“You take at least a week of vacation-leave Daff. Have a break and relax. I command you not as your father but as President and CEO of this Company.” Mr. Marby stated with such authority that Daffodil could not refuse.
Just two weeks from now and she is turning twenty-one and as usual, her parents told her to travel and relax for at least a week away from her office.
Their business revolves into the fashion industry from elite clothing line, jewelry manufacturing and shops to fashionable home furniture.
She is currently the Executive Vice-President, next in rank to his father, who is the President/CEO of their Group of Companies. She is just twenty-one but her eagle eye for business is already very evident. She is workaholic and never thought of anything else but their businesses; their companies. Although, she dates men from time to time but she never had any serious relationship yet. She doesn't feel the need yet, nor does she feel being in-love already.
A good daughter that she is, she followed what her parents wanted.
And so here she is at the airport about to board for her flight going to Sydney Australia. Her parents booked her flight to Australia but she will not stay there as she bought another ticket. From Sydney Australia, she will have a connecting flight going to Cook Islands. This place has been in her bucket list for a long time already together with Fiji, but her parents never allowed her to visit it, saying that Cook Islands is not a safe place for her. She could not fathom neither finding through research what is the basis of her parents for considering Cook Islands as a risky place. Cook Islands based on what she had read is a beautiful and peaceful place. Some even considered it as a paradise.
She booked a garden studio accommodation at the Little Polynesian Resort, a boutique resort in Rarotonga. It is just around nine kilometres away from the Rarotonga International Airport.
As she walked out of the Rarotonga International Airport, she saw nearby the airport shuttle of the Little Polynesian Resort. Beside the shuttle is a native man wearing a uniform of the resort, holding a placard where her name is written.
Daffodil smiled as she saw her name on the placard. “Hello, I am Daffodil Marby,” she said introducing herself to the man holding the sign board.
“Kia Orana wahine ataahua,” the man from the hotel greeted her smilingly.
Daffodil knew few words of the language being used in Cook Islands, which is the Maori language. She understood that the man said, “Hello pretty or beautiful lady”; she smiled back at him.
“Whakamihi,” she said thank you as a reply to the man.
The man’s smile widened as he heard her spoke their dialect. He nodded, got her luggage and put them inside the shuttle. He then opened the door in the passenger side and motioned for her to get inside the vehicle.
Once again she thanked him as she got inside the shuttle. She sat comfortably and looked inside as they travelled to her booked resort for more or less twenty minutes.
As she looked around, she felt something inside her; familiarity, longing and other sort of feelings that she could not comprehend.
II
As they reached the Little Polynesian Resort, she gasped for breath in awe; the place is wonderful and so relaxing. The things she read on the internet were not therefore lies or exaggerated descriptions.
Daffodil went to the reception area to check-in and she was greeted with a smile and kindness by the female receptionist. Suddenly, the receptionist’s eyes widened while looking at her.
Daffodil saw the astonishment in the receptionist’s eyes while looking at her.
“Yes?” she muttered staring back at her inquisitively.
“Am I not mistaken with what I saw? You really have golden eyes Madam?” her voice was low; it was like a murmur actually.
Astounded by her question, Daffodil nodded. “Yes, I have.”
The receptionist suddenly became uneasy. Immediately, she handed her the key to her booked garden studio unit. “Here is your key Madam. Please take care,” she said in a low voice again.
Perplexed, Daffodil got the key from the receptionist and nodded to her while murmuring thank you, “Whakamihi.”
Tired of her long air travel and most probably having some jet lag, Daffodil fell asleep after just a few minutes of laying her back on the soft king size bed inside the room.
She dozed-off like a log until her spirit wandered into that realm of dreaming.
Then she saw a woman, running, too afraid while holding tight a child in her arms and then she noticed some sort of wolves running too, chasing the woman with a child. The woman cried out and shouted, her thin voice spread all over the mountains disturbing the peace of every species around.
A moment after, she saw a blooded golden wolf almost crawling, trying to save his life but three black wolves attacked it again and again until it lay lifeless, almost swimming in its own blood. The three black wolves growling so loud as if rejoicing for their victory.
