Miria hugged Usha as they entered the kingdom, with Jai right beside her. Barun was in front with Rugard and Wen, pulling the wagon filled with goods. They separated almost immediately because the warehouse and Doctor Prime’s office are in opposite sections of the kingdom. Miria waved her hand to her grandfather before she went with Jai.
Barun waved back at her and saw her off before going back to Rugard and Wen to submit their goods for the day. He had no qualms that Miria is going with Jai. The first time they went together, Jai almost killed someone because they were harassing his precious granddaughter. Knowing that Miria’s safe in good hands, he could avert his attention to their shipment.
‘I hope that doctor can tell something is going on with Miria. Hm… I know I shouldn’t be getting my hopes up, but, just it will be okay for just a little bit, right…?’ –was what inside the old man&rsqu
“Why don’t we take a back trip first, alright? Let’s remember back to when you were young, Miria. You were suffering from cold and your grandfather gave you a medicine made from Glaucus flower, which is commonly used to treat cold. Isn’t that right?” Doctor Prime asked.Miria nodded. “Yes.”“And then you started having these strange symptoms after you consumed the medicine. You started feeling cold all of a sudden, mild headache, tired easily…” the doctor mentioned.Miria seemed to realize as something seemed to dawn on her. “Could it be the medicine…”Doctor Prime smiled solemnly, tilting his head a bit. “Not the medicine, but the ingredients to make it.”Jai widened his eyes a bit. “The flower.”Doctor Prime smiled and nodded. “The Glaucus flower. Jai and Miria had lunch at the small kiosk and then spent their time after buying groceries in the South Market before going straight home. On their way home, Jai was quite a bit distracted by how he could convince Barun to give his consent. Well, the old man was cooperative about the checkup, but Jai wouldn’t be as sure with the expensive treatment. And unfortunately, since Jai didn’t manage to fish the price from the doctor, he also wouldn’t have the answer should Barun asked him about it later.‘This is actually a bit shady, but if this is passed, there might be no other chances… Maybe I should ask Darrion for help, digging information about this doctor to see if he’s true…’ Jai thought as he walked, ignoring a small kitten jumping up to his shoulder and up his head.Usha had to scratch him a bit on the head before they entered the forest, just to get his attention straight. This was the k
The next day, Jai departed early because he wanted to give Darrion a visit and also ask for a favor, yet, again. He felt that this blonde would get over him by that point, but he hoped not, because he would really need his help on this one.“JAIII!! Oh man! I missed you!” Darrion exclaimed excitedly before hugging him right there in front of his house.‘So he’s not over me yet,’ Jai thought, patting the blonde on the back while chuckling. “It’s always nice meeting you, Darrion.”“Aww~ You don’t miss me?” Darrion faked a pout.Jai chuckled and hummed. “Hmm, naah, I’ll say no just to tick you.”“You dog,” Darrion grinned. “You’re so early, what makes you come here at this hour? I was just about to leave for work.”Jai grimaced a bit. “Oh sorry
So… Apparently, Jai’s fame had not died down even after two weeks. When Jai entered the Windlet’s Headquarters, it wasn’t very noisy at first. Well it was, of course, filled with the noisiness of workplace where people were shouting at each other in encouraging ways or maybe some discussions that could not be solved by simply whispering around… To put it simply, the place was actually lively. But the place became livelier when the receptionist girl unconsciously shouted his name after Darrion took him to accept the billboard request. Then, it became quite of a swarm.A howl permeated the air under the scorching hot sun. Somewhere in the east plains, there was a showdown between Moonwolves and a certain black haired guy. Aside from the sound of howl and breezing wind, the sharp chirps of thunder also joined in the fight. Screams of agony from wolves being beaten and stomped by lightning strikes soon echoed, replacing the howl they did in
“How’s Doctor Tate?” Carrola asked, since the last time they met was discussing about disease.“Turns out, Doctor Tate heard it from someone else, so he recommended the person to me,” Jai said.“Really? Who did he hear it from?” Carrola asked.“Another doctor named Prime,” Jai answered.“Doctor Prime?” Carrola smiled. “Isn’t he the organ specialist from the hospital? Doctor Tate told you to ask him?”Jai nodded. “It seems like that person is famous. He’s Darrion’s doctor too.”Darrion looked at him funnily. “Any doctor can be anyone’s doctor, Jai. You make it seem like he’s my doctor being a big deal.”“You’re ADHD. Your doctor have to be super patient in dealing with you,” Jai told the blon
Jai frowned in confusion. “What do you mean you don’t care?”Darrion also looked at the doctor in confusion.Their food came and Doctor Prime sipped on his ginger tea before he spoke again. “Sorry, young one. This may seem like a conflict of interest, but honestly, I don’t really care. I’m the only one who has the knowledge to save her life. She had been suffering with that disease for a long time, her body is beyond fragile. When I say that I cannot believe she was still alive to this day, I really mean it. That disease she’s suffering from, is a very strong energy that could not be possible for a human to stay alive if they are in direct contact with it. I am not exaggerating,” the doctor shook his head.Jai looked confused as he stared at the doctor.“You saw it yourself yesterday, the girl looked so happy to know she can be cured. She put her hopes on me, and I will not let her down. So I said what
As Jai was thinking, Barun’s figure popped into his mind and immediately reminded him that he actually had the permission to help Miria however he can. The old man was asking for his help after all, so should he plan on doing anything related to helping Miria, it should be fine, right?Jai felt foolish for being swept by the blue-ish atmosphere. The doctor was just telling a story, why should he feel sad too? He swallowed the knot in his throat and shook his head lightly to get rid of the feeling.‘I can feel sorry for him, but I shouldn’t be sad with him too,’ he thought. He looked at the old man who was still hanging his head, feeling miserable for his past.“Umm, doc. I am not trying to dispirit you even further or anything, but I think the father has a right to be mad at you. It was his daughter that you treated and most parents treasure their children,” Jai said, to which the doctor nodded in agreement. “But you sti
Talking to Barun was not a problem as the old man was already asking for his help. He excluded the price part in their conversation as didn’t think it was that necessary to mention. Barun signed the consent paper, and it was safe to say they got the permission to start the process.Jai didn’t right away choose what he’s going to do the next day. But he contemplated. He weighed the options about which one he should do first. He could go to Madam Rue and try asking for a job and possibly about the Honey Pearlet, or he could try to find the Oakshen family by himself to ease Darrion.Speaking of Darrion, Jai was a bit confused by his friend’s behavior after they left Doctor Prime’s office yesterday. The blonde seemed a bit hesitant, and Jai noticed this from how quiet he was being when they returned to his house. Jai assumed that there’s something the windlet wasn’t telling him, but he didn’t know what it is.Squ
