Blue
Fuck! They did know!
I feel Bree’s hand tighten around my arm. We have had this conversation multiple times. She knew that me being a Rogue wasn’t good.
“Have you ever been in a pack?” Jaxon asks quietly. His blue eyes flickered between me and Xander. His eyes had a slight grey mist to mist to them. Xander’s too.
“You don’t need to have a conversation in private.” I mutter. “You’ve figured it out. So reject me.”
Jaxon presses his lips together. His nostrils flair just a little. Enough to show he was annoyed.
“I am what I am!” I growl
"You didn't answer my question. And don't spin some shit about Dark Crescent. I won't buy it."
“How did you end up a Rogue?” Xander has his head tilted as he watches me “It wouldn’t have been killing the human, even if that is forbidden.”
Jaxon scratches his chin and runs his hand through his neat blonde hair. He turns towards his brother “How the fuck were you right?”
“I’ve already told you it doesn’t matter. But we have a choice to make now. Reject her or try to trick father into believing she is an ordinary wolf.”
“I don’t want to die. I don’t shift. I don’t even act like a wolf. I can live here peacefully and carry on as usual.”
A snort comes from Jaxon. “You don’t act like a wolf? You just growled at me. Humans don’t do that.
“Tell me how you became a Rogue. Then I will decide.”
“Excuse me, I think I have a say in the matter.” Xander snaps. They didn't agree about me, that much was obvious.
There was something else going on between them. The way Jaxon spoke to Xander, I didn’t like it. It was like he was trying to be more forceful. Trying to figure out a way to make himself look better. The suits, the perfect hair and teeth, the money. Even down to him trying to demand that I shouldn’t work. If they didn’t reject me, I would be walking into a nightmare.
“If I tell you, I’m as good as dead.” I mutter
“You will be as good as dead if our father finds out what you are.” Jaxon snaps and I watch as Xander puts a hand on Jaxon’s shoulder.
“Not the way.” He mutters, moving his gaze to Bree.
“She doesn’t know either.” I’m up and on my feet, creating a barrier between her and them. Bree whimpers, realising what is happening. She may have all the confidence in the club but not here, not with these men. “Leave her out of this!”
“Blue. This will be better for all of us if you just tell us. The wolfsbane was bad enough. But if you tell me why you are Rogue, maybe we can help.” Xander tries to give me a reasurring smile but it doesn't meet his eyes.
“Does it matter? You are just going to lock me away anyway.”
Jaxon frowns, but his tense posture relaxes. “I have no plans on locking you away. I want you to be by our side as our pack grows. We have big plans for Black Moon. We need a Luna to help with that. But it all comes down to you Blue."
“I’m not ready to talk about it.” I hated talking about that part of my life, just as much as I hate talking about what Bree’s brother did to me.
“We need answers.” Xander mutters, but his blue eyes are full of pity. How could they be twins and yet be so different?
“I need to sleep. Can you go!” It wasn’t a question. I was exhausted from all their questions.
“We will go.” Xander gives me a small smile as Jaxon glares at him. “We are not going to get answers from her if she is tired.”
“Fine, we will return tomorrow at the club to see what this ‘party night’ is all about.” Jaxon leans in close. “No games, Blue.”
I look at the clock, it was almost two in the morning. After they leave, Bree just stares at me, trying to figure out what to say.
“You don’t have to say anything. I already know this isn’t going to end well.” My shoulders drop from the weight of knowing what will happen.
“They know we are close.” Bree mutters, “They’re using our friendship to get to you. They know you will do whatever needs to be done to protect me.”
“I know.” She was just telling me what I already knew. It was obvious that they would. She was an easy target. She was human.
“So, if they are going to try and get information, what can I tell them?”
“Nothing. They know that I was attacked. They know I killed a man. They know I poison myself. They know I’m a Rogue.”
“They don’t know why. I don’t even know why.”
“I tell you everything Bree, but not that. It’s not even my fault.”