Daffodil has been suddenly awakened by the ringing of the telephone inside her garden studio unit.
“Hello,” still feeling hazy she answered the phone in an almost murmuring manner.
A baritone voice replied on the other line. “Hello Ms. Marby, this is from the reception area and we just would like to check if everything in there is okay?”
“Oh, yes, yes. The unit is wonderful; I am comfortable. Thank you,” she mumbled.
“Thank you Madam, just give us a ring please if you need something.” The male receptionist said before putting the phone down.
Suddenly Daffodil smelled something; something so refreshing, it is like a cool breeze with peppermint menthol scent lingering into her nostrils down to her heart up to the deepest part of her soul. Daffodil felt flabbergasted unable to understand everything that she is experiencing in this place from the start that she sets foot therein.
Then the peppermint menthol scent became stronger; seems to be just so near. Daffodil shook her head and thought that maybe someone is just having a relaxing massage moment and been using an aromatic oil of peppermint scent. She tried to relax and inhaled the scent one more time.
Outside, nearby the beach, a man docked his speed boat and alighted therefrom with such swiftness. He looked at the little paradise in front of him and smiled. His smile however suddenly faded and his forehead furrowed when the wind blew into him letting him smell that sweet lilac fragrance that brought him into such a wonderful and heavenly feeling, making his heart flutter.
His lips all of a sudden twitched, when he surmised what that smell meant to him; slowly, a ray of smile crossed his eyes as he walk with more speed going to the direction where that sweet lilac fragrance came from.
I He entered the resort and went directly to the reception area. The female receptionist immediately saw him coming and she smiled. How she wished this man would at least notice her beauty as his lover and not just as his friend. She sighed. “He is truly gorgeous and oh so captivating,” she murmured. “So Trixie, what’s up? Why did you send me a message telling me to come here, outright?” the captivating man asked the lady receptionist as he approached the reception desk. “Hmm, I need to talk to you in private; it is confidential,” she said as she walked-out of the reception area, grabbed his arm and led him outside. They sat at the garden side where none could hear them. “So what’s the confidential matter? Come-on, you are killing me with my curiosity,” he hissed but smiling actually. “Lexus, I think I saw her. She is one of the guests.” Trixie lightly replied. The man called Lexus suddenly furrowed. “Who?” “The missing golden she-wolf,” she murmured, afraid that somebody may
I Lexus felt like a spell had radiated into his whole body. He just could not take his eyes away from the woman who is walking, approaching the place where he is standing. Her straight, a little blonde hair sways as the warm wind softly hammed caressing every strand thereof. Her flushed face is akin to that blooming red roses whose beauty could captivate every butterfly that may pass-by. He inhaled some fresh air and furrowed, confused with such a feeling that is clouding his whole being now. Then his wolf galloped happily. “Lexus, we finally found our mate,” Aryas, his wolf exclaimed. Lexus' heart throbbed so heavily upon hearing Aryas’ words. His eyes became fixed into the woman’s eyes; she is just around four arms length away from him. All of a sudden her eyes glistened as they were hit by the last light of the sun before it finally set-in. He furrowed more. As if someone is pushing him; he abruptly makes wide strides to reach the woman’s spot; she is still looking at him with g
I In a flash, Lexus remembered what happened a week ago. “Yes Alpha, I was told that you summoned me for an urgent task,” Lexus said as he vowed his head to the old and kind Alpha of the Mythical Silver Shadow Pack. “I learned that the Alpha of the Black Forest Pack is in wide search for the remaining breed of the Golden Wolves. The new Alpha wanted to keep the Golden Wolf for himself as a mistress to make him the most powerful Alpha. But we will not allow that. I will be passing on my Alpha crown to my son Drew and he wanted that Golden she-wolf to be her Luna to make him the strongest Alpha; even stronger than that Black Alpha, who killed the Alpha and Luna, the last breed of the Golden Wolves. Lexus, try everything to find the missing sole daughter of the Alpha and Luna of the Golden Wolves’ Breed.” Alpha Daedos stated. It was an order for Beta Lexus and failure is not an option. Beta Lexus nodded. “Yes Alpha.” “Lexus I know, you are just our newly appointed Beta in lieu of yo
