~Emily~

She told them how they’d picked up goods at the first spot then went to the second one. While they were waiting there the truck pulled up beside them and sat there. She then told them how they’d followed her and Charlotte to their final pick up and blocked them in.

She then remembered how they had gotten out and made up a story about looking for someone.

“They asked your names?” Ellis questioned.

Emily nodded.

“And you told them?” Reymond said.

“Charlotte did.” Emily said sadly.

“What exactly did she say?” Asked Ellis. Emily didn’t know why this mattered but she thought a moment then remembered.

“She said we’re Charlotte and Emily.”

“So. She didn’t specify which one of you was which?” Asked Ellis.

Emily frowned … she didn’t think so. But why would that matter.

“Wait. You think…. Oh no. Goddess you think they were after me??” Emily asked, horrified.

“We don’t know. We’re just trying to put all the pieces together.” Ellis told her.

“Then what happened?” He asked.

~Emily~She had just finished eating the beef stew and cornbread her brothers had brought her. She was still mostly in shock about what she’d found out earlier. The men that shot her used silver. They knew. Silver wasn’t as potent to them as the movies and books would make you think. However it was very dangerous. Just like the limestone in the dungeon, it prevented them from healing. It stayed in their blood stream and wound poison them eventually if they didn’t get a antidote quickly. So her being shot with a silver bullet? That was the equivalent of a human being shot with a regular one. That’s why it was taking her so long to heal. Thats why her shoulder was killing her and looked like it had been through a meat grinder. It’s why her arm was messed up.. it had gotten in her bloodstream. That’s why Charlotte was barely hanging on. It had gotten into her heart. She was so angry, and feeling so guilty. When Ellis wanted to know about the men asking their names… she knew they wer

Lorenzo It had been a few days and Emily was about to get out of the hospital. Charlotte was still the same, no improvements. He knew it was killing Emily. She would be going back to the trial soon. He was torn because he wanted to stay here with her, but he also knew he needed to get back to the pack. He’d only been there for a day before he ran out again. Literally. That was after he had lost his entire mind. He knew something had happened. He knew it had to do with Emily. How he knew that? No idea.. but he ran all the way back to the pack house without stopping. He grabbed his phone and sure enough… tons of missed phone calls and messages. He called her brother and when Brian told him what happened his legs gave way. Luckily his desk was behind him and caught him from all out falling. When he hung up his anger was so out of control he picked up one of the chairs and threw it across the room. Janine heard all this and came to see what was going on. In his inebriated state,

~Lorenzo~ He made it back to Emily’s pack in no time. Looking at her in the bed with all the wires hooked up to her physically hurt. He hated it. And someone was going to pay. She kept going in and out for a while. But he was there when she first opened her eyes. It didn’t last long, pretty soon she was back under again. It took a couple days, but finally she was able to sit up and eat and talk. “Lo you didn’t have to come back.. I know your pack needs you. How long were you home for?” She asked him. Lo smirked at her. “A day.” “But I am going back. Just for a while. You’re right they need to see me. But I won’t be gone for long. I promise.”“All this back and forth has got to be killing you.” She said. “Not as much as hearing someone shot you. Not anywhere near as much as that.” He told her. He noticed some folders sitting on the table. “What’s this?” He asked as he grabbed for it. But Emily snatched it away from him. She put one folder in a bag her brothers had brought

~Emily~ The last few days had not been easy or good. She had left the hospital, came home to the cabin, her arm still in a sling and her shoulder still killing her. Dr. Pavarti had sent some pills home with her for the pain. She had no idea what was going on with Raleigh, or the rogue wolves in the east, or the guys that shot her. No one would tell her anything. Lo had left… he went back to his pack. She understood why. He was an alpha he couldn’t stay with her all the time. He wasn’t even her mate. She couldn’t even tell him the other day that she might not be Nick’s mate for much longer, especially after all this. She wasn’t a scientist. She didn’t know if their mate bond would even trigger if she and Nick divorced and she denounced him. Although they didn’t really need it to did they? They’d loved each other their whole lives. They had a bond that surpassed the mate bond. Now, since she had showed him the paperwork and he’d told her he thought he had met his second mate…

~Emily~She was back in the town hall at her trial. She couldn’t say she had missed this place. Last night after talking with Maeve she couldn’t sleep, even with the pain medicine and sleep medicine the doctor had given her. All she could think about was that the men who had shot Charlotte had most likely been looking for her. It was her fault. Maeve had told her it absolutely was not her fault, and deep down she guessed she knew that but it still stung. And she sure as hell felt guilty. At least she had gotten the information to Ellis that she’d collected. Maybe nothing would ever come of it, who knew. But she had done what she could. Reymond stood up to quiet the crowd. The crowd, which seemed to double in size today. But she also knew a lot of the pack members were there to hear about Raleigh, because it had gotten out that he was in confinement and they all had questions. “If everyone could quiet down and pay attention. I know the past few weeks have been…. Enlightening.. so t

