It had been two days since Hazel visited the healer, yet she hadn't gotten any vision.

She tried all she could. She drank a lot of milk to induce sleep. She exercised to make her body weak. Everything one could think of to fall asleep. But nothing happened.

She was having a terrible episode of insomnia. Sleep was a luxury she couldn't get.

Her eyes had large circles. She looked like a panda as she moved around her room trying to find a way out of her dilemma.

The time Raglan gave her was elapsing at a fast rate. She could literally see her death coming and she was helpless.

What could she do?

The healer had said they could only make a move if she had a dream yet no dream came. No vision came. It was just her and her mind caving in on her.

"Madam?" Her maid's voice broke through Hazel's mind.

She snapped out of her thoughts and looked at her. "Yes..." She squeaked.

"Forgive me but may I say something?" The plump woman said.

Hazel looked at her from head to toe and wondered what she cou

As Micah approached her, Hazel wondered how she was going to make him drink the water without it being suspicious. From the window, she could tell she had seen that she had just a couple of hours left before midnight.Micah got closer and wrapped his large arms around her. Despite her situation, her body melted into him like it was the first time they were touching each other."Have you had something to eat?" His husky voice drummed against her skin as he looked into her eyes.Hazel smiled leaning into him, "I have yet to starve for you..." She whispered.Unable to control his urges, Micah crashed his lips against hers. Shards of current burst through them as they held onto each other kissing and licking with passion so strong, the room heated up.Micah opened up the robe she had on and slipped his fingers into her naked skin."Why can't I ever grow tired of you?" Micah whispered as his fingers trailed over her body, leaving little flames of desire at their keep.Hazel could only mo

The pleasure she got from Micah's hands on her lady parts, gradually diminished till there she felt nothing. Hazel almost yelped with joy as Micah lay motionless on her body. His whole weight was on her as he fell into a deep sleep. He had fallen asleep on her with his lips on hers and his tongue which had been exploring all the nooks and crannies of her mouth still inside her. Hazel lifted her eyes to the window and from the brightness of the moon, she knew that midnight was just around the corner. With an intense feeling of anxiety in her, one which made her bladder suddenly become full of warm liquid, Hazel started to think of a way out of her current situation. When she and Shana were making their plans earlier on, none of them had factored in the possibility that a two-hundred-and-fifty-pound man would collapse on her in a deep sleep. Her heart raced wild with anxiety and fear and nothing filled her head but panic at the thought of missing her opportunity to free herself fr

The figure said and a warmth that Hazel could not explain washed over her and warmed the cold chill of fear that had seized her body.Shana's deep voice was like a soothing balm and it eased the tension that had piled up in Hazel's chest.Slowly, Shana removed her hand from over Hazel's mouth."You scared the living daylights out of me!" The two women snuck under the dim light of the moon. They were two figures moving amongst the shadows. They stopped walking and had now resorted to running to save time.Their footsteps made noises on the earth as their feet slapped the ground in their haste.Hazel tried to keep up as best as she could with the plump woman leading the way.Not only did the limp she had because of the wound on her foot slow her down, but the plump woman was unbelievably fast for her age and size. It took Hazel a whole lot of effort for her to keep up with Shana. Her leg still hurt but she limped her way. Every time she stepped on the injured foot by mistake, a sharp pain shot from her feet, through her spine and ended in an explosion of pain in her brain. The pain was much but it did not stop Hazel. She knew the pain she would feel if she had to leave Micah or if she failed and her father lost his life was a trillion times more than the pain she felt in her leg and that was what kept her going.Threadi

As if she was under a spell, Hazel unbuttoned Micah's shirt from her body, both her hands working to take apart the buttons one after the other while her eyes were fixed on Shana's back at the table. 'What have I gotten myself into? ' Hazel kept on asking herself over and over again. 'Why is there an altar? Am I a sacrifice? ' Hazel asked herself. But despite her apprehension as to what was going on, Hazel removed her hands from the sleeves of the shirt she was wearing till she was totally naked. Then following the instructions Shana had given her, she walked slowly to the large stone bed which was the altar. She first sat on the edge. The cold, dampness of the stone biting into her naked flesh. Then slowly, she lifted her legs off the ground and placed them on the altar before finally lowering her head onto the hard surface. Her soft warm body against the cold, hard surface was not the right fit but Hazel did not complain. She did not even utter a word. Her head faced upright

