Chapter 7

“Is there something I shouldn't know?” He asked again.

I swallowed again.

“It was just something little, but he considered it big, By the way, where am I? “ I asked, trying hopefully to change the topic.

“This is your quarters, it's where you'll stay from now on”

“Where I'll…" I said in amazement, but I couldn't finish it as I turned around to survey my surroundings. 

It was simply beautiful, it suited my taste perfectly, and I began to feel grateful again, he saved my life and gave me a place where I'd feel a sense of security. 

“Do you like it?” He asked and I nodded.

“Thank you so much”

“You don't need to thank me, it's what I have to do. Would you like to go hunting? And do you know how to use a bow and an arrow? He asked with a smile.

“Uhm, nope. But, you can teach me,” I gave a bright smile.

We walked through the forest not saying much, but there was a lot I wanted to say.

I wanted to know about him too, I wanted to know if he had a mate before or if he had been lonely ever since, but I just couldn't find a way to bring such a conversation up.

The leaves made little noises as we stepped on them and I appreciated the green beauty of the forest, the little sounds the little creatures made, and the water on the leaves.

He suddenly held my hand and I stopped, then I began to hear, not too far away, there was an animal…

I looked at him, he was still listening then he began to walk, slowly and stealthily and I followed, trying my best to walk as silently as he did.

After walking for a while, we saw the animal, it was a huge and beautiful deer.

He came behind me and held the bow in front of me.

I immediately felt warm.

Then he fixed the arrow into the bow slowly, so I'd watch.

Then he removed it and gave it to me to fix.

I looked at him again, and he nodded, and I fixed it the way he did.

Then set my aim at the deer and stretched my arrow as far as it could go but I was shocked as he placed his hands on mine, he lifted my chin, and told me to stand straight.

Then he redirected my aim.

“When you need a swift kill, without claws or fangs, remember to aim for the neck,” he said and the feeling I felt at that moment was refreshing, I had never felt that feeling of being free in such a long time.

“When you're sure you've got it all right, don't hesitate to let the arrow loose, any wasted minute could turn everything over,” he said, and I nodded, and I let the arrow fly and watched as it sailed quickly to its target, as it went, it lodged itself in the neck of the deer and pierced it, dark blood immediately began to pour as the deer's legs went down.

We went to it and I knelt by it.

It was still warm.

Andre knelt by me and touched its belly.

“It's pregnant”

I looked at him, and he looked back at me, and for a while, I didn't understand why I felt scared.

Perhaps it was the word' Pregnant '.

I immediately looked back at the deer.

Then I felt bad.

I had just killed a mother like me.

I put my hand on its belly and felt its breath slowing down.

“Can you hear its heart?” He asked.

“I… I hear something else… " I said as I heard light movement… The movement was so light it was barely heard but…. "Something's watching us,”  I said and suddenly a large tiger jumped out heading right for me, By some instinct, I placed my hands on my belly and closed my eyes tight, and then I heard another roar and felt a rush next to me. 

I forced myself to open my eyes and I saw Andre roaring while the Tiger circled slowly while watching him, at once, it lunged towards him and jumped and Andre caught it by the neck but went back a few steps, The tiger was twice his size, but he tackled it with incredible strength that could only be gotten from an Alpha, The tiger bared its teeth, tried to release itself and slashed at Andre, Andre groaned but with supreme strength, threw the tiger away, and it went soaring a few feet away.

It immediately got up and charged for Andre, but Andre slashed its face with his claws and plunged his claws into its neck he didn't stop pushing deeper, and with anger, he slashed and slashed away at the tiger until he was covered in blood. 

Then he looked at me, I was already trembling all over.

His eyes were a flaming red, fierce but with an incredulous beauty to them, then, suddenly, the light In them faded, and he looked down at the tiger.

I went to him and touched his shoulder.

“Are you okay?” I asked and he looked up at me.

He got up. “Let's leave,” He said and stood and began to leave. 

“That was impressive,” I said with a smile and I saw his expression soften a bit.

Then he turned to look at me. 

“Were you hurt?”

I shook my head.

“You were hurt”

IIt'lll heal,” he said, then looked at my belly.

I shifted uncomfortably. 

He couldn't have noticed me covering my belly immediately after the Tiger attack. Could he?

We walked back to the Castle, and he had already healed by then.

When we got into the castle walls, he asked me to change into something else, which I did hurriedly in my quarters.

After changing, I went out searching for him, Things were so tense that we forgot all about our kill.

“Princess, please follow me,” A guard said.

I was cautious because of what had happened with the other official, but I decided to at least see where he was taking me to. 

He took me to the grand hall and as he opened the door, I was speechless.

There was a huge banquet and everyone seemed to be looking at me with smiles then I saw him standing at the very front looking at me with a smile, and he was every bit as breathtaking as the banquet itself.

Did he set a Welcoming Banquet for me?
