ADRIEN.

"There has not been any changes in the last three months," I answered. "As the community ordered, She has not used her powers more. For the wolf, there are still no signs of life, but she says she is fine. She clings to the idea that she is hidden inside her."

"You said this had already happened before."

"Yes, when Estelle arrived in the pack, there was no trace of her wolf."

I cling to that possibility, although my hopes begin to be exhausted.

"What about Gabriel?" Estelle's grandfather asked.

"There are no signs that dark magic is present in his body. It seems that he was not affected."

"His mate must also have helped him."

"Yes, she's a very powerful

I had to run.I wasn't so sure about why I was running off anymore. I had a gut feeling that I should never quit. It didn't matter how exhausted I was to the point that my feet bled. Or how hungry I was which made my stomach howl as if it were home to an evil beast. The only rule was that I should not stop, and if I did, it should be for a limited time as possible. Only when it was dark, and I was somewhere safe, such as the top of a tree or a cave, was I allowed to stop running. I was only doing it because running across the forest after the sunset was impossible. I could also plug in a town and try to stock up on food, but that didn't always work out because I didn't have ample money to buy it so I ended up stealing most of the time.I had to hold

"Enough!" I yelled angrily. The kids around me paused for a few seconds before running around again. In this place, I was as powerful as a flea. Actually, they ignored me much more than fleas could.Bradley, the pack's beta, had requested my assistance because his sister was in labor. Along with his mate, he was in charge of the pack's nursery.Yes, I am a member of a werewolf pack, though I am not one of them.Packs worked in unusual ways. We had an alpha who served as our leader and wielded the greatest amount of power. Then the beta stood beside

The Institute. That place that is full of teenagers and raging hormones was anyone's nightmare. Some could pretend to love this place while others instead openly demonstrated how much they hated it. Adrien was one of those guys. Always complaining and always grumpy. The Institute was dangerous and teeming with predators. Much more because this said Institute was full of supernatural beings who barely managed to live together.Humans were a minority in this place, but other humans felt too special to notice the anomalies. They did not realize that sometimes we shared classes with werewolves. A being so terrifying that they could kill an average human in just seconds. Oh, but arrogance can do more. None of them paid enough attention to anyone other than themselves, so even if the werewolves sometimes showed that wild behavior that characterize

  • The Luna's Sacrifice   Chapter 3

I couldn't open my eyes. Not with the severe headache that troubled me. I tried opening my eyes a few times so I knew I was in my room in the mansion's attic. I had the blankets covering me up to the jaw, and yet I was still shivering from the cold. I could hear the fireplace burning. The fire crackling and the smell of burning wood were unmistakable. When I managed to feel a little better, I looked at everything around me. The room was dark and only the fire lit dimly. I was surprised to notice that Adrien was sitting on the small sofa in my room, totally asleep.I tried to get up, but the pain in my body was much more substantial. I felt burning, my temperature was high, my throat was dry, and my ankle throbbed.I had gotten sick from the rain, it was apparen

Classes passed slowly. Studying was not a problem for me. I loved spending my afternoons studying. My grades were the best in the whole institute and that made me proud. I always sought Alpha's approval and knew that my grades and demeanor were impeccable.Mathematics was my favorite subject but at the time, I was in no mood for numbers. My body still felt a little heavy from the disease and my head was throbbing. I wanted to go home, kidnap Adrien, and hog him for a bit.Maybe watch a couple of movies lying on the couch. Yes, that would suit me perfectly."Have you seen the new physics teacher?" Ainsley whispered from the position she was, right in front of me. "They say he is a beauty."I had heard some whispers about it, but it was a bit off, so I didn't pay much attention to them. However, if she had already managed to get the attention of Ainsley, who usually ignored any kind

