Nathan felt his office seat sink further not because of his form on it but from the burden of the pack, his father's death, and the sorrow and sadness residing within him since Kiara's disappearance. Every day of his life was torture, but he can't say he didn't bring this upon himself. Reaching for his tea getting cold every second, he sipped a little of it going back to face his work, piles of Pack work. He was the Alpha, this was his job. The door creaked open revealing the last person he expected in his office, his mother. Since his father passed on she had her appearance with zero makeup, her hair resumed its position in a bun but she seemed too cold now, her blue eyes lacking the lustre of life and the haughtiness always dancing within them. Colder than the former Luna Avery, she was ruthless, he thought it has to do with the grief and hoped this too was a phase. The smirk she had on her face grew as she gracefully walked into his office, drawing a seat for herself she sat dow
She dug her feet into the boot, heaving as she pulled them up to fit properly, her hair sweeping the board. Xander turned his focus, to other things but her, he needed to. Zipping up his jacket, he heard her waddle close to him, a rosy smiling face in view. It was very cold, winter was about to begin and the temperature was dropping steadily. “You are stubborn.“He stated, she scrunched her face at him in the silliest way to rile him up but he found her adorable. “I enjoy being that.“ “You passed out the last time you came out with me, clearly you need to rest more. If you were not so stubborn, you would be hale.“ She sighed at his complaints, “Why are you never cheerful?“ She asks accusatorily. He narrowed his eyes at her, she did think of him to be a nice guy. His soft brown orbs, beautiful angular face and long hair but his real self popped out soon like a bad pimple, she peered hard at him a little, earning a frown from him, his beards were growing as well. She attempted tou
Everything about her was ethereal. The reason why she can't be here, it was too risky for her. If anyone knows what she is, they would hunt for her. He watched from his peripheral vision as she stood to her feet, went into the house and turned his focus to place the log on the flat surfaced stump. He picked up the axe and with incredulous strength spilt the log into two halves with one blow. Lena trudged out of the house as she sipped up some water to regain her strength but the last thing she expected to see was Xander in a T-shirt revealing his lean muscular physique his toned arms in the air as he held on to the axe before cutting the wood open. He heaved once more, splitting the wood further. She flinched at the brute force of the whole scene but find herself getting lost in how good-looking he was. His long hair was tied into a messy man bun, and his jacket was tied around his waist, all these made him look rugged and extremely charming at the same time. He was effortlessly
Pain flashed through her as the knife passed through her for the umpteenth time, her insides twisting. The unknown person with green eyes had more malice in their eyes than the last time they stabbed her. Lena tried to see beyond those eyes, she tried fighting through the incredulous pain and reach out for her stabber's face to scratch or claw at it, they vanished. Like a darks smoke, the green eyes tormenting her.Who is this person? Lena asked, getting agitated by the second. Her vision was also starting to fade as blood oozed out of her body. She fell into a familiar suffocating darkness in time to wake up from her terrifying nightmare all drenched up in sweat and fear. She turned the lamp on, her eyes wild in fear, looking for someone with green eyes who might be in the room. While her hands were automatically over her abdomen region where she was stabbed, feeling suffocated in the room she dashed outside looking for one person.Xander. She walks over to his room, knocking and
Lena stared at her perplexed, What's a moon-goddess? Her cool hand intertwined with Lena sweaty nervous palm, a part of her has reached the conclusion. She stood to her feet, Lena following suit it felt natural to follow her, her presence provided a serene aura the type she needed to bask herself in following her encounter with the green eyed person who stabs her. “You my dear don't know me.“ Her voice was calm and soothing, it was as if she responded to the question that was conceived in Lena's confused mind, she paused a bit. “But your forgotten self do.“ Lena felt confused further, “My forgotten self?“ “A part of you you can no longer remember.“ How did she know she lost an integral part of her memory? “Am I a friend of yours…moon-goddess?“ She hesitated before calling out what she supposed to be her name. “You are like my child, the whole pack is, you no exception.“ Her talk only made Selena confused. Was she her mother? But if she was, won't she bear some resemblance w
Warm rays from the window flooded the room, some falling on Lena's face. She stirred a bit and herveyes fluttered open. Feeling well rested but still groggy, she sat up half straight and scanned her environment. She was back in the house and this room? She thought, confused at how she ended up back in. Her last recollection was from the forest, with that strange woman, she tried recollecting how she ended up back here but things weren't adding up.Throwing the duvet off herself, she felt odd as she stood her vision fuzzy with different spectrum of light interfering with her vision. Is she hallucinating? After some while it cleared up and she felt oddly powerful, strong even. What a weird way to start the morning? She was already confused with her existence to be experiencing these things things.Tired of her hair being like a wild bird's nest , all over the place, she folded it into a low bun and sauntered outside her room. Xander wasn't around the last time she was 'awake' still no