I Daffodil suddenly stiffened as she heard Lexus’ words. “Proclaim and mark me? For what?” she exclaimed. Lexus looked at her with a spark in his eyes. “I will mark you and you will mark me. If that happens, no other wolf will even try to think of having you or having me, because they knew that we already belong to each other.” “Crazy, I belong to no one!” she hissed at him but he was not even moved at all. His smile never even faded. “Finding your mate indeed will make you crazy especially if we have our mate bond already,” he said while his smile was growing wide. “I don’t want to hear that mate thing anymore. Let me go, I wanted to rest.” Daffodil once again snarled at him. But he just looked at her seriously this time. “Let me accompany you to your studio unit and let me stay there and be with you until your flight back to your country. You need to be guarded as I am sure; the other pack already knew that the possible missing golden she-wolf is just around here.” “Oh goodne
I Lexus approached Daffodil and motioned to her to keep quiet. “Stay quiet and just sit on the bed, I heard a growl outside,” he murmured to her. Daffodil was stiffened. Fears suddenly engulfed all her senses. She cuts Dixon’s call and sits still as he told her so. Lightly, Lexus walked near the glass door and locked it gently. He further pulled the curtains to cover the glass door fully. He sat beside Daffodil and strengthened all his senses. After a while they heard again that soft growl, somewhat nearby the sliding door. Daffodil’s fear grew more but brave as she is, she tried to overcome what she feels and think how to protect herself just in case they will be attacked by wolves. She grabbed her bag nearby and got her pepper spray inside. Lexus furrowed when she saw what she got inside her bag. “Don’t spray perfume; it will ignite more of your smell to the wolves,” he whispered. Daffodil shook her head. “This is a pepper spray, something I can use to defend myself in case we
I Lexus growled as he could not do what he wanted to do. His mate is quite wise not to let him. “Daff if you will not let me see that bosom of yours, I will just take you now,” He said, threatening her as he pressed to her his hard and erect manhood. Daffodil’s eyes widened in shock when she felt his full readiness to take her. “Oh no, release me now Lexus!” she scowled at him trying to break free from his arms. But Lexus is too strong and Daffodil could not break free from his tight embrace “Oh no Sweetheart; either you show me your bosom or I will take you now.” His voice seemed to be unbendable as he looked at her with ferocity. “Hah, are you really planning to rape me?” Daffodil asked mockingly. Lexus grinned at her, “I don’t think I need to Sweetheart. You will just give in, I can feel that,” he murmured, biting her right ear, sliding his tongue inside it that brought shivers into her senses. Daffodil’s jaw tightened as her anger grew more. Suddenly, her eyes sparkled so
I Lexus was not able to mutter any word as he saw with his own eyes the golden mark like a half-moon at the bosom of Daffodil. He fell silent; fears crept into his whole body. “Daffodil, you are the missing golden she-wolf,” he murmured with a shaking voice. “How sure are you that I am indeed the missing golden she-wolf Lexus? Just because I have golden eyes and golden marks?” Daffodil asked unconvinced still. “All the signs are with you Daffodil.”Lexus said as he sat-up releasing Daffodil from his arms. “What will I do Lexus? I guess it is time for me to go back home and ask Mom and Dad about this matter.” She signed as she sat-up too. “No Daffodil. You need to learn more about yourself; unravel what’s hidden in that golden mark; let your wolf out and develop your mental powers. I will help you Sweetheart.” Lexus exclaimed while looking at Daffodil with determination. Daffodil shook her head. “I am a very busy Lexus person; I ran companies and I have responsibilities to attend
I Lexus' heart thumped as he noticed a big man sitting at the back part. His dark color and his equally dark eyes are fiercely looking at them when they enter the plane. Good thing they found two seats beside each other; they don’t need to seat apart. When both of them were settled on their seats; Lexus tried to relax. He does not want Daffodil to notice his uneasiness. It is better that she did not know that they might be in danger right at this moment. Who knows, he might be just too paranoid. Anyhow, Daffodil is wearing a contact lens covering her golden eyes. Her eyes right now are akin to the ocean’s color. When the aircraft started to soar up, Lexus checked on Daffodil first before he closed his eyes. She was looking at him too. Smilingly, he put his left arm around her shoulders and let her lean on his muscular chest. “You sleep Sweetheart; we have a long way to go,” he murmured, to which she just nodded. Daffodil could hear and feel the fast beating of Lexus' heart. She no
