Chapter 51

REBECCA'S POV

"Mommy!" I cried out in a hysterical cry as if my whole body felt stiff.

How could I not?

I saw my beautiful mother lying lifelessly on the floor of the half-burnt house, while my father could only stare at his wife with sad eyes. The wound on his head continued to ooze blood and my favorite man couldn't even lift a hand.

A moment later someone broke the front door of the house down. Several people entered and one of them-the only woman, took a blanket from the sofa and wrapped my tiny body.

"They're dead!" shouted a man squatting near my parents.

The woman hugged my small body before running out of there, followed by the three men. They ran into the dark forest that was swallowed by the night.

Someone's touch on my shoulder now woke me up, I gasped in shock. It was just a dream. A nightmare that had been disturbing my peaceful sleep lately.