He stood up unable to comprehend whatever she was saying.First she left the house, and ventured into God knows where and met someone.“The moon what?“He asked overwhelmed by the these she was saying.“And you left beyond the log cabin?“ He sucked in a breath.“Are you going to get mad now?“ “I am mad, what if something had happened to you?“ He turned his back on her to hide the arrays of emotions.“She didn't seem dangerous, she was beautiful and had a calm way of talking.“He craned his head back to her as she referred to the person she supposedly met in the forest.“You are joking about this, right?“ He asked. “Why would I joke?“ She said exasperated, feeling hungry. She pouts at him, “Xander I am hungry.“ He narrows his eyes at her reminding himself to remain stern. It felt impossible but he needed not to fall for her natural charms.“No food for you today,” he blurts out, walking away from her view.“What?!“She exclaimed, following him like he expected.“Why?“She asks.“You st
She started narrating how she met a particular woman with white glowing skin, white lush hair and eyes with no irises. It sounded like a narration out of a fantasy fictional world. Xander tried to wrap his head around her narration. Supposedly she met this woman who doesn't fall into the average spectrum of a human because her description was far from human. She paused for a while, trying to arrange her thoughts. “She said she knows me, but my present self can't recall her.“ “What does she mean by she knows you? “Xander had to ask, feeling confused as she went on. Lena took another spoonful, chewing thoughtfully. “Well… according to her, my forgotten self knows who she is or might have an idea. She also referred to me as her child.“ He had a mental flip. “She knew you lost your memory and identity?” He was finding it bizarre he was buying into this. There has to be a sort of explanation for this. No one except him and Lena know about her lost identity. Well, if he's to give that
She closed her eyes tight when she noticed she was in the air instead of falling. Her chest still rose and fell as her nostril greedily dragged in the air. Why wasn't she falling anymore? She felt the soft breathing of a familiar man“Xander,” she mutters, her eyelids fluttering open. “Selena.“ He smiled as their forehead touched, his free arm holding her tightly against him. The strain and muscle pull his right arm suffered was nothing compared to the joy of holding her alive in his arms.A tear slipped out of her eye. “My trust belongs to you, Xander. Only you. I don't care how many wrongs you might have done against my people in the past, one thing is certain you've redeemed yourself.“ Xander pressed a desperate kiss on her forehead, her hair strands smeared on his face. “I won't fail you. I promise.“ A loud voice echoed from above the cliff, “Kiara!“ Nathaniel. Selena felt her chest tighten in guilt. Why was she hiding the truth from Xander, she was so scared for their love,
Xander turned around, finding it odd that Lena hadn't come since. He ignored Nathaniel's ramblings as to whether she was his mate or what not. “Selena!“ He yelled for her but only silence met him.His eyes met the spot where Jack was supposedly unconscious but odd enough His body wasn't there. His mind alarmed and alert, he brought out his Glock and walked towards different sections of the house, about to go to the back when…Jack's voice echoed through the house. Xander found himself pausing his steps up the stairs, gently he turned his neck to see him, and his world stopped.“Selena.“ A whisper left his lips.“You forgot too soon Alexander, that I hate you more than Estoc does and I yearn for your pain more than he wants your blood.“ A wide smile was strewn on his face. “Kiara!” Nathaniel rushed forward, desperate to get to Estoc. “Careful, wolfman you come any closer I blow her head off.“ He revealed the gun behind her head. Selena seemed unconscious, her frail body dragged on
Xander stared at the dark wolf watching Selena intently, he found it unbelievable to fathom a beast just saved her from Jack's to kill her. It seemed too aware of its surroundings. Eyes flickering at every one occasion before returning it to Lena who was packed with shock. He drew her closer to his chest, aware of how traumatic the situations his past introduced her to were. But for the first time she wasn't drowning in his touches, she was rather stoic, her gaze following the dark beast around. The dark wolf turned around, dragging a dead guard towards a pillar, it then stood behind it and slowly became invisible. After some minutes had passed a man emerged from it, wearing the guard's trousers that wrapped tightly around his thighs and groin. He was muscular, his muscles ripped and taut, his biceps flexing as he walked forward. His face was the only part of his body that hadn't properly shifted. Xander watched him aware instantly of who he was, a shifter but by far the biggest h
