Emily
Emily didn’t know how long she had been in the cell. She couldn’t see daylight and she was only brought one meal a day. This was of course to keep her weak, and keep her from being able to shift. Oh how she would love to shift and be able to run through the woods. Stretching her legs and being out in the open cold air sounded heavenly. Emily’s wolf was beautiful. Her white-blonde hair had nothing on her solid white wolf fur. And she was large. Her lineage made sure of that. Her father had been a very powerful alpha himself. And when she married Nick and became Luna, it only added to her power. A power that she would always keep, no matter what happened. She was lucky in that way, she guessed. Because her family was so strong.. and important. They were the oldest family of wolves in all of the Americas… dating back to the beginning of their kind. Her ancestors had been some of the first. That day she was allowed to bathe, if you could call it that. The guards brought her a bucket of water, a rag and a small bar of soap. Even so, she was glad to scrub off the blood and gunk that had been stuck to her since that night. They brought her clothes as well, because today would be the first day of her trial. As weak as she was, she dressed quickly, anxious to see her children and her family. She knew her brothers would come and support her. Emily’s brother Brian, who was now the alpha of her fathers large and very formidable pack would make the trip, along with his beta, and her other brother, Alan. Her father was too weak to travel so far but she knew he supported her. Her father would burn the world down if something happened to her. Still, someone had to stay back home with her family pack. Not soon enough, the guards came down to get her. They brought her out of her cell for the first time in days, up the stairs and out into the cold, bright, world. It had snowed, and everything was beautiful. Emily had to shield her eyes as she hadn’t seen daylight in so long. They yanked her along hastily, her feet dragging. They went up the hill and headed for the town hall building, where they held meetings… and where her trial would take place. Being in the open air was cathartic for her. After being trapped in that cell for days she loved the way the cold air felt on her face, waking up her body after it had been sleeping for so long. The smells… the smells were hitting her left and right. She could smell the snow, and the timber of the woods. Then she could smell evergreen and cinnamon, and knew her brothers were close by. But then she picked up something else. Emily breathed in deeply. Something heavenly was in the air…. making all her senses come alive and crackle. A deep smell of woodsmoke and spices … it was mouthwatering. Not only that.. it was.. familiar. A smell she knew well, although she couldn’t remember from where or who. Something from her childhood, perhaps. As they came around the side of the building, Emily could see several people standing outside. Some she didn’t know, others she recognized instantly. She saw that Caron, Susan’s husband was there. And her two brothers, Brian and Alan. They ran up to her immediately and she hugged them both at once. But then she heard … “Emily??” She immediately looked up and remembered where she knew that ethereal smell from. She locked eyes with her past.. and said: “Lorenzo”.Lorenzo (Lo)Lorenzo stood watching the side of the building, waiting for Emily to come around. He could smell her, though faintly, the moment he had gotten there. Her scent was strong.. and amazing… by far the best thing he had ever come across in his life. When she was within a few miles of him, he could pick up on it. It was something like fall leaves and cinnamon, with snow and embers of a fire, and then that little something extra that was just her. Exquisite. Werewolf scents were interesting things. Each pack had its own scent.. with each member of said pack carrying those smells along with a little of “them” so each person was individualized. They each had a little something extra to set themselves apart from everyone else. That particular scent couldn’t be described in words though… there was nothing to compare that part of a wolf to. It was kind of like twins, or triplets. They all looked the same, but maybe one had different color eyes… maybe one had a freckle of their
Lorenzo When he had heard the news about Emily it took everything in his power not to tear the world down getting to her. He was barely twenty three years old in wolf years, but he had the power of a decades old alpha. If she had done what they were accusing her of, then she had a damn good reason. Emily was strong.. she always had been. But she had the kindest and most loving heart of anyone he knew. She would never take another life unless it was deserved. She was getting closer.. he could tell. Her smell was getting stronger and the hairs on his arms were beginning to stand up. His body was vibrating and his wolf was pushing on the inside…. wanting to come out. Whereas Emily’s wolf was large and majestic, beautiful, and the most mesmerizing silvery white like the snow color, Lorenzo’s was exactly the opposite. With his shaggy dark hair and light brown skin, his wolf was the blackest of black. And he made about two of Emily, as big as she was. And where her eyes were a gorgeo
