Xander

I had been keeping my distance since she woke. Instead, I watched her from afar. Trying to work out if what Jack had said was true. I had watched her come out of the packhouse and look for something. I could have stopped her when she made her way through the dungeon door. But I knew she wasn’t alone.

It’s a little while before she storms out. Her arms swing furiously at her side as she stomps across the grass and back into the house.

“What are you doing?” Carla appears at my side.

“Nothing.”

She scans the grounds from my hiding spot. Screwing her face up. “Are you keeping an eye to make sure Quinn doesn’t escape?”

“You caught me.” I mutter, leaning against a tree. She didn't need to know what I was really doing.

“He won’t get out, will he?”

“It’s better to be safe than sorry.”

“Are you upset about Blue?”

“Of course I am. I would be annoyed if I wasn’t.”

“It’s not like that. I know a lot of the things she has been through. This can’t be easy for her. And be

shit...I was hoping Xander got to move on and has his happiness with Carla! not this again between jaxon and Xander and now triplets. it's like we're going backwards. frustrating.