"Ha!" I exclaimed, victorious. "I have won against you again.""It's not fair, Elle," Adrien grumbled, pouting and flinging the console control to the other end of the couch. "I'm sure you cheated.""Cheated?" I asked with mock anger. "I don't believe that it's my fault you suck at this game.""That character cheats! You always beat me when you wear it.""It's girl power, honey," I summed up, tousling his hair.We had been on the couch for hours. We went from watching a couple of movies, a romantic one for me and a horror one for him, to playing video games. After spending a lot of time playing with Adrien, I had become quite the expert at fighting games.Which embarrassed him, of course. I would never beat him in a melee fight. I was a weak human, and he was not a typical werewolf. He was the future Alpha, the strongest of all

  • The Luna's Sacrifice   Chapter 6 - Adrien

Adrien.Where the hell had she been? I was going to kill her as soon as I found her.I was well aware that it was a lie on my part, I would never lay a finger on Estelle but I couldn't help feeling annoyed and frustrated as the days went by and not finding traces of Elle.Sure, it had been my mistake to teach her to leave and erase her trace. When we were sixteen, I thought it would be very clever of me to teach her how to hide from werewolves. By that time, I was thinking that Cody was freaking out day after day and that he might become obsessed with Estelle. The frustration of not being able to communicate with his wolf began to pay off with the friend he grew up with.So I showed her, very carefully, how to leave without leaving a trace. I also knew that she had money at her disposal as if unconsciously she was always ready to flee. I knew that her childhood was spent

Wake up.Who's speaking?Wake up, Estelle! There was nothing I could do but obey that insistent voice in my head. I opened my eyes suddenly, feeling a headache that left me disoriented for a few moments. I closed them again because of the light, hissing under my breath. Why did my whole body ache?Someone was hugging me. Who was it? Why was he hugging me so tightly and desperately? He was crying? Why would anyone cry so hard over me?Something was happening.Get up, girl.I heard that voice again, although I had no idea where it was coming from. I blinked a few times, before taking in what was happening."Adrien? What's the matter?" I asked with concern. How did I know it was him? Easy enough. I can recognize his presence anywhere and anytime. It was inevitable for me to recognize hi

  • The Luna's Sacrifice   Epilogue — Part 1

I was sleeping. Yes, I was sleeping peacefully. I did not want to wake up. I felt comfortable, as if I was on a pile of fluffy clouds. I wanted to keep in this state for a while longer. Here there were no fights. Here there were no deaths. Here there was no magic, neither good nor bad. Here, I could be at peace. I dreamed of Mother Luna, caressing my hair gently. She pampered me as if I was her own, rocking me in my dreams, watching for my safety. I remembered having talked with her, although I just could remember her words. I only know that she had murmured that she was going to protect me, even when it seemed that she had left me. She was always by my side. I also dreamed of my mother, who cried bitterly between my arms. As much as I wanted to ask her what happened, I could not understand it. It was as if she was far

Both nodded, waiting for me to explain what they should do. Taking a deep breath, I started crossing the battlefield, ignoring everything around me. Lily blocked the attacks that could hurt us, while Liam healed all the ones he saw pass near us. Allen Samuel was lying on his back, agonising. He was unconscious, his body full of injuries that I had caused him when he was trying to kill me. He was much stronger than Ainsley, so he would endure much longer than her. "Estelle?" Liam asked, not knowing what to do. "They must be sent to the past, that place where Samantha Eleanor lost her life," I explained. I would not have time to talk to Adrien, but I took care that he knew that I left the battle in his hands through our connection. I did not allow him to talk, I did not want to let him know how much I needed it at this moment. And I could not let him know t

"Ainsley!" I shouted, tearing my throat in the process. I saw the movement in slow motion. First the dagger fell from her hand, the sound was recorded forever in my head. Her eyes that's full of panic were fixed in Allen Samuel, as if she could only see him. She seemed to be apologising silently just before her body collapsed. I tried to get up and run towards her, no matter how I was in the middle of the battle. I'm not interested in what happened with Allen Samuel. My body did not react, I was struggling to not fall into unconsciousness. Standing up had cost me, but I was so concentrated in it, I was not interested in my body's current state. I had to get to her, I had to save her. Each step cost me. Each step was eternal. I knew, without a doubt, that I would come too late. I screamed from the frustration, since my legs were increasingly trembling, my vision began to darken and I was not able to take the steps t