Emily She sat there.. shocked at what she was witnessing as Luca, sweet little Luca was standing in front of everyone at her trial, announcing why they were there. She looked over at Nicklaus and began to snarl at him.. her wolf eager. Even though he was her mate.. she felt no love towards him at this moment. He had done this.. he had made Luca stand up there. Hell it was probably Sophia’s idea. That woman was the root of all evil. She turned and looked behind her, seeing Olivia sitting there with Andrew. They both looked like lost pups. Olivia had no idea what was going on and poor Andrew.. he was staring at his dad, Caron, no doubt thrilled to see him after so long. But Caron wouldn’t even look at him. Which caused Emily to further believe that he suspected Andrew wasn’t even his child. She shook her head. What a mess. Maybe she shouldn’t have done what she did. Maybe she shouldn’t have let her feelings and emotions get the best of her.. No. No matter what.. she did the righ
Emily After a few more documents were read and a few more official things were said the director introduced the rest of the council. She recognized two of them, and two she did not. She felt a little put off by the fact there were no women sitting up there… and her fate would be left up to these five men. But what did she expect. Then the director called Nicklaus to come to the front of the room. Emily had such mixed feelings for him at the moment. As much as she hated him, for keeping secrets and lying to her, and the way he had treated her…..and what he was doing to Luca… he was still her mate. And while she certainly didn’t feel the same connection that she once had… or the pull to him anymore.. she still had some love for him deep inside her. Emily reached up and felt the mark that ran up the side of her neck, the one from the bite he had given her when they mated. It used to tingle and spark when either she or Nick touched it but now.. now it was just a dull ache. She look
LorenzoHe was going to kill half of the wolves in this room before it was over with. Starting with Nick… who tried so hard to keep his wife and pack ‘in check’ that he forgot about common decency. He clearly hadn’t even seen what happened between Emily and Susan yet he ordered her to be struck with lashes and to a trial? Not to mention his beta, Felix, who Lorenzo currently was imagining punching his skull in. He spent the entire time they’d been in there staring at Emily. When she finally looked at him he had the fucking audacity to wink at her. Lo almost came out of his seat at that. His teeth began to protrude as his K9’s started to come forward. A low menacing snarl left his throat. A few people sitting around him kept watching him out of the sides of their eyes. He guessed they worried what he might do. But he didn’t care. He was an inch away from losing it and he dared someone to say something. The third man sitting at the table in the front of the room said he had no
Emily. She listened closely to Nick as he tried — and failed — to get out of answering the question. Even though she had been out of it that night, she knew he didn’t test the blood…Finally he acquiesced. “No I did not.”“So….” The man with the glasses was saying “you have no proof that the blood you saw was in fact Susan’s blood. It could have easily been Emily’s blood. Or anyone else’s for that matter… correct?”She could see that Nicklaus was not appreciating the tone he was getting. And he wasn’t appreciating getting questioned either. He clenched his teeth and bit out “correct.” A small win for her, she knew. But she also knew she had a very long way to go. “And did you check your wife’s injuries?” This guy was on fire… she thought. “Her injuries?” Nick asked. “Yes, Mr. Blackforest, her injuries, as it is apparent to me that she had them. Firstly because of the blood .. that you didn’t check.. secondly your description of what you say made it very clear to me that ther
Emily Years ago, when their land had become wolf territory and they built the dungeon, the entrance was built at the far most edge. Then the dungeon itself runs underneath human land… and thank goodness for that mistake. Because it meant she couldn’t stay there during the trial. The rule stated anyone on trial must stay within pack land. And since the dungeon technically wasn’t located inside the lines of the territory, it meant Emily could not, and would not go back there. Thank goddess. They had many empty cabins and cottages for people to stay in, just for instances like these. When they had big events or meetings, people needed somewhere to stay. Some of the houses had been abandoned… by wolves who either found their mates and left to go to another pack.. and some from people that had sadly passed away. Then there were a few that were built so they’d have extra space… again for times such as this, or if a new family became part of the pack. The council would stay in the
