The sniffers and hunters from the empire returned to the palace the next day to report their assignments.

Turns out that there was no trace to where those Lycans might have been taken to. Also their captors found a way to hide their scent and so it was difficult to pick up the identity of whomever that might have abducted those two.

I couldn't help the lingering feeling that this operation was carried out by an insider, someone who knows his way around the empire like the back of his palm, but who?

The camera did not capture anyone before it was destroyed which can only mean that it was destroyed from behind. I didn't know whom to suspect and that made it all the harder to comprehend.
