KAEL’s POV.
I sat on my throne, my eyes scanning the faces of the wolves seater in front of me. My pack gathered before me, their faces filled with fear and respect. I leaned forward, my voice low and menacing. "Any weakness will be dealt with swiftly. I will not tolerate disobedience." My gaze was on a young wolf, cowering in the corner. "You, Ryker, have failed me for the last time. You're banished from the pack." I watched as Ryker brought his hands together, as a sign of him begging me, but I showed no mercy. I signaled to my guards, who dragged him away. After each wolf went to his den, my beta, Zephyr, approached me. "Kael, may I have a word?" I nodded, and Zephyr came near. "What is it, Zeph?" "Your brother, Kieran... he's growing stronger. His pack is expanding, and his influence is spreading." My eyes narrowed. "What are you saying, Zeph?" Zephyr's voice was low and measured. "I'm saying that Kieran is a threat to your rule, to our pack's safety. He's ruthless, Kael, and he won't hesitate to destroy us. I also heard… he is planning on getting a mate soon, which means he wants an heir to solidify his throne.” My face twisted in rage. "I'll never let that happen. I'll crush him before he can even try." Zephyr placed a hand on my shoulder. "Kael, listen to me. You're not invincible. You have fears and doubts. You can't face Kieran alone. I am here for you .” I gritted my teeth at Zephyr's words, but I knew he was right. I was afraid of Kieran, afraid of his power and his influence, he was no ordinary wolf, he was a hybrid. But I couldn't show weakness, not even to Zephyr. "I know, Zeph," I said finally. "But what choice do I have? I can't show weakness, not even to you." Zephyr's expression softened. "You can trust me, Kael. I'm your beta, your friend. Together, we'll face Kieran and protect our pack." I looked at Zephyr, and for a moment, I felt he was right. Maybe, just maybe, I didn't have to face this alone. Maybe Zephyr could help me defeat Kieran and secure my throne. But I have a reputation to live up to. "Very well, Zeph. Let's prepare for war." The anger in my heart grew, raising my determination to destroy Kieran and secure my rule. But at what cost? Zephyr's eyes darted to mine, and I could sense his hesitation, he knew something. "Kael, there's something else. Something you need to know." I raised an eyebrow. "What is it, Zeph?" Zephyr's eyes scanned the room. "It's about the pack's history, Kael. About the secrets we've kept hidden for so long." My curiosity got a hold of me, I leaned forward. "What secrets, Zeph?" Zephyr's voice dropped to a whisper. "About the murders, Kael. The ones that happened when your father was alpha." My eyes narrowed. "What about them?" Zephyr's eyes darted away from kins. "Kael, your father didn't just kill rival wolves. He killed our pack members. Wolves who threatened his power, wolves who knew too much." My mind reeled as I processed Zephyr's words. I had always known my father was ruthless, but I had never imagined he was capable of such evil deeds. "Why are you telling me this, Zeph?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. Zephyr's expression was grim. "Because, Kael, I think Kieran knows about the murders. And I think he's using that knowledge to gather support among the other packs. So it is best if you also know…” My heart raced as I realized the implications. If Kieran revealed the truth about our pack's dark past, it could mean the end of our rule. The end of our pack. Killing a pack member for a reason like this is enough to start a war within the pack. "What do we do, Zeph?" I asked, feeling desperation slowly rising. Zephyr's eyes met mine, and I could see the determination there. "We need to stop Kieran, Kael. Before he can reveal the truth." I nodded, my mind racing with strategies and plans. I knew that this would be a fight to the death, but I was ready. I would do whatever it took to protect my pack, my rule, and my secrets. "Zeph, gather the guards," I said finally, my voice firm and leaving no room for arguments. "We'll need to take care of Kieran once and for all." Zephyr nodded. "I'll get them ready, Kael. But we need to be careful. Kieran is cunning, and he won't go down without a fight." I nodded, my mind already racing with strategies and plans. I knew that this would be a dangerous mission, but I was ready. I would do whatever it took to protect my pack, my rule, and my father’s secrets. Just as Zephyr was about to leave, a commotion was heard at the entrance of the chamber. The doors burst open, and a figure strode in, their eyes fixed on me. "Kael," the figure growled, their