She gets up from the chair to give me a hug. But I step away. I felt horrible for even putting her in this position.
“It’s not…”
“Blue, I know you. It’s fine. Go get some sleep. I’m sure tomorrow is going to be hard enough.”
I walk down the hallway to my bedroom and slowly close the door. Sliding down the wall, I sit on the thinning carpet and silently cry. I had held everything together for so long and just like that, everything had fallen apart in just over a week.
I had no idea how long I was sitting here for, but when I finally moved to my bed, I crashed.
“Blue. You awake?” Bree flings the door open. “You know it’s nearly midday. Vita is expecting us in an hour.”
“An hour?” Shr rips my curtains open to let in the sunlight.
“To help set up for tonight. Look, I’ve found you my nude tights, they will hide some of the leg scars. And I reckon a black shirt with a belt, like I said before.” She smiles as she rifles through my wardrobes.
“Great!” I mutter sarcastically.
“Go get cleaned up. I will pack your bag.” She prances around my bedroom grabbing my clothes and brushes and anything else that I needed as I head off to the shower.
As I scrubbed myself, I closed my eyes, trying not to look at the ugly scars that littered my body. It was bad enough being able to feel the bumps and thick skin where they had formed.
Quickly dressing, I pull on a basic hoodie and joggers. I could change later, closer to opening time.
Bree was already waiting for me. She hands me a slice of toast and practically pushes me out the door.
The doors to the club were already open and I could already hear Vita shouting at someone about balloons. Bree rolls her eyes and laughs, pulling me inside.
As soon as Vita spots us. She waves us over.
“Vita why am I scheduled? I don’t do these nights.” I mutter, glancing around at the chaos.
“Exactly why I’m putting it on. I think I have an idea of how to get those Black Moon twins to reject you.”
“You do?” I ask surprised, thinking about what Xander had said the night before.
“Show them your scars.”
“I don’t….”
“Listen to me, Blue. They will want someone with a perfect body. As all Lycan’s do. Show them. They will soon reject you.”
“The other customers won’t like it.” I mumble. The other girls would hate me if their tips dropped because of me.
“It will be dark. You know as well as I do, the Lycans will be able to see in the darkness.”
“I don’t show my scars to anyone.”
“Just one night. Then you can go right back to what you were doing.” She bustles away and Bree just shakes her head.
“Why would she do that to you? I’m starting to think the twins were right about her. I mean, I have been telling you for months.”
“Maybe she has a point.” I mumble. I couldn’t stand to look at my own scars, let alone show them to an entire club.
“Blue, you don’t back down for anyone.”
Vita keeps us busy. Setting up props, moving tables. Why she just didn’t get some of her pack to do it, I will never know.
“Hey, it’s time to change.” Bree nudges me. “What are you going to do?”
“Black shirt,” I mutter and she gives me a smile.
“Never let someone make you do something you don’t want to. You know that.” It was alright for her to say that. But I won't have a choice soon.
As I’m about to head into the back, Jaxon and Xander appear. The security guard just steps out of the way for them. Even he knew that he wouldn't be able to stop them. They both nod to me and head straight for their usual booth as Bree tugs me out to the back.
Changing in the cubicle, I pull on the tights and I am so grateful that they hide the scars. I fasten a belt around my waist over the black shirt and check that everything is hidden. It was the best I could do.
Heading out, I slip in with the other girls and Bree smiles at me. “You look fine. I can’t see anything.”
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING?” I had never heard Vita shout before. Her fingers wrap around my wrist and she pulls me away from the other girls. “You are not wearing that!”
“I can’t wear the other outfit, Vita. I just can’t.”
She drags me into the office. “You want rid of them, you do it my way. Remember who I am, Blue.”
“You’re not my Luna, not yet.” I stutter, surprised by the way she was reacting.
“So this is how you are going to repay me.” Her dark eyes are wide and she flattens her salt and pepper hair.
“I don’t understand.” Why was she suddenly becoming so aggressive? She had always looked out for me.
