237 - Babysitter Jai, Not Welcomed?
“Welcome to my house, brother Jai!” the little girl welcomed him as they entered the house.
Jai looked around a bit and just took in the surroundings.
The lobby, or living room, was wide. It was probably a 7x7 meters wide, and there were two stairs across the room, leading to the second floor. There were also doors on both sides of the room, and two more doors just beside the stairs in the same floor. It was not this large when they saw it from above, but actually entering it is a whole different story. Especially with all the decors.
The ground was dark tiled and adorned with red carpet. The walls were cream colored with dark brown wood for its bottom half. There were also potted plants, some big sized potted plants that Jai thought must be planted for the sake of nature element in the room. There was also two wooden statues with different poses on each side of the stairs, and it looked a tad bit fancy since they looked like they’reRelated chapters

They went to the second floor and entered the door in the end of the room. Upon entering, Jai saw a bigger chandelier in front of them and railing that stretched surrounding the wide gaping space in the middle of the room. They walked along the right side of the railing as Jai turned his attention to the floor below.It seemed that he was wrong to assume the previous room was the living room. That was really just a lobby while this one definitely looked more like a living room. Jai could see couches in under their first position of entrance. Walking to the end of the room, he also saw a wide carpet below with two small bookshelves, low coffee table and cushions. On the side of the room across from them, still in the lower ground, there was a fireplace, and there were some couches and one more wide carpet, possibly to relax. Jai listened to Helen’s instructions about the little girl which was not at all hard for him. He just had to make sure she’s eating properly because she couldn’t eat by herself. Jai didn’t actually know why he agreed to this small challenge, but if it means a slight prestige to his undermined self in this house, he would.“At least, there’s something I can boast by cooking her meal,’ Jai thought. ‘Besides, it was just cooking.’Not to mention that the recipe in his mind didn’t require too much ingredients. Just a few main ones, and he can improvise the rest. Besides, there should be sufficient ingredients here, being the kitchen of a rich family. He could see various seasonings and cooking utensils that were well kept in shelves. There was an old style oven, the hearth oven, and he contemplated whether to change his recipe or not. Babysitting Alyssa was not hard at all. She’s a very sweet girl and it was more like a pleasure than effort because of how smart and lovely she is.Darrion came by the next morning, checking how he was holding up, which was more than good. Jai told him that he had also made friends with the three beasts that were Alyssa’s pets. They were cool with him after he cooked them lasagna.
