The next week had me fussing over the metal band around my neck. Turning this way and that before the mirror, I took in the restraint with no little amount of frustration. This had to go. If it didn't, then I wouldn't either.

Hecate had to know this was going to happen, so I had to wonder why she'd even given me my gift in the first place--a gift that'll prove useless in the grand scheme of things. Surely she hadn't given it to me because she wanted me to spy into Lan's memories? To see that at some point he was merely an innocent boy...

Until something changed him, and I would give anything to know what it was exactly.

I huffed out a breath in defeat. This past week I hadn't had any dreams from Tabitha or from Lan's past, in fact, I could barely remember the things I'd even dreamt about.

A groan escaped me when I pulled at the choker forcefully and it only served to cut into my skin. A bite of pain radiated down my neck and I craned my head, listening to my bones crack. Just when my

I swiped a few ice packs from the store and marched over to my room, throwing them down on the bed while I quickly stripped off the turtle neck blouse I'd worn this morning. Now only in my bra, I dropped down on the chair behind the dresser and looked in the mirror. Blood blanched out of my face. "Goddess..." The area around my neck was a sickening shade of red and purple. A clog formed at the back of my throat. This would never have happened if I was back at my coven... If things were different, if Hecate didn't decide to ruin my life--I would've probably been back home fending off bribes from my aunts to clean up the coven. Then they would've gotten guilty for making me clean up the damage from a party they'd thrown for me and volunteered to be test monkeys for my fashion projects. The lump at the back of my throat swole until I could feel my eyes sting. And it didn't help that I just kept feeling like everything will only get worse as time went on. My grey eyes watered and

"So you understand that you're to mend any wounds he sustains from the hunt, and also make adequate meals for him from the spoils as well?"Annoyance churned in my gut. So I was to carter to his needs now like an obedient housewife? Facing Melinda, I forced a nod.She looked at me with flat expectancy, waiting for something. When I got she was waiting for my words, I stifled an eyeroll. "Yes, I understand I'm to carter to his needs and his appetite as well..."At my cranky tone, she eyed me narrowly, then checked her wristwatch. "You need to be down in forty-five minutes, the hunting party moves before seven."A party that included the king, his advisors, their omegas, and the strongest warriors in his pack. Melinda looked at me in sudden realization. "Oh and--" she picked up the brown bag beside her and extended it to me.My forehead creased. Just when I had it in my hold, she said, "Your uniforms are ready for wear now."I went pale. No...While I took out the ugly, misshapen grey

Lan carried on in stony silence and neither of us said anything else for the rest of the drive. I think I must have slept off, because I jerked awake when the car lurched on something. Blinking open my groggy eyes, I looked into the darkness around me. We were slowing into a dirt path. My gaze fixated on the windscreen. I watched as he maneuvered the car down the rocky lane and into a really wide clearing. On the large space, numerous cabins were scattered around. While the rest parked at an isolated spot, Lan continued to go further down, riding up a low hill to get to a place with fewer trees. He came to a stop before a large cabin, killing the engine. He got out before me, going on to heft out the bags in the boot, including mine, then he proceeded to carry them up the narrow steps of the dark cabin. Getting out, I followed after him, climbing up the wooden steps that led to the small porch. Passing by a patio chair, I went in through the narrow entrance. Bright moonlight poured

The loud sound of axe on wood snapped me awake. Rising to a sitting position, I rubbed at my arms to assuage some of the cold biting into my skin. Dropping down to the floor, I went over to the window and peeked out.The early morning sun reflected on Lan's broad back, catching the sweat sliding down it. His muscles flexed as he rose the axe and brought it down, splitting the wood in two. I nibbled on my bottom lip, a girl could wake up to this view every morning...My face flushed at my train of thoughts and I moved away from the window. I threw open the closet and was met with my uniform. My mood took a nosedive.Distantly I heard the door opening. It barely registered because I continued to stare at the gown in contemplation. I'd managed to wear it through yesterday due to some mental superhuman strength, but today said strength was absent. I couldn't... do it.My head whipped to the side on hearing something. Lan was in the process of leaning a should

The lycans below crouched, rearing to attack. While they were lean and toned, the bears were huge and robust, and despite myself, a part of me started to grow scared for them. But the fear vanished once a bear dropped down on all fours and attacked, surging forward with a bone-chilling roar. A huge lycan dashed at it with lethal speed, leaping on his hind legs to tackle it down, slicing a claw down its face.A roar of pain rose up from the bear even as excited cheers sounded. The cheers soon died down when a bear landed on another lycan, digging its teeth into his shoulder. When next it rose its mouth, it was bloody and contained a chunk of flesh. Nausea roiled in my stomach.Another lycan dove for the bear, knocking it off while throwing punches at it in rapid successions, large canines bared in a snarl. The bear clamped its teeth around a wrist and bit down hard, eliciting a loud howl. Two bears ganged up on a lycan. One tackling him to the ground