“Take the shirt off!” She demands, grabbing hold of the front of it. The buttons popped open and the only thing keeping it on was the belt.
“Stop, Vita. Why are you doing this?” I cry, startled.
“I’m trying to help you!”
I try smacking her hands away. But she was quicker than me and much stronger. She half rips the shirt from my shoulders and tears the tights from my legs as I beg her to stop
The door swings open, smacking Vita in the back and knocks her sideways. Xander stares at me. His eyes linger on the scar poking out the top of my bra. His eyes move south as he takes in the ragged scars on my stomach, my arms and my legs. He slowly turns his attention to Vita, his blue eyes darkening.
Jaxon pulls off his suit jacket and wraps it around me. He quickly fastens the buttons, covering up my body.
His morning dew scent hits me hard and somehow it brings me comfort. His arms slide around me, holding me tightly as my body tenses from his touch. “It’s okay, I’ve got you.”
BlueI hated his touch. He thought he was doing the right thing by wrapping his arms around me, but I freeze, waiting for him to let go. He keeps telling me that I’m okay, but the longer he held me, the more I thought I would scream as the memory from that night comes flooding back.“Let go Jaxon.” I just about hear Xander over the throbbing beat of my heart.“She’s panicking. She’s holding her breath.”“She doesn’t like being touched.”“I’ve got her joggers.” Bree comes towards me. Her eyes rise upwards. “Let her go. She’s going to pass out else.”Jaxon’s arms release me and I stumble forward, righting myself.“Put these on and sit.”She hands me my black joggers and pulls a chair out for me as I try to calm my breathing. What the hell had happened?Bree and Jaxon watch me in silence. Xander had Vita pinned to a chair. “Thanks.” I mutter as I feel the jacket around me.“Are you okay now?” Those blue eyes stare into mine, searching for some kind of answer.“Why Vita? Why did you do th
XanderIf Blue had said no. We wouldn’t have left anyway. Jaxon had already said that he would find a way for us to stay with her for a few days. It was why we already had spare clothes and things in the car. Vita just gave us the perfect reason.Blue helps the human lock up as Jaxon and I wait out front. “Is there ever a time you don’t get your way?” I mutter sarcastically as I lean against the wall.“Fate, brother. You have to admit that if it wasn’t for Vita, we would be spending time fighting to make her our mate. At least now, she has agreed to this deal.”“Look, don’t get me wrong. I am curious about her, but at the end of the day, she is still a Rogue and we can’t change that.”He cocks an eyebrow at me “Why can’t we?”“Rogues are Rogues for a reason, Jaxon. You know that as well as I do.”“What if the reason she is a Rogue isn’t because of something she did?” He challenges me.“What?”“Her parents. Both of them would have been wolves, right?”“Well yeah, but what’s that got t
JaxonRunning into the hallway, I find Bree sat back against the wall crying. Xander was trying to hold Blue’s shaking body still as he muttered under his breath.“What’s happening to her?” But it’s only as I move closer that I see the foam in her mouth. “Wolfsbane.”I have seen this time and time again. It’s what eventually happened when a wolf had been dosed with two much of the poison.“What do we do?” Xander shouts at me. His blue eyes wide in fear“I don’t know.”“Do something!” Bree cries“There is no reversal for this. How did she take so much?” We had been with her the entire time.“The water, it’s in the filtered water.” She cries at meRunning to the kitchen, I grab the near empty jug from the side and take it back to Bree as Blue continues to convulse.“How full was it?” Her eyes are wide as she stares at the jug. “Bree, how full was it?”“Full” she muttersBlue had drank nearly two litres of the water/wolfsbane mix“Xander. There’s nothing we can do.”“We have to do some