Jack felt his world blurring up as he only looked into her eyes, he couldn't look away even if he wanted to. It was like she had him in some kind of trance. “Do you want me to show you how I killed Fred?“ Selena said in a whisper.Estoc watched as the scene unfolded before him, he did nothing but watch. Jack never mentioned Alexander's lover is just as dangerous as him.He wanted so badly to put a bullet through her, the need was greater than the urge to end Alexander. Both are irritating. One thing he never expected was she to be equally as strong and a challenge to deal with. He expected her to be this weak woman that Xander desperately wanted to save. Except he guessed more work has to be put into making her his preferred version of her. He cares less whether Fred brought her or whether she had him killed. She was here. That is the main deal.~~~Xander sat his box on the floor, running his fingers through his knives and selecting his best ones, before tucking his Glock. Maybe he
Xander paced restlessly around the guard Quarters as he stood outside, the headguard noticed him.“You look new.“ He said.Xander hummed in response not wanting to push the conversation further but the headguard who goes by the name Gideon was relentless.“You were employed today?“ He asked. “Yes.“ Xander replied, feigning a smile.“Hmm,” Gideon remarked. “I guess Sam was fired. You might not know Sam. He was a good fellow, you know but he had a drinking issue.” Xander nodded, fully aware of who Sam was. And what mysteriously happened to Sam?“Excuse me, I've got somewhere to be.“ Xander excused himself about leaving the head guard's presence when he got called back by the damn man. “What now?“ He said through gritted teeth, shocking the guard mildly.“You are not allowed to go beyond the premises at night.“ The guard said.“Whose orders?“ Xander asked, his temper rising.“Jack and the damn owner of this place.“ Xander drew closer to the man, till he withdrew slightly, a frightene
Xander drew his cap low to cover his face as he strolled around Estoc's home premises making sure not to pass out as suspicious. His disguise to look as big as the former guard was Ehhh…? Okay. He made do with the little resources his hands reached. The small round belly he gave himself fell each time off his toned abs, and his slender muscled form didn't quite resemble the bulky form of the former guard but he didn't plan on disguising himself for long. He just needed one night to confirm Selena was here and safe. He feared for her more than her, and this wasn't a risk if he had done much worse. His one prayer now was that Estoc or Jack didn't pay the guards too much attention to notice any oddity in their looks. The sound of man's shoes scratched against the gravel of the ground. Making Xander pause on his feet and listen. The legs moved further one more time, and this time oddly closer to where he stood. A voice spoke out and he instantly recognized the owner of that voice.
Xander couldn't stop the voice ringing in his head, "You need to protect her." He reached the ward door and pushed it open slowly. For the first time, his eyes landed on the woman he rescued the night before, she was different from the bloodied dying woman covered in mud. His legs trudged closer to observe her closer, something felt different in the air. And she was the cause. She was like an angel and a peaceful one in her unconscious state. Her pale golden skin reflected against the rays of the sun softened by the curtains while silky long dark hair rested past her shoulders, some falling in little strips of hair on her oval-shaped angelic face. Her skin looks smooth and flawless except for a noticeable depression on her right nostril, which made her nose look more pinched and aquiline. His eyes roamed over her face, her little plump lips parted slightly in sleep. Above her brows where the big bump with an acute cut was, was wrapped in a bandage. Xander couldn't explain why
L Nathaniel alighted from his car before walking into a coffee store, he was tired and groggy. And he needed to use a restroom to freshen up a bit. A strong coffee won't be bad. He found a place closest to the window. His eyes roamed about the streets on the outside of the environment as he tried to absorb more into his new noisy environment. He took a sip of the freshly brewed coffee he was offered, sipping contentedly, his mind going back to Kiara in a restless manner. Though he still perceived her scent strongly, it was like she was everywhere but nowhere, pockets of her here and pockets of her movement elsewhere. He would only be moving in circles if he didn't catch a direct glimpse of her soon. Tense for no exact reason he breathed in deeply to calm his senses, before running fingers into his hair. A loud chaos outside caught his attention and screams and pockets of loud whispers soon turned into chattering. “The car would run her over.“ He heard a man say. Nathaniel intrigu
Lena felt like crying, she was so clueless and outrightly deceived by a goddess. She felt the evening cool air swirl around her, her hair billowing in the wind and she knew who was about to make herself appear. The air felt charged and electrified, her abdomen region burning for some reason. She closed her eyes at the pain and dust swirling in the air. Soon her bright white appearance formed in front of her eyes. Her body was covered in white glowing tattoos, and her hair billowed in the air, her eyes weren't as ferocious as Lena expected them to be instead they had a soft expression enamoured to it. “I am sorry.“ The goddess apologized, as tears poured down Selena's eyes. She was shaking with emotions she didn't know existed. Her reality and her fate weren't in her hands. She never had a choice in the beginning. All this while she wore the furs of a wolf that couldn't even help her when she was kidnapped, refused to help when she was almost killed by Fred, and let her be awa