voice dripping with malice. "We meet again." My heart sank as I recognized the figure. It was Ryker, the same wolf I had banished from the pack just hours before. But now, he was back, and he looked more braver than ever. "Ryker," I snarled, my hackles rising, ready for attack. "You're supposed to be banished. How did you get back in?" Ryker sneered. "I have my ways, Kael. And I've come for revenge. I have teamed up with a better alpha and we will take you down.” "Ryker, you're not welcome here," Zephyr growled, his teeth bared. "Leave now, before things get ugly. Trust me, things get ugly real quick with the likes of you.” Ryker laughed, a cold, mirthless sound. "I'm not going anywhere, Zephyr. I've come to help the right person take away your alpha title, and I won't let anyone stand in my way." My eyes narrowed, my heart racing. I knew that this was going to be a fight to the death, and I was ready. But just as I was about to attack, Ryker's eyes darted to something behind me, and a sly smile spread across his face. "Ah, Kael," he said, his voice dripping with malice. "I think you'll want to see this." And with that, he gestured to the entrance of the chamber, where a figure stood, their eyes fixed on me. My heart sank as I recognized the figure. It was Kieran, my brother, my enemy. And he looked more dangerous than ever. “Hi, brother.”Akira’s pov.I stood before Kaida, my head bowed in shame. I could feel her anger and grief, she had just lost her mother. I knew I had failed, and I couldn't blame her for blaming me."Akira, you failed," Kaida spat, her voice filled with venom . "Lyra is dead, and it's all your fault."I felt a lump form in my throat as her words sunk in me. I knew I had done everything I could, but it hadn't been enough. I had tried to heal Lyra, to save her, but my efforts had been in vain."I'm sorry, Kaida," I whispered, my voice trembling. "I didn't mean for this to happen."Kaida's expression turned even angrier. "Sorry? Sorry isn't enough, Akira. You're a disgrace to our pack. You're supposed to be our healer, our savior. But instead, you're a failure. You killed her!” I felt tears gather at the corners of my eyes as Kaida's verbal thrashing continued. I knew I didn't deserve this, but I also knew that Kaida was sad and upset. “You… you killed my sister with your black magic! I saw you… you
Kael's POV:I sat on my throne, my eyes fixed on Zephyr as he approached me. His expression was serious, and I could tell something was wrong. "What is it, Zeph?" I asked, my voice firm."Aria has requested to leave the pack," he said, his voice low.My eyes narrowed. "What? Why would she want to leave?"Zephyr shifted uncomfortably in his seat. "She's unhappy with your rule, Kael. She thinks you're too harsh and demanding."My face became dark with rage. How dare she question my leadership? I am the alpha, and my decisions are final."I'm the alpha, it's my job to make tough decisions," I growled. "I can't have weak members in my pack."Zephyr sighed. "I understand, Kael, but Aria is a valuable member. We need her skills to survive. She is a fertile one.”I waved my hand. "I'll find a new breeder, one who is loyal and obedient. Aria is no longer welcome in this pack."Zephyr nodded, but I could see the disapproval in his eyes. I didn't care. I am the alpha, and my word is law. Besid
AKIRA’s POV.I stood in the dark room, my heart racing with anxiety. Ryker's pack members surrounded me, their eyes fixed on me like I was prey."Akira," Ryker's voice was smooth. "You've been chosen for a great honor. You're going to be a peace offering to Kael's pack."I felt a chill run down my spine. "What do you mean?" I tried to keep my voice steady, despite the turmoil inside of me.Ryker smiled. "You'll be going to Kael's pack as a breeder. You'll help strengthen the bond between our packs and ensure peace. Consider it your way out of killing Lyra.” I shook my head, horror resting on me. "No. No way. I won't do it."Ryker's smile grew wider. "You don't have a choice. You're a symbol of our good intentions. And you'll do as you're told."I gritted my teeth in annoyance. I knew I had to think fast, or I'd be trapped in a life I didn't want. But for now, I was at Ryker's mercy. And I knew he had none.I took a step back, my eyes blazing with rage. "I won't do it," I repeated, my