  • The Luna’s Choice    Chapter 92

~Emily~After she left the town hall she went straight to the hospital to sit with Charlotte. Alice went home to sleep a while so it was just the two of them. Alan left and went to take care of the store while Brian stayed back with the council to discuss everything going on. And Maeve headed home to cook some food for everyone. She held Charlotte’s hand and begged her to wake up. She told her all about Lorenzo visiting and how he’d thought he met his second mate. And how it was killing her inside to think about it. She told her how Caron had stood up and basically threw Nick under the bus. And how sorry she was that someone shot her. When she left Charlotte and was walking down the hallway to leave the hospital she passed a room where a man was sitting up in bed watching tv. She stopped. She backed up and peeked in. He saw her and smiled. “Hello Luna”. He said brightly. She frowned because she didn’t recognize him. “I’m sorry you probably have no idea who I am. I’m Samuel.

~Lorenzo~Even though he was back in his pack.. his head and heart were not. He was making mistakes left and right. He did an entire financial sheet on the wrong form.. and his head was pounding from the stress of it all. He couldn’t stop thinking about what Emily had told him. He most likely had a second mate, someone besides her. He wished he’d known that years ago. Maybe he wouldn’t have pined after her for so long. But even now, when he did know, he couldn’t imagine mating anyone but her. If he had known about this a couple weeks ago he would’ve assumed it was Janine. Even though he knew he didn’t want to be with her. But after he met the Hemmings family, and Collins walked down those stairs, he was nearly damn positive she was the one. Fuck. He shoved the papers away. He couldn’t concentrate he needed to go for a run and clear his head. Jarvis poked his head around the corner. “How’s it going in here?” He said. Although Lorenzo was sure he already knew the answer to that

~Lorenzo~“Hello Alpha, Beta, come in please.” Mr. Hemming said politely. “Thank you Cyrus… sorry to barge in unannounced.” Lo said. “Nonsense we’re happy to see you.” Mr. Hemming said. “I was wondering if I could speak to you privately for a moment.” Lorenzo told him, while inconspicuously trying to see if Collins was around. He knew she was there somewhere though he could sense and smell her. “Of course.” Mr. Hemming said although with a confused look. Even though it was freezing, they walked out to the back of the cabin to talk. Lo didn’t want to risk his family hearing the conversation. Werewolf hearing made that difficult. There was a fence out back… it’s where they kept some of the livestock. “Cyrus, do you have any plans for work?” Lo asked, getting right to the point. Cyrus’s teeth were chattering as he wasn’t used to the cold weather just yet. Even though it didn’t bother him as much as it would a human.. his family came from a much warmer climate. “Well I don’t kn

Epilogue Emily The last few months had been the happiest in her life. She was overcome each and every day with the amount of peace and love she felt all around her. The pack had taken to her immediately. Everyone had each others backs here… everyone looked out for one another. There was no backstabbing and no secret plans of takeovers. She wasn’t worried constantly about someone trying to kill her. And .. best of all .. she had Lo. She had him all the time. Gone were the days of him having to leave. No more waiting weeks or months or years to see him. He was always there. She was settling into her Luna duties easily. She had done them for so long there wasn’t much to learn. The only difference was the Crow pack was massive in size compared to Nick’s pack. It was even bigger than her home pack so there was a lot of work to be done. But she didn’t mind it. Emily looked down at her arm.. the small crow tattoo looking back at her. She had gotten it right after the wedding. She sti

Wedding continued Emily Emily could not stop the waterworks that were happening. Tears streaming down her face as she sobbed at the letter. She sat it down beside her and patted it gently while she tried to calm herself enough to look at the dress. When she pulled it from the box, she immediately began sobbing again. She had never seen anything so beautiful in her life. The dress itself was the lightest pinky-tan color on the bottom. It was sleeveless and the top was fitted and covered with white lace and flowers. The bottom was flowy and had several layers to it. The train was long and white and was also covered with flowers and lace. It was literally enchanting. And absolutely perfect. So she had her dress and decorations and food.. now she needed some bridesmaids. ~~~~~~~~~~When the day finally arrived Emily was a bundle of nerves. As a special gift to her and Lo, her dad had gotten ordained and was going to marry them. When he walked into the room where she was getting

THE WEDDING EmilyFor the past couple of weeks, she had been working nonstop planning everything. She wasn’t the type of girl who had to have all the bells and whistles and sparkles, however, she did want everything to be perfect for her wedding. When she had married Nick, she had let Susan and Sophia make most of the decisions. And none of it had been what she would have chosen to do… so this time, she got to do it right. She knew they’d need a large area with tons of seating. People from all around would be coming. Several different packs from near and far would attend. People from her home pack of course, even people from Nick’s pack would come. Lorenzo’s pack would’ve filled an entire valley alone. So the first thing she did was find the perfect spot … and surprisingly.. or not.. it ended up being right outside her new cabin. There was a huge open space on one side of it. The other three sides were blocked off by a mountain, a lake, and a forest.. but the front of her house

