THIRD PERSON'S POV"Say it." Arlo urged with an urgent tone, joining the duo. His hawk-like eyes were fixed on Jamal, ready to put him in his place if he acted up. "Say the fucking words!""Just who I needed to see tonight. The infamous Arlo Cardell." Jamal let out a drunken laugh, staggering backward. His frosty breath reeked of alcohol. He's never been so blunt with the Lycan King, despite how much he loathed him. But alcohol makes you lose some good manners. Like right now."Just say the damn words, nit-wit!" Arlo yelled, attempting to grab him but getting pulled back by Jordy."Or what?!" Jamal snapped, eyes glistening with tears and fury. "You going to make my life more miserable than you already did?!""I've never laid a finger on your wretched life. Whatever mess you turned into is all on you. Don't you dare pin shit on me." Arlo pointed a warning finger at him."That's enough, please." Jordy tried to soothe him, as she brought his hand down. She was right in the middle of the t
KING ARLO'S POV "Shut the fuck up!" I yelled again, hitting the brakes and coming to a screeching halt. The force sent him flying off the seat and hitting hard on the floor. He let out another painful grunt, but it was soon replaced by one of his drunk laughs. "Why? Does the truth hurt?" He slurred, groaning at the end of his words. "You stole Jordy from me. Doesn't that make you a thief?" "Just one more word." I took a deep, deep breath. "Say one more stupid word and I'll damn the consequence and hurl you into the street. I don't give a shit if you die or live." I just realized how huge a mistake it was to offer to take his drunk ass home. Ever since we drove off, he had been saying a lot of nonsense, and as much as I tried to lock him out of my head, he still gained access. He was talking about Jordy and how they were the pack's couple before I showed up and ruined everything. It was almost impossible for talks like that not to mess with my head. And the damned lunatic won't st
MESSIAH JORDY'S POVI rang the doorbell again, rubbing my arms as the morning breeze swept past me. No response, again. I checked my wristwatch, it was 6:45 am. Maybe I got here too early. I might have to go and come back later. The thought of leaving got my heart racing in uneasiness. The same uneasiness that kept me up all night, and had me tossing and squirming through the night. I was all hues distracted, and it had to do with Zach's text message last night. He'd sounded too serious over the text, leaving me in horrible suspense. I spent hours trying to figure out just what he knew and how much I had to say. It was the worst feeling, and I just wanted to get it over and done with. Whatever he had to say, I needed to hear them today. Now!I pressed the doorbell ring, stamping my feet nervously. How could they still be asleep till now? Where the heck were the Omegas? Someone had to be up, goddammit!I slammed my fists on the glass door repeatedly, hoping that would cause enough nuis
MESSIAH JORDY'S POV"I'm sorry," Zach added, after a bit of awkward silence. "I mean, it sounds ridiculous. But I got this hunch, and I can't shake it off. So yeah, tell me. Did he fall in love with you or am I just being an idiot?" He said amidst a chuckle, sitting with his legs crossed.Sweat broke through my forehead, cascading to my neck and down inside my shirt. The room was chilly. I had no reason to be sweating that much. Suddenly, I began feeling too suffocated, wanting nothing more but to rip the door open and run off. But I couldn't. I felt glued to the spot I was sitting."Jordy?" He called with an arched brow. "Are you alright?""Y–yeah. I'm good." I muttered quickly, nodding vehemently. "Why would you think Jamal fell in love with me? That's ridiculous." I forced a smile, trying not to act so damned affected."Well, for starters, he went on and on about how someone shattered his heart. I thought it was the alcohol when he kept referring to his assailant as a male. But the
MESSIAH JORDY'S POVSeeing Arlo standing there plunged me into another nervous wreck. His silver hair was sleek and falling to his face. His black tux gave him a darker aura and his pose screamed authority. I could smell the alluring scent of his aftershave and it put my insides in a frenzy. I would have opted to feel him close and run my fingers through his hair if the air between us didn't seem so tense. The sidewalk was quiet with almost no one walking on it. It was a good thing though, 'cause I wouldn't want passersby eavesdropping on our conversation.I took slow steps to meet him and he turned and started walking ahead. I followed him quietly, as we left Gamma Micah's area. We walked a few more blocks before we got to some random convenience store. He went to one of the tables and pulled out a seat for me. I sat and he sat on the opposite seat."You want anything?" He asked in a cold tone, sending chills down my spine."Nah. I'm good." I shook my head, keeping my gaze lowered.
THIRD PERSON'S POV"Let me go!" Zoey yelled maniacally, repeatedly hitting her fist on Zach's well-shredded arms. "Dammit! Would you keep it down?!" Zach hissed, grabbing her tighter, despite her relentless squirms."I'll count to three. And if you don't let me go, I'll kick your nuts." Zoey threatened through heavy breaths."You're just bluffing." Zach scoffed."Am I?" Zoey flashed him a sardonic smile and put up her fingers in a count. "3…2…1…""Fine! Jesus!" Zach hurled her onto the bed, retreating to the other end of the room, just in case she decides to go through with her threat. "I thought you said I was just bluffing. Why then did you let me go?" Zoey mocked, standing from the bed. Her fingers ran through her disheveled blonde hair. "You're a piece of shit, Zach.""Gee. Thanks a lot, Zoey. But can I ask why I'm a piece of shit? Clearly, it can't be because I held you back from chasing after Jordy, right?""What else is it about?!" Zoey snapped with a yell. "And why the fuck
KING ARLO'S POVI chased after the spy but the damned creep had such quick legs and good knowledge about the area than I did. His tricky maneuver into small routes gave me a hard time catching him. Still, I was never giving up on the chase. We ran through sidewalks and alleys and fences and buildings. He wouldn't stop running, and I sure as hell wasn't going to stop chasing. We got a lot of speculators, and he bumped into a lot of people and stuff, but he didn't seem to mind. I, on the other hand, avoided creating any mayhem as I raced after him. It got really crazy when he ran into busy traffic, causing cars to screech off lanes and almost causing an accident. That was when I realized I was after one hell of a crack. I was getting rather too damned pissed having to chase him around the pack. When we got to another alley, and he was heading to hop over another gate, I did what I had to do. My powers were strictly for my pack affairs and Important matters. But what could be more imp
THIRD PERSON'S POVJamal let out a struggling breath as Arlo's hand tightened around his neck. He tried taking his hand off, but Arlo's grip was made out of steel. Impossible to get it off his neck."What the hell are you doing? Put my son down right now!" Luther yelled. His eyes flickered from how unnerved the situation was making him feel."I will, right after I've choked the last breath out of his body!" Arlo threatened, tightening his grip. He wasn't exactly sure if he could really carry out his threat of killing Jamal. Despite how much he hated Luther and everything related to him, he had to remember that Jordy had a bit of a soft spot for Jamal. Killing him would be putting her in a lot of pain. And that was one thing he'd never do to her.But the threat was necessary to make Luther reflect on his wrongs and realize that he wasn't someone he could trifle with and get away with it."Put Jamal down right now!" Luther raved, trembling from the tide of rage that enveloped his body.
