The same crest that Alpha Gideon and I have worked so hard to obtain is now sitting on Athena's hand. I always assumed the crest was something tangible, not realizing that was not the case. When alpha Daniel and Athena exited the courtroom, I tried to rise but my body felt weak as I reflected on everything I had gone through to reach where I am now. I finally pulled myself up and began walking to my room; I can't let Athena and Alpha Daniel gain control of the army; I've sacrificed so much for this, and I'm not going to let it go easily. I slumped on my bed and I entered my room. * I couldn't sleep all night because I was tossing and turning in my bed, and the only time I tried to sleep, I had a terrifying dream about Athena killing me. At the first roasting crow, I got out of bed and decided to take a bath. I finished bathing and dressed in all black because I was still grie

Daniel’s POV Fear gripped me right away. I couldn't trust anyone, let alone a stranger when Athena spoke to me over the pack's mind link. As a result, I was instantly bothered. "What's the matter with you? You went quiet?" Alpha Andrew inquired, and I sighed. "Athena just spoke to me through the mind link; she said a man approached her and asked to speak to her and me," I replied, and they both narrowed their eyes. "Who is that man?"Alpha Andrew inquired. "She doesn't know him," I said. “I think it’s best if we go over and meet her immediately, we can’t be too sure of anything, you know” Beta Carl stated "He is right, we should go meet her right away," Alpha Andrew stated as we all stood up. We walked out of the house and encountered Athena, who was standing beside her with a man whose face I had never seen before. I was taken aback when he referenced the war and claimed to be Elder Ryker's son. I moved in closer to him. "Do you know the gravity of punishment you will re

Athena’s POV The car stopped in front of the pack building, and we both got out. We went inside, and I noticed Alpha Andrew and Edna, who seemed anxious when they saw us, and they approached us. "How did it go?"Alpha Andrew inquired hurriedly. “Exactly like I had thought, Andrea and an elder were blatantly refusing what I had said, but the rest wanted to comply” Alpha Daniel answered. "That elder must be gaining something from whatever is going on," Alpha Andrew responded. “Of course, it’s obvious but it’s not a problem to me, I am going to put them in their places like I have always done” Alpha Daniel answered. "I believe you, you should rest because you appear tired and Athena too,” Alpha Andrew said, and I nodded at what he said. “Yes, we will do that” Alpha Daniel replied, and we walked away from them. I went back to my room and sighed lying on the bed, I heard a knock on the door before the door was pushed open, Miriam came in with Evan, and my face broke into a smi

Daniel’s POV “The crest?” Elder Ryker asked and I smirked. He must have thought he was smart, but he wasn’t smart enough. Murmurs erupted in the hall as people were busy saying different things, no one had seen the crest for long, and it would be surprising if they saw it. “As I had said, Evelyn talked to us regarding everything that had happened in the pack, she told us Alpha Gideon wasn’t her real mate, he bewitched her to believe he was, just to get the alpha title when he finally succeeded, he killed her father and poisoned her every day after locking her up and lied to the world she was dead, he poisoned her and tortured her just to have his hands on the crest because that was the only way he would have full control over the pack’s army,” I said and the murmurs increased. My gaze was drawn to Andrea and Lucas, who were shivering. They appeared afraid, and I chuckled; I would give anything to see them look that way every day. "How sure are we that you're telling the truth? Sho

Athena’s POV I sighed as I looked out my window. I wasn't mentally prepared for the journey ahead of us; Alpha Daniel had sent a letter to Andrea, alerting her of our presence in the pack. The door swung open, and I turned to see Alpha Daniel enter the room. When he saw me, his face burst into a smile, and I swallowed when I noticed the black shirt he was wearing; Alpha Daniel looks nice in anything, but he always looks hot in this specific shirt. "Are you trying to seduce me?"I inquired, and he chuckled as he moved closer to me, wrapping his hands around my waist. I exhaled, resting on him. “I don’t mind seducing you over and over again if that makes you give me another child” Alpha Daniel replied and I chuckled. “You talk about babies too much, don’t you think?” I raise my brows at him. “I want a baby from you Athena, I want to see every stage of pregnancy in you” he murmured and slowly kissed my ear, I closed my eyes and wrapped my hand around his neck.