His screams continued, getting louder with each passing second. The screams came from both her father and Micah as they were engulfed with fire."What is happening? What is happening?!" Hazel asked aloud to no one in particular as she watched the two men she loved the most writhe in pain as they were roasted by fire."Shana?! Shana?!" Hazel called out but the only response she got was louder screams from the two men before her.Hazel ran from side to side, joining the cacophony of screams with her own as she wondered what to do."Someone help!" She screamed at the top of her lungs but nothing."Dad?! Micah?!" Hazel called out to the writhing men but it was as if her voice caused their pain to get much worst because their cries and screams increased.Hazel dropped down to her knees and covered her ears in her hands trying to drown out the screams but it was to no use."Ha ha ha!" Hazel could hear herself screaming and it was the sound of her scream that jerked her back to consciousness. Her eyes flew wide open to a reddish-yellow gleam. With her chest heaving and with her panting for breath, her eyes traveled around the room till they rested on a familiar face."Welcome back," Shana said but her face did not show the joy of welcoming someone. The response Shana got from Hazel was the flow of warm tears from her eyes.'It was all a dream,' Hazel thought to herself.'I had just been dreaming,' she added in her mind to console herself. And although she reassured herself with those words, something in her mind made her feel she was wrong.Because why could she still feel the warmth from the fire that had been burning? And why was the pungent, nauseating smell of burning flesh still grazing her nostrils? She was torn between reality and fantasy."Did you see what you were looking for?" Micah was lying down on the ground, totally naked just the way she had left him. But there was something else, something that had not been there when she had left. Micah had burn wounds on his back and he was cradling himself as if he was in pain. "Oh dear Goddess!" Hazel mumbled to herself as tears ran down her face. Then she ran to where he lay on the ground and fell beside him. She could hear him whimper as his body heave up and down from pain. "What happened to you?" Hazel asked her even if something deep in her knew what had happened but she just refused to believe it. Micah did not have an answer for her nor did he acknowledge her presence. Tears ran down her face as she cried seeing the situation he was in. She could not believe that her greatest nightmare had come to pass. "What happened to you? My love!" Hazel kept on asking without getting any answer. She then threw her hands around him in a bid to hug him but Micah let out a wailing scream of pain that caused Hazel

"No!" Hazel's screams resonated through the walls of the midwives' workshop. Against their will, the midwives had lain Hazel on the worktable and had tied her limbs down to the table. One of the midwives took a cloth and started to stuff it into Hazel's mouth to muffle her screams. "Leave her mouth free. I want to listen to her screams," Raglan's cold voice echoed in the room, stopping the midwife. "Please Raglan! You can take my life but let this child live! He is innocent! Please!" Hazel pleaded with Raglan. "I should let the bastard child live?" Raglan chuckled. "I am putting an end to the lives of all the bastards in that family. Including the whore that dared bear him a child," Raglan said with such contempt his face contorted with disgust. Tears spilled down Hazel's face. She couldn't breathe. She knew this was likely going to be her end, but she had hoped she could escape. But she refused to give up on her son. Hazel continued to beg, offering her life in exchange for

"What?!" Hazel squeaked, her face confused as to what she had just heard.Raglan held her by the shoulders his face lit up with a joy that she never believed could exist in the realm of darkness. He shook her as if to wake her from something."Hazel! We are in love! We now have a child on the way! All that's left is for us to get married!" Raglan said trying to connect some imaginary dots.Hazel knew she could not do this. She had endured the past weeks pretending to like him. Getting married to Raglan was going to the extreme and she was not sure she could survive it.With the same speed with which his face had lit up, the joy on his face dimmed out and a sadness replaced the light."You don't want me?" Raglan asked his voice pricking Hazel with the amount of pain that was in it.Hazel sighed. She knew this was not going to be easy. For her to secure what was hers, it was required of her to make certain sacrifices and this was one of them. With a weak smile that did not even touch he

Hazel spent the next twenty minutes thinking and rethinking her plan. 'What if it fails?' she asked herself. She knew that was a useless question to ask herself. She knew exactly what would happen if her plan failed. But there was no way she was going to back down. She placed her hands on her belly, rubbing it. She had to take the risk for the child's sake and his father's. With that in mind, Hazel got up and marched to the bed where Raglan lay lost to the world. He looked much more beautiful in sleep and he looked much less like the evil bastard that he was. Hazel looked at the left side of his chest. She knew he had no heart but she wished he had one so that she would have the satisfaction of impaling his heart just as how he had made her do so to all those Alpha's just for his selfish reason. Raglan was lucky she did not know how to send him to hell, she would have done it there and then. Rather, she got on the bed and started to try and take off his black tunic. It was no

"When you said the entire realm would be present did you mean it?" Hazel asked Raglan as soon as Persia landed in front of the four walls.Raglan turned and looked at her dropping the reins. He could see fear spread all over her face."No, I didn't mean it literally," Raglan said to her. "Those who will be in attendance at the banquet are only royalty and those who matter. The rest will be celebrating it at other places."Hazel nodded, her anxiety was a tad bit relieved by his explanation."Shall we?" Raglan asked and he held out his free hand.Hazel nodded then took her hands off the chariot where she had been holding tightly for her dear life. Her legs were still wobbly from her experience but she willed herself to stand steady. The ride had been a bumpy one and many times, Hazel's stomach threatened to hurl out the contents of her stomach but she fought to keep it down. She clasped her hands once more in front of her and Raglan took ahold of her elbow guiding her down the chariot.

"You look so beautiful," Raglan said looking at her with eyes that were full of admiration."Thank you," Hazel said with a warm smile."So do you," She added and her comments were more than just mere flattery. Raglan looked really handsome even though he was dressed in intimidating attire. He had swapped his usual cloak for a tunic, black as night. Underneath the tunic, he wore what looked like chain mail armor, and in his left hand was a scepter that was shaped like a scythe, one very similar to the grim reaper's.There was something in Raglan's eyes as she looked at him. It was a look she had seen before but not on Raglan and it was weird that he had that look in his eyes as he looked at her.Her heart made a little flutter and she had to caution herself to keep her cheeks from reddening. She had to stay focused. The life of her child depended on it.Raglan also tried his best not to look into her eyes. That was very strange as he had never for once been timid before her or anyone
