Isabeau's POV

Numb.

That's how I felt when Stellan made the declaration. I tried hard to stay calm, tried hard to assure myself that this wasn't really happening but the pleased voices of the men sitting before me made it all clear.

How? How could he do this to me? Why did he do this to me? The questions kept swirling in my head.

"Calm down, Isa. Now's not the time to panic, I'm pretty sure there's an explanation. Stellan already promised he would marry us." Aello tried to assure me but her words did little to nothing.

Why did he make such an announcement? Does he really want me to compete with a female Lycan for his hand in marriage? As if having to sit quietly while a haughty group of old men insulted me and belittled my kind wasn't humiliating enough. I don't care who he is, Stellan has no right to do this to me. This is simply unacceptable!