AKIRA’s POV.I pace back and forth in the cold, dungeon, my footsteps subconsciously counted by the voice in my head. Days have passed since I was thrown in here, and I've lost count of how long I've been in this dark hole. The only light comes from a small torch when the guards do their daily round of patrol down here in this hell hole. I feel helpless and trapped down here, my mind racing with thoughts of escape. But every time I approach the door of my dungeon, I hear the guard’s laughter and mocking comments. They're too vigilant, too alert. I know I can't take them on alone.I stopped pacing and leaned against the wall, my head in my hands. Why did I have to cross Kael? Why did I have to refuse his offer? I know I'm an omega, and I know my place in this pack. But I can't help feeling like I'm meant for more. Why would all omegas be forced to be breeders? We can stand up for ourselves too.I think back to my time in the pack, to the moments when I felt alive, when I felt I was m
Akira’s POV.I was sitting in the breeding chamber, trying to rest, when I overheard the guards talking. "Did you hear? Keiran's back," one of them said, their voice low as they did their daily patrols in the breeding chambers. My ears stood up, and I turned to the other breeders. "Who's Keiran?" I asked, trying to sound nonchalant. One of the breeders, a tall, blonde wolf named Sophia, looked at me with her face pale, and fear in her eyes. "Keiran is Kael's brother," she said. "He was banished from the pack years ago for trying to overthrow Kael."I felt a chill run down my spine. "What? Why would he do that?"Sophia leaned in, her eyes darting towards the door and then back at me. "Keiran always thought he should be alpha, not Kael. He's mean, harsh, and ruthless."The other breeders nodded in agreement, each wolf clutching the hem of their dress. "He's not someone to be trifled with," one of them said. "If he's back, it's not good news for any of us." If Keiran was back, it could
Akira’s POV.I stood outside Kael's office, my heart racing with anxiety and excitement. I had rehearsed my proposal a thousand times. I spent the last week going through the pack’s archive hoping to find something I can use in convincing Kael to see things from my point of view and work with me.I took a deep breath and knocked on the door."Akira," Kael said, his voice low and unusually gentle. "Come in."I entered the office, my eyes meeting with Kael's. He sat behind his desk, his long jet-black hair covering half of his face, his pink lips looked tantalizing and I desperately yearned to kiss him till all he can say is my name. But for now, I came here to ally."So, Akira," he said, as he used a rubber band to tie his hair up. "I hear you have a proposal for me."I nodded, my voice steady despite the heat spreading across my body. "Yes, Kael. I want to help you defeat Keiran."Kael raised an eyebrow. "And what do you want in return?"I took a deep breath. "Freedom, respect as a
Kael’s POV.I sat behind my desk, my eyes fixed on Akira as she entered the room. She looked like she just heard something that made her nervous, it was evident from the beads of sweat on her forehead."Akira," I said, my voice low. "I see you've made your decision."She nodded, her gaze matching mine. "Yes, Kael. I've decided to accept your proposal."I raised an eyebrow, but not surprised, I knew she would eventually come back, but for now, let’s play some games. "Really? I thought you'd be more hesitant."Akira took a deep breath. "I was, at first. But then I realized that this contract might be beneficial to the both of us and I would be stupid to let this slip through my fingers. I want to be your mate and Luna, and I want to help you lead the pack."I leaned back in my chair, tapping my index finger on my cheek. "I like your spirit, Akira. But let me make one thing clear: being my mate and Luna won't be easy. There will be pressure from the council, and there will be challenges
Keiran’s POV.I sat in the shadows, my eyes fixed on my partner, Kaida. We were in a secluded spot, far from the eyes and ears of third and unwanted parties. Our mission was clear: to bring down Kael and Akira, and take my rightful place as leader and for Kaida, getting back at the witch who killed her mother with black magic."Kaida, we need to be smart about this," I said, my voice low but audible. "We can't just barge in and start causing chaos. We need a plan. I know my brother, he is not a man you would want to trifle with.”Kaida nodded, her eyes shining with excitement. "I've been thinking about that, Keiran. And I have a few ideas."I leaned in, my ears up. "Let's hear them."Kaida smiled, a mischievous look in her eye. "First, we spread rumors. We tell the pack that Akira is weak, that she's not fit to be Luna. We tell them that Kael is blind to her flaws and that he's making a mistake by trusting her. There should be some pack laws we can use to our advantage too, laws that
