216 - Miria’s illness (2)
After lunch, Barun went fishing again while Jai helped Miria clean the dishes. The old man had offered to go fishing with him, but Jai refused. The younger man wanted to have a talk with Miria.
Although it wasn’t his responsibility to cure her, Jai was staying here for who knows how long and he wanted to do something. Buying her medicine the first time was considered as a deposit for Jai to start living there. He had a thought of moving into the kingdom, but somehow, he felt that he should stay here. Besides, his other half seemed to like this place very much.
A meow echoed in the room and Jai felt something pawing his lower calf. He looked down and smiled. “Hello, Usha. How’s your lunch?”
“Good. I want more,” Usha answered, with a language only the sole kitten would understand.
Jai chuckled and went back to clean the dishes, ignoring the kitten because he obviously wouldn’t know what the kitten was talking about.

Entering the place, Jai distracted his gaze around the room. Across from the door was a desk with a lamp and stationery which Jai was sure the registration. There was something like a jug, but it had a faucet, and there were stacked wooden cups on the stand beside it. Barun and Miria left the doctor’s place with Usha. This time, however, Usha wiggled his way out of Miria’s arms. The kitten jumped to the ground and ran down the stairs, before then stopping right at the end of the stairs.“Usha?” Miria called. Usha looked at his female human and was a bit confused by how red she had become. She was only kissed by another female human after all. He kissed her many times on her hands and both her cheeks, but she didn’t respond like that. Their time in Darrion’s house was fun. Darisha seemed to like Miria a lot and wasn’t hiding it at all. The woman even told them that how she would love to take Miria out on a walk together, just the two of them. Jai asked Carrola what a vein doctor is and the scholar told him that the doctor deals with the muscles in the head. Jai guessed he must be some kind of neurologist because it involved people’s head and neurons are similar to vein. That made Jai wondered if the term nerve system had been found here.Jai adjusted his scarf to cover his head like a veil before crossing the East Main Road and walked to the southeastern part of the kingdom. He remembered this was near the Southern Market where they went to in the second race. He checked again the address on the paper and it said that the doctor’s place is near the market. Because the sun was still high in the sky, Jai chose to visit Doctor Prime right away. But since his grumbling stomach asked for food, he considered buying snacks in the market to eat on the way. He decided to go to the food stand he came to before. He considered that as an exchange for the direction the owner had given him.“Here you go, sonny!” the owner said after handing Jai the meat bread and fried potato he ordered.“Thank you, sir,” Jai replied, receiving the food.The meat bread was wrapped in a brown paper and was warm, while the fried potato was put in a container made from a thicker paper. The meat bread was almost similar to a burger, but the meat inside was cooked with spices and seasonings that made it smell so good, and the bread was softer.
