Rene is pregnant

Oliver felt extremely sorry for Irene as she wallowed in pain and misery. “Lady Irene, the Alpha made me keep it a secret. Believe me, I've been wanting to tell you but..”

“But what?!” Irene cut him off, “Oliver, I trusted you. Why..why did you all stab me in the back? It seems like I was the only one left in the dark. Even the maids know.” she whispered softly as tears gathered in her eyes.

Oliver sighed and tried to pull her up, but she pushed him away, “Stay away from me!” she snapped. “I don't want you near me!”

Then she got up by herself and walked towards her chamber. As soon as she lay on her soft and silky bed, she began to recall everything that had just happened today. Her mate, Alpha Kaiden had betrayed her all for power, and she was left all alone. Ever since Irene was a child, she had always been despised by the whole pack. After loosing her parents at a very tender age, everyone called her a witch who was sent to the pack to bring shame and dishonour to the whole town.

Irene's life was filled with pain, and misery as she had to grow alone in the high walls of the orphanage with no friends and family. The only thing that kept her going was the thought of having a mate when she clocks eighteen. Soon she would have someone to rely on, someone to share her burdens with and someone to love her for who she is.

As soon as she found her mate, Irene's heart was filled with joy and happiness. She clinged unto him like hope, because he was the only one who could save her from the darkness that clouded over her. However, the whole pack, including his parents and siblings disliked her to the core. The fact that she was an orphan, and an omega made her look worthless and useless, and the Luna didn't quite like that.

Kaiden had to put up with her for months, but deep down, he wasn't satisfied with the mate the moon goddess bestowed unto him. Greedy for power, he decided to pick Rene as his chosen mate and hide this news from Irene. Initially, he planned to wed Irene and not make her his Luna.

Who would have known that Rene would be pregnant a few days to their wedding? Taking responsibility as an Alpha could only be the right thing to do.

Irene had a sad smile on her face as she gazed out of the window, watching the breeze move the trees gently from side to side. Even as her heart was in despair, Irene decided not to give up on her mate. If Kaiden should reject her, then she would have nothing else to hold on to. Her entire being would be useless, and she would have no other reason to live.

With that thought in mind, Irene closed her eyes and drifted into a world of peace and no sorrow. She closed her eyes to sleep.

The next day,

Irene heard a shrill voice call her name. “Irene! Irene! What on earth are you doing?!” Kaiden's mother, the Luna yelled as she glared angrily at Irene who was still sleeping.

“Didn't you hear the news last night? Rene is pregnant! Why would you be sleeping when you have to prepare for the banquet?!” she added as she dragged Irene off the bed. Irene's eyes shot open as she stared at Kaiden's mother. “Luna Anna.” Irene gasped as she got up immediately. She bowed slightly and said, “To what do I owe this visit?”

Anna frowned slightly, her fists clenched by her sides, “Didn't you hear what I just said? Rene is pregnant and we're announcing it to the pack at a banquet! Don't tell me you don't know of the tradition?” Irene furrowed her brows in confusion and raised her head, “Mother, but Rene isn't a Luna yet. Instead, she got pregnant before getting married to the Alpha. Why then is…”

Irene's face turned to the side as Anna slapped her hard, her hands stinging from the pain. “Are you trying to call my precious Rene a whore?!” she spat. “Even if she gets pregnant before getting married, at least she's going to give us an heir. A powerful one at that.”

she paused and moved closer to Irene, “If Kaiden should get you pregnant, you'll only birth a weak and useless son, and I wouldn't want that. The pack wouldn't want that so you're practically useless in this palace. If you can't do anything right, why can't you help with preparing for the banquet?”

Irene stood at a spot and trembled slightly, her wolf howling in pain. Right from the start, Anna had always despised her. Now that she has found a way to kick her out, of course she would make use of that opportunity.

“I'm giving you ten minutes to get downstairs, if not, I'll show you a true Luna's wrath!” Anna said as she turned her back to leave. Irene fell to her knees, her grip on the bed spread tight as she cried her eyes out.

Her heart was bleeding from the ill treatment she received from the whole pack, and unlike before, her mate was no longer there to protect her. This thought made Irene cry harder till there was none left in her eyes. The only thing she felt was emptiness, and with that sullen mood she went downstairs.

As she walked down the hall, the maids glared at her with contempt as they eyed her suspiciously. “I heard the Alpha is planning to reject her. What else is she doing here?”

“Maybe she's planning to bewitch him again. I just hope the Alpha disposes her quickly.” They whispered among themselves. Irene's ears were full as she listened to the gossip among the maids. However, she refused to give them a reply. Irene was quite used to the hateful comments, so she wasn't surprised.

At the same time, she heard faint footsteps approaching her. Out of curiosity she turned her back, surprised to find Rene staring at her, “Irene? Did I have to come get you myself? Can't you see that I'm pregnant?”