That night, I dreamt Lan's memories...I was in ancient Gornagon. My mouth dried up on seeing the state of the castle. Destroyed. Smoke emanated from the burnt remains of the keep and all around, lycans extracted and wheeled people away from the desolate remains. The air hung heavy with a sadness so potent it clogged my throat. Away from me, a young Lan stared ahead in horror. A thought of his slid through my mind. 'Mam, where are you?' My heart clenched, unease starting to grow in the pit of my stomach.A pale man made his way through the dark atmosphere, drawing level with the lycan king. Once he was close enough, I realized I'd never seen him before. From his strapping figure and regal bearing, I could only guess he was royalty. His irises were a light shade of red and when his lips parted slightly, I made out sharp fangs."King Dmitri, I'm glad you're here," said the brute that was Lan's father. The vampire, Dmitri, nodded,

The next day I awoke on my narrow bed, my hands held up above my head: Lan sucking a spot on my neck. "You're awake," he murmured against my skin.I barely had time to think before he stripped me down to my waist, cupping a breast in his rough palm. Once he dipped his head down to close his hot mouth over a nipple, I rose off the bed as a surge of pleasure attacked me. I grew fully awake, my confusion melting away.My breathing picked up once he bit down on the bud and licked away the sting, groaning around my flesh, "Gods, Willow... Can't get enough of you."Shock jolted through me when the rest of my clothes came off. "Lan--""Shh," he said absently, slowly running a rough hand up my sides. "I want to see you."The intensity in his gaze robbed me of breath. Masculine sounds broke out of his chest as he slowly explored me, sliding his hands over my skin while my breaths shallowed. His eyes met mine the same time he started a slow trail up my inner

I threw my head back and laughed, wheezing out, "You can't be serious, Lan!"His eyes glinted with amusement, then they slowly sobered. "I like it when you say my name."After a beat of silence, my voice turned suggestive and I snapped my teeth at him playfully. "Bet you like it even better when I scream it."A pause. A small smile teased Lan's lips. On a low note he said, "You just used bet twice in a sentence. . .and that's two letters short of butt."My laughter sharply cut through the room and I slapped his hard chest. "I really don't understand your fascination with butts.""Well then," he said lowly, sliding a rough hand under my shirt. "You must understand my fascination with yours." He splayed his hand over my ass cheek, softly kneading it.With a roll of my eyes, I chuckled. Lan, I realized during the past eight hours we spent goofing around on the living room floor, was insufferably cheeky when he wanted to be. A part of me wondere

Hi, guys. So this is a wrap up on all the potential spinoffs!♥ Please comment below on which one you liked better and would like to read. . Annnddd, about the ending of The lycan king, here it goes: in chapter 64, Cordelia asks Willow, "Do you think evil truly ever goes away? Ever dies?" To which Willow says, "I don't know." Cordelia's reply after that is, "No, it lives on in our memories." There you have it. Dmitri only 'lives' in Willow's memories. Literally. He only exists there because as a downside to Willow's powers, she forms a connection with anyone whose memories she's ever looked into. Only when she's strong enough and has total control over her powers can she break it. So much for my cliffhanger. So, guys, thank you all so much for reading! It means a lot. And if you enjoyed it please, please, pleassee with a drop of hot lava and some basalts: leave a honest review and star rating in the main page. See you in the next book!

Chapter 1.[Dedicated to Sonic Tails, Anita.E and ♥Evihan♥] _ (CORINNE) It's been three hundred and seventy days, eight thousand eight hundred and eighty hours, and an infinite amount of seconds since my roommate disappeared. Which meant it was three hundred and seventy days since I knew I could even count. And that much amount of days since anyone around here paid me any attention. They were too busy sulking over Hellene's disappearance, and my birthday was f*cking tomorrow. Going down the stairs, the satisfying click of my red bottoms reached my ears, along with the quiet, dread-filled whispering slinking around the coven. Goddess. The witches acted as if someone had died! Well, I was going to if everyone kept ignoring me. I ventured into the gold hall, which was easily the most beautiful room in our New Orleans coven. I liked to think ours was the best coven among the ten that existed throughout the faction. I came across the ground floor and paused. It was teeming with

"I'll think about it..."Corinne, my roommate and a witch in the same coven as me, squealed and hurried out of the sunny room in a flurry of designer clothes and expensive heels.Maren, another one of my caste-witches, came in at that moment, chuckling quietly. "You shouldn't always give in to Corinne's demands, you know?""Her ceaseless begging would make a coven eunuch beg for quiet.""Eunuchs are deaf.""Exactly my point."She chuckled again, walking into the mostly empty room. "Still, Hell, don't. Corinne's like a parasite. Once she sees you're a perfect enough host, she strikes. With Willow gone, you're the youngest in the coven now and she's exploiting that fact perfectly." She finished with a smile, "But not under my watch."I pushed a stack of empty cartons over to my bed. Taking one out, I began to cram in my numerous books. She scoffed. "You're