EmilyTHE PAST Emily woke up with a smile. It was her 16th birthday today. She couldn’t wait to spend the day with her family and friends. She raised up quickly and jumped out of bed but then suddenly she stopped. She was dizzy and felt sick. Noooo not on her birthday of all days. But something was off, she didn’t feel right. Did she have a fever? Wolves always ran a little hot, but this was something else. She was unnaturally hot and her entire body ached. She laid back down in the bed when her brother, Alan came busting in her room. “Happy birth…… Emily, what’s wrong?” Alan asked her. “I feel sick. I’m feverish and dizzy.” He reached down and felt her head, frowning. Then he looked at her, deep into her eyes and stared there a moment. Then…. he slowly began to smile. “Alan… what could you possibly be smiling at right now? I need medication or something..” she said. He stood up and walked over to her dresser, picked something up then came back to her bed. “Do me a fa
Emily In the days following her and Lorenzo’s engagement, and their… special time… afterwards, Emily was on cloud nine. She felt a rare peace that she had never had in her life. It was an odd feeling… not worrying, but she was grateful for it. She would be returning home in a couple of days. She had to wrap up some things there and then she would be moving to Lorenzo’s pack… permanently. She was a little nervous of how the kids would do with all the changes. But they could visit her dad and Maeve as much as they wanted to. Speaking of Maeve, Brian had called her that morning with the news. She had gone into labor in the middle of the night, and the baby was here. Emily was so happy for them, they’d both wanted their own child for such a long time. “What did you name her?” Emily asked Brian. Brian paused on the other end of the phone. “How did you know it was a girl? I haven’t even told you that part yet. Emily… did you get one of your feelings about the baby?” He asked nerv
Emily Her breathing was erratic as she watched Lo watching her. He sat up on his knees and grabbed both of her ankles, yanking her back down. She gasped. “Lo…. What are you doing?” She asked him.. reaching up and touching the mark that was still on her neck. He growled. “I know you want to wait Emily. But I’ve got to touch you. I want to touch you. I … NEED .. to touch you.” He ground out. Her body shivered at his words. Want and need exploded as she released a small moan without meaning to. Lorenzo sniffed the air. He looked at her. She knew he could smell her as his eyes began glowing, his wolf coming forward. She made a pained sound then as he ran his hands up her legs and stopped at the elastic of her pants. Before she knew what was happening .. he had jerked them down to her ankles. She gasped. “Lo….” She said. He growled at her. She plopped her head back down… no longer being able to hold it up as he crawled slowly up to her face. He looked at her and smirk
Emily The kiss turned frantic, hungry..Emily was clawing her way up Lorenzo’s body. He was so tall she literally tried climbing up. But then he stopped her…“Wait .. I had a whole speech…” he said. She grinned at him. “Okay. Let’s here it.” She said smiling. Lo got back down on one knee. He took her hand and kissed it. Lo down on a knee was still about as tall as Emily he was so huge. She grinned at him waiting. “Emily Caroline Elkwood. I have loved you my entire life. Even before the mate bond, through it and after it. I’ve always loved you. You’re the best part of every day…. you’re the best part of me. You’re my reason. You have the kindest soul of anyone I’ve ever known and the biggest heart there ever was. As bad as it sounds, I’m glad that rogue pack took mine over so I got to come live with you.”Emily had tears in her eyes as he continued. “You’re the most beautiful creature I’ve ever laid my eyes on … but you don’t even realize it. You’re funny. But you don’t know t
Emily She had spent the entire afternoon with her horse, Storm… riding him and brushing and feeding him. She loved that animal already.. she had been telling the kids and her dad all about him during the phone calls. She got word that Lorenzo wanted her to meet him at the house soon. But she wanted to run back to her room at the pack house and shower first. Her crazy purple hair was still wet we she started out. She figured Lo had wanted to ask her something about the furniture or some of the outside work that the builders were finishing up. She had been in jeans and boots all day while riding so she wanted to dress comfortably. She threw on a long sleeved fitted cropped workout shirt and some sweat pants with her tennis shoes. She grabbed her big puffer coat to head out the door when she stopped. Her breathing got ragged as she looked down at her clothes. This was the exact outfit she had on in the safe room…. With Nick….. with Raleigh…She threw her coat down and immediately
