The Lycan King's POV

I couldn't stand another minute in that bar so I left then made my way back to the castle ignoring Lily's attempts to make me stay.

As soon as I entered the grand hall, Raymond, my second in command, was there to greet me, his sharp hazel eyes scanning me, taking in my disheveled appearance.

“You look wasted,” he said, a hint of concern in his voice.

I rolled my eyes, waving off his concern. “I barely drank,” I replied, my voice harsher than intended. “I just needed to get out of there.”

Raymond didn’t press further, knowing better than to push me when I was in a foul mood. Instead, he reached into his jacket and pulled out a letter. “Your brother dropped this off earlier,” he said, handing it to me. “I thought you’d want to see it right away.”

I snatched the letter from his hand, a knot forming in my stomach as I recognized the seal. I broke the seal and unfolded the letter, my eyes scanning the mocking words scrawled across the page.