Xander“Are you certain? Midnight?” I ask Bree again“Yes, but it’s…”“It’s what?” “She doesn’t like talking about it. The other kids in school used to bully her over it. Making stupid comments about her being a vampire or if she howled at the moon.”“I assume they didn’t know what she is?” Jaxon mutters.“No, only me. But that was way before she could shift anyway.” Bree drops her eyes to Blue. “She will hate me for telling you this.”“Not at all.” I tell her, but she didn’t believe me and I didn’t blame her.“Ava Midnight.” My brother’s voice is low as he stands over her. “How many other siblings does she have?”“Just Antony.” Bree replies.“Male Alpha children are born as twins and triplets.” He glances to Bree“I swear, I’m not lying about this. It’s just Antony.”“And you are certain you don’t know where he is?” He challenges her.“I haven’t seen him. I only know that Blue talks to him now and again. He does not approve of Blue working in the club.” She sighs, “I will tell you
Blue“Huh?” The word came out in a croak. My throat felt like fire, my lungs were tight as I tried to breathe, but did he just call me Ava?“That’s your name, right? Ava Midnight?”I just stare at him, confused as he came into focus. Xander with his chaotic mess of blonde hair leans over me.“Xander?” I splutter his name out, trying to make sense of everything. “Am I dead?” I mutter again. I had to be, I had consumed enough wolfsbane to kill any wolf.I hear a snort from the otherside of the room and Xander flips his head in the direction of the noise, frowning. He smiles at me “No, nearly died, but thankfully, you have been poisoning yourself for that long, your body has been able to fight it.”“I think her head is a bit messed up.” Jaxon appears in front of me. “She’s asked you the same questions three times now.I blink a few more times, trying to gather my thoughts. “Bree?”“See.” Jaxon murmurs. “Ava, we need answers.”“Not now!” Xander snaps at him. “Give her a break, she's been
JaxonBlue was starting to drive me nuts. I could barely think straight when I was around her. Every word, every refusal, her denial, it was all grinding on my last nerve and yet I knew that I needed her. I wanted her. I was desperate to have her.Sitting in the car for a little while, my phone starts ringing.“Cece?” I mutter into the phone as I pick it up. She was the only one who rang me. She was always paranoid that someone would be listening in to our private mind link conversations. I hadn’t had the heart to tell her that the phone would be much worse.“Jaxon, where are you?” “I told you, we are tracking our mate.”“You’ve found her haven’t you! It’s why you and Xander have hardly been home.”“Yes. We found her.”“Well, what is she like? Are you going to accept this one? When are we going to meet her?”“You can’t say anything to father.”The line goes quiet. “She’s not a Lycan is she?”My pause confirms her suspicions. “Please tell me that you are not mated to a human.”“Not a
Blue“Is that some kind of threat?”“He made me get rid of all the wolfsbane” Bree whispers and I glance to Xander looking for confirmation. He nods his head.“We will help you during the next full moon,” He gives me a small smile. He didn’t believe that he could, after all, Lycans can shift when they want. They weren't forced too like I was.I pull the cord of my hoodie tight around my face and tucked my legs up under me. It had been years since I had shifted. “You don’t need to be afraid of your wolf.” Jaxon mutters quietly. I never knew where I stood with him. If anything, it was like talking to a bipolar Lycan. One minute he was threatening me and the next he was trying to be kind. At least Xander wasn’t like that. With Xander, you got what you saw.“It's not my wolf that I am afraid of.”“I can’t change what happened in the past, but we can teach you to protect yourself.” Xander stares at me with those amazing blue orbs.“The week isn’t up yet.” I was still determined to hold my
Xander“I mean it, boys. You have done some dumb shit in your time, but this takes the piss.” My father stands there, glaring at us. A deep frown exaggerating his thick forehead wrinkles.“Father, this is our mate!” Was Jaxon really standing up to him?Blue had been on the edge of the seat, ready to get out of the car. My fathers stern tone changed all that. She sits there, shaking her head at me.“I don’t care, you have rejected the others. Now reject her!” He turns to face me. “I thought you of all people would know better.”“What is that supposed to mean?” I snap, confused.“You know better, Xander. Why are you going along with this?”“Because it wouldn’t matter if I wanted to reject her. Jaxon refuses too, so where would that leave me?”“She isn’t stepping foot in this house. WE are Black Moon, a Lycan pack. This is no place for a wolf and I will not have her as part of this family.”“Reject me.” Blue’s quiet voice comes from inside the car.“Listen to her, sons. I can’t believe I
