Chapter 42: Was It Confusion?

Selina's POV

"Are you okay?" I asked Jiya as we ate dinner together. She glanced at me briefly before nodding. "Yeah, I had a good nap earlier," she replied.

I stared at her, unconvinced. She didn’t look like she had slept at all, but I decided not to point it out. Instead, I shifted my gaze to the twins, who were happily devouring their meals.

"Anyway, sorry I couldn’t take you out earlier," Jiya said, pulling my attention back to her.

"There’s always tomorrow, so don’t worry," I replied with a reassuring smile. She nodded, but something about her demeanor felt off. It was strange to see her so downcast.

Maybe it’s the weight of everything that happened today.

When I first saw Reagan again while I was in disguise, I felt a whirlwind of emotions—sadness, anger, and fear that he might uncover the truth.

Even though our situations are different, I understand how Jiya feels. Right now, all I can do is support her. She was always there for me when I needed he

Chapter 43: Let's Talk Selina's POV Why is he here? I thought he wasn’t coming back right away? I stood frozen, staring at him, unable to find the right words. He closed the space between us, his piercing gaze making me feel uneasy. “What are you doing here without telling me?” he asked sternly. I rolled my eyes and gave him a slight push. “We’ll talk later. Go check on Sky inside—he’s been in there for a while and hasn’t come out,” I replied, trying to deflect. He studied me for a moment before nodding. “Alright. Later tonight,” he said firmly, before heading inside. I exhaled in relief once he was gone. What am I supposed to do now? Should I explain myself or not? But why should I? He’s the one who forgot about this vacation, not me. The only thing I might’ve done wrong is not telling anyone at the palace where we were going—not even the beta assigned to watch over us. My thoughts were interrupted when I saw Reagan and Sky coming out of the bathroom. Sky was grinning from ear

Chapter 44: Promise Ring Selina's POV "Follow me," he said seriously. I nodded, my heart racing as I silently followed him. I wasn’t sure why I was so nervous. We were just going to talk, after all. But wait, why is it so quiet? Where are the other visitors? It feels like it’s just the two of us here. Even the workers are nowhere to be seen. Where could they have gone? "Did you book a room?" I asked, glancing around. There wasn’t enough space in the room I reserved. It only had a double bed. He glanced at me briefly, then shook his head. What? He didn’t book a room? Where was he planning to stay? "I rented the whole place, Selina," he said, making my eyes widen even more. He did what? My mind raced. Why would he do that? He stopped walking and turned to face me, his gaze intense. "You don’t know the horror I felt when I learned that no one knew where you were, or where the twins were either," he said softly, his voice tight as if it might break. I stood still, my chest tighten

Chapter 45: You're the One Who Cheated Selina's POV I woke up abruptly, a sudden memory jolting me. Sunlight streamed through the room. The twins—are they okay? Did they make it back to their room safely? I turned to see Reagan sleeping soundly beside me. I nudged his shoulder gently. "Reagan, wake up!" I whispered, shaking him lightly. We have to get up now. We’re supposed to explore Casa Miracle before heading back to the palace. "Reagan? Hey, wake up!" I said, a little more irritated this time. He groaned but didn’t budge. I frowned, watching him roll over and pull me closer instead of waking up. "Reagan! Get up already! If you don’t, I’m leaving you here!" I snapped, slapping his arm lightly. His eyes fluttered open, and he smiled at me, his voice husky as he murmured, "Relax, babe. Can’t we stay here just a little longer?" "No," I replied firmly. "We have plans, remember? If you don’t want to join, then stay here. I’m leaving." He chuckled and released me, sitting up laz