Drew has been proven to be the mastermind of the attack in the packhouse and the death of Dixon. Upon deliberation and voting of the members of the Council of Elders and officers of the pack, a unanimous decision has been concluded.Drew has been brought to the execution ground dressed in a white robe. He will be hanged to death as a final punishment for his crimes.Alpha Daedos who could not be able to bear seeing Drew being executed stayed inside his office and there he let his tears flow for the loss of a boy, he treated as his son and loved and cared for so many years.Lexus looked down when the drum was banged as a signal of Drew’s execution, and Daffodil did the same.Trixie who was there fainted when Drew was finally hanged to death. Trixie felt the pain of losing her mate.It was a day of sorrow for the whole Mythical Silver Shadow Pack but they cannot do anything to save Drew. The werewolf's law should be applied no matter who is involved in the crime.Although they are still
IA tall, bulky man with a fierce look came in, disturbing the concentration of Daffodil.“Mr. Dixon?” the tall, bulky man asked while looking at Dixon.“Yes? I am Dixon.”“Please come with me. We will be giving you a few instructions,” the man said and motioned for Dixon to come out and follow him.Daffodil suddenly grabbed Dixon’s arm. “Dixon, don’t go,” she said as her heart suddenly beats fast. Her instinct was telling her that he needs to stop Dixon from getting out of the room.“Hurry up, Mr. Dixon!” the man shouted and looked at Daffodil with squinting eyes.Dixon followed while Daffodil sat on the bed with her heart beating fast.Dixon followed the man until they reach a room. “Please come inside, Mr. Dixon.”Dixon nodded and got inside the room. There were two men waiting inside the room. They were both seated on the three-seater sofa. The three men looked at each other. Then the man who fetched Dixon nodded. Before Dixon could even move the two men were already beside him. T
IDaffodil requested for a coffee from an omega maid that they passed by while going to the lanai area. Just a few moments after being seated on the lanai couch, the omega maid arrived with two cups of coffee for Daffodil and Dixon.“So, how are you feeling Daff that your wedding is just a day away?” Dixon asked to start the conversation. On the side, his ears were well alert while waiting for the go signal that was told to him by Drew.Daffodil smiled, her eyes starting to light up with excitement. “I am getting excited Dixon but a bit nervous too. Maybe this is the so-called wedding jitters.” She looked at Dixon and smiled.“Are you really sure about your decision of getting married to Lexus and stay here for good? How about your business in Los Angeles and your parents, Daff?” Dixon was trying to put a certain doubt in Daffodil’s mind, but the latter smiled and patted his shoulder.“I should not worry about that. Lexus is willing to let me visit Los Angeles anytime I wanted and whe
IBefore Dixon could make a step, a big gray wolf jumped in front of him, to his complete shock. All his blood seemed to forsake him out of fear. His knees weakened and his eyes grew wide while looking at the gray wolf. And then the gray wolf in a flash shifted into his human form which added to the shock in Dixon. “Who… who are you?” stammering, Dixon asked the man in front of him.“I am the new Beta of this pack.” It was Drew who was in front of Dixon.“Beta? Pack? What kind of creatures are you?” still with fear, Dixon asked in a shaking voice.“Didn’t you know? We are werewolves. All of us are werewolves here including Lexus.” The revelation added more shock to Dixon. “Daffodil, she should not marry Lexus,” he then said with worry and fear. He suddenly feared for the safety and life of Daffodil, not knowing fully well that Daffodil is a werewolf too.“Am I right to guess that you wanted Daffodil for yourself?” Drew asked in a confirming tone. He wanted to make sure that his plan
