Chapter 29: Abigail

Selina's POV

When I woke up in the morning, he was no longer beside me. That’s perfectly fine because if he were still here, I wouldn’t know what to do. I don’t know what came over me last night to let things go that far.

I'm embarrassed for letting my guard down. This isn’t like me. I can’t believe how easily I become soft when it comes to him. Is it because he was once the love of my life?

What he said that night is true—we're still mates, bound to each other. I can't just erase that bond. Geez, what should I do now?

I got up from the bed and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. As I was drying my hair, I heard a knock on the door, three times.

“Yes?” I called. From outside, someone responded, “The king wanted to see you,” she said, just loud enough for me to hear. I rolled my eyes. He wants to see me again, even though we just met last night.

“Alright,” I replied, knowing that if I didn’t go, the maid who was sent to fetch me might get punished.

Chapter 30: True Identity They looked at me with a mixture of shock and confusion as I walked down the hallway, holding Abigail’s hand. Jiya quietly followed behind us, clearly picking up on their whispers and watching their horrified expressions. I can’t blame them. After nearly six years of being gone—dead, as they believed—I’ve returned. I no longer need to hide my true appearance, now that Reagan knows the truth. And with Abigail by my side, I feel stronger. “Are my eyes deceiving me? Isn’t that Lady Selina—the King’s dead mate?” I overheard one of the maids whisper. “Yes, it’s her. Brown hair, amber eyes—that’s definitely her. So… she isn’t dead? And who’s that child beside her?” My expression tightened. I hated when my children became the topic of their gossip. They can talk behind my back all they want, but not about my kids. “Her daughter… but wait, she resembles the king. Could she be his child too?” another murmured in

Chapter 31: The Luncheon Selina’s POV "What the hell! Who are you—" Giselle’s words trailed off the moment she saw me. I hadn’t meant to bump into her on my way to see the twins; she just happened to be blocking the path. Her eyes widened as if she’d seen a ghost, her face drained of color. A smirk tugged at my lips as she whispered my name, "Selina," horror laced her voice. This was the first time she’d seen me since I revealed my true identity yesterday. The shock in her eyes was far more satisfying than I’d anticipated. Seeing someone you thought dead must be utterly unbelievable. "Hello, Giselle. It’s been a while," I greeted her smoothly, taking in her staggered steps as she recoiled in disbelief. "No... This isn’t real. You’re not real. You’re dead, Selina!" Her voice rose, panicked, drawing the attention she so loved. I took a deliberate step closer. "This isn’t a dream, Giselle. I’m alive." She shook her head over and over. "No, you’re not real." I chuckled at her react

The air was thick with judgment; it made every bite feel like it might choke me.One thing was clear—they didn’t like me. But the real question was… did that matter? Absolutely not. I wasn’t here to win them over.I nodded, choosing my words carefully and maintaining as much respect as I could manage, despite their obvious disdain."I see. So, you’re the mother of my son’s children. The same woman who faked her own death and ruined Reagan and Giselle’s wedding," she said, bluntly."Mother!" Reagan’s voice cut in, sharp and warning. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Giselle’s lips curve into a smirk. She was enjoying this. That witch."What, son? I’m merely stating facts," his mother replied, lifting her chin. "I’m just asking her a question." As much as I didn’t like her, she was right—I wouldn’t be intimidated. Whether they approved of

Please, hail our princess!"We all began to bow before her. I could clearly see the excitement and happiness on her face, and I felt a pang of guilt, knowing I once kept this moment from her.I felt Reagan's hand slide into mine, and I looked up at him. "Our children have grown up so much," he said, and I nodded in agreement, feeling that same bittersweet sentiment."Yes, they have," I replied, thinking of how quickly time had flown by."We will take care of them and love them as they deserve," he added softly."They deserve to be loved and protected. Protect them, Reagan, if not me," I said, feeling a tug at my heart. "That would be enough."His grip on my hand tightened gently. "I will protect all three of you," he promised, gazing into my eyes. His sincerity made me want to trust him again,