Blue Jaxon laughs at me as I waddle back from the bathroom for what seemed like the millionth time today. “It’s not funny!” I snap. “I wasn’t laughing.” “You try having a pup use your bladder like a bounce house.” “I will say no more.” But I could see the little glances he gave me. Trying to keep his laughter contained. He will be quiet if he knows what's good for him! Anika grumbles Jaxon accompanies me outside. I knew he was worried about me falling. My balance still wasn’t perfect since I had come out of the coma four days ago. But Jaxon had been right, everything was calm. “What are we going to do about Black Moon? The land is empty.” I ask quietly “Xander wants it. Just like he has always said.” “And you don’t?” “My place is here. Next to you and our pup. I thought that leading a bunch of Lycans was what I always wanted. But now, I want nothing more than to stand next to you and our children.” "Children?" I hadn't thought that far ahead. It was impossible to think of
Blue“Blue, say something, anything, please!” Carla begs me. I was trying to concentrate. Anika was fighting to keep the connection between Luna Charlotte and I open.It was funny. Only moments ago I was desperate to keep her out. Now I wanted her to feel everything.I could feel her anger, her rage as she moved forwards. Get ready! Anika muttersI could see the trees moving, like something large was making its way through them. I hold my ground as Carla continues to beg for me to move.“Carla, if you don’t want to be here. Go inside!” I snap, keeping my eyes locked on the moving trees. She was getting close.“What about you?” I could hear her desperation.“I have Anika.”“That’s not enough!” She pulls on my arm again. She knows what I’m capable of, right? Anika is smiling“This is it, once and for all. Either she dies or I do.”Carla lets go of my arm. She stands next to me and I hear how her bones crack. “I made a promise that I would stand with you. Blue, just know that I am will
BlueHer voice echoed inside my head. “You think you can outsmart me, child!”I could see Jaxon’s eyes. He was tugging at my hands, trying to pull them away from my face.“Talk to me, Blue.”How is she doing this? Anika screeches inside my mind. The mark was from Luna Charlotte, it had to be if she could link me. But how? I didn’t think a woman could mark another.I stare at the gashes in my hands, blood pooled in my palms as Jaxon tries to pull me to my feet.‘Anika, block her the fuck out!’ I growl at my wolf.It takes a few moments and then there is silence. She isn’t happy. Anika whispers‘I don’t give a shit.’I flash my eyes up to Jaxon. “What is she?”“I don’t understand. Are you okay? What the hell happened?”“What is your mother?” The flesh on my hands slowly knits together“She’s a Lycan like me and Xander.”I shake my head at him. I had felt her power. Marking me wouldn’t have allowed my palms to slice open. She had to be something else. She’s trying to break through! Anik
JaxonThe next few days, everything was quiet. The wolves had nothing to report and even Xander had stopped sulking. The problem was, it was too quiet. Ryan had stopped replying to my messages and no matter how much Blue tried to reassure me, I couldn’t help being concerned. Something wasn't right.Blue sat with her legs crossed under her. Cradling the little rounded belly that had appeared on her small frame. She raises an eyebrow at me as I move back and forth.“You’re stressing.” She mutters.“You would be too if you were in my shoes.”“It’s not you that your mother wants. It’s me. She wants to punish me for killing Jack.”“Blue, how are you so calm?”She looks down at her small bump and smiles “You should hear some of the things Anika is saying. If I wasn’t pregnant, things would be alot different. Trust me.”“Anika would go to my mother?”Her odd eyes flick up to mine. “I’m not going to tell you what she is saying. I don’t need you following her ideas.”“I can always ask her mys
