Callie POVWhen I open my eyes, I can’t help but smile. The smell of fresh coffee invades my nostrils, and I move to bed to feel Jagger’s side empty. I protest as I groan, opening my eyes. The sun is shining, and I widen my eyes, sitting up straight. “Shit,” I whisper, moving on the bed, trying to find my phone. “Good morning,” Jagger says as he looks at me over his newspaper, and I shake my head. Jagger frowns, putting the paper down and watching as I stand up and try to gather all my clothes that are gathered at the end of the bed in a folded pile. What the hell?“Did you fold my clothes?” I ask as Jagger keeps his eyes on me as he nods. I shake my head, slightly amused, as I put my clothes back on. “I am so dead,” I let out, but Jagger doesn’t say anything. “My mom is going to kill me. What time is it?” I ask, and Jagger looks at his watch and then at me. “Seven thirty,” he says, unaware of how screwed I am right now. “Shit, shit,” I curse under my breath, pulling my pants up. J
Jagger POV“Come on baby, we’re going to be late,” I say, and Calliope looks at me, giving me the dirtiest side-eye I have ever seen. I smile as I watch her look at her reflection in the mirror. She is wearing one of the dresses I bought for her; you know, one of the ones she looked at and said she would never wear. “Zip me up, please,” Calliope says, and I nod, taking a step closer to her and pulling the zip on the back of the dress up. My fingers brush her skin lightly while I do it, and I can see her eyes widen slightly, and I can’t help but smile. “Please, be in your bed behavior, and don’t say anything until I explain to them why you’re here,” Calliope says as we walk down the hotel corridor. I invited them for dinner at the hotel tonight. They asked me to go to their house, but I think the public environment might be better today. Public exposure means they can’t kill me. “Good evening. Reservation is under Bolton,” I say to the hostess as we reach the restaurant. She smiles
Callie POV“You did this on purpose?” Jagger asks, his face hard and his eyes wild. I don’t think he could ever have imagined I would prank him on something so serious. Yes, I was struggling to tell my parents I was with Jagger again, but knowing he would be meeting them, I decided it was time to face my own fears and tell them myself. I know I probably could’ve told Jagger about the conversation, but watching him defend me like that was adorable. I smile softly, trying to get Jagger to relax a little. His entire body is stiff, and his eyes are locked on me. “You should’ve seen your face…” I let out with laughter while both mom and dad join me. Jagger watches us as if we have three heads each. “I am sorry, baby,” I say, and Jagger shakes his head, bringing his beer glass to his lips and emptying the content. I widen my eyes, watching him, and even my dad is a little surprised by it, dare I say even impressed. “You got me, but it’s game on, baby girl,” Jagger says, and I stiffen in m
Callie POV“Call me when you land,” Mom says as she hugs me tightly. Dad shakes Jagger’s hand at the same time, and then Mom hugs Jagger. I thought he would look and feel uncomfortable, but he didn’t. He looked relaxed, as If my Mom hugging him is the most normal thing in the world. “I will,” I say before we leave the house. Jagger guides me to a black car waiting for us. The driver puts my suitcase in the trunk while Jagger opens the door for me. I wave at my parents before I get in, and I see several people watching us. People here are not used to seeing luxury cars in the street. It’s not like this is a rich area. Jagger sits next to me, closing the door, and I can’t control the single tear rolling down my cheek. Jagger clears the tear with his finger and then kisses my forehead before pulling me into his arms. The drive to the airport doesn’t take long, and as soon as the car stops the driver gets out and opens the door for us. Jagger gets out and offers me his hand and I take
Jagger POVI can tell Calliope never traveled in first class. She didn’t have to tell me. The way her eyes scan the individual pods on the airplane and then the screen in front of her. I booked a double pod because I don't want to stay one minute away from her, but even with the double pod, you can close a small window and have some privacy. Not that she will need it. I have every intention of getting her to join the Mile High Club. “Good Afternoon. Would you like a glass of champagne?” the flight attendant asks with a huge smile. I shake my head, but Calliope smiles, grabbing a glass for herself. “Can I offer you another drink?” she asks.“Whiskey, neat,” I say, and she smiles before she walks away to get my drink. I know I could be a little nicer, but the nicer I am, the more attention I’ll get, and right now, I want all the attention on the beautiful woman sitting next to me, examining the menu on the TV in front of her seat. “It has a remote controller,” she says with an excited
Jagger POV“Bella?” I let out once more. The girl looks at me with the most puzzled expression on her face. Her eyes meet mine, and I don’t see the spark they once had in them. Her face is the same except for the small scar over her eye. Bella didn’t have it. My heart is beating so fast that I feel like I am about to die of a heart attack. “Sorry?” She says. Geez, the voice. So many nights, I got drunk, thinking I would never hear the melodic tone of her voice, and now she is here, in front of me. Breathing. Alive. How? “What are you doing here? You died, how?” I let out between breaths. I don’t even know how I can speak right now. My brain is fuzzy, as if it can’t believe my eyes. How is this? What the fuck. “I am sorry, sir, I don’t know what you’re talking about,” she says, and I frown as I look at her. It’s her. There’s not a chance in the world another woman would look and sound exactly like her. “I think you must be confusing me with someone else,” she says, and I shake my he
Callie POVJagger’s hands keep me in place against his body while my back is pressed against the bathroom door. The jealousy bubbling inside my heart is more significant than I care to admit. Jagger, looking at that woman, felt like a slap in the face. She looks so much like his ex. I never thought her ghost would be a problem in our relationship. But now I know she is not a ghost. She is a real woman. A woman Jagger didn’t know existed. Jagger moves our bodies, and I can’t help but gasp as he places me on the sink. Jagger spreads my legs, positioning himself between them; his hands move fast, lifting my top. As he pulls my top off, we stop kissing, and when our eyes meet, I feel a little cold in my stomach. His eyes look hungry, full of desire and intensity. Jagger’s hands cradle my face, forcing me to look at him while we both pant, trying to catch our breaths, “I am sorry, Callie,” Jagger says, and I arch my brows as I stare into those beautiful blue eyes and offer him a small sm
Callie POVWhen the airplane lands, Jagger holds my hand and brings it to his lips, placing a small kiss. I smile, looking at him as he takes a deep breath. “Everything will change as soon as we get out of this plane,” Jagger says, and I nod. I am used to the press being around me, but I also know Jagger has a lot more attention than I do. We leave the plane and walk down the airport holding hands, but as soon as we get out, the flashes almost blind me as Jagger’s and my name keep being shouted. I frown, and Jagger pulls me closer to him. Immediately, we are surrounded by three guys. They are huge, and they create a barrier between us and the press. “Jagger, is it true you helped Miss Flores?” One journalist shouts, but Jagger stays quiet as we walk. I knew he had much more attention than me, but this is ridiculous. We have literal bodyguards. I’ve never seen Jagger walking around with Bodyguards, to be honest. But he probably doesn’t really need it. Look at the size of him. He is h
