Chapter Twelve

A whirlwind of emotions coursed through me as I stood impatiently in front of the pet quarters. Meeting Iris had given me a glimpse of hope and piqued my interest in Murad's pets. It was time to break out from my self-imposed solitude and start interacting with others for my own good.

The door stood in front of me, separating the comfortable bounds of my isolation from the possibilities that lurked on the other side. I took a deep breath and pushed the door open, bracing myself for what could possibly happen and how I would be received.

My eyes examined the familiar yet strange surroundings as I went into the passageway. This wasn't my first time here, but the last time I was here, I was still fresh to the notion of being a pet, and looking around wasn't something that piqued my interest.

The pet's quarters alone were unexpectedly larger than I had anticipated, with separate rooms allotted to each pet, guaranteeing a sense of seclusion; as a result, I had only caught glimps