LorenzoThe past few days had been the best in his life. His pack was thriving… he was catching up on his work finally …. And Emily. Emily was here. She was leaving soon though to go back home for a while. He hated it … but she had children to see to. She would be coming back in no time. Alan and Collins were going with her as well. He and Collins had sat down and had a conversation the day before. He told her he hoped she understood about everything. How he had always belonged to Emily, no matter who else came along. She was more than fine with it though. Apparently like him, once Alan showed up any residual feelings she had diminished. He was glad of that. She would be good for Alan .. he knew. And vice versa. Alan had always been like a brother to him.. and soon that bond would become real. He was going to ask Emily to marry him. Tonight. He knew she wanted to wait for her divorce to finalize before they really started anything. Or at least anything physical…. She was
Emily Emily was thrilled to find that she and Collins could easily talk. And possibly one day be just as close as Emily and Maeve were. Maeve, who would be going into labor any day now. She and Collins had spent the entire afternoon together talking. Emily learned that Collins had some Native American blood in her. Apparently her father’s mother was Cree. And her mother’s father was too. That’s how they’d met each other. A lot of the wolves came from similar background. She herself had some Cherokee blood. Hester’s father was Cherokee. But if you followed all werewolves bloodline it usually always led back to Native American origins. They just usually weren’t so close. She also found out what had happened to Collins in college. So Emily shared her experience as well. “Goddess!” Collins had said when Emily told her everything that had happened with Nick and Raleigh. But Collins experience had been just as bad, maybe even worse. Because it wasn’t just her boyfriend that assau
EmilySo the rest of the week she has been busy with her new horse. She had ordered a saddle and everything she needed. Lo already had saddles there she could use for now, but she wanted a special one. She named her horse ‘Storm’ because of his beautiful coloring…..he reminded her of the clouds right before a blizzard. She couldn’t wait to show her kids and Andrew and take them on rides. All in all, she was happy.. content… and at peace. The people here were genuinely so kind and polite to her. Lo introduced her to everyone as his mate … which made tingles erupt on her body every time he said the word. They were happy for him, and thankful for her. She didn’t have to constantly be looking over her shoulder, or worry about what someone might be cooking up to hurt her or her family. The entire pack was filled with good people. She found it ironic that some wolves, like Nicklaus, looked down on The Crow pack because it was made up mostly of ex-rogues. But these people weren’t rogues
Emily Emily opened her eyes and stretched. A smile graced her face. She was happy. She didn’t remember the last time she’d woken up every day without worrying about something. But that’s what had happened every single day since she had been in the Crow pack. It had been a week since they’d arrived. A week since Lorenzo declared his love for her and showed her the house he’d built for them to live in. A week since the mate bond pulled them together like nothing she’d ever experienced before. Not even when she met Nicklaus. The house was as breathtaking on the inside as it was the outside. The fireplace alone made her gasp when she had seen it. The kitchen was huge. All the beautiful wood and logs made it cozy and the perfect place to cook meals for her family. Her family … she thought. Lo was her family. There were stainless steel appliances all brand new. Lo had told her they’d just arrived that day and been installed. Of course they needed furniture… but he wanted her
Lorenzo She was crying now. He kissed her forehead lightly. How could she begin to think he was upset over the fact Collins had found her other mate. This was a good thing in his eyes. He was only worried about the awkwardness it would cause for Emily. She was who he was worried about. She was the one he loved….had always loved…. would always love. They would probably all need to sit down and have a conversation at some point. But right now…. He just wanted to show her something. “Come on..” he said, grabbing her hand. “Can you shift now?” He asked her. She grinned at him and nodded. Lo pulled her over under a tree. He started getting undressed. Lucky for him he had worn a pair of shorts under his jeans that day … just for this exact reason. He took off his large sweater and handed to Emily. She smiled at him. He knew she had stolen his T-shirts and liked to wear them. He didn’t mind… he actually loved it. If her clothes would’ve fit even one of his arms… he would’ve
