"Adrien!" I yelled, chasing after him.
My shirt was soaked with the smell of my blood but I couldn't stop myself. I wasn't as fast as a werewolf. My body was still quite human. The pain also kept me from running faster, however I tried. I couldn't think clearly when I noticed my soul mate abandon me and flee into the forest.
What exactly was he running from? From me? What he had done? I didn't blame him. I knew better than anyone that Adrien would never hurt me on purpose. The reality was that watching him leave hurt a lot more than his claw mark near my ribs.
My legs were a bit heavy, and each step felt like an ordeal. It wasn't such a deep wound but it was enough to stunt my movements. I was feeling much slower than normal but I didn't want to stop my steps. Something told me that if I accepted Adrien running away, I would regret it for the rest of my life.
The night was dark, I heard
Adrien.I always knew that I had to protect Estelle. It was something that was inside me from the first time I saw it. With a certainty that no one could explain, the instinct to protect her from everything and everyone was as natural to me as breathing. In fact, things were simpler when I believed she was only human. When I had the absurd certainty that she would never have to face any danger. She could make my pack respect her. I could watch that no one approached with intentions to harm her. And although I could not always take care of her as I should, no one could say that I did not try with all my might. My father was always a very strict man, but a bit disinterested. He let us go at our own pace, yet he always seemed to be on top of us. Make mischief? That ended up becoming an impossible mission. He would discover us in seconds, as much as Estelle was excellent at covering her tracks. There w
When I woke up, Adrien was sleeping next to me. Watching a werewolf sleep was a compliment, as they generally didn't need to sleep more than a few hours a day and were never supposed to let their guard down. However, Adrien was a lover of naps, especially with me by his side.I had to get ready to go to school, but I wanted to enjoy being in Adrien's arms a little more. I felt so comfortable with a peace that I rarely enjoyed.I felt him stir, knowing that time was beginning to pass and that we had to get ready to go to school. The day that was coming upon us seemed to be much more eventful than usual.Today I will have a serious conversation with my great friend. Maybe I even had to reveal what I am and what her new love interest was. It wouldn't be easy, but I trusted her. Ainsley had to believe me. After all, I am her best friend and the only thing I wanted was her well-being.And if
I had heard once, a long time ago, that certain warlocks could teleport. I never believed that it was true because they said that I needed to be very strong to be able to do it. They said that it was almost impossible, that, since existence, only three witches had managed to do it. One of them was even part of a legend.I remembered my grandfather, explaining to us with much love and patience all the benefits of magic. I also remembered not being overly interested, but Gabriel looked fascinated, so I endured the lesson reluctantly. However, Heath teleported us without hesitation. He didn't even gasp. He didn't look sweaty or pale. In fact, he seemed very nonchalant. As if it were the most natural act in the world. In a second I was in high school. Then I could only feel the darkness around me, the magic felt strange, unruly. My stomach churned, with a sensation similar to that caused by roller coasters.
The wounds on my arms, despite what I expected, began to heal. The fire enveloped me warmly. Delicate and smooth. I felt comfortable, as if I were some kind of wolf made for fire.At first I was scared, terrified. How not to be? I was engulfed in fire. I had to take several deep breaths to process it, while both Health Dominique and Ainsley stared at me.Thanks to the fire, I was able to observe the place with greater attention. It was definitely a basement. The ceiling was high and there was not a single window that could illuminate the place. There were more chains than I thought and it placed all over the place, as if he was prepared to hold at least ten people captive.Ainsley had serious bruises on her face, her arm seemed dislocated and she was bleeding from the chains. I myself had a serious wound on my leg, my arms, on fire, and I had the marks left by the chains on me. I knew I had bruises all over
Gabriel. My whole life changed completely when my parents died. My beloved family was destroyed, leaving me alone and in pain. The nightmares of that day haunted me every night. And it got worse as time passed. I couldn't stop thinking about what happened, blaming myself for not being strong enough to protect my parents. Or at least protect my sister. The attack was brutal and unconscionable. We didn't even know the reason for the attack and why they destroyed everything in their path. For a moment, we were a happy and calm pack. And after that, everything was ashes, screams, pain and blood. It was then, amid the chaos that the attack left, that my Uncle appeared. His hair was brown back then, although it was not difficult for a sorcerer to change his appearance. He looked the same as my mother, only in a male version. Maybe that's why I allowed him to get closer, maybe that's why I agreed to let him be