Chapter 46: Crazy For You Selina's POV It’s nice to see that Jiya is slowly getting better. She’s currently playing with the twins while Reagan and I are setting up the tent we’ll use tonight. “Let’s finish this quickly so we can take them to the flower garden. Abigail mentioned last time that she wanted to see lots of flowers,” I said to Reagan. He glanced at me with a small smile. “Sure. After the flower garden, I know a nearby waterfall we can visit too,” he replied. My smile widened at his words. A waterfall! It’s been such a long time since I’ve visited a place like that. “I’d love that,” I said enthusiastically. Reagan nodded, smiling softly in return. After a few more minutes, we finally finished setting up the tent. Reagan took my hand, and together, we walked over to the twins. The twins beamed with excitement as they ran toward us. “Is it ready, Mom, Dad? I can’t wait to see the flower garden!” Abigail exclaimed, hugging me tightly. I brushed her hair lovingly. “Yes,

Chapter 47: Trust and Betrayal Selina’s POV Every moment of happiness seems to be followed by pain. One minute, we’re okay—happy even—and the next, everything falls apart. How did it all turn upside down so quickly? I sit in the corner, staring blankly at nothing, lost in the chaos of my thoughts. It hasn’t even been a week, and yet, he broke his promise again. How foolish of me to believe him a second time. A bitter laugh escapes my lips—not from joy, but from sheer pain. I close my eyes tightly and wipe the tears that seem endless. “God, this is insane. I’m losing my mind,” I mutter, laughing to myself. I must look crazy now, completely unhinged. My heart feels like it’s being crushed, the pain suffocating. How stupid could I be to fall for his sweet lies again? “You’re the one for me,” he said. What a joke. My laughter turns even more bitter. “Says the man who only knows how to lie,” I whisper, shaking my head in disbelief. Looking back, it makes sense now. Just three days af

Chapter 48: A Fool Selina's POV "Your children are looking for you. They're crying and asking why their father is marrying someone else," Jiya told me as she entered my new room. It’s been three days since I last spoke to Reagan. He’s been trying to talk to me whenever our paths cross, but I always avoid him. Today is his wedding day with Giselle. It feels like the pain from six years ago is resurfacing. The ache I feel now is deeper, more unbearable than back then. Trusting once is okay, twice is already foolish, and thrice is madness. I took a deep breath to calm myself. "Where are they?" I asked softly. Jiya looked at me with concern. "Should I bring them here? I know you don’t want to go outside," she suggested. I shook my head. "No, I’ll go to them." Although she was still worried, she had no choice but to nod. I grabbed my scarf from the table and left with Jiya. As soon as we stepped outside, I saw Reagan standing in front of the door. He was wearing a black tuxedo, l

Chapter 49: Torment Selina's POV "What should we do now?" Jiya asked, pacing back and forth in front of me. Wasn't she dizzy? Because I was. I groaned, shaking my head. "I don't know," I replied softly. My gaze shifted to Sky and Abi, sleeping on the bed. They had cried themselves to exhaustion. They were deeply disappointed in Reagan. Sky's words echoed in my mind: "I hate him. I hate my father for marrying Giselle and for hurting you." "I will never speak to him again!" he had declared angrily. Taking a deep breath, I closed my eyes. Charlotte had locked us in a place where we could see the ongoing wedding ceremony clearly. I wanted to cry again, but it felt like I had no tears left to shed. The pain had dulled. I felt numb—too confused to feel anything beyond pity. My heart ached more for the twins than for myself. Between us, they were the ones truly suffering. They had dreamed of having a complete family, but now that dream seemed out of reach. I sighed heavily.

Chapter 50: Liar Selina's POV I immediately turned to my side when I heard Reagan's voice. My heart sank as soon as I saw him. What is he doing here? I took a step back, trying to retreat inside, but he grabbed my hand and pulled me back toward him. He locked me in his arms, showing no intention of letting go. Damn it, why is he here, disrupting my life again? Wasn’t the pain he caused me enough? “You were watching us,” he whispered, his voice hoarse. I ignored his words and tried to push him away. I didn’t want to talk to him, see him, or, most of all, have him touch me. But damn it, his grip only tightened. “Reagan,” I warned, but he didn’t budge. What does he want from me? “I was hoping you would come and stop the wedding,” he murmured against my neck. Stop the wedding? Is he crazy? We were locked in a place where the wedding—his wedding to Giselle—was perfectly visible. My body froze like stone. “You were watching,” he repeated. “But you didn’t come—” That was it. I could

