A few days earlier.
A middle aged man ran to the guard post in the southwest district in hurry. His breath was heavy and his skin glistened with sweats. His pale red hair bobbled as he ran, becoming messier as he worked his way around to avoid bumping into people.
He reached the guard post soon and immediately asked the stationed guard. “H-Hello… Can I ask for Officer Torfo?”
The guard in charge, a young man probably in his twenties, replied with a question. “Are you his relative? Is this an emergency?”
The man with pale red hair could only nod as he tried regaining his breath. The guard noticed that it looked like something important, so he asked the other guard who was standing near to call for the mentioned guard.
“Please sit down, sir. And let me get you some water.” The guard in charge of the lobby took a cup and filled it with the water from the jug in the counter. “What could possibly be the p
Jai might not be as frustrated as Darrion, but the feeling was there. That’s why he left after dinner to get some air and cool his head. Darrion did the same. They went to different directions though. Jai went to the hospital to visit Claude while Darrion went elsewhere. Little Shoru came with him, hiding inside his scarf as usual. The little puppy licked Jai’s cheek carefully. Earning no reaction from him, she whined. Jai sighed silently and reached to her, rubbing her softly on the head with his index finger. “I’m just sulking a little bit. I’m alright.” Shoru nuzzled her snout to his cheek to return the affection. Jai walked to the A wing and made his way through the hallways and up to Claude’s room. Doctor Inoha had brought him to Claude’s new room, which was in the VIP section in the next floor, and Jai still remembered the way. He didn’t forget to write in the guest list though, earning some handwaves and friendly callings from th
Baji entered the police office and paused to look around the lobby, trying to find someone. When he found the guy, he walked to the lobby and stopped beside his desk. He slipped a small piece of paper to the man’s desk from the side. The man glanced at the paper and opened it. After reading the content, he stood up and disappeared into a hallway. Baji took a chair and sat beside the person’s desk, waiting for the person to come back. The police office was not that busy tonight, but being a police office, there isn’t any rest. The detectives were busy upstairs, discussing about criminals and the strategy to capture them while the police officers were in the ground below, dealing with lesser domestic or crime charge. This was where Baji was waiting, in one of the police officer’s desk. He watched the cell in this floor, on his right. There was a new criminal that was currently pushed into the cell, a skinny guy with messy dark orange hair a
“So… Tell me why are we bringing flowers again?” Darrion asked as he stared at the bouquet of flowers Jai was holding.“To give it to the lady of the house.” Jai said simply. An old lady beside him chuckled and patted his arm that was hooked around hers. “You are so sweet, sonny.”Jai eye smiled at her since the lower side of his face was covered by his scarf. “We are visiting someone after all.”The old lady smiled. “If they have children, consider buying some sweets. Children loves sweets.”Jai tilted his head. “Oh. I didn’t know that. He’s a boy, so I didn’t think sweets would be his favorite.”The old lady chuckled. “At first, I also thought so. But kids in general love sweets. When they get older, however, that’s a different story.”“Huh. Never think about that. I still like sweets even though I’m all gro
Yuta entered the café with a jingle. A maid with short, pinkish hair greeted him. “Yuta-kun! Welcome!”“Ah, Mamo-chan. Good morning.” Yuta waved at her.The maid approached him. “My, what brings you here in the morning? Does Ruta-kun crave some sweets?”Yuta chuckled. “Not really, but that reminds me he really loves your desserts. I’ll probably order a pack of donuts. Do you make donuts this weekend?”The pinkette’s eyebrows curled upwards slightly. “Sorry, Yuta-kun. We don’t have that many customers this week, so we’re only making cream puffs and several pies for dessert.”“Oh that’s fine. He likes your cream puffs too. One box please.” Yuta ordered. The pinkette maid smiled and bowed slightly. “Right away! Oh and, Jai-san and Darrion-san are here today. They’re waiting in the center booth if you’re curious.”
The Akamine’s big house was… Big. It was comparable to a mansion, or well… What was that French word to call a big mansion with its huge lawn around it? Chateau. But this was in Japanese and the land was not only reserved to grow trimmed grass to make golf-like field but actually consisted of a garden, a farm, and Jai didn’t really know the rest since he could only see those two places.“Welcome to the Akamine’s household! I’m Yuta Akamine, and will be your host for today!” Yuta said energetically.Darrion grinned. “Wow! What a greeting! Are you aiming to become a master of ceremony, Yuta?” He asked.Yuta laughed. “Not really. But Ruta specifically asked me to greet you ‘with passion’.”Jai and Darrion laughed. “That is very passionate, indeed.” Jai commented.Yuta smiled widely. “This way, please! Ruta is currently in the kitchen with our mother
Usha woke up a bit earlier than usual. The wind was a bit strong in this part of the forest. Oh, right, he forgot to go home. His female human would be very worried. The white cat felt a bit tired as he had run out of energy playing around the day before. But he had regained his energy today, so it’s time for another set of activities! After stretching his paws forward and yawning wide, Usha began to plan his day. He could think of some activities he could do, but first, he needed to go home. You know, to see his female human and make sure the house in order and such… Also, he kinda missed his one and only friend in the kingdom. He needed to find her, that big (and fluffy!) lady blue rabbit named Artie.Usha had to admit that she was very big for a bunny. But it wasn’t that she was the only big rabbit he saw when he went to the kingdom. But still, to him, she was gigantic. But she was nice, so that’s a very big plus. After c
On the way to the kitchen, as Ruta said, Shoru didn’t look around the place as much as she usually does. The pink bird on Ruta’s shoulder caught her attention the most. The creature was almost as small as her, if not, longer. But the head was so much smaller than her that she couldn’t help but pay attention to it.‘What was the creature’s name? Rita?’ Shoru silently thought. ‘Is she a friend? She looks harmless.’It wasn’t that Shoru had never seen other smaller creatures the same size as her. When they were walking through the town, she had seen several other creatures flying around and about. They were in various sizes and various looks. She was not fond of them because she was still getting used to everything. Not to mention everything was hot. She liked to be with Jai or Darrion. The former gave her comfort, and the latter gave her breeze. But seeing Rita—The pink bird on Ruta’s shoulder sudd
“Ha!!” Ruta shouted while punching his fist forward. Then the orange haired boy took a deep breath and did the prayer pose, ending his martial arts display. He then turned to the side. “How did I do?”Jai hummed with his index finger touching his lower lip. His eyes gazed at Ruta with slightly calculative look and a semi serious expression. ‘As usual, kids are usually wobbly. Fortunately, he’s on the level of a practiced kid and not ordinary kids like the children in my village. He’s still better than average kids. But there’s something…’“Not bad. You still have room to learn. Do you practice mock battle with anyone?” Jai asked.Ruta looked at him in confusion. “Mock… Battle?” A thought came to the little orange’s head.He was standing in the middle of a big crowd. In front of him was a man that looked so sinister but disgusting at the same time because he h