Blue“A war?” Xander murmurs, “You want to kill my mum?”“Xander, just let her have Black Moon. We lost it when the pack died. There is nothing there for us anymore.” Jaxon tells his brother but Xander starts shaking his head.“Do you know how hard I have worked for that place? You may not want it anymore, now that you have a Luna hanging off your arm, but that place is mine.”I give him credit. Anika laughs. But you can’t win a battle without a pack.I repeat Anika’s words to Xander. He shakes his head in annoyance. “You can help me, Blue. You and your wolves.”Carla’s eyes dance between us. She was choosing not to say anything as Xander’s temper was rising. “I told you, we don’t leave the pack. Luna Charlotte is more than welcome to try and set foot on my land.” My wolves were more than capable of taking her out. I had watched them tear Jack apart like he was nothing more than the newspapers he liked to read.“You have to leave at some point.” Xander throws his hands up in the ai
XanderCarla comes running through the forest to find me. She looked worried. Her eyes are wide as she crashes into my arms.“What’s wrong?”“I don’t know.”“Is it Blue?”She nods her head at me, “I think so, maybe. She told me everything about Jack. Jack was hanging around by the stream, the one that separates Black Moon from Red Moon. I should have warned her. I should have gone back to her.”“Did you speak to him?”She shakes her head at me. “He didn’t see me. He looked like he was on some sort of mission.”“I need to let the others know.”Carla comes with me as we race to the house looking for Zane and Ryan. Jaxon was blocking my link, no matter how many times I yelled at him.“What’s wrong?” Zane asks, looking between Carla and I. “Is it Blue?”“What is Jack up to?” I demandSomething just felt off by the way he was looking at me.“What do you mean?” Zane mutters, not quite meeting my gaze.“Why is Jack going after Blue? She is already mated. She is happy with Jaxon.”It’s Ryan t
Hey everyone, I hope you are all well or at least better than I am. I was planning on releasing a chapter today but today my Lupus illness is not doing me any favours and for those that don't know, it makes it difficult for me to look a computer screen for longer than a few minutes. Making it impossible for me to edit. And I don't want to make myself any sicker than needs be. I can't promise there will be a chapter tomorrow either. But if I'm feeling better I will try and get one out for you. Take care and I will see you on the other side.
Blue.He wasn’t supposed to find out like this. He shouldn’t be here. The wolves were not supposed to let him through.“Are they yours?” He asks quietly. His eyes shift between Carla and me, trying to figure out who they belong too.I could do little more than nod my head.Pregnancy tests. I had taken three just to be sure. Each result didn’t make me feel any better. Carla’s words hadn’t made me feel any better. It was just such a shock. I didn't think it was possible. He wraps his arms around me. “You should have said. Is this why you ran off?”“Tell him.” Carla mouths at meShe’s right Blue, you need to tell him.“There’s something I need to tell you.” I whisper and he holds me at arms length.“The pup is mine, right? Blue, please tell me that it isn't...”“Yes it's yours. How could you even think that I would have slept with someone else?” I frown at him as I push him away.“Jaxon, for once in your life, just listen!” Carla snaps at him“What’s wrong?” He sighs, sitting on the bed
Jaxon.“What the fuck did you say to her?” I stare at Jack. She was fine until he started shoving his nose in.He peers over his cup, a sly smile on his face. “I have no idea what you are talking about.”“Jack, what have you done?” My mother asks as she finishes her breakfast.“Nothing.”Our mother scowls at him. “Jack, I know you. I have raised you. What have you done?”He turns to look at me. “I told her that she could have something more. That I could offer her a better life, an actual pack could be hers.”"She has a pack!""Of wolves!" He snorts“She is my mate!” I growl“And she is Xander’s too.” He mutters back and gives me a wink.“Jack, she isn’t yours.” Our mother whispers and for some reason, she wasn’t looking Jack in the eye.“Not yet.” He locks eyes with me.“Not ever and now she has taken off. So bravo Jack, you scared her away.” I give him a sarcastic applause.“She’s run off?” His smug smile quickly disappears from his face.“What did you expect to happen? Did you hope
