KEENA

The scent of peppermint soothes me as I wake up, but I stretch my arms to the side and Ward isn't there. I am hugging his pillow and I know that he put it between my arms so I wouldn't know that he is missing. I let out a little huff of frustration as I get to my feet. I was hoping to spend some much needed alone time with him this morning. Looking down at myself I see that I am still in the light blue robes from the coven. I was so tired that I must have fallen asleep in them.

Stripping the robes from my body and tossing them in the trash where they belong, I quickly put on my favorite pair of sweats and go looking for my mate. As I leave my bedroom, the smell of peppermint leads me straight to my father's office.