ILexus and Daffodil guided Mr. And Mrs. Marby and Dixon to the dining hall where food has been readied already. Alpha Daedos was also there, waiting for the arrival of their special visitors.Immediately, with a smile on his face, Alpha Daedos stood up when he saw the group of Lexus entering the dining hall. He walked to meet Lexus and Daffodil and their special visitors.“Father, may I introduce to you, Daff’s parents; Mr. and Mrs. Marby, and their family friend, Mr. Dixon.” It was Lexus who introduced their visitors to his Alpha father.“Welcome to our place, Mr. and Mrs. Marby, and Dixon,” Alpha Daedos initiated the first greeting with a broad smile. He extended his hand for a handshake to Mr. Marby first then to Mrs. Marby and then to Dixon.“It is a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Daedos. Your place is absolutely wonderful,” Mr. Marby replied with a wide smile too.“We will surely love this place,” Mrs. Marby stated too with a genuine smile on her face.Dixon simply smiled but never d
IHe cleared his throat first before he spoke with a serious expression. “He is welcome here, Daff, as long as he will not create any trouble that will affect our wedding.”Daffodil smiled at him and got hold of his hand on top of the coffee table. “I can assure you that Dixon is a good man and he will never do something to ruin our wedding. He is a man of good values, Lex. Please don’t worry. Besides, Dad and Mom are here, so I am sure, he will be ashamed to do something to hurt us.” She looked at him with confidence in her aura.“With that assurance of yours, then, he is welcome to come and stay here until our wedding,” Lexus replied, smiling this time. He kissed her hand and looked at her tenderly. They had a long conversation on the balcony before they separated ways. Lexus went to his Alpha Father’s office to inform him of the arrival of Daff’s family. Daffodil on the other hand decided to go to her room to rest for a while. She is smiling and has been feeling so light. In just a
IShe entered the resort and after parking her car in the resort’s parking area, she walked in a normal phase to the restaurant. She was not in a hurry since she knew that she is still ten minutes earlier than the time that she and Dixon had agreed upon.As she guessed it, Dixon was not yet in the resort’s restaurant when she arrived there. She sat on the table in the corner at the far end side of the restaurant to wait for Dixon. She ordered a cup of brewed coffee when one of the waitresses of the restaurant approached her.Just five minutes of waiting and Daffodil already saw Dixon enter the restaurant. She waved her hand to him to catch his attention, by which, and he noticed her immediately. He walked fast to her table and sat on the chair beside her.“Daff, I am happy that you came,” Dixon stated the moment he took a seat beside Daffodil. He then faced her and said with a serious expression. “Daff, I have visitors in my suite now and they are waiting for us. Come, we will just ha
IDaffodil tried to dial his father’s mobile number again but like her previous calls, it cannot get through. His mobile number was unreachable.“You cannot contact your parents, Sweety?” Lexus, who was already lying on the bed, asked.Daffodil nodded frowning. “Maybe Dad’s mobile phone is with low battery, that was why I could not reach him. I will try to call Mom, instead.” And, so Daffodil dialed the mobile number of her mom, but the same thing happened. Her Mom’s mobile number, like her Dad’s, was unreachable. It seemed like both of her parents’ phones were low battery or have been turned off. Worry suddenly rushed through her thoughts.“What Daff? You cannot contact your Mom too?” Lexus was already furrowing. He alighted from the bed and approached Daffodil.“Both their mobile phones could not be reached. I am worried now, Lex. What happened to them?” Daffodil sat on her bed and Lexus followed her.“Don’t think of anything negative, Daff. Your parents, I am sure are fine. How abo
ILexus saw Drew getting out of his office in a hurried act, with an incomprehensible facial expression. He waited for Drew to completely walk away from the premises before he entered his office. He knew that Trixie was still inside.Trixie was sitting on the couch inside his office with tears trickling down her face. Seeing her like that Lexus could already determine that Trixie and Drew were not able to patch up the matter between them.“Trixie,” he called her name without muttering any further words. She looked up at him and shook her head.“It was useless talking to Drew,” Trixie said while controlling her sobs.“Did you reject him already?” Lexus asked but in his mind, he hoped that nothing happened as such yet.Trixie shook her head again. “Nope. He did not give me the chance. He just walked away.”“Did he say, he does not want you, Trixie?”“No. All he said was if I wanted to reject him, it is up to me. He said, he is nothing now and he cannot offer anything for me.”Lexus’ for
