Kayla's POV

I stood there, stunned, as the Lycan King’s words hit me. “Gather your things. You’re leaving this house,” he said, his tone unyielding.

My heart pounded. “Are you sure?” I asked, my voice shaking. “I mean, are you really certain about this?”

“Yes, Kayla. I am sure, you look terrible if you continue this way you'll suffer a miscarriage I can't let you suffer this way anymore. You have one day to prepare. If you’re not ready, I will ensure you are.”

The finality in his tone left no room for negotiation. A mix of relief and anxiety churned inside me. Relief, because I was finally being rescued from this torment, and anxiety, because I had no idea what awaited me.

Josh, on the other hand, was furious. His face was twisted in anger as he stormed out, cursing under his breath. The King watched him leave with an indifferent expression before turning his attention back to me.