Chapter 34: No Regrets?Selina's POV“They want to go to bed,” Jiya said, approaching me with the twins clinging to her, rubbing their tired eyes.It was getting late, but the party was still in full swing. I nodded and scanned the crowd. Where could Reagan be? We’d promised the twins that we’d tuck them in together.I finally spotted him chatting with the Grand Duke. Beside him was Giselle, her smile plastered wide across her face. I cringed. They were such an eyesore together. Oh, wait, what am I even saying? I shouldn’t be affected by this. Pull yourself together, Selina.Taking a deep breath, I decided that Jiya and I would take the twins to bed. “Let’s go. They need to sleep,” I said, lifting Sky into my arms. I wished I could carry them both. Jiya picked up Abigail. As we held them, they rested their heads on our shoulders and fell asleep instantly, clearly exhausted. We began to walk out of the venue.“So much has happened in just one month,” Jiya murmured with a sigh. I nodded

I took a deep breath and nodded at Jiya.I knew she was hesitant to leave me alone with Charlotte, aware of how she treated me.Jiya looked at me with concern but eventually nodded and went ahead to the garden with the twins. Once she was gone, I turned my gaze back to Charlotte."Where should we talk?" I asked her calmly. She smiled, though it didn’t reach her eyes. How amazing it is to see her openly show her disapproval, I thought sarcastically."Follow me," she said, and began to walk. I followed her in silence.I wondered what she wanted to say. Maybe it was about what happened last night. Or perhaps she’d ask me to back off.She stopped walking, so I did too. Chapter 36: Failed To ProtectSelina's POVMy eyebrows knitted together as I crossed my arms over my chest. "Are you all seriously telling me no one knows what happened?" I demanded in frustration. That’s just absurd.Sky and Abi have over five nannies looking after them whenever I’m not around. And yet, here they all are, telling me no one saw what actually happened? Do they think I’m a fool?“We were all away from the scene when the incident happened, My Lady,” one of them said, bowing her head. My face twisted with even more irritation.“All of you were away? Not a single one of you can tell me the truth?” I said angrily, watching them exchange nervous glances. It looked like none of them had any intention of admitting anything."How about I tell His Majesty to investigate this matter himself? What do you think?" I said coldly. The way he fell into the water yesterday must have been serious.I stopped walking and looked at her. Shaking my head, I replied softly, "No, baby. Mommy isn’t mad at your father." She stared at me intently, as if trying to read my thoughts."Why do you ask, Abi?" I questioned her gently. She pouted and said, "Because you’re ignoring him, Mom. He told me he’s sad because you won’t talk to him."What? Reagan said that?I sighed deeply and knelt down to her level. "We just had a misunderstanding, Baby. But I’m not mad at him, okay?" I assured her while gently patting her head. She nodded, looking a little more relieved. "Okay, Mom."We continued walking, but my mind drifted back to yesterday’s conversation with Reagan. I brushed off the thought and shifted my gaze to Celine, the so-called Moon Goddess. She even chose a name similar to mine. If Giselle is the mastermind of all this, I will never forgive her.I looked around, searching for the twins or anyone who could tell me where the children were. Why did everything have to come to this? Why do my children have to suffer because of their anger and jealousy? I left him, didn’t I? I gave them what they wanted. What more do I have to do? I stopped walking and took a deep breath. This is not working."Sky, Abi. Where are you? Mommy's here," I called their names softly while looking around.Tears kept falling down my cheeks. I don’t know what I would do if I lost them. The events of last night came back to me.My cheeks flushed in embarrassment. God, I did it again. Damn that weakness. I groaned softly and turned to look outside. The sun's rays hit my face, forcing me to cover my eyes from the brightness.I bit my bottom lip and took a deep breath. I let my emotions override my logic last night. I shouldn't have done that. But strangely, there was no hint of regret in my heart.I looked at Reagan again. He slept so peacefully. His wounds were starting to heal and I couldn't believe he still had the strength to hold me last night.I bit my lip and sighed. Ugh, forget it. Anyway, I felt like I forgot something important. "For once, Selina, be honest with your feelings," he said with urgency, his gaze sharp as it locked onto mine."Stop being stubborn. Stop pushing me away. I know I hurt you, and that’s why you don’t want me to stay. But please, I don’t believe that there’s no trace of love left for me in your heart," he said, his voice filled with sorrow.I pressed my lips together tightly, turning my head to avoid his gaze. Honest with myself? Yes, he was right, I still loved him. But what good would my love do? Nothing. He only caused me pain, never returning the love I gave. Was I wrong to be cautious with him now? Instead of being annoyed, Sky laughed along."Okay, fine. You win this time. But this isn’t over, sister. Someday, I’ll beat you!" he declared with determination.
