Harper expected something more than just being considered. To her, being considered on a decision meant the person didn’t like it in the first place, just shy to admit or say that it’s rejected.

Hector cackled at the sight of his father. Damon approached his son and picked him up from Harper’s lap. Then, he excused himself and gone back to their rooms, leaving his half-eaten bread and empty mug of coffee on the table.

“That went well?” – Anthony asked as Brayden resumed his seat

Norton gasped at what Brayden said. Harper frowned, knowing that Damon would do nothing of the sort. If what Brayden said is true, it’s because of him, not of his older brother. It’s the only valid explanation for that. Nothing else.
