Rebecca's POV

The night was quiet, there was only the sound of Night animals singing in my ears. The atmosphere around the palace was also quiet because the night was very late and the residents of the palace must have fallen asleep in their sweet dreams.

That night, after I finally failed to escape from Luke, as I was caught again by him, Lucas and I sat on the balcony of our room. We looked up at the dark, starless night sky. It was pitch black, and there was no sign of the moon Gooddes appearing to bless us.

"The sky is so dark, Mom," said Lucas, who had been sitting next to me.

"Yes, dear. But you mustn't be afraid of the darkness. An heir must be brave and must not be afraid of anything," I advised Lucas.

"Of course, I'm not afraid, Mom. I dare anything," he replied proudly.

I smiled happily at that. Immediately I hugged my son tightly, feeling his calm heartbeat against my chest. Suddenly this cold night reminded me of my childhood when I was with my parents.