Emily Nothing had ever felt as good as this. She didn’t care that sticks and grass were poking into her back. She stared up through the trees to the stars in the sky.. or maybe that was just her vision because she was losing herself. Lo continued his onslaught with his tongue. He licked and sucked and kissed.. he added a finger, then another. She couldn’t be still. It was too much .. it felt too good. She squirmed and whimpered and cried out. “That’s it baby…” he said. Then he went back in… attacking her with his mouth. He slowed down then. Torturing her. But goddess it was good. He lazily flicked at her with his tongue.. every so slowly … growling and causing vibrations as she climbed higher and higher. “Loooo…” she breathed out. “Mmmmmm” he hummed into her. Her body began to shake as she kept going higher and higher. He picked up his speed.. he added another finger. His other hand held her open as he kept going faster and faster and faster…. She went over the edge. She

Emily Emily couldn’t wait to see Lorenzo. Being away from him for two weeks was killing her. Of course she had enjoyed her time at home. She loved seeing her dad and Brian and Maeve and June. She had gotten to snuggle little Charlie … and it was as if Charlotte was there with her. She wished they could all live in the same pack together. Her and Lo, their children… her brothers and dad and Maeve and now the baby. And Juniper of course. If she could just have them all with her every day.. it would be a little piece of heaven here on earth. She got to tell Andrew that he was officially adopted. They both hugged each other and cried. He asked her if that meant he could call her mom now .. and she smiled so big her cheeks had hurt. “Yes Andrew. You absolutely can call me mom.” It had been a beautiful reunion with all her children. But now she was headed back to Lo’s pack.. which would soon be her own. Alan and Collins were returning as well in a couple of days. Alan stayed a lit

Lorenzo Emily had been gone back to her pack for only a couple of days, and already he was losing it being away from her. The hole she left behind was sucking the life out of him. He was moody and felt sick.. and bit the head off anyone who looked at him sideways. She would be returning soon… with the kids. He just had to hold off a little longer. He knew she needed this time with her dad and June and the rest of her family. Alan had gone too and taken Collins. Lo still couldn’t get over how that had all worked out but he was glad. Alan was the best fit for Collins. He knew they’d make each other happy, and he was happy for them both. Alan was one of his best friends and had the biggest heart, just like his sister. He was more like a brother to Lo.. him and Brian. Although Emily never got anywhere near the sister category. But they’d grown up together. The truth was Alan and Collins were a perfect fit. They bounced off each other in the best ways. Alan would bring Collins out o

Emily In the days following her and Lorenzo’s engagement, and their… special time… afterwards, Emily was on cloud nine. She felt a rare peace that she had never had in her life. It was an odd feeling… not worrying, but she was grateful for it. She would be returning home in a couple of days. She had to wrap up some things there and then she would be moving to Lorenzo’s pack… permanently. She was a little nervous of how the kids would do with all the changes. But they could visit her dad and Maeve as much as they wanted to. Speaking of Maeve, Brian had called her that morning with the news. She had gone into labor in the middle of the night, and the baby was here. Emily was so happy for them, they’d both wanted their own child for such a long time. “What did you name her?” Emily asked Brian. Brian paused on the other end of the phone. “How did you know it was a girl? I haven’t even told you that part yet. Emily… did you get one of your feelings about the baby?” He asked nerv

Emily Her breathing was erratic as she watched Lo watching her. He sat up on his knees and grabbed both of her ankles, yanking her back down. She gasped. “Lo…. What are you doing?” She asked him.. reaching up and touching the mark that was still on her neck. He growled. “I know you want to wait Emily. But I’ve got to touch you. I want to touch you. I … NEED .. to touch you.” He ground out. Her body shivered at his words. Want and need exploded as she released a small moan without meaning to. Lorenzo sniffed the air. He looked at her. She knew he could smell her as his eyes began glowing, his wolf coming forward. She made a pained sound then as he ran his hands up her legs and stopped at the elastic of her pants. Before she knew what was happening .. he had jerked them down to her ankles. She gasped. “Lo….” She said. He growled at her. She plopped her head back down… no longer being able to hold it up as he crawled slowly up to her face. He looked at her and smirk

Emily The kiss turned frantic, hungry..Emily was clawing her way up Lorenzo’s body. He was so tall she literally tried climbing up. But then he stopped her…“Wait .. I had a whole speech…” he said. She grinned at him. “Okay. Let’s here it.” She said smiling. Lo got back down on one knee. He took her hand and kissed it. Lo down on a knee was still about as tall as Emily he was so huge. She grinned at him waiting. “Emily Caroline Elkwood. I have loved you my entire life. Even before the mate bond, through it and after it. I’ve always loved you. You’re the best part of every day…. you’re the best part of me. You’re my reason. You have the kindest soul of anyone I’ve ever known and the biggest heart there ever was. As bad as it sounds, I’m glad that rogue pack took mine over so I got to come live with you.”Emily had tears in her eyes as he continued. “You’re the most beautiful creature I’ve ever laid my eyes on … but you don’t even realize it.
