Chapter 72

Dean’s once darkened eyes softened as they met Sean’s. Sean looked up, his eyes brimming with such mischief. “Sean,” he called quietly, his voice almost airy. “I–I…”

“Shh… I know,” Sean whispered. “And I’m sorry I reacted like that.”

Dean closed the distance between their faces, his hands reaching for his husband’s face, slow and deliberate. Then he knelt in front of him, their eyes locked on each other, he reached out and gently took his hands in his. Sean could feel the coldness on Dean’s fingers, and he felt a pang of guilt for being the cause of his distress.

“I love you,” he said, his voice rough with emotion. “I love you more than anything. And I hate to see you hurt and upset because of me.” His breath hitching as he looked into his eyes.

“I love you too,” he murmured. “More than I can put into words.”