Gabriel."She's my sister," I replied, tired of having the same argument over and over again. "I'm not going to give up.""You're hurting yourself." He shook his head. "Many years have passed. You should focus on starting your search for your mate.""Mate?" I laughed mockingly. "I'm not interested in something like that.""Come on, Gabriel," he exasperated. "Are you going to spend the rest of your life looking for a person who may not even remember you?""Don't you remember me?" I frowned. "Why shouldn't he remember me?"He became visibly nervous. He started to sweat a little, even the magic around him went haywire for a second.Strange."I mean, if she remembered you, she'd be looking for you," he tried to justify."It does not matter. If she d
"How?" I exclaimed, incredulous.Gabriel shook his head desperately. He was the same again after Roscoe explained the full version of the legend to us. I did not understand anything of what was happening. Gabriel had mentioned that our Uncle had looked after him. Was my brother always in the hands of someone dangerous? And how could he not suspect anything? How come we have ignored this information for so long?Adrien acted very fast. I couldn't correctly process what was happening. One second he was holding my hand and the next he was grabbing Gabriel by the shirt. He even raised him a few inches off the ground. His expression was terrifying, the fury turning his face into a noticeable warning to all. I let out a little cry in surprise. His claws were growing with great speed. Even his fangs gleamed as he growled at him. Gabriel was scared and could understand it. Alphas were terrifyin
"Easy, Ainsley," I murmured in her ear. "Everything is fine, you are safe now." "I put you in danger!" she mourned. "Seeing him attack you was so maddening. I wanted to help you, I wanted to be the one to send you away." "I don't even fully understand how we are here." "He did it," she tried to explain. "He saw the earthquake he was causing and sent us to safety." "I don't understand," Adrien chimed in. Gabriel kept his head down and quiet throughout the conversation. While Adrien stood with his arms crossed and his brow furrowed. I was supposed to talk to my brother, but now I was focused on Ainsley. "What do you mean?" "It's a bit of a human explanation, I don't know how to explain this to you. Let's say there are two people in his body, one of them is Allen Samuel, the evil being who
ADRIEN. "There has not been any changes in the last three months," I answered. "As the community ordered, She has not used her powers more. For the wolf, there are still no signs of life, but she says she is fine. She clings to the idea that she is hidden inside her." "You said this had already happened before." "Yes, when Estelle arrived in the pack, there was no trace of her wolf." I cling to that possibility, although my hopes begin to be exhausted. "What about Gabriel?" Estelle's grandfather asked. "There are no signs that dark magic is present in his body. It seems that he was not affected." "His mate must also have helped him." "Yes, she's a very powerful
I was sleeping. Yes, I was sleeping peacefully. I did not want to wake up. I felt comfortable, as if I was on a pile of fluffy clouds. I wanted to keep in this state for a while longer. Here there were no fights. Here there were no deaths. Here there was no magic, neither good nor bad. Here, I could be at peace. I dreamed of Mother Luna, caressing my hair gently. She pampered me as if I was her own, rocking me in my dreams, watching for my safety. I remembered having talked with her, although I just could remember her words. I only know that she had murmured that she was going to protect me, even when it seemed that she had left me. She was always by my side. I also dreamed of my mother, who cried bitterly between my arms. As much as I wanted to ask her what happened, I could not understand it. It was as if she was far
Both nodded, waiting for me to explain what they should do. Taking a deep breath, I started crossing the battlefield, ignoring everything around me. Lily blocked the attacks that could hurt us, while Liam healed all the ones he saw pass near us. Allen Samuel was lying on his back, agonising. He was unconscious, his body full of injuries that I had caused him when he was trying to kill me. He was much stronger than Ainsley, so he would endure much longer than her. "Estelle?" Liam asked, not knowing what to do. "They must be sent to the past, that place where Samantha Eleanor lost her life," I explained. I would not have time to talk to Adrien, but I took care that he knew that I left the battle in his hands through our connection. I did not allow him to talk, I did not want to let him know how much I needed it at this moment. And I could not let him know t
