“So… You are my next wave today, yeah?” Teacher Enji asked after Carrola had left. The teacher sat on his seat in front of the class with a plate of food and a glass of water on his desk.
There was this unpredictable air around the man as he observed them with his unusual smirk and flat eyes. It was a rather mocking face if Jai had to say.
“I want to start this class by saying that I’m hungry,” Teacher Enji said, eyeing the food in front of him with pumps of his eyebrows. And then he looked at the participants, and then there was silence.
A few seconds passed and then the teacher said, “Wow. No one ask me why I said that?”
The teacher was slightly frowning.
The students turned to each other in reflex for a second, but someone immediately raised his hand. “Umm… Why are you hungry?” Ruhan asked.
The teacher
The participants, no, students now that they’re in class, were asked to read a book of recipe as Teacher Enji explained about alchemistry. Each and every one of them in the room had their own interest in joining the class. It’s not that they do not have any before, but now they were much more interested.Firstly, Jai and Darrion. They were excited because the Blue-tip Ferns that they were looking for were lying on the ingredients table in the room. Back in the kingdom after the tournament, they promised to help Galum find an antidote for his parent’s sickness. And after some intense information gathering, they found out that the medicine for the sickness needs some Blue-tip Fern. Unfortunately, the ferns were uncommon and not really used for many medicines, thus, the demand for it was low and it didn’t have many crates in the market. However, Darrion found out that the military had a sudden need for it, and that they bought all of them in the market. This piqued Darr
"…mustn’t drink purified water directly,” the teacher said.“Wait a second. Why? Isn’t it clean already? You said it yourself, it’s purified,” Mugen asked.“Yeah my uncle ever said the same thing, but I never asked why,” Ugi added. “Is it still dirty somehow even though it looks clean enough for us to drink?”“That question is almost correct. You see, it’s because of the substance within it. Notice when I said purified water and not pure water. Pure water came from the water source which was already filtered by the mountain. The water underwent a natural filtering process and ended up becoming a river, or a waterfall. But purified water is the dirty water that we purified using purifier. That is not filtered naturally. It’s purified by adding something else. That is not healthy for us because there is an added essence inside it,” the teacher answered and explained slowly.“But how do you know the water you drink is pure or purified? They’re both cryst
An intelligent looking scholar had just left the Minister’s room. He was wearing a dark blue shirt with long sleeves that had white ruffle on the wrist parts. There was a big pattern of circular line with a single leaf in its center, and other faint leaf patterns printed in gold in a line near the hem. He was also wearing a long black silk pants and Chinese styled shoes. The good looking scholar closed the door before sighing. He looked tired and sleep deprived, indicated by the bags under his eyes.‘All that’s left is from Jai and Darrion. I hope they know where it had gone off to. But if they do, they would’ve told us and gave it back. Or maybe they don’t know how the artifact looks like, so they didn’t even notice that it was an important item? Oh mama, this is very complicated,’ Carrola thought to himself while pinching the bridge of his eyes. Even he didn’t know what artifact that was kept in here. He knew there was some kind of artifact kept in here, but he nev
Carrola opened the door to his room and entered. “You can enter. Please close the door after you.”Jai and Darrion then entered the room after Carrola and closed the door as requested.Carrola’s room was located in the Flower Wing and very much like the Minister’s room, but smaller. The furnitures were the same as those in the Minister’s room, with a desk and a small bookshelf beside it, a couch and an armchair with dark orange leather, a coffee table, and a wardrobe. It was quite baffling that his room could be in the Flower Wing where there should only be girls allowed, so Jai asked Carrola that. The charming scholar chuckled as he pulled out a book from the bookshelves. He then gestured them to the couch. “My room isn’t in the Flower Wing. It is still near the main hall, so you can say my room is before the entrance to the Flower Wing.”“So where does that makes your room at?” Darrion asked as he and Jai sat at the couch while Carrola sa
“Do you think he knows we’re pissed?” Jai asked Darrion as he munched on his fifth sugar scone.Darrion put down his tea cup and pursed his lips. A slight annoyance could be seen on his face. “He knows. And you better put that away if you want tonight’s dinner to fit into your tumtum.”Jai put the rest quarter half of his scone into his mouth, making him look like a squirrel. “I hamp hemp if ham vis.”Darrion looked at his friend with a flat expression and hummed. “Now the tables have turned.”Jai then swallowed his food. “I can’t help it, I’m pissed somehow. I mean, we’re already involved. But why won’t they ask for our help?”“Beats me. I don’t know. The wind in this mausoleum is not very cooperative. It’s very different from the outside wind. They’re very nic
“Hey, I’m going outside for a bit of air, want to join?” Naoki asked Torfo after he wiped his mouth with a napkin.“No, thank you. I have an appointment with Teacher Sora for some review lessons,” Torfo said.Naoki smiled as he looked at him. “Look at you. Always busy. Come on, don’t you want to spend time with your friend after so long?”“But… I’ll accompany you after that. It’s just for an hour,” Torfo said.“We’ll go with you, Naoki. Jai and I need some air anyway,” Darrion said after swallowing his food.Torfo looked like somebody who just got a million dollar stolen from him. His eyes were wide as he looked at Jai beside Naoki. “You’re not coming with.”Jai raised his eyebrow in slight confusion. ‘Did he really just ask me that?’“Why wouldn’t I come? My friend invited me. I need some air,” Jai replied. The look on Torfo’s face was… Indescribable. His
A loud smack could be heard in the garden.“OWW!! What was that for?!” Jai yelled at the blonde in front of him. He looked at his friend in slight annoyance and rubbed his own head where the blonde had slapped him. He was walking in the garden, trying to calm his own train of nerve when suddenly he was smacked on the back of his head.He didn't know why his friend did it, but he's certainly not enjoying the surprise at all.“For being an idiot!” Darrion replied, equally annoyed.'Oh that's why... Wait, what?'Jai’s eyebrows crossed. “I stood up for us!”“You said it just came out of your mouth!” Darrion replied.Jai parted his lips to counter but stopped halfway. He could only open and close his mouth like a fish, but he couldn’t make any comeback. He eventually sighed and looked away.“I don’t know what I was saying… I just realized it after I said it,” Jai said helplessly.“Then why did you continue the rant? You even listed w
"Is being a thunder elemer... A bad thing?" Jai asked. His question should be easy to answer, but Darrion and Naoki were weirdly quiet. It was because they didn't know what he was thinking that made him think like that. They were just talking about Torfo.Since he didn't know what Jai was saying, Naoki voiced out his confusion. "Why do you think so?"Jai raised his head to look at their left, to the cliff. It attracted them to look to the left also. They could see rock formations about a mile away, the mausoleum, and the air dock. They knew because they could see the huge gate with relief and a ship that was docked there. There were some lights that were placed in different spots on the ship, and they way they were placed was the one telling them there was a ship there. The silence stayed for thirty seconds before the middle man broke it."I don't know," Jai said, looking at his own hands. "It's just... It feels wrong somehow. Like, I shouldn'