But strangely, there was no hint of regret in my heart.I looked at Reagan again. He slept so peacefully. "For once, Selina, be honest with your feelings," he said with urgency, his gaze sharp as it locked onto mine."Stop being stubborn. Stop pushing me away. But please, I don’t believe that there’s no trace of love left for me in your heart," he said, his voice filled with sorrow.I pressed my lips together tightly, turning my head to avoid his gaze. Honest with myself? Yes, he was right, I still loved him. But what good would my love do? Nothing. He only caused me pain, never returning the love I gave. Was I wrong to be cautious with him now? I didn’t want to feel that pain again, the repeated humiliation of loving him."So tell me, Selina. Say that you don’t love me, and I’ll let you go completely," he said hoarsely. Not yet.I’d done everything I could—cleaned his wounds, treated him. But there was only so much I could do.Biting my lower lip, I let out another shaky breath. Don’t care. Don’t worry about him. I had told myself I wouldn’t. But here I was, caught in the same cycle, fretting over him.I pressed my lips together and whispered, “You’re really something else, Reagan,” before standing up from my chair. Now that I’d done my part, I could leave and return to the twins. It was time to go.But just as I turned to walk away, his hand shot out, gripping my wrist with surprising strength. They shifted back into their human forms.I quickly handed each of them a towel to cover themselves. Abigail was overjoyed with the results, while Sky chuckled, knowing he could never beat his sister—not yet, at least. He's still young and was frail as a child. He didn’t get the chance to train his body or enhance his abilities for this kind of competition."See? I told you I’m faster than you!" Abigail teased, grinning widely. Instead of being annoyed, Sky laughed along."Okay, fine. You win this time. But this isn’t over, sister. Someday, I’ll beat you!" he declared with determination. Abi laughed even louder."I’ll be waiting," she replied with a mischievous smile. I shook my head, amused, and turned to Jiya."Go change," I told her.She nodded and went o

"You’re not coming to—" she stopped mid-sentence as Adrian turned to look at us.He began moving toward us, half-running. If he’s here, does that mean Reagan is too?"Selina, Jiya, Prince Sky, Princess Abigail," Adrian greeted us, bowing his head. Jiya returned the bow while the twins smiled politely."Hello, Royal Beta," Abigail said warmly."It’s nice to see you here, Uncle Adrian. Is Father with you?" Chapter 71: PeacefulSelina's POVIt has been two weeks since we left the palace, and I must admit, life is beginning to feel different—freer. For the first time in years, there’s a sense of normalcy, a quiet peace that I didn’t know I craved so deeply.I glanced at the twins, Abi and Sky, who were laughing and chasing each other around the living room. Their giggles echoed through the house, pure and unrestrained. Their happiness was infectious, warming every corner of my heart. When we first left, we planned to rent a small house, but Reagan insisted on buying one for us. He didn’t want the twins to feel displaced or unsafe. I didn’t argue. He was right—the children deserve a stable home, a place where they can grow without fear.Even now, I’ve noticed knights discreetly guarding the perimeter. They try to remain unseen, but I can sense their presence. It’s a small comfort, knowing Abi and Sky are still protected. After all, they are the legitimate heirs to the kingdom, whether or n

She was right—all I did was lie and make promises I couldn’t even keep.“Can we talk, son?” Charlotte said as she entered my office, her voice soft as always. I didn’t bother looking up.Adrian was right. She really refused to leave the palace. She’s been trying to talk to me about it—she wants to stay here with me.But I refused. I gave her only a week to stay, and after that, she and Vincent must leave immediately. What they did to Selina is unacceptable. If she weren’t my mother, I would’ve sentenced her to death. I shook the thought away and continued with what I was doing.“Son,” she called again. This time, I stopped reading and looked at her coldly.“What?” I asked, my voice icy.She lowered her gaze and hesitated to speak. I frowned.“Stop wasting my time.