"Ainsley!" I shouted, tearing my throat in the process. I saw the movement in slow motion. First the dagger fell from her hand, the sound was recorded forever in my head. Her eyes that's full of panic were fixed in Allen Samuel, as if she could only see him. She seemed to be apologising silently just before her body collapsed. I tried to get up and run towards her, no matter how I was in the middle of the battle. I'm not interested in what happened with Allen Samuel. My body did not react, I was struggling to not fall into unconsciousness. Standing up had cost me, but I was so concentrated in it, I was not interested in my body's current state. I had to get to her, I had to save her. Each step cost me. Each step was eternal. I knew, without a doubt, that I would come too late. I screamed from the frustration, since my legs were increasingly trembling, my vision began to darken and I was not able to take the steps t
I was already warned that there was a sorcerer capable of inhibiting our powers. It was one of the first things that Roscoe informed me since it was dangerous for us. For that reason, the best thing I could do was keep Allen Samuel away from the battle from his companions, but nothing had served. I could only fight against him for a few minutes before we wrapped up the general battle. I was even able to see Cody from where I was transformed, fighting against another wolf, only that he stayed in human form. Lily was healing one of the vampires, which had a rather chilling wound on his arm. Liam was close to them, making sure that no one approached Lily as he protected them. I could not see Ainsley, but that was better. It meant that she was hidden and safe. Soon I managed to notice Donovan fighting melee with several vampires. And Kaos was in the centre, taking care of protecting all of the magical attacks.
Adrien. When the enemies arrived, my first thought was that I had to protect Estelle. I did not know what to do, but I did not want to stay away from her for a second. However, I knew I would have to wean. Allen Samuel is Estelle's responsibility. One that I did not like at all, but it was her. I was watching the twins, who seemed to have fun being on a battlefield. And the only human in the whole place, Ainsley, was hiding among the witches. I saw Estelle fighting with Allen Samuel. My heart almost fell out of my chest when he lunged at her, taking her with him beyond as I could see. I wanted to follow, make sure she was all right and help her in her battle. I wanted to protect her ... I shook my head, concentrating on the battle in front of me. The first thing I saw was those masked men running toward us. They did not hesitate to try to approach us once Allen Sa
Gabriel did not hesitate to get in front of me and protect me from Allen Samuel. He came at the right time, when I thought everything was lost. The dark layer of the ice rippled in the wind. His body looked much more muscular, insurance for the training which he had submitted because of Allen Samuel. He looked at me from the corner of his eye, as he threw a ball of ice at the foot of our enemy. I stared at him for a second, spellbound with vision. He looked much stronger, even frightening. I hesitated for a moment to see him, I was not prepared to find all the changes that it made months apart. He did not look like the guy that I ran after school days, who came into my life and treated me with the utmost sweetness. One who saw me as if he was worshipping me. No. This witch had something that inspired great respect. The magic around him seemed to have life of its own, like a barely contained hurricane.
Three days later, in the middle of the night while I'm preparing myself to sleep, I received the first notice that Allen Samuel approached. Roscoe complied with his words. He warned me that they would arrive at midnight. So I'm in charge of notifying everyone. Thanks to Roscoe and the great work of Gabriel, we were already prepared for the attack so it was quite quick to mobilise everyone. We leave pregnant women, children and elderly in a shelter protected with magic. Kaos was the one who helped me do it, teaching me all kinds of tricks. I gave Miguel the order to stay in the shelter along with Ainsley. He complained, saying that he could fight by our side. I had to convince him. Even if the shelter was protected with magic, it was impossible to leave the other pack members alone. Someone strong enough had to stay, in case something went wrong. In addition to Miguel, we leave a couple of wolves near the shelter wh
Saying goodbye to Margaret was difficult. Most of the pack members were there next to her until her last breath. They all cried and lamented. Maggie was probably the most beloved person in her pack, leaving aside the former Alpha and her son. They all had appreciation for that adorable woman who gave her life to serve her pack. Of course we were hurt more than others. Humans said goodbye to their way of their own, we also had our own customs. Somewhere in the forest, we had mobilised up there despite the dangers. We rested Margaret's body surrounded by daisies, her favourite flower. When the moon shone on it, it was a sign that she was ready to start again, so some of the members began to light the flowers. Her ashes had to reach the moon so that our Goddess could welcome her home. It was a sad and painful ritual, but it had its ess