  • The Luna's Sacrifice   Chapter 59

I was already warned that there was a sorcerer capable of inhibiting our powers. It was one of the first things that Roscoe informed me since it was dangerous for us. For that reason, the best thing I could do was keep Allen Samuel away from the battle from his companions, but nothing had served. I could only fight against him for a few minutes before we wrapped up the general battle. I was even able to see Cody from where I was transformed, fighting against another wolf, only that he stayed in human form. Lily was healing one of the vampires, which had a rather chilling wound on his arm. Liam was close to them, making sure that no one approached Lily as he protected them. I could not see Ainsley, but that was better. It meant that she was hidden and safe. Soon I managed to notice Donovan fighting melee with several vampires. And Kaos was in the centre, taking care of protecting all of the magical attacks.

  • The Luna's Sacrifice   Chapter 58 — Adrien

Adrien. When the enemies arrived, my first thought was that I had to protect Estelle. I did not know what to do, but I did not want to stay away from her for a second. However, I knew I would have to wean. Allen Samuel is Estelle's responsibility. One that I did not like at all, but it was her. I was watching the twins, who seemed to have fun being on a battlefield. And the only human in the whole place, Ainsley, was hiding among the witches. I saw Estelle fighting with Allen Samuel. My heart almost fell out of my chest when he lunged at her, taking her with him beyond as I could see. I wanted to follow, make sure she was all right and help her in her battle. I wanted to protect her ... I shook my head, concentrating on the battle in front of me. The first thing I saw was those masked men running toward us. They did not hesitate to try to approach us once Allen Sa

  • The Luna's Sacrifice   Chapter 57

Gabriel did not hesitate to get in front of me and protect me from Allen Samuel. He came at the right time, when I thought everything was lost. The dark layer of the ice rippled in the wind. His body looked much more muscular, insurance for the training which he had submitted because of Allen Samuel. He looked at me from the corner of his eye, as he threw a ball of ice at the foot of our enemy. I stared at him for a second, spellbound with vision. He looked much stronger, even frightening. I hesitated for a moment to see him, I was not prepared to find all the changes that it made months apart. He did not look like the guy that I ran after school days, who came into my life and treated me with the utmost sweetness. One who saw me as if he was worshipping me. No. This witch had something that inspired great respect. The magic around him seemed to have life of its own, like a barely contained hurricane.

  • The Luna's Sacrifice   Chapter 56

Three days later, in the middle of the night while I'm preparing myself to sleep, I received the first notice that Allen Samuel approached. Roscoe complied with his words. He warned me that they would arrive at midnight. So I'm in charge of notifying everyone. Thanks to Roscoe and the great work of Gabriel, we were already prepared for the attack so it was quite quick to mobilise everyone. We leave pregnant women, children and elderly in a shelter protected with magic. Kaos was the one who helped me do it, teaching me all kinds of tricks. I gave Miguel the order to stay in the shelter along with Ainsley. He complained, saying that he could fight by our side. I had to convince him. Even if the shelter was protected with magic, it was impossible to leave the other pack members alone. Someone strong enough had to stay, in case something went wrong. In addition to Miguel, we leave a couple of wolves near the shelter wh

  • The Luna's Sacrifice   Chapter 55

Saying goodbye to Margaret was difficult. Most of the pack members were there next to her until her last breath. They all cried and lamented. Maggie was probably the most beloved person in her pack, leaving aside the former Alpha and her son. They all had appreciation for that adorable woman who gave her life to serve her pack. Of course we were hurt more than others. Humans said goodbye to their way of their own, we also had our own customs. Somewhere in the forest, we had mobilised up there despite the dangers. We rested Margaret's body surrounded by daisies, her favourite flower. When the moon shone on it, it was a sign that she was ready to start again, so some of the members began to light the flowers. Her ashes had to reach the moon so that our Goddess could welcome her home. It was a sad and painful ritual, but it had its ess
