A week had passed since the brutal attack on the Woodland Pack. The injured warriors had recovered, their wounds now scarred reminders of the trauma. The pack had laid to rest the two fallen wolves, their memories honored in a somber ceremony.

However, the tension within the pack remained palpable, a heavy fog that clung to every surface. Carolina's venomous words had infected the air, spreading dissent.

"Nathaniel's distraction is evident," Carolina declared, her voice dripping with malice, during a gathering of senior pack members. "His infatuation with the omega has clouded his judgment."

Nathaniel's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. "That's enough, Carolina."

But she continued, relentlessly. "If he hadn't been so enamored, perhaps he would have anticipated the attack. Perhaps our pack wouldn't have suffered such losses."

Kilo stepped forward. "With all due respect, mom, that's unfair. Nathaniel's leadership saved countless lives."