A/N Hi, guys! So I'm having a massive writer's block (okay, it's not writer's block as much as it's an overflow of ideas). I don't know whose book to continue as a spinoff. I have so many story ideas based off each character. (and no, my loves, I won't "just write all of them" because there are so many other book projects I have going on). So here's what I'm going to do. Everyday I'll post a chapter from each potential spinoff and I'll leave it to you to decide which one you think I should continue. Annnndd, about the ending of The Lycan King, if you read through these chapters, it will be explained. Contrary to what you believe, it does have an ending. And the clue to finding out whether or not Dimitri's 'real'--and if Willow and Lan would have their happily ever after (finally)--is at least ten chapters back. But I'll relieve you of the detective hat and explain it all in the final chapter. So read on! Alright, so the first potential book spinoff is Aradia's (One of the witche

[A YEAR LATER] __ I woke up with a smile on my face. The space beside me was empty but warm, and I rolled over to inhale Lan's delicious scent. I supposed he was downstairs making sure everything was set for tomorrow. I should join him. Exhaling, I got off the bed and started towards the bathroom, yawning as I went. Water bursted out of the shower, rousing me up completely. Scrubbing a hand down my face, I looked around. The massive, marbled space never ceased to amaze me. In fact, every part of the luxurious house never did. Lan and I had bought a mansion at a secluded part of Chicago. A place that was near Gornagon though. And it was magnificent. Washing my hair with shampoo, I exhaled in content. Everything was magnificent. I was at final year of fashion school and already, in my repertoire: were a few collaborations I'd done with reputable fashion houses. I was expecting, too. Lan and I were yet to check the gender of the baby, but we'd set a date to next week, and despite th

WILLOW__[A Week Later]Just as I closed the book on my desk, the door opened. Turning, I saw Meredith at the entrance. Her grey eyes regarded me softly and when she fully came in, I saw she held a tray in her hands.Drawing closer, she dropped the tray on my desk. The smell of pancakes filled my nose.Meredith ordered gently, "Have something to eat."Shaking my head, I pushed my chair away from the desk, rising. "I'm not hungry," I mumbled. When I started to turn away, she grabbed my hand. Her eyes turned serious. "What good would it do to Lan if he returns and sees you're determined to starve yourself to death?"Bloody feet dragging against hard concrete flashed across my mind, quickly followed by the sight of Lan's twisting form before he was beheaded. My throat tightened. "He's not coming back," I said, diverting my gaze from hers.Dropping my hand, she stepped back. Her eyes flashed. "And what if he isn't? Are you just going to abandon your responsibilities? You have a kingdom t

The rain threatening to fall had let up, and the sky had been cleared of every dark cloud by the time I went back to the battle field.Stopping above a hill, I took a moment to look at the crowd below. The witches and lycans that'd been under the influence of the elixir were now restored back to normal, their faces bright with tears, relief and happiness. The emotion that was most palpable was sorrow, for the people lost. My stomach knotted. I didn't think I would ever have it in me to feel happy again.Meredith was the first to notice me. Her face brightened. "Willow!" she yelled.Heads swerved around and soon a cheer rose up in the crowd, prompting me to come down the hill and walk over to the wide field. While I neared, Meredith noticed the bleak look in my eyes. Perhaps the rest did too because gradually, they quietened.Meredith drew closer to me, the rest of my caste witches in tow. Sybil stepped forward, a tentative smile on her face. For the first time since I've known her,

His boots clicked against the tiles as he slowly approached me. Chills slithered down my spine with each step he took and I found myself backing away. His low voice filled the room. "A little diviner prophesied about you two centuries ago. She said... you would destroy me. You." A little smile cracked his hard face, then it disappeared. "Do you know what I did to her?"He continued to prowl towards me and when my back touched the wall, I got spurred into action. A white energyball exploded out of my palms, heading straight for him.Hands at his back, he inclined away from the assault fluidly, never seizing in his stride towards me. "I had her killed," he continued as if I had not just attacked him. "There was tension between your kind and the lycans, so I decided to fuel it. What better way to do that than to strike where it hurts the most?"The image of Lan's mother flashed across my mind, bare of all her limbs, and I hurled another ball at him, shrieking, "You, animal!" He merely

WILLOW__The faces around me were cold, set.It was time. The atmosphere had darkened considerably, thunder rumbling off at a distance. The cave was filled with countless lycans and some had shifted, standing over nine feet tall with a build as wide and large as the tanks displaced outside. Witches around spent the last few minutes practicing their spells, their armour plates glinting against the residue of fiery hues from the cauldrons.Vials were passed around and when Tristan sounded the order, they turned it over their mouths. All around me, warriors, both witches and lycans, started to slowly disintegrate. The ever present dark feeling in my stomach intensified, rising to spread around my chest.Meridith shouldered her way through the diminishing crowd, advancing towards me. When she stood before me, she held my arm and brought her face closer to mine, saying in hushed tones, "Try to stay clear of the fight.